Clean rooms, great views. You have to check in at the building by the road before you go down the hill, that is also where the breakfast is, pool is also in a separate building.

The patio in our room was a bonus - loved the view of the lake! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Parking got a little scarce late in the evening but it worked out.

Location was convenient. Free shuttle to sheplars was great. Breakfast was very basic. Hot tub was barely operational, jets seemed to be worn out and graffiti and residual on inside shows it had not been cleaned for a while. Pool was clean and nice however. Patio door did not lock!! Just the chain for security. Wallpaper was peeling off the wall. Bathtub was pretty stained and silcone around towel bars had some mold growing. Walls are pretty thin, so every shower turn on and toilet flush could be heard. Lakefront area is primarily stones not like what is pictured in the photos. Parking is difficult if you arrive back after dark. You have to park at the top of the hill and walk down. Ice machines were quite gross and slimy. Beds were sucken in the middle and not very comfortable. Staff was polite and i formative. With other options on the same street, I would not stay here again.

Staff were incredible We called ahead to let them know we would be arriving after midnight and they made sure someone was at the front desk to check us in. We got to our room and were delighted to open the sliding balcony door and hear the waves gently crashing below. The hotel has a beautiful sunrise view facing Lake Huron and Mackinac Island. Most rooms have this view. Our room was booked as 2 queen beds but the beds were certainly full, not queen, but still suitable. The room had lots of space and everything was suitable to our needs. Odds are if you're visiting this area you aren't in the room for much more than bedtime. Downsides would be that the breakfast was inadequate. They had muffins, breads, fruit, oatmeal, and waffles. But for anyone who needs protein with their breakfast, you're gonna have to get something else. There are also no fitness facilities on the property. Overall though, a great stay and exactly what we needed for the trip.

Everything was good. Only thing was that the balcony chairs had lots of cobwebs and bugs stuck to them, could've used some cleaning there. Other than that it was great.

The property was nice and we loved our room on the ground floor. We had a jetted tub in our room that was dirty and never did get cleaned. Our toilet was also dirty and never was cleaned. There was only one ice machine 50 yards across a parking lot. That was the same place the pool and hot tub was. Breakfast was 75 yards away up a steep hill. The view was great!

The parking was easy and convenient. The room was clean and somewhat quiet. I say somewhat because it was an adjoining room which they didn’t tell us at check-in, so we could hear everything from the next room. The balcony was nice with a great view of Lake Michigan. My only real complaint about the room was the sink didn’t drain very well at all. They did offer a continental breakfast but had NO tongs to use for the bread or muffins or the hard boiled eggs. Had keep using the plastic forks to get anything. Seemed weird…

Great place to lay our heads for a night. We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds and a twin. The twin had its own little alcove. Very spacious balcony overlooking the water. Definitely paying for the proximity to Mackinac Island. Bathroom could use some updates but was fine for our quick stay. There is very little soundproofing, if you are a light sleeper I would bring a noise machine. Breakfast was typical continental breakfast fare.

This hotel is right on Lake Michigan and our room had a balcony that overlooked the lake. There was no real beach however, there was a stretch of lawn that held a lounge chair. The room was quite large and the bed was extremely comfortable.

I liked the balcony, and the big bed. I didn't like the fact that I could hear the people upstairs walking and the people nextdoor conversing thru the walls. And the private beach is useless unless you wear hiking boots, like the whole shoreline in that area of Michigan it's rocks and bigger rocks.

This hotel is old. The elevator was broken. The ice machine was broken. In our room the bathroom fan did not work, the bathroom sink drain did not work properly, and the wheels on the chair at the desk did not work properly. The entire hotel looks old and outdated.

I have nothing bad to say about this place. I wished we could have stayed here our entire trip. Staff was amazing, rooms were updated and we stayed in one with a deck looking out onto Lake Huron. It was picture perfect. Wide variety for continental breakfast, too.

It was a perfect location to take the ferry if you are visiting Mackinac Island with the shuttle available for free if you call from Shepler’s. The view of Lake Heron from the balcony was gorgeous. If you are staying multiple days, the staff doesn’t always restock the towels and when they clean they leave the door wide open for bugs to come in. The staff was very nice besides that. Parking isn’t ideal if there are a lot of people staying the night, but people just made spots of their own…which worked. Great value compared to some of the other pricer hotels near it with a similar outdoor style to the other waterfront hotels. Would stay again!

Great location and staff. You can walk to many things including transportation to Mackinac Island. Short walk to restaurants ;shops ect ..Good continental breakfast. Staff very warm and friendly. Maintenance & housekeeping paid close attention to the property.perfect views of the water from your balcony.

Safe, quiet, plenty of parking. Nice staff. Within walking distance of the ferry and town (if you are a walker). Definitely the best money bargain and access to ferry to the island compared to Mackinac City and other places at the upper tip of the lower pen. We walked right up to ferry and hopped on. Next day with drove through Mackinac City and the line went for blocks and blocks.

This is a quaint little Inn on the lakefront. Amenities were good, staff was awesome, breakfast good and convenient. We usually stay in hotels which are more updated with larger rooms. The pictures make the rooms seem bigger and especially the bathroom. It was really tiny. Overall, the room was clean, and sufficient for our stay. We really loved the balcony just sitting, listening to the waves, seeing the fireworks from the island and especially sunrises. The desk clerk came to straighten out our confusion with the tv remote! Ferry shuttle pickup and drop-off was convenient.

It's really showing it's age. Definitely needs an update. The breakfast was a bit disappointing. No eggs, bacon or sausage. Waffle's were the only thing hot for breakfast.

This was a wonderful property for our stay to Mackinac Island. The facility was very clean, hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the Lake Huron view out our balcony was breathtaking! We did not expect the “lake view” to be so close and that we could see the island in the backdrop. This was the biggest plus of our stay here - make sure to request “lake view”! Also, we were pleasantly surprised that they had a free shuttle for Shepler’s Ferry. We had already bought tickets prior to our arrival so we were expecting to just drive ourselves there. This was very convenient since the parking lot was full at the ferry. A few things that could have been better, but really don’t impact my rating. The bathroom was dated and shower didn’t have the best water pressure. The toilet also sat really low. Also, the breakfast didn’t include eggs or meat, but just bagels, toast, cereal, etc. Depending on when you arrived, there wasn’t always a table to sit at for breakfast due to a small dining area. If we ever come back to Mackinac Island, we’d love to stay here again!

Only thing preventing an overall fifth star rating was the lack of variety of foods for breakfast. Waffles and cereal - weak. Perhaps the hotel website should say coffee, fruit, pastries and waffles. As presented, one assumes eggs and sausage, and oatmeal, at least.

It is a nice hotel, and the staff was super nice however the breakfast wasn't so great and in the room the freezer wasn't working so our leftover ice cream melted allover
