Baymont by Wyndham Auburn Hills South

After checking in we went to our room. The elevator, the only one working, was so filthy. There was a used Qtip on the floor. In the hallway just outside our room were men sitting in the hallway talking on their phones. The room didn't feel clean. After only 15 minutes we left and found another hotel. We felt very unsafe.

This location was not clean at all, the elevator close to the office was out of order so we had to walk to the elevator that was what seemed like a block away. The room that we got, smelled like butt, feet and prostitutes. People were coming in and out through the front entrance all night as we were trying to check in at 11:30 pm. We had to cancel our stay amd go to a different Hotel. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The ONLY good thing for this place was Micheal who was our attendee that was sitting in for the regular attendee. Micheal was very attentive, professional, amd nice and tried to accommodate us the best that he could.

The place as a whole is run downed. 1 Elevator not working. Got to room and it smelled and carpet old and stained bad and furniture old and torn. Some lights didnt work. A lot of noise up stairs all night but kept tv on. Grab and go breakfast had toast and weak coffee. Then charged a $50.00 deposit for each room. I will report all of this at front desk also. If it was fixed up would be a nice place.

Plenty of parking space and staff was receptive. We had very limited access to fresh towels and I had mold in the bathroom walls and ceiling.

A complete remodeling is currently going on so don't expect everything"s working eg elevator. Yet one still can stay and only needs to pay a deeply discounted price. Hoping the reno will be done before too long!

The elevator was out of service, people were playing loud music, the room smelt like old socks, and to make it worse somebody had recently used the shower as the tub was wet and there was still a wet floor towel hanging from the tub.

This hotel is more like an extended stay hotel for the less fortunate. The amount of marijuana odor is very overwhelming. The hotel’s 3rd floor was closed for remodeling causing quite a bit of noise. The entire building felt dirty even the carpet In my room had that grungy feeling. Definitely would NOT stay at this facility again

Our feet stuck to the very dirty floor & the curtains were broken so we pinned them together. The staff was great, friendly & super helpful. No ice machine available.

I couldn't take a shower for the 4 days I was there. Nasty filthy rust or some substance covered the tub. I asked for a new room several times, but each time they said they were sold out

There was roches in a room

The hotel didn’t seem very clean. Our room smelled like stale cigarettes, the AC unit in our room was leaking into the room on the floor by the bed and the walls had food on them. The continental breakfast wasn’t great - the tables, counters and floor were dirty.

The room was very dirty. The room and surrounding areas smelled awful. They had a cockroach trap in the bathroom and we found a roach in the corner of the bathroom. We asked for our money back and went to a clean hotel. Also, it looked like people were living there as a home situation.

The front desk representative was really nice! However the hotel was dirty, the room itself had toys and trash under the bed, the paint in the tub was peeling off, and the worst part of it all was the multiple roaches that decided to wait until night to start coming out. We called the front desk and the new lady was so rude! We asked for a refund and checked out at 12:30am. Don’t waste your time here even if it’s for one night! We went to Sonesta Select down the street and was very pleased!!!!

Bed was terrible. Very uncomfortable. Room was not clean. Very disappointed.

Bathroom and kitchen were dirty. The whole room had a horrible cigarette smell.

Don’t spend your money!!! Our room was super dirty, covers had stains and burn holes in it. Smell was horrendous. We paid for 2 days but left immediately when looking at the room. The front desk would only refund us for 1 day which is very crazy. I will be calling the BBB and the Attorney General asap. I have pictures as well.

Bed was very springy and uncomfortable. Pillows were completely flat. Baseboard was peeling off in the bathroom, smoke detector was broken, dirty rag left behind on the stove. Smelled like cigarettes, stains on the chair and couch. The lamp did not work at all.

The 2 rooms we used had stained carpets, one of the doors was missing a hinge and did not close, one of the windows didn’t close, the plug for the hair dryer was split apart and the smoke detector was hanging from the wall. We gave the list of concerns to the front desk and never heard anything from them. We were extremely disappointed in this property and have no intention of returning.

Expected a fairly decent room. Our first room had stains, big spots on the floor, damaged walls, lights that didn't work, and an office chair that looked absolutely nasty. They switched us to a better room, but there were still lights that didn't work, the office chair was filthy, and the bed was only just ok enough to sleep on. I also had to reprogram the remote so it would work with the TV, but it only barely worked.

Lovely large room. But older furniture and marks on the walls here and there. Comfortable beds.

I like the wood floors.

I liked the bed, the TV, refrigerator, micro wave, Toiletries. I didn't like that the bath tub would collect water, The TV remote was missing the battery compartment door, and for some reason, there was a useless alarm clock on one on the night tables.

The suite was very big , clean, and staff was friendly and professional. I would definitely stay there again

I booked a deluxe suite queen bed. The bed was a double, the mattress was horrible, one side was well worn and you kept falling into your partner. The kitchen area was very old, dishwasher wouldn't close. No coffee maker, no dishes to use in the kitchenette. Very small space. Didn't even open my room and went back to ask for a different room as there were children screaming, they were on the second floor and could hear them in the lobby. They gave us another room, and on day two after 10pm they screaming again. Very loud, doors slamming at all hours. Breakfast was not good at all. Little choice, overcooked, and understocked. Waited for refill on break and coffee took a long time. Our experience was not good at all.

Unfortunately, even after attending g at the registration desk at 12:30 pm to inform front clerk that we would be arriving after 11:00 pm, we were told it wouldn't be an issue. No need to check in earlier. (I did complete the online check-in sent 24 hours ahead of date). When we arrived at the property about midnight, we had to knock hard on lobby doors several times; there was no entry buzzer/intercom, and no one was answering my cell phone calls directly to the front desk. A staff person, night clerk?, was finally walking through the lobby and helped us enter. We were told we were getting the "last available" room in the building. By now it was close to 12:30 a.m. There were no towels, soaps, any type of glasses or coffee maker in the room. Which, incidentally was a suite , and one would have expected it to be set up with kitchenware and extra bedding. We were happy to leave early the next morning.

The people who checked me in were nice enough, but disorganized. When we got our room, it looked very run down, with gouges in the walls, missing floorboards, etc. We weren't even given bath towels until we went to get them. When my husband asked for some, he was told people keep stealing them. The smell of marijuana permeated the halls all weekend. A key to our room was given to another guest in error, so strangers walked into our room. Nobody even apologized to us for this until my keycard was then inactivated and I had to go have it reactivated. I would not stay here again.

The rudest desk clerk that I have ever experienced in my life. Rude, disrespectful and completely inappropriate demeanor. Did nothing to address my concerns of non stop barking by 2 pitbulls next door… her reply was, and I exactly quote, “this is a dog friendly hotel… dogs bark…deal with it.” I demanded a conversation with the manager who did nothing but deflect and attempt to justify the dogs barking as service dogs-B.S.!! This hotel should sued for False Advertisement! Oh, I would highly recommend this if you are into drugs and late night visitation from apparently anyone that wants to come in and kick it with their friends….terrible, terrible stay.

Night time worker was sleeping 3 times we needed our room key reprogrammed.. total of 4 times. When she seen me recording her sleeping , she got very foul and preceded to call the cops and have me, my niece, and my children (who were sleeping) removed, and we were two hours from home. She called me every name in the book because I requested bedding for my pull out which they had no pillows for. Dirty, dirty place. Had to change rooms when we got there. Drug addicts, broken windows, and police were on site when we were about to grill dinner. Never had such a horrific experience. If you need drugs, this is your hotel!!

I rarely leave reviews, but this stay was beyond unacceptable. The Baymont Hotel was hands-down one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Cleanliness: Nonexistent From the moment we walked in, the hotel reeked of urine. The smell was nauseating and unavoidable. The floors were sticky, and every carpet was heavily stained—not just in one room, but throughout the property. It honestly felt like the place hadn’t been properly cleaned in months, if not longer. Safety & Security Issues We had three rooms booked. Two of them would not open with the key cards completely non-functional. The third room was even worse: the door was already unlocked when we arrived and wouldn’t lock at all. That’s a terrifying safety risk, especially in an area where police were already present on site due to other guest disputes. The environment was chaotic and concerning. Front Desk Service: Disgraceful Initially, the front desk staff promised a refund due to the situation, which gave us some hope. But after checking out, they refused to answer our calls and completely dodged responsibility. No follow-up, no refund, and no professionalism. Police Involvement Yes—you read that right. The police were there handling disputes with other guests. That should be a red flag to anyone considering staying here. Final Verdict: DO NOT STAY HERE. This hotel is in complete disrepair, unsafe, and managed with zero accountability. Spend your money elsewhere literally anywhere else would be better.

Room had a strong musty/sewer smell!. The carpet felt sticky. Crumbs on kitchen counter, cobwebs around mirror, and bathroom floor was dirty. We really like the room layout for our family and the refrigerator in the room. The location of the hotel was perfect for our trip but next time we will spend the extra money for a nicer property. The staff we dealt with were very friendly.

My room was clean but the hotel was not very well kept or clean in the common areas. Exit doors propped upon with rocks I’m assuming from long term stay people? Breakfast was offered but gone within 20 mins of serving and similar to gas station snacks. I stayed a whole weekend and never seen housekeeping once or had my towels refreshed. No trash can in my room either, thank god I had a Walmart bag for trash.parking lot was not clean, and the guests were cleaning their car in the parking lot out back as if it was a local car wash. If I could request a refund I would.

Breakfast could have been better it was very poor. We are diabetic and all selections were very high carb.

The room was excellent, with a mini-kitchen. I was there on a weekend, so the breakfast was lacking (e.g., no eggs or hot cereal). Improving the breakfast would be the best upgrade for this hotel.

Now that it is under Baymont, they have really stepped up their game, mainly the Contenental breakfast!

The so called free breakfast was pretty dismal. No coffee, not.much more than stale cheerios and old bread. That was at 810 AM.

This particular location had a really pretty lobby, a spacious room (I believe it was one of the extended stay rooms), a comfortable bed, and the staff was awesome. The only thing I would try to enhance or improve is the continental breakfast. They only had cereal, mini muffins, and bread for toast. Coffee was good. :)
