Wingate by Wyndham West Monroe

Overall property is "tired". No upgrades and minimal repairs for years (unpainted/scratched doors and walls), shower curtain rod pulled out of wall and not repaired.

When we arrived we were given a room on the third floor. The whole floor was under construction. There were chemical fumes from the elevator to the hallway. There were men working every where. Some were using heavy equipment such as a wheelbarrow. A workmen almost ran into us with a wheelbarrow of loaded with debris. The fumes were all in our room. All the room doors were opened and you could see the men at work as well as chemicals near the doors. We could hardly breathe as tried to endure the construction and fumes.My husband and I are seniors. Why would she give us this room. We went back to the front desk to ask for a change of room or a refund. I asked her he she knew she had put us in a construction area. She replied that was the only room they had available because we checked in too early. She could have told us to come back. She finally gave us a room on the fish floor. In this room we found bugs and one day our bed was not made. Every night when we returned back to the room we had to ask for bath towels. The toilet in the bathroom was too low even for a young customer. We did not enjoy this visit. Hopefully the next visit will be better.

The hotel was not bad for the price. Room was clean and staff was nice. Pool area and workout area were completely closed the whole 5 nights I was there.

Construction is taking place currently. The water was shut off during the day and there wasnt any notification that this was going to happen. It was very inconvenient.

No one was at the check-in desk for over five minutes. Entrance of the hotel looked dank and dark. When a staff member finally showed up, The check-in was super slow. When I finally got my key for the room I took the elevator upstairs. All the hallways ways were dark. The lighting was very poor, maybe it’s because they’re trying to hide all the dirt and nastiness. When I open the door to my room, I felt like I had traveled back in time. Everything was old. The room smelled like mold. The toilets were rusted on the inside. Everything was just old. Nothing new there were stains on the sheets and everything was dark. I wouldn’t dare stay there or even recommend anybody stay there. I decided to try the pool thinking that would be a good thing, but I was wrong. The pool was disgusting. The hair in the pool was diabolical. The pool did not look like it had been cleaned in many many months. It was cloudy, and dirty with bugs floating in the water. It was nasty. There was no filter working whatsoever. It was super hot in there and there were only three windows open, which didn’t help anything. There were air-conditioning vents in there, but the air condition was not coming through. That was the worst Hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. I thought because of the name this hotel had it would be a great experience, but I was absolutely wrong. I’ve stayed in Wingate by Wyndham before in Florida, and it was really nice, but this one was diabolically nasty!

I stayed here because it was close the the racetrack and knew I would be coming in very late. I was woke up at 7am on a Sunday morning with hammering and demolition going on. I paid for this room to sleep and only got a few hours.

We love the pool.

We booked from the car online while driving. the website indicated that the property had a pool and gym. we booked. when we arrived the pool and the gym were under renovation. this should have been disclosed online, if it was we would not have booked. i asked the desk agent for compensation back for the inconvenience and was told she would let me know. she never did. alsp, breakfast was until 9. but do to the many construction workers staying there, breakfast was gone by 815

The two elevators were a big plus. Didn’t realize just how much until one broke down.

You get what you pay for. The whole 2nd floor smelled like weed on arrival. The a/c was broken in the first room we were assigned. The toilet would barwly flush in the second. The "heated" pool was set to 78 when we got there, there was so much chlorine that our eyes burned just standing in the room, and half the light bulbs were burned out. That being said, it was a cheaper option hotel. The manager that was there on the first night was wonderful. The beds and room were pretty clean.

Bathroom toilet had pubic hair on the toilet seat, the tub had rust on the floor of the tub. There was an odor throughout the entire hotel.

If i had book a room at motel 6 for 40 dollars then i would expect what i had at wingate roaches in the bathroom rust in the tub rust on the door of the bathroom and the vents were loaded with dust do they have housekeeping? and i have pictures of this and Wyndham should be embarrassed to have there name on this property

This is the photograph I took of the bedbug in my room during my stay at the Wingate by Wyndham West Monroe Hotel. I visited the front desk to present the image of the bedbug on my bed to the night shift supervisor and a colleague. They checked for available rooms at the hotel, but none were available. The supervisor offered to visit my room, where she personally observed the bedbug, proceeded to the housekeeping area, and returned with fresh linens to replace my bedding. I inquired about potential compensation for this incident, and the supervisor assured me that I would be compensated. However, approximately half an hour later, she telephoned my room, stating that due to my reservation being made through hotel.com, I would need to contact them directly regarding this situation, which I did the following morning. Not compensating your guest after committing to do so is not an appropriate way to treat your guest at your hotel, especially considering the bed bug infestation in my room that you acknowledged.

The hotel is DIRTY in every space you go into. It is not maintained at all. The floor is grimy and dirty. The rooms are dirty- it looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed or fully cleaned in i dont know how long. The pool is gross, smelly and turned my nieces hair green. The breakfast bar is dirty and not well maintained. There’s a pipe sticking up in the floor of the breakfast area that kids kept tripping on- so glad they didn’t fall on it and get stabbed. The ice machine is slimy and gross - do not use the ice! The halls and elevators reeked of pot and cigarettes. The bath water and toilet water was completely brown and smelled horrible. The sofa bed was completely broken. We had 25 family members staying here and we all woke up with bug bites all over our bodies.

The lady at the desk was rude. The hotel is run down. Our room smelled so bad. It’s in horrible shape and they made me put a $100 incidental deposit down. For what? That room was crap. So dirty. Doors didn’t shut properly. Halls were disgusting and so was the only elevator that worked. Shower was rusty and rotten. White stuff on carpet. Room was very musky smelling and humid. Pretty sure the lady at the front desk is up to something. No one has ever taken a copy of my drivers license like that. Don’t stay here. It’s nasty. I thought this would be a nice place because of the brand but it’s a crap hole! I felt dirty after staying there. Your feet get dirty from the carpet. And we had mold on the bed!! Pics to prove it.

Poor cleaning, the carpet was filthy, tv didn’t work.. Didn’t offer any room service.

Super dirty

The whole hallway smelled like poop and there were roaches all over the room. I tried to change rooms with the front desk but they wouldn’t let me. I just left the hotel and went to another one. Worst stay ever!!!

The room was disgusting. I took some pictures if you would like to see them. It was totally unsanitary. There was hair on the bed and pubic hair on the rail in the bathroom. We luckily had antiseptic spray in our car. We sprayed everything down if we had not prepaid we would have left. I don’t see how this hotel is a Wyndham. It gives Wyndham a very bad name.

Room, bathroom and sheets were extremely dirty.

We had to switch rooms 2 times because the first room was smokey. The second had a weird smell. Turns out there were some more recently renovated rooms, so we moved into one of those. The property overall was pretty old and needs maintenance. There was a lack of soap and paper towels in the first floor bathrooms in the common area of the hotel. I almost certainly wouldn’t stay here again.

My door lock didn’t work in one room. The other room had the cable ripped out of the tv. So we could watch tv.

The first room smelled very musty. Not clean. We asked for a new room and it was better but still smelled musty. The TV stand was broken. The TV remote was also broken. The floorboards in the bathroom had dry rot and mold in multiple spots. That was probably the musty smell. Mold also on the bathtub moulding. Fortunately we only stayed one day

Good location, safe, well lit, plenty of restaurants and stores all around. The room needs attention, henges rusted, chair and ottoman were stained and needs to be replaced.all these things happen over time so I\'m sure that they will be attended to. It\'s a "Pet friendly" Hotel but there\'s a $50.00 a night charge!! They are doing a good job of keeping everything clean and the beds were clean and comfortable.

Shower had hair in the tub, on the walls, and shower curtain. The WiFi didn’t work, TV is Roku so that didn’t work either. Loud toad noise and the AC would stop after an hour and the room would heat back up and you could turn the AC on for another hour. Absolutely reduculous!

Seems to be getting updated. Clean, comfortable bed. Perfect for 1 night stay. Did have indoor pool which is probably good for kids.

It was way over priced for the condition of the room. It needs painting in the bathroom. The corners were dirty and needed a good cleaning. There was a hole in the closet door. The shower needs a new shower head with better pressure. The chair in the room was stained. The tv was like a 32 inch. Just not what I would expect for a $200 a night room.

There was no remote to the TV in the room. I went to get one from the desk and they didn't know what remote to give me. Never did work that night. The next morning I took a shower and the hair dryer didn't work. The cover was about half off and my husband looked in - there were wires that had been cut!! The lady working during the day was great - very kind. But, the property isn't being kept up real well.

Anything I asked for, staff was ready to assist ….

Wingate Hotel and Suites in West Monroe is super! The staff workrd to accomodate my family over Thanksgiving. It was exceptional.

They don’t clean the rooms I stayed 2 week just one time they cleaned

The TV was brand new and hadn't been set up after attempting our selves and got no where the front desk lady (at the end of her shift) came and tried with no success. They moved us to a different room and voila happy kids. Thank you for being so accommodating with everything. Super nice , friendly staff 😀 couldn't ask for a better home away from home even if only for 1 night

The checkin process was delayed because the clerk was not at their post. Once I got my room about half the lights in the room didn’t work. The in room coffee machine was not working properly. I have stayed at this facility in the past but it has really taken a turn for the worse.

The evening clerk was impersonal and I was confused as to who she was talking to because she was talking to someone on her personal ear pods

Waited in lobby for someone to check us in for over 40 min. The room we were given was not clean, urine in the toilet, bed wasn’t made, towels on the bathroom floor.

When we arrived they could not find my reservation so they put us in a king suite with sofa bed we went out for lunch and I received an email saying I cancelled my original reservation the one they said I didn't have so we returned to the hotel and the clerk found my original reservation so he comped us another king suite so no one had to sleep on a sofa bed on Saturday we went out and when we returned our keys didn't work in either room they rekeyed our keys and we went into our rooms room 221 had fresh towels but nothing else was done room 228 had been completely cleaned the staff threw out all of my sister in law bath and body works body wash lotion and perfume and all the items she had in the refrigerator and her suitcase was missing we went to the front desk and her suitcase was in the lost and found she returned to her room opened her suitcase and she was missing clothing a pair of pajamas and a new Orleans Saints shirt and insulated cup the items total $150 we have tried several times to speak with the manager but shes never in I would liked to know how this matter is going to be resolved

The breakfast was poorly stocked, both food and supplies (plates, napkins and utensils) The milk was spoiled and the yogurt had expired.

The guy working front was very nice and helpful. Room was clean, bed was comfy. We got to breakfast about 10 till 9 and it closed at 930 but not much was left. Only toaster items and cereal but had to adk for plates and forks beacause there was none out. They had waffles but no syrup. So only complaint was whoever takes care of breakfast might want to watch it a little better and restock often. A lot of people after us was very upset they had to go down road for breakfast.

The customer service was phenomenal. Staff very helpful and friendly. The facility was not very clean, it had an awful smell of dirt and pee in the halls. The breakfast was terrible, little to no effort put into having a decent breakfast. The indoor pool was a murky color resembling a swamp. Our beds were half made and there was blood on our bed. We also didn’t have towels in our room.

My stay was great! The bed was super comfy, the room was spotless, the staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. I’d definitely stay here again!

Stayed here 4 days with limited to no maid service, stain on bed comforter, desk chair looked as if it was obtained from the trash and when asked for another chair maintenance brought a broken chair that wobbled and did not fix it..said it will be ok to sit in...are you kidding me! Toilet handle was broken..had to open the toilet top to flush the toilet and was told the one maintenance man did not work on weekends. One maid (a nice gentleman) temporarily fixed the handle. He did the best he could. Front desk and the 2 or 3 maids we spoke with were courteous and tried to accommodate us. A big property to not provide basic necessities for guests. Free breakfast was ok. Owners of this hotel do not care about this property or it's guests! We stayed here eight years ago and then it was a very nice place to stay. We will never stay here again!

I saw a roach at the breakfast bar..YUCK!!!! I didn't expect uninvited guest.

Saff was very friendly and helpful however the room left a lot to be desired, room had a musty smell to it, bathroom walls were in disrepair, shower faucet was loose, felt like it was going to come off, when shower was on, faucet was still running not allowing for much water pressure for the shower head. "Hot" breakfast-eggs were luke warm, sausage cold, no bacon, waffle iron did not work.

We arrived late in the evening. All was quiet, check-in was smooth, and room was clean. There's a uniques smell in the hallway. Not sure how to describe it. The bed was very comfortable, with lots of pillows. The amenities were good quality Dove products. The food. The food was terrible. I am usually lenient when it comes to hotels. We travel a lot and see a lot. My sausage patty wasn't cooked all the way. And the microwave eggs were dried out and hard. Breakfast started at 6. We got there at 6:30 and they were out of eggs, sausage,and waffle mix. It has the potential to be great with a little tweaking.
