I thought that the property was clean, and pretty well maintained. I don't typically write anything as excellent because then it would have to be perfect, so giving four stars is very good in my opinion. I appreciated the many towels and places to sit in the pool area, but I was not fond of always having to find a front desk person to come and turn the lights on every time we went into the pool area. Plus, the sauna switch made a weird noise when we turned it on so we turned it back off and didn't use the sauna. The room was nice but I did not feel it was worth the amount we paid for it. It was a standard two-bed room.

Overall stay went well. Restaurant service once again very slow at the Grille. Even family said you were right - it’s slow like you predicted. 4th floor ice machine broken. Room was very nice and service to grant our upgrade to a family suite for more room for kiddos was well received and accommodated. Good and responsive service. When visiting family in Winona - you are the go to place. Thanks.

Lovely hotel. It’s really nice. The pool area is not run of the mill. It has a huge hot tub, lots of natural light and a delightful pool for small children. There is nice seating everywhere in many unexpected places. It is so comfortable here.

The hot tub, bath tub/bathroom were ALL filthy. The water in the pool was TOO cold. Oh, there was a bug crawling in the hot tub. When I went to turn on the floor lamp there were tortilla chip crumbs and other crumbs behind the lounge chair in the corner. I have more complaints but I'll stop at this. All I know is that I will NEVER stay there again when I come in town to visit family. And you guys advertise that you're sooo clean, NOT....

Very nice hotel and bar/restaurant. Staff was pleasant. We weren’t aware that our room wouldn’t be cleaned after first day unless we asked, so it never got freshened up/ clean towels. Apparently if you stay more than one day you have to sign up for cleaning, but we weren’t aware. No one explained this to us and no notes in room. I understand wanting to preserve on towel washing, but it is nice to come back to a clean room; especially bathroom. It was otherwise a nice stay, quiet, and offered lots of amenities. Would definitely come again.

Great place to stay nice sheets,nice fluffy towels. Had a double queen room it was nice and big Lots of times feel i have to wear shoes or flip flops in motel rooms,this place felt extra clean. Stayed on the 1st floor so we had a patio door to walk directly to our vehicle. That was nice.

Box elder bugs everywhere. We killed at least 8 in our room before sleeping & then found even more in the morning. The staff member working the continental breakfast was incredibly rude for no reason. I had seen her keys and a card on the counter and had announced that someone had forgotten their keys (thinking it was a mom) and she responded "they're mine, not yours" and I was just amazed... It was so unnecessary, since I only mentioned it because there were so many people down there. She continued to throw herself around without excusing herself and just be rude to other people looking navigate this tiny room with no space to really prepare food. Staff like that need to quit or work in a different area. It was just over the top and not needed that early in the day. Overall it was fine, the room was clean other than the bugs. You'll have that this time of year though. Staff needs to either have a coffee break or take a deep breath before dealing with customers. Yikes.

This is a high end property, but as with any older facility, some things can do with an update. Our spacious, king suite could use a new couch, and the bathroom needs a new toilet and some attention to remove darkened caulk. Bed is excellent, and the 3 rooms (bedroom, livingroom with fireplace, bathroom) were clean. With the bedroom the farthest from the door and actually having glass doors, if you want to close them, we could not hear any sounds from the hallway- always a plus!

The location of the hotel with the connected restaurant and bar which were very good, is the highlight of the hotel. The room I was given, at 3pm in the afternoon, was never cleaned. I went down to the desk and was given another room which was fine. It was considered an upgrade, but really not needed. The desk person never said sorry for the bother, just punched up the new room. There are not many hotels in the area, but I would probably go with the Holiday Inn next time.

I had 2 nights over the weekend reserved and prepaid online a month prior come to date we check in and they refuse my stay because I’m 20 not 21 but there website said nothing about that and had already charged my card so we had to have a associate drive down and put there name down and still they charge me so my money was green enough for the stay but not to book a room they also have you put your age down when booking a room online so they saw I was under 21 and still let me reserve a room and changed my card. They weren’t helpful or understanding of my frustration when the issue came to light also they didn’t give us room service after I had called the desk and asked a clerk

The room itself was fine - a good size, quiet, and seemed fairly clean except for a little spot in the corner of the bathroom floor (there was a little bit of some type of red substance there). Breakfast was good and pool area was decent. The biggest issue that my family and I had was with customer service. When checking in, we tried to ask about what fun things there were to do in town. The first person checking us in literally said “Well, there is really nothing to do here in Winona”. She then called over a colleague to see if she had any ideas, and this second employee told us (with a rather crabby tone) to just look at a pamphlet at the edge of the counter and that she couldn’t help more because she said she was busy doing her HAIR! I have a sister who is going into the hospitality industry who was laughing about the fact this is exactly what NOT to do when you are supposed to be working the front desk. It just did not set a very good tone for the stay. We had a few other interactions like this with the second employee over the entirety of our stay, which was very off-putting.

The lady at the front desk during our stay was not very friendly. When I asked for a total of my stay she couldn't do the math to give it to me and was snotty in her response when I politely asked her for it. I would not stay at the location again because of her snotty attitude.

Older woman at front desk didn't even acknowledge me when I checked in so a younger gal very nice helped me out. The older one ignored me and just kept speaking with the younger employee so the younger employee stepped in to check me in. She was lovely. The older employee seemed like a manager possibly should at least when she is at the front of the desk when you walk in at least greet you if in fact she is not going to assist in your check in.

The woman that checked us in was very rushed, and I’m not sure why. There wasn’t anyone else looking to check-in when we were there. She then said, “are you here for the graduation?” I said, “no,” and she said, “well I have to put something down. Why are you here?” So weird. She didn’t say anything to us about breakfast or WiFi just “checkout is at 11.” I’ve stayed here before, so I know the drill, but this left a sour taste in my mouth. Around 1am, I noticed a dripping sound coming from outside of my window, and it was a constant drip for hours. Talk about a terrible night sleep!! Lastly, I was charged a different amount than what I was quoted, so now I’ll have to deal with that this morning. Not a good stay.

We really enjoyed staying here. It's a beautiful hotel. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. It's clean and quiet with a great pool area. The attached restaurant, River City Grill, has great pizza. The only drawback would be that the continental breakfast was not that great but I had my left over pizza and I was fine :)

Very nice hotel. Had restaurant attached that was good food and drink. The bed was a little hard for my comfort and you had to do the twist to get to the toilet paper. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast could of been better. Jimmy Dean sandwiches you heated up yourself.

Remote control for TV did not work. Took two trips to the front desk to address the issue. I would suggest having staff bring the new remote or fresh batteries to the room. There were two people at the front desk that were not busy at all. Most places I stay at would have delivered to my room.

Hotel isn't bad, just slightly dated. Beds are rock hard. Breakfast was rather sad, microwavable sandwiches and other cold breakfast items. We went to Kwik Trip across the street to better satisfy us for our breakfast needs. Shower was great. We would stay again if we're in the area.
