The breakfast was grab and go. We grabbed it and went to eat it in the pool area. The water in the pool was extremely cold. Clean and well maintained but cold! There was also a hot tub for those who enjoy it. The hotel has a restaurant but unfortunately it was closed before we got there. And the most important part: the room was clean.

The breakfast was in the lobby with no place to set down . The facility is three different buildings . The only way to get from my hotel room to the lobby is drive . So where are you supposed to eat . Breakfast was broken pop tarts and tiny prepackaged danish . No one ever replenished the coffee in my room in three days . The worst part was the blood on the comforter that I didn’t see until the third night .

This was a great place to stay. We needed a place for an overnight and I saw that Fireside was supposed to be clean. It *was* really clean-- our room was big, the window actually opened and let in fresh air, the TV was enormous, and the working fireplace was great! Definitely two thumbs up.

Great location right off the highway. We appreciate they are dog-friendly, even supplying poop bags! The room was well appointed with a fridge and microwave. Great shower, firm beds. There was a thermostat on the wall to control the heat, but it didn't work and the heat was on all night. A bit warm to sleep. They key card system didn't always work on the first, second or even third try. Eventually it did. Overall a very nice stay.

My room's heater didn't work properly, but I didn't report it till the next day at checkout. There was an extra blanket in the room so I was fine. Pillows were lumpy. They seemed very concerned and jumped right on it. The breakfast had a lot of variety. There's no kitchen so it was toaster and microwave and hot water dependent, which was fine for us. They gave us a whoopie pie on checkin and there was microwave popcorn in the room. Lots of cable TV channels. A good-for-the price motel.

The hallway and room (324) smelled bad - probably stink from the carpet from 1960. There was a good deal of noise from kids in the hallway until around midnight (which was unfortunate since we needed to get up at 4:15am for a race). The staff were completely unhelpful when we asked for late checkout of 1pm to ensure that we could shower after the race. The staff were very reluctant to help and visibility did not care whatsoever. Finally, they agreed to ask the manager of cleaning services and said they'd email me with an update...never received an email. Enjoyed a nice 10 hour drive home without having showered.

Attached to the hotel is the Governor's restaurant (the pictures that show bakery items under glass). Pool and hot tub are well maintained, I see maintenance and staff all around the property from early hours until late. Grab and Go breakfast choices on par with many breakfast options from most hotel chains. Super awesome desk staff, Genn and Julie were very helpful with sites for various topics around town, and requests.

Good property with a good attached restaurant that features delicious comfort food in a homey atmosphere. Property is near major highway and heavily trafficked area so it can be noisy. Facility was generally clean. Cable was more limited and harder to navigate than other properties we have staged in although the wifi connection was good. Generally a good place to stay for a short time.

The property is older and while the bathroom was recently renovated, it's clear that the building could use some general TLC. We stayed one night on the way to Bar Harbor. We chose this place because of multiple excellent reviews; however, the hotel didn’t meet our expectations for the $$ we paid. It’s quite outdated hotel with GRAB AND GO breakfast like back to COVID times. Room may need some updates and cleaning (poorly smelling). Bed was comfortable. We didn’t use a restaurant though as we thought for the $$ we paid we should have some decent continental breakfast. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Although breakfast was continental, they had a large selection of doughnuts, raisin bread, yogurt, nature valley nut bars, fruits. Coffee was above average also. It adjoined the governor’s palace restaurant which we did not try. I liked that we could even walk to hannaford grocery, hobby lobby, jc penney, etc. it was quiet and safe. I would stay there again.
