We stayed at Maryland inn which is 5 minutes walk from the front desk. It's inconvenient with luggage. I wish the hotel could offer a ride. Parking is an issue. Only valet parking is available and you want for 5-10 minutes to get your car. Everything eLSE is good other than that. Maryland inn is located right on main street, very nice location.

The hotel location is perfect for a weekend in historic Annapolis . The restaurant no longer operates and the bar is ok but not great . The room was nice considering its historic age so adjust your expectations

Great location in Annapolis right in the center of everything. I did not realize that this hotel is actually 3 separate buildings some distance apart in the downtown. But they helped us to get to the building we were in. Parking with the hotel was $40 which was an unexpected additional expense.

I loved the historical building, but was surprised thinking I booked the one at Maryland Inn on the main street. I didn't realize there were multiple properties. Parking was not convenient & I would have preferred the other location. The Governor Calvert was comfortable but not an easy walk from the parking garage for someone with mobility issues so unfortunately I wont be able to return if I'm traveling with my mom or daughter. When making the reservation & getting the confirmation, it needs to be spelled out in larger font, where you're actually staying. And we arrived to the one location & were told we had to check in blocks away at the other location and then lug our bags to the other hotel. Other travelers were also confused. They do offer valet for $50/night, but the parking garage is approx $23 to park yourself for 24 hours, but a few blocks away.

Let's start by what's good: location! Historic Inns of Annapolis has three inns in different locations, we stayed at the Maryland Inn, on Main St / Church Circle, and it was great for walking around to the main attractions, shopping, dinning, etc. What's bad: 1) you check in at the main Inn but if you're not staying there you have to walk, with your luggage, to where you'll be staying, this can be very annoying in general and worse if it's too hot or too cold or raining; 2) the bathrooms are tiny, no counter space, the shower is super small, it wouldn't fit a tall / large person, the water has little pressure, and there's no good position the shower. The bathroom was a real disappointment, and 3) the Inn is a bit rundown, doors got jammed because of the heat, I understand historical, but it would benefit from a few improvements. Additionally, we were woken up by the fire alarm one night, and after everything was cleared out, no one explained what happened, what caused it, etc. We felt insecure.

When we checked in, we were told our room was in a different building. By the time we had already valet our car so we had to lug our luggage to the other building which was not not connected to the main building where we checked in. It was some different address altogether though it was within walking distance. That building has no lobby, or customer service people. You can not get any help there. That building did not have wifi. There was no easy way to ask for help. When we walked back to the building where we checked in and told them there is no wifi in our room, they said they were very sorry but it has not been working from a day before. They did not feel it was something we should have been told when we were checking in. It's a "historic" building so I can understand issues like this but customer service should have addressed it proactively. We are not going to stay there again.

There is no staff at the Maryland inn. No one to help w bags, that was a serious fail. I lugged all the bags myself, while my husband had to move the car, since the Valet parking they advertise isn’t really a thing. Best idea is to unload at the Inn( find out which of the 3 inns youre booked at), then move the car to one of the Annapolis parking garages which are so much cheaper and pretty close. Then just walk 4 minutes back to the hotel. Nice hotel though. Room was fun. There is an amazing bar in the basement. So cute, great drinks, historic vibe. Go to that bar!!!

This is a historic hotel in a beautiful building. Therefore, I don't expect a generic, modern and spacious room. But I do expect things such as a door that locks, a clean bed and carpet and airconditioning that can be used (it was too noisy to use). A lovely building, but low levels of hygiene and maintenance.

We had a great room in the Governor Calvert House, very spacious with a big bathroom and comfortable bed. The amenities in the room were lacking however, there were two tiny water bottles and not enough coffee. Also, glass cups at the sink would be a lot nicer than the plastic ones they supplied. We were in town for a wedding so the steamer in the room came in handy. Cleanliness of the room was lacking, there was a dirty tissue in the window and a stain on our sheets. Overall we had a nice stay but with a few upgrades this hotel could be excellent.

We had such a great stay. The room was spacious and clean and the staff was so friendly. And the location was prime. Easy walk to shopping, restaurants, historical sights and the Naval Academy. Was also nice they offer daily service. Not many hotels do that anymore.

Great location. No housekeeping over 4 days and 3 days. Had to repeatedly ask for towels. No coffee refresh in the rooms. The room was not clean-smelled like a cat had stayed there. Asked for air fresheners, and they gave us a spray. Very disappointing. Will go to the Westin or the Waterfront next time.

We were here for three nights. The best thing about this hotel is the location, except where you check in and where you stay are not the same place, so if you cannot easily haul your luggage on cobblestones, that is a problem. The room is small, but nicely appointed. 1. We could not check in before 4:30 because the room was not ready. Since we had to be someplace at 5, that was inconvenient but not terrible. 2. There were very bad odors in the room. We needed to get changed and leave, so we asked for air fresheners to see if that helped. It did not. The smells persisted all 4 days. 3. Housekeeping did not show up. We called on day 2 for fresh towels, but they did not refill the coffee, and no one showed up at all on day 3. No fresh towels, nothing. Because you are away from the main check-in desk, there is no place to ask for towels or coffee easily. One morning out of three there was a pot of the coffee in the waiting room—nothing on the other days. overall, disappointing.

There are 3 different properties. You check in one place and then have to be driven to the one you are staying in. The room I was in was nice, but very small. It wouldn’t have worked for two people. I had to Lyft to pick up my car as I had an early flight. The $50 valet fee was a little excessive.

The hotel was very conveniently located near everything in downtown Annapolis. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The windows in my room did not face the street or anything outside, we had a view of a common area in the lobby. It made the room dark, but it would not stop me from staying there again. I would just request a room with a street view.

We stayed in the Maryland Inn. The location could not have been better. The AC in the room was very cold which was needed in the 90 degree weather. Bed was comfy. I fully understand its a historic inn which is what makes it unique, but it also means very small rooms and even smaller bathrooms. So be aware. We got a king room and the bathroom was so small and so was the shower. We made it work but I think if you were a bigger person it would be hard to maneuver in there. Checking in at one inn and hauling your suitcases to another was kind of annoying too but it wasnt that far. Valets were great guys.

Never again. It's bait and switch as they shuffle you off to the Maryland Inn despite checkin at Calvert. My room's floor was so slanted, the head of the bed was 7" lower than the foot and they didn't even shim it up. I slept with my head in the opposite direction. I've been in boat bathrooms larger than what I had. Absolutely should be condemend.

To preface we are European so are used to small hotel rooms. The main problem here (Maryland Inn) was that they used huge American size furniture (other than the bed). There was not space to move around the room without turning sideways or banging your hip on something. There was no bedside table on one side of the bed which was challenging and nowhere to hang even a hand towel in the bathroom or a place to set your toothbrush as the basin is curved and everything just slides down into the sink. The bed was also incredibly hard and it was difficult to keep the temperature in the room comfortable. You check in at one building and the walk to a different one, which would have been nice to know in advance. They give you a terrible map missing streets and street names and tell you the most complicated route to get there, when there is a much more straightforward route instead. They couldn't find out hotel.com booking at check in. It also appears we had to pay and additional 30+% of the averaged price due to undisclosed local taxes although I am still trying to figure this part out. Overall it was inexpensive for the location but definitely not worth the discomfort and hassle. We would not stay there again and I'm surprised by all the good reviews, although they might be for a different building.

Room very small for 2 people. Old tub and fixtures. Noisy a/c and fridge. Towel supplies and soap inconsistent and toilet clogged. No Ice machine or services or front desk in building (Johnson bldg). The property was great (2’nd stay), but the front office is a few blocks away. Upon check-in, they literally jumped into the driver’s seat of our car and drove us to our accommodations, checking out was quite different. We were in Annapolis for the boat show and we stayed in town so we wouldn’t have to deal with parking. Sunday morning we called the front desk and asked if they could hold our bags for a few hours??? NO was the incredulous answer. Not only wouldn’t they keep our bags, but they would t pick us up. We had to schlep our bags several blocks with our bags to the main office to get our car & check out. We were on a much longer trip, we fit this in the middle so we had full size bags (thankfully rollies) and my wife has spinal stenosis and was waiting for her surgery date. Never for $400 a night have I had such bad customer service.

The property was beautiful and very clean. Staff wasn't the most welcoming or helpful when we asked for early check in at 11am. I also had messaged days before on the app to see if we could get early check in with no response. It was also not clear that booking with this hotel meant you could be staying at one of three historic locations. When we found parking in the busy city and then dropped all of our bags off early to explore, no one told us we would be at a building many blocks away. We came an sat in reception 20 min before official check in. We had been sitting there, directly in front of the front desk employee, and still had to ask if our room was ready at 4pm. When she said yes, it seemed as if it had been ready but didn't inform us while we were clearly waiting since 11am and sitting right there. When our room was ready, we had to drag our luggage many blocks away to a different building in the 90 degree heat. Seems that there might be an opportunity for better communication about this multi location fact or have a service to cart luggage to other buildings for guests.

Wonderful historic hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. Close to Naval Academy and waterfront shops and dining (5-minute walk, tops). Also close to Maryland State House (across the street) and several other historical sites. Loved our stay, with many future stays planned as we visit our new Midshipman in the months and years to come.

Stayed at the Historic Inns of Annapolis - Governor Calvert House. The front desk receptionist was friendly and helpful. Check in was easy and efficient. Valet parked the car and due to being centrally located, we didn't use the car for the two days we were in Annapolis. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Very quiet. We would definitely stay here again!

The location of this property is excellent. However it's not an INN or a Hotel. There is no where for breakfast on property, no restaraunt or room service. Further more the inexperienced staf had no idea as to where there was any eateries as such. Over all very disappointing.

My husband and I stayed at the Governor Calvert House for 3 nights. We were able to book an extra night and were even able to check in earlier, with no fee, if we wanted! The staff was friendly, the Inn was ADORABLE, and we loved how accessible it was to everything. Truly felt like a Hallmark movie experience. The only negatives that we had were that there were no microwaves accessible to guests - none in the room or lobby, and no laundry facility. These are minor inconveniences, but still something to note. Overall a great stay and would stay again!
