We noticed the part of the property we stayed in appeared to be an older section when we went to Culver's next door for dinner. So this older section has been updated and looked about as good as it could for it's age. The grounds on the courtyard side looked nice and it sounded like kids were enjoying themselves at the pool, as they should. The newer portion at the courtyard definitely looked nicer. Location is very easy to find and close to the expressway. We were in town for a funeral and it was a fine place to rest, unwind and get some sleep. We plan to go to a nearby Denny's for breakfast. The front desk worker was the only staff we had contact with, although we did see some maintenance people in the courtyard. The front desk worker was pleasant and patient with my poor hearing and disability.

Booked a King room. Placed in a room with 2 Double beds. I asked about it and showed my reservation. Told I was wrong and no refund for the price difference. Remote for tv didnt work. Waited over an hour for a new one and had to go to the desk twice to remind them. Outside is beautiful, inside cockroaches greeted you. Bathroom was rough, trash on the counters and bullet hole in ceiling. Mind you, I didn't get rude or ask for anything. Just brought it to their awareness and was brushed off. $90 for nothing. Oh also zero breakfast or coffee.

Ice machine worked, pretty entrance, nicely kept courtyard. Things i didnt like were many. Got charged a 100.00 deposit fee when it should have only been 50.00 per your policy. Knowing that the next sucker will have a much cleaner room than i. Bathroom sink would t drain and pipes leaked. Room needs all updated furniture and appliances, including linen. Wont be back.

The first room, the door did not shut properly and was letting cold air in it was not the kind of room I reserved, and I had to move to another room because of the water heater going out and found a bedbug in the bed and finally got the room reserved

The good. Clean , convenient to highway and shopping needs. Bed was comfortable but springs make noise. Fridge was cold. The bad, bathtub drain's very slow, so if you want to stand in water up passed you ankles while showering, than I guess you would like that. Noisy, the walls are not soundproof. I was woken by the next rooms phone alarm. The outside noise is loud too, Cable tv channels turned off at midnight, still weren't on in the morning. Bed was comfortable but springs make noise. Be careful using the outside stairs, they carpeted over something that makes the steps bumpy, I could see an older person falling down them if not paying strict attention.

I’ve stayed here a few times the last 2 years & it wasn’t in that great of condition. Last night the room I stayed in had been redone, newer floors & Bed. I’m unsure if all the rooms have been done this way but the one last night was 3x better then the other 2x I stayed.

TV didn't work.Curtains let in too much light. Bed was too high. I had to get a step stool from my car to get into it. Mattress was mushy; not firm enough.

Wasnt a diamond resort but for the money was good. Only real issue we had was the lack of tv channels. Only had like 8-9 channels. 2 were shopping and 2 were religious channels. Just trying to find anything on to unwind before sleeping was bad.

There was a very long wait to check in because no was manning the Front desk. Quite a few people were waiting for service or to check in. Some sort of sign explaining the absence should have been placed at the front desk.

staff was rude and walked into our room one hour prior to checkout, the towels were stained and we only got 2 and the housekeeper was not very friendly when I asked for an additional towel. We had no remote in our room and waited 20 minutes to receive one. While I know this is no 5 star hotel but these are just common courtesy. We needed a clean room and a bed to sleep while we traveled and this provided us with about 3 good hours.

It took over 1 hour to check in. Red Roof Inn Battle Creek didn't ever acknowledge my booking until I called Hotels.com. One hour I'll never get back and nearly caused me to be late for my function. Disgraceful.

Checked in to room with inoperable deadbolt lock and a nasty bodily fluid stain on the comforter (pic attached). Went down and politely asked to change room, was rudely interrupted by lady at desk, saying "we'll change your room once and if you don't like the second room, we'll evict and refund you". Zero apology, acted like I was bothering her. It's not a matter of "liking" the room. It shouldn't be rented in the first place. She admitted that they didn't have a "don't rent" list of rooms and "I don't work 24/7 so I would have no idea if something was wrong". Second room, electric lock not working, couldn't even get in. Third room was dingy, with an HVAC unit that shook the floor and was very loud. And the TV didn't work. I was scared to complain again, since it was 12:30am and I didn't want to get kicked out. Next morning, new front desk person was much nicer, and he came up and fixed the TV so we decided to finish our second night. He did confirm that it's the hotel policy that "for any reason" if the second room isn't suitable, you get kicked out. Renters beware, if the room here isn't suitable, even if it's not a matter of opinion (safety, etc), they may just kick you out instead of helping you.

This was our 3rd time in as many months staying here. The first time was good. Nothing major. The room we were in was comfortable and pretty clean. Second, took over an hour to contact someone to check us in after a 5 hour drive. The directions to our room left us wandering around even longer. The third time was the worst. The room was dirty. Bedding was stained and dirty. Mattress was awful. There was even still a washcloth from the previous occupant. We appeared to be in a block of rooms that had several people living. This was clearly not a part of the building that they often used. There are countless issues that I could go into. Most to do with the disarray of property and staff. There are better options. Will be finding a new place to stay for next month's trip.
