Everything was good except for no elevator. We were on the second floor and had a hard time getting everything up to our room

No swimming pool no exercise facility. The breakfast was to go no sit down and eat.

Drove 5 hours to find out no pool. "We haven't had a pool in a long time!" Blames discount hotel site for bad listing. "Not our fault!" Discount Hotel site says it is locations fault. Months later, why is it still listed as having a pool? This property is not up to Wyndham standards especially at the price we paid. Discount Hotel site isn't checking reviews or complaints.

Pool spa was advertised-not in opperation.Restaurant not in operation-no free breakfast.These were advertised-why if not available.One of the reasons that I booked was that you had a pool.False advertising!!!!!!!!! Not satisfied with my experience there-would not recomend to anyone.

Chose this place partly because it advertises an outdoor pool, but it has been closed since Covid! Also, our shoes stick to the bathroom floor tiles, it was unsettling.

There was hair in the sink when my party arrived. The pool was closed and wasnt advertised at time of check in. There wasnt free wifi, service fee to use. Website stated free wifi service.

Good hotel for price, needs major updating . Need to update website. Website states there is a pool and breakfast in the morning. There is no pool or breakfast room. They do provide grab an go breakfast bags at the front desk.

I reluctantly booked this room for the night before my college graduation, as it was one of the only rooms left in Bangor. Though the front desk worker was very kind, the condition of these rooms are terrible. To start, the SMELL. We booked a non-smoking room and the ENTIRE building smelled very strongly of cigarettes, covered up with a cheap air freshener that wasn’t any more lovely. Quite honestly we couldn’t even sleep because of the smell. My partner was a smoker previously, and the smell even made him ill. The air system must’ve been the issue as I turned off the heat/fan to minimize the smell. When doing so, I realized the entire thing probably hadn’t have been cleaned since it was put in. I was met with a thick layer of dirt and dust with dead bugs crusted into it, for an air filtration system. Next, the hair. There was hair everywhere. Stains everywhere. It was obvious that we had an uncleaned room. Also, I believe the non-smoking room that I booked was actually filled with a smoking, pet friendly room, considering the carpet was ripped all the way across from what appears to be a dog. I’m never one to write negative reviews or be rude to any service worker, but these rooms are definitively bad. Don’t be fooled by a few good photos on their website, since it’s definitely false advertising. You will leave feeling grimey and unrested. I would’ve had better luck sleeping in my car.

Room was spotless. Bed was very comfortable. Great price. Great location.

The hotel and hallways were old and smelled musty. They tried to cover the smell with febreeze which made it worse. The first room we were given was very old, smelled musty, the carpet was wet, the beds had hairs of all lengths and colours, there was a bug (cockroach) in the tub and the bathroom was also very dirty with hairs. We asked for a new room and it had all the same issues- smelled, dirty, lots of hairs and another bug/cockroach in the bathroom. We asked for a new room, the third one, and to our disbelief it was the exact same. This time the bug was crawling on the wall in the bedroom. We checked out and went to a new hotel and requested a refund. Do not stay here.

Not what the franchise used to be. Breakfast was terrible - sack lunch style. Carpets were dirty. Whole place had an odor. Washing machine was filthy.

We enjoyed our stay here. All of the front desk staff were very kind. The room and common areas were all very clean. The location was handy. We found it to be comfortable and convenient.

This is an older property, but the room was updated and surprisingly comfortable and fresh feeling. Great value as well!

Had bed bugs

The room was clean and the staff were friendly. However, the amount of noise the AC/heating unit made throughout the night was terrible. It would wake you everytime it kicked on. It definitely needed some maintenance.

Outdated, lumpy pillows, threadbare towels and peeling bathtub.

Rooms are huge and comfy beds, just the "breakfast included" consisted of a Banana yogurt sandwich.....not even sure what that is, so we ate at McDonalds. Other than that, this is a very nice, clean place 👌

The wifi was terrible and the building smells like cigarette smoke. The front desk receptionist working around 5pm was not friendly.

Room was fine except that the LOCKS ON THE WINDOW WERE BROKEN and we were on the first floor. Did not sleep well at all knowing this. Plus for paying $300+ for this room (just because there was a concert in town) there was no type of breakfast included , no bottled water in the room. Everything was just basic, no extras after paying over $300!

Good: Staff was professional; Room and bathroom very clean. Easy check-in; good location next to the airport. Some things to know: the walls were not thick so I could hear people's TV in the next room. Breakfast is a grab-and-go bag, not a full breakfast. Overall, it was a good stay.

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay the night on a road trip up to Acadia so we booked at Howard Johnson. My only complaint was the overpowering smell in the lobby during check-in. However, once we got up to our room that smell was gone. The room was spacious and clean and I absolutely loved the look of the 1970's vibe. The bed was comfortable. Check-in and check-out was great and the staff members were kind and helpful. We did not have breakfast in the morning, so I can't comment on that, but everything else was way above what I had anticipated. I would absolutely stay in this hotel again as well as recommend it.

Passed in my keys at 3.30 for a flight which got cancelled during boarding. Called into the front desk who said I could come back and get a few more hours of sleep and extended check out by an hour. Was beyond grateful that they were so understanding and helped alleviate a problem they didn't even cause!!

All staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Although this hotel is a bit older, I found my stay of 8 nights to be very, very nice. The room was clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and the environment was quiet. I also appreciated the availability of a washer and dryer. I was impressed. Money well spent!

Front desk clerk not pleasant no information on breakfast ask her a question and it looked like she couldn’t be bothered. Booked for two nights she programs the room key for one night. When I checked in there was no one in the lobby.

Staff friendly, lodging was great, nice stopping place on our way north.

We were there for a retreat with the Carmelite Order. We were very surprised by the friendly greeting by the staff. The quick and pleasant treatment by all the staff. The room was a delight. A very clean and brightly colored room awaited us with all the usual amenities. After a long ride we enoyed extremely comfortable beds and soft cosy pillows . Thank you so much. Also the price was very affordable, as religious we don't have a lot of money.

Great friendly service Room was nice

I used to love the howard johnson in bangor, but this last trip was not a good one, and i wont be back. First, i did the pre pay and pre check in for the room. Upom pre check in i paid an incidental deposit. When checking in, the front desk clerk was so rude. I had questions about why they would need a second card on file after already having a the room paid for and a hold on my card. He continuously cut me off & rolled his eyes. When he finally heard my full question, he looked on my account and said i guess i dont need a second card on file. When getting into the room, the bath tub and towels were full of shaved hair. The fridge was a mess. And the bedding was clearly not washed. I was extremely disappointed.

Great place to stay if you have a flight out of Bangor the next day. Quiet, convenient and easy.

A very convenient location for continued travel by car or plane. Basic hotel, but clean and all you need.

This is a comfortable and clean bed for us midway in our travels. Simple, clean. FYI breakfast is a bagged breakfast. Very ample! Pick it up before you check out so you can use the microwave if you wish. Friendly staff.

I stay there quite a lot and have always had good service and the locations works very well for my work.

Great front desk service, convenient location (near EV charging, airport, and I-95), very nice retro-50’s style renovation in the room. Bathroom was spotless. Room’s wall heating unit worked well, and the bed was quite comfortable. Negatives: liked the design of the wall-to-wall carpeting, but given the wear, it may be time to replace it—mainly in the corridors. A couple of chairs in the room were also showing their age. Overall, a very good experience, and I would stay again.

Very Close to I-95 & only 5 minutes from Downtown Bangor and Brewer. Clean and Cheaper than most in Bangor area

Not sure why this hotel had bad reviews because my husband and I had a great stay here. Close to attractions and restaurants and the room was clean and comfortable.

Great value and close to airport. I stayed one night and left my car there for 2 weeks long term parking for $20/week. The lady at the front desk was super friendly. The room was very quiet and clean. Ample amenities. I would stay again.

We went out for New Year’s Eve and stayed the night, great location close to downtown, the casino and the cross insurance center!

They should not advertise a continental breakfast and then only offer a grab and go bag.

Easy check in, secured doors to get in. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a to go bag of a yogurt, banana, pastry and sausage mcmuffin.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a grab bag. Coffee was instant from a machine. The price was right. Very affordable.

This hotel promotes 'Breakfast Included' My opinion is that is not truthful. There is not a breakfast room provided as has been our experience with all other hotels that promote breakfast included whilst we have been travelling across the USA in the last two weeks. This was our first (and probably our last) ttime staying at a Howard Johnson. Their description of breakfast included is handing a paper bag containing a yoghurt, a pre packaged muffin and a pre packaged cold chicken melt. You would have to return to your room to use a microwave to heat the melt. A coffee machine was in the foyer. No fresh milk at all. A juice machine thank dispensed liquid that was supporsed to be orange. It didn't say orange juice and it certainly was not. It was disgusting. Just be honest and advertise No Breakfast rather than in the fine print have: Breakfast on the go. Amenities is correct that there is not an elevator. Only one washing machine and dryer in the laundry, but at least they did have one.

Clean hotel, friendly staff. WiFi was very good. There is NO breakfast but instead, it is a grab and go: Yogurt, banana, pckaged honey bun, packaged breakfast sandwich.

The hotel was quiet and easy to find. The property needed to be updated as the carpet in the rooms was damp and the hallways smelled of cleaner. No breakfast!

Sheets did not fit the bed. After lying on the bed you were on the bare mattress as the sheets pulled off of the mattress. Restaurant not open. A bagged breakfast is not acceptable. Hotel ad just said breakfast included.brown bag is not breakfast.

It was a great hotel. The only down side was the breakfast. The food wasn’t great. Hot pockets were gross.
