Suburban Studios Auburn Hills - Detroit

I thought I was booking a hotel room. What I got was more. I wasn't expecting a studio apartment and very affordable! The front desk staff were very friendly and respectful. We informed the front desk that there was an issue with our studio (no shower rod). We were immediately given another studio. We were informed that this place is still under construction to convert all rooms to studios. If you're looking for a hotel with restaurant, gym, pool, etc.... you will be disappointed. All we were needing was a room to sleep and we got more! We will definitely book here again. Oh big shout out to Isaiah. He's the best!

The staff at Suburban Studio Auburn were very pleasant. The front desk employee, Isaiah was super friendly and awesome. Isaiah was cery accommodating when our room didn't have the shower rod/curtain installed. We were promptly given another room. Isaiah went over and beyond to make sure we were happy. This place is very clean, even though they are still converting from a hotel to studios. I was very surprised with what we got for the price. Alot more than what I expected. Everyone needs to understand, this place is studio, it's in it's name- Suburban Studio. If you are looking for a 5 start hotel with a pool, gym, restaurant or even a continental breakfast, you will be very disappointed. I have reviewed previous reviews.... I was alittle upset with what I read.. This place is friendly and clean. Yes, there maybe guests that are staying more than a weekend or week. It's an "extended stay" I don't know what their life situation is, so who am I to judge, why someone is living there. The other guests were very friendly and respectful, as was I. In the future, if I need a place to stay (even a few days) I will be booking here again. I do recommend Suburban Studios Auburn.

DO NOT STAY HERE! I book a 14 day stay here that was cut short due to ROACHES!!! This ENTIRE HOTEL HAS ROACHES! The staff knows Michelle, Isaiah, Jeremiah & Matt. Upon arrival, the 1st room had no tissue or soap. Staff said hotel hasn’t had soap in three months. 3 days later I seen roaches in the room. I asked for a new room, this one smelled like piss and wasn’t clean. The third room they gave me was also infested with roaches. Every time I found a roach I demanded my money back. They told me it was no refunds. I slept in my car for most of my stay until I was able to speak to someone else! I still did not get a full refund. I got back the days I had remaining on my account. Do not stay here! 7/14/2025-7/30/2025 They’ve had roaches for over six months a true statement from their mouth!

Room Conditions: Upon entering my room, I encountered several issues: Sticky Food Residue: The floor was covered in sticky food remnants. Spills: The fridge and freezer contained spilled substances. Unsafe Stove Top: The rusty stove top appeared hazardous. Broken Dresser: The dresser was literally broken, rendering its drawers unusable. Persistent Odors: The pervasive smell of weed and cigarettes permeated the hallways and my room. Hygiene Concerns: Under the cabinet, I noticed what appeared to be Bug droppings. Overall Condition: The room felt unsanitary and unsafe. Lack of Amenities: There was no hot breakfast provided, which was unexpected. I doubt the existence of any maid service at your establishment. Management Response: When I raised my concerns, the response was dismissive. A simple acknowledgment of the issues was insufficient. I strongly believe that a refund is warranted given the subpar conditions. Future Considerations: I urge potential guests to choose an alternative—there are better options available. As a loyal customer, I am deeply disappointed by this experience. I hope you take immediate action to address these issues.

Leaky water all on bathroom floor. No toilet paper, towels unclean kitchen.

I checked in at the front desk and left out to get food at a local restaurant. When I got back to the room there was no bed in the room as it was just a frame. I the room was filthy and smelled of urine. The front desk receptionist was really rude and was unhelpful as he stated to me “your guess is as good as mine” I asked him what do I do from here. This is highly unprofessional and was by far the worst experience I have ever had in my life staying at a hotel.

Couldn't use the kitchen, stove top had rust on the heating surface, woke up to a roach in the bathroom, no lights worked besides the on in the kitchen, food just laying in a stairwell, to mcuh surprised this place is opened still will all the health violations i seen being broken.

Yes but the microwave needs replaced in 227 because it was burnt smell in it n i couldn't heat my food up

I was put into 3 different rooms. The first room the bed was broken and the TV didn't turn off. The second room had not been cleaned yet. The third room had a smaller bed than i had booked. The tv had a blue cast to it and there was no garbage can in the room, not even the bathroom. The toiletries were partially used. The gentleman working the front desk was awesome, he had a great attitude.

Came from Canada for a night here. We got a pair of double beds in a clean room. Perfect size complete with all basic neccesities. All operational. Great shower, hot water. Great room for the price. All staff were courteous, friendly and helpful.

Paid $78 for the room at 11am. Then had to sit in the lobby for 4 hours till 3pm to get the key card from the front desk. Even though the maid said she had multiple rooms ready at 1215pm. And to top it off at 3pm when. I got the key I notice that the same exact room went from $78, down to $50. So I paid an extra $30 just to sit in the lobby? I am very unhappy with the situation. The maid staff was the only good experience I had with this place. If I'm not compensates in some way I will absolutely not be revisiting the this booking site, or the hotel.
