Super 8 by Wyndham Red Wing

The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast that was provided by the hotel. The only thing we didn't like was they did not have snack vending machines, only soda.

The room was clean…beds were comfortable. Both restrooms at pool area were FULL of poop and had not been cleaned in days!!! You couldn’t flush them! We didn’t dare use the pool or hot tub not knowing what condition they might be in!

When we checked in and were told the pool/hot tub were not working, and that was one of the reasons we reserved there, we were upgraded to a room with a whirlpool tub. Great customer service! Very appreciated!

Disappointed would be the word that comes to mind. Booked the hotel so my kids could swim and since they chose not to maintain the pool we couldn't swim. The water was close to freezing temps and even kids said they wouldn't swim in it. Very, very disappointed.

pool and hot tub did not work as advertised has not worked for sometime looked like swamp water one of the reasons we went there was to enjoy the hot tub was our 15th anniversary very disappointing looked nothing like you advertised very unhappy

The only good thing I have to say is the room was clean. Having said that the hotel was horrible. The pool was slimy and unusable. The hot tub was shut down. The two vending machines were broke and the building was literally unkept. Definitely not a pace I would stay or recommend to anyone.

Staff was very kind....very dated...needs upgrade ..beds uncomfortable....one of reasons we chose was hot tub...it was closed. Wouldn't be a first choice...but for $ it was ok.

Can tell it was an older hotel. Free breakfast was still using Covid protocol and only seating for 10 people. Hot tub - no working jets, water was warm though stayed 2 nights - no clean towels - I had to go to desk 2 times to ask for pool towels, and shampoo/conditioner and regular towels for usage.

Hotel is clean. Manager/owner is happy to help and eager to greet you with a smile! We had everything we needed. This trip didn't allow us to take advantage of breakfast, so not sure what was available. Indoor pool looked nice and the water was warm, not freezing cold as it was outside!

Dirty and uncomfortable.

The room smelled extremely musty when I got there. I had to go buy an air freshener it was so bad. There was hair in the tub when I went to take a shower. The carpet felt damp and sticky. Not much for breakfast offerings unless you wanted to load up on Twinkies and Hostess cupcakes.

The halls smelt, the service desk lady was rude, we got charged double what i was given for an amount, the paint job stunk, and the bathroom still had used crap stains in the toilet. The breakfast was nothing the website stated it would be and the bed smelt like someones day old laundry mess.

I have stayed here several times before while in Red Wing visiting family. My rooms have always been very clean and quiet, even when on the side facing the train tracks. In-room frig and microwave have always been cold and clean. My only complaint is the distance from the lobby/breakfast area to the wing of rooms, but that is a minor inconvenience. There is close parking to the rooms. Pool area is very nice with a convenient set of bathrooms and shower. Breakfast is basic and on busy weekends is sometimes slow to be refilled. I have stayed at several other hotels in town, but this is my hotel of choice.

Room was filthy. Holes in the doors, no screen on the window and windows did not latch completely. Horrible odor in the room. Sheets and blankets were stained. Drawers on dresser were broken. No cover on outlet next to beds. Not worth the money I spent

Everything was clean and the area is easy access to travel

This is a very dated but clean an comfortable. It is very reasonable price!

It smells bad, it's dirty in hallways and rooms. Made the mistake of peeling back sheets to check for bedbugs, mattresses filthy, stained and disgusting. The while facility is run down and gross.

Our door didn’t lock with a dead bolt, there wasn’t a smoke detector the wires were hanging from the ceiling, there was a light in the middle of the ceiling that was being replaced, but the wires were hanging down, our hot and cold water was turned around, and there was hair in the bathroom

For $140/night, I would expect the pillows to not be complete and utter crap. We went to the front desk to try and get more, and they were all out. Apparently the pillows in all room were garbage. Seriously, UPGRADE YOUR PILLOWS!

Stayed on the main floor. Our rooms bathroom was very small, the door nearly hit the front of the toilet when opening. To get out of it was tricky. The hallway and room smelled musty, im assuming from the pool being on the main level, and most likely lack of proper ventilation. The Ac unit worked, although it was noisy and kept kicking on and off through the night. This is a place to stay if your a construction worker working on the road and need an inexpensive place to crash.

This was definitely not worth $160 a night. The tv didn't work in either room. In one of our rooms on the first floor the window was left unlocked and slightly open. They only put 2 towels in a double queen room.

Room was clean but the TV didnt work and becausevitvwas midnight they would have some able to look at it untl the next morning. Then I woukd think in 2024 that all bathrooms would either have a higher toilet or at the very least had handicapped rails. This one did not. I was happy to have gotton a room on the first floor. Also all there was for vending machines was soda. Would have liked a snack machine as well.

usually good choice for a hotel…but the room was old and noisy (didn’t realize train went right by) and the toilet and sink in the bathroom was very low.

Cannot complain too much for the price, but would definitely would upgrade to a newer stay next time in the area. Our room had a bad smell to it. To shut the bathroom door, you practically had to step into the tub. The rack to hang your clothes was right along side of the bed and when Tami got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, one of the coathangers poked her in the eye. Very small, and in need of upgrading. But if you are simply looking for an cheap place to stay in Redwing, it will work for you if you are just looking to crash there at night and not actually spend much time in the room.

Hotel is quite old. Room had a musty smell. Lots of work to be done - paint in bathroom where towel bars and toilet paper holders replaced and general upkeep. Door chain didn’t work. Air conditioner could be updated - thankfully I had a fan - room was quite hot. For the amount of money we paid, I expected a bit more (almost $200 for a two queen room).

Old rundown but surprisingly clean and comfortable beds. Checked in everything was okay, went out for the evening, came back, couldn't get into our room, key card wouldn't work. Also had brought back hot food which was not hot anymore by the time we got into our room. Went to the front desk, which by the way is way at the front of the hotel, our room was way in the back in between a long Corridor and the pool area in the back building, attendant reprogrammed our keys, didn't work. Went back to the front desk and the attendant said she would be up in a minute with the master key to let us in the room. Attendant came up with the wrong keys had to go back across the whole hotel to get the right keys. We thought it might be the battery in the door so we went back to the front desk and got a new battery, actually ended up getting several and several more trips to the front desk and that didn't fix it. I am a smoker so I had to prop my door open if I wanted to go outside and smoke cuz I couldn't get back into my room for the rest of the night unless I want to walk all the way back to the front of the hotel to have the attendant let me in my room as the owner stated he would be in the morning to fix it. Also the toilet ran constantly it was so loud and ran so much that we ended up turning the water off, then back on when we needed to use it. Talked to the front desk at check out about the problems and they said sorry that's it!

Staff very nice

The hotel was terrible. The main reason we chose this hotel was because it had a swimming pool and a hottub and they were broke down even though none of the websites reflected that and there was no sign or anything even on the door or up at the office. The first room we were in said non smoking, but wreaked of smoke and was had our kids throats hurting bad by morning (we couldn’t go switch as we got there at 2 in the morning) they moved us the next day and this room smelled better, but all the towels in the bathroom had already been used and were just hanging as they “forgot” to change them. The lady at the front desk knew we were upset after the rooms and the pool and then called us to offer a discount and we said that would be great, then she said her manager would be in the next morning and she was going to call them, but never did and then they said they didn’t have anything wrote down for that kind of offer!

Very prompt front desk, clean and comfy rooms, plenty of parking and good breakfast

I went to check in at 3.15 and rang the phone rang the phone no one came to check me in till 3.50 and got no receipt for my payment

The staff was super friendly. The Iowa maintenance man was very helpful. I had no towels in my room when I checked in-staff was quick at getting me some.

Booked one night stay with a non-refundable rate the same day we needed to stay - as we were traveling through in the process of moving. We chose this hotel because we have one cat and it was listed as “pet friendly” with dogs welcome and other pets considered. We noted that we were traveling with a cat. They did not allow the cat even though he was kenneled. They were rude and flat refused to refund the booking. On top of that, the property is very run down. Musty smelling, outdated by decades, dark, and extremely over priced - glad we didn’t stay there in the end. However, they still do not deserve to keep our $160.

Staff was friendly and willing to help. Property itself was rundown. I had ground floor room (110) that had cracked window, inoperable door lock, bathroom light didn’t work. The odors in hall and room were foul. I could detect the scent of cleaning agents though. The cleaning staff did their job, room was clean but there is so much wear and tear on this property that no amount of cleaning will help. It needs a major renovation.

hard to find off of main street, had a quiet night which was good, layout of hotel was kinda wierd alot of old airconditioning and junk furniture in halls it was ok for one night would stay somewhere else for next time or extended nights

Located on the bike route in Red Wing and an easy walk to Perkins

Stayed here before and like it but I think it is a bit over priced for the service and condition. Breakfast is barely okay. Conveniently located across the street from a Beerstube and basically right off Hwy 61. 10 minute drive from T.I instead of paying their ridiculous prices.

Somewhat shady area, ran off some guys shining cell flashlights into cars. Great Mexican restaurant within walking distance. Room was clean and comfortable. More lights in parking lot would be helpful.

We had a King room, very spacious and we were able to give our pet it's own space, once we moved the chair a bit, which was great for her. We stayed in the back building which was relatively quiet, with the occasional noice in the hall. The pool was small but the water was crystal clear. For breakfast they offered hot eggs folded over cheese, sausage links, waffles (premade like store bought), pastries, bread, yogurt, cold and hot cereal options. Unfortunately, they didn't have any juice. It was a great breakfast, they were actually out of the eggs when we came in at 8:00am but they made more! We found them very accommodating. (They do have a $15.00 pet fee)
