The room were so clean and beds were comfortable, the location is so convenient it’s right by the ferry, it’s quite peaceful place, the staff are all amazing, breakfast is included and it has many options, at night they do s’mores around a bone fire, there are two pools and hot tubs indoor and outdoor, the facility is well maintained and all in anew condition, everything was perfect and we had blast staying here, the only comment I would have is just to use a different blankets instead of using two blankets just use one that matches everything, we would definitely come back here every time we travel to upper peninsula, we really loved the place.

Everything was excellent. No issues. Very clean, very friendly staff, beautiful view from most of the property. We never heard our neighbors. Breakfast was very good. Lots of choices. Things to note. The beds are a bit stiff/hard. (Pillows were amazing though) the check in area/ breakfast bar/ swimming pool are in a different building. So it was cold walking wet from the pool to our room. The beach is just a lot of rocks. No sandy beach. But still beautiful.

The Good: This is a clean facility with welcoming staff. The grounds are well kept up, the pools are cleaned every morning. The breakfast staff does well with keeping food stocked, even during the busiest part of the morning. The rooms are clean and the hotel was quiet for our 3 day trip. The evening fire and smores are a nice touch every night. This hotel is close to the ferry to the island. So much so we just walked down to get on. (they do have a shuttle as well). They also have staff that will give you rides from building to building on a golf cart if so desired. The Bad: The staff does do a great job with keeping things cleaning and working. But this hotel is nearing a needed renovation. All the wall & nightstand outlets are worn out! (room388) This was tough only sharing a few outlets between 4 people. So much so, I went to town and bought a few power strips. The beds are horrible. Squeaky, lumpy, and just uncomfortable. If you're a gym rat, skip this place. The 1 treadmill has a mind of its own and th one cable machine is borderline unsafe with handles that are broke and sharp that could cut you if you're not careful. Also, If your room is on the south end of the property, and you drive a full size vehicle, I would suggest parking as far west as you can. This is a dead end parking lot and it pretty narrow. Not impossible but not fun to park in.

Pleasantly surprised at how this place exceeded our expectations. Great pool & hot tub (we only used the outdoor one but they have them inside as well). Good breakfast, comfortable bed, walkable restaurant to go to and a very short walk to Shepler’s Dock for the Island.

Property was very clean. Beds comfortable. Location to ferry was great. Breakfast exceeded expectations. Staff was friendly. They had a wonderful gentleman named Sid who had a knack for showing up at the exact right time to provide an enclosed golf cart ride to lobby/ breakfast. Would definitely stay again

This is a really nice Best Western. The property is directly on the water which makes for a beautiful view. There are about 5 large units that are spaced well. Our unit looked out on the lake and some units were further back, but I think they all have lake views. The rooms and buildings are clean and pleasant. There is a complimentary breakfast in the first building and there is a cart that would drive us there. We preferred to walk it. There is in a door and outdoor pool that are well kept up. The property offers a bonfire with s’mores every night which was fun. There is also a complementary shuttle to take to the Ferry that was very convenient.

The entire property is pristine. Staff are constantly cleaning and ensuring that everything is well groomed. All staff were extremely friendly and professional. The rooms were immaculate. Great experience!

Got woke up around midnight by jed bugs biting. Checked the rook and found several. Took them to the front desk to show them. They apologized and said they would refund my room but im still waiting for that refund.

Room was dusty and old. Very loud at night with other guests yelling and running around. View was lovely. Staff friendly. Nice private beach. Busy at breakfast but they have gluten and dairy free options and food was hot. Checkin and out were great. Easy access to Macinaw Island with free shuttle service from hotel. Great for families not so much for couples.

The staff was very friendly and nice. We got in late. In the morning we looked out our balcony and a loon was singing and the pool and lake were right there. Beautiful views. The beds were comfortable. The carpets and room could use a cleaning, but the beds were clean.

Room had an aadjoining door to a room of teenagers. We traveled with our teens but these kids were so loud-yelling, laughing, pounding on walls, slamming doors. It lasted from 10pm-1am. Called 2 noise complaints to front desk, both nights we stayed. Otherwise room was very nice. I would request a non-adjoining room next time.

This is the second stay at this hotel and still did not disappoint. We had a lovely view of Lake Huron and it is within walking distance to the ferry for Mackinac Island. Staff is super! And, as always, enjoy our trips to breakfast courtesy of Sid. He's the best!

Located right beside the lake. The property is really nice. The only downside is that our room A/C was a window unit that didn't keep the room cool or the humidity down. We stayed in an older part of the property so the newer rooms may be nicer.

The hotel is in a great location, very convenient to the ferry for Mackinac Island, which made travel easy and stress-free. The grounds and room were relatively clean, which we appreciated. However, the room furniture felt quite dated, and there was a noticeable moisture/humidity issue—likely due to the carpet retaining dampness. Breakfast was decent, especially considering it was complimentary. Overall, the staff were friendly and accommodating, contributing positively to our stay.

This location was easy access to the ferry. Breakfast was good. Only complaint our air conditioner was leaking water on the floor.. Reported to the office the next morning. Dont know if they came to fix, as we used towels to absorb the water.

Although the photo of the property looks lovely, we DID NOT know there were a total of four different buildings where one might be, when staying here. We stayed in a building with three floors; no elevator. Typically not a huge dealbreaker, but two of the four of us have hip issues. We had to lug our cooler and luggage up three flights. Pain in the butt. Literally. To get a cup of coffee in the morning, we had to walk uphill to the main building, which is shown in this picture. Goofy setup where you actually walk behind the reservation desk to access the breakfast area, where several workers "stood guard" at each food or beverage station. Certainly didn't feel welcoming and I was almost embarassed to grab two coffees with cream while all of the onlookers just watched my every move. Saving grace; outdoor pool. The beds were comfy and our view was nice. I would have much rather stayed at ground level motel, which was part of the property, or at the building closest to the water, which appeared to have elevators! For the amount of money we paid, I would have expected far superior amenities and lodging.

Was given a different room then what I reserved. Ceiling creaking and could hear everytime someone moved above us. Otherwise stay was average. Friendly staff. Was told we would receive a discount for being given the wrong room, we will see if we get it.

Loved the room, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The view from the balcony was incredible. Special thanks to Jevon, he exceeded expectations. I am disabled, and could not walk from Ontario to breakfast. Jevon’s positivity and driving the was wonderful. Jevon’s driving the cart was expert, much better then the driver the second day. .

What a great trip! Grant was wonderful at check in! We came with friends and he was able to get us in the same building and on the same floor! It really made the stay for us! I'm so grateful for his help. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was nice with lots of choices. Our lake view was amazing and we really had a great stay! We would definitely stay here again. Thanks to the great staff!

Entry into the hotel is tight and confusing, but the staff is friendly and informative. Depending on where you stay the building you are staying in, the walk is a bit far and uphill. I believe they have a shuttle service, but I never asked. It didn't bother me. The lake view is worth any negatives. It is beautiful! The rooms are nice and clean, as well as the balcony. We enjoyed our stay so much! We would definitely return and we would recommend 100%.

Everything was quality. Cleanliness, updated rooms, service. There was a golf cart driver to run you up for breakfast. It was close to the lake AND close to the dock to Mackinaw, a block or two and very walkable. You could even walk to downtown if you'd like. Of curse, right on the lake with a huge hotel shoreline. Buy some lunch and use a picnic table to take it all in.

Nice hotel, good location. Walking distance to Shepler’s Ferry to get to Mackinac Island. Good breakfast at hotel. Love the lake views and balcony or patio. Quiet at night and everything closes early around the town. My wife and I would definitely stay again!

So the hotel is a motel style where all the doors are outside and you drive up to them. They have about 3 structures on the property that are the rooms. If you have more than one room they may be on a separate building like it was in my case. It's hard to see that when you book it online. That being said, i didn't mind it at all. The rooms where clean, breakfast was good and he view was incredible. We didn't feel unsafe and there are staff everywhere. They dint charge like a motel which means it doesn't attract unwanted guest but i could see where some might not care for that. Overall we had a great stay. One of the days was cloudy and we got to enjoy the indoor pool so our fun wasn't stopped. The ferry company we got to visit Mackinac Island was able to shuttle us from our hotel room. Super convenient! I have already recommended and i would definitely stay again.

It was advertised that breakfast was 6am-10am. Staff posted a piece of paper on the lobby door in the morning saying that breakfast was 6-9, causing us to miss breakfast based on the days we had planned. It was also advertised that we would be granted discounted Shepler’s ferry tickets, however we were told by staff that they didn’t have any and so the ferry was incredibly expensive.

Breakfast was good. Great selection from eggs, biscuits, bacon and waffles. Would have been nice to have Cranberry Juice and the only milk we found was skim. The staff was very helpful, and being able to buy tickets for the ferry and shuttle service was a great perk. Would definitely stay there again.

When are hotels going to start addressing their waste problems? The Best Western Harbour Pointe is not unlike many hotels of its type - serving breakfast on disposable tableware. First of all, the breakfast was kind of gross. The eggs were probably made from powder. Then there's the waste: Plates, cups, silverware - all single use and all thrown away. The garbage in the breakfast area was overflowing. I would think that, to the tune of $350 a night, they could do better. Despite this, the property was really cool with a central open area along the beach. It was a smart move to create this space. And it appeared that every hotel room had a view of the lake. We were in the Michigan building right next to the water. The room was clean and just the right size. Everyone we encountered who worked there was friendly and helpful.

Good motel near the lake. The water pressure in the shower head needs to be addressed. Breakfast choices were very good. Lots of options to choose from. The man driving the golf cart each morning was a wonderful addition. Was very friendly.
