Absolutely gorgeous place to stay. Great bed and excellent service. We did have issues with both tv remotes and parking. We were encouraged to valet park because there were no free spots left but valet parking was a pointless expense because the parking lot is so close to the hotel. I don’t know why anyone would use valet services other than because they were told they should

The hotel has a beautiful indoor pool and hot tub, both were being worked on throughout our stay as the water temps were cold in each. We chose this hotel based on the pool access.

This is a great getaway location for a recharge. The property has convenient walking, an indoor saltwater pool, morning yoga classes, and is walkable to the Taos square. I adore my time here.

Grounds pleasant and beautiful but no seating available on lawns. Mandatory valet parking we did not care for $35 per day resort fee we were not aware of Dining good but very expensive

Way too many plastic bottle and no recycling available. Yoga each morning was excellent. Loved the location and service. The valet was a pain, would prefer parking our own car. Would have liked some hiking trails on the property. More history about the architect and the land.

Lovely spa. Liked being able to txt for needs. Sadly services in the spa were full so couldn't enjoy the services i wanted while i was there

Very disappointing. Dirty mirror, dirty bathroom fixture, glasses and utensil from previous guest sat outside door for duration of my stay, water damage in toilet and bath area, etcetera. This place needs upkeep!

We had an amazing stay at El Monte Sagrado. The property and rooms are beautiful. Excellent service, felt well taken care of from the moment we pulled up trough check out. It is a 10-15 minute walk to town and the hotel also offers a 24/7 shuttle that can take you anywhere within 3 miles. The pool is also beautiful, feels like you’re in a botanical garden.

Hot tub wasn’t working first night

Beautiful property. It has one of the most beautiful indoor pools I’ve ever been in. 10 feet deep, the round pool with dark emerald tiles surrounded by green vegetation gives you the feeling that you are swimming in a cenote. We wished we had another day to spend it in there.

Friendly staff, beautiful grounds, clean and quiet.

Our room was clean and well kept. The location was great and the bed was super comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.

There were only a couple of goods to the stay. The rest was bad, bad bad upon check-in the night desk clerk was absolutely amazing! Very helpful, very knowledgeable and went above and beyond and pretty much ends. There decided to go have a couple drinks at the bar at which point Bartenders were working and one of them was extremely rude to us to the point when I asked for the address to the hotel so I could order a pizza for dinner as the restaurant was closed. You have a phone look it up yourself. I was extremely taken back and blown away that hotel of this caliber which its customers like this… we proceed to the room only to find that it was less than stellar condition. It looked like it had not been dusted or vacuumed in quite a few days of the molding falling down the tub was extremely filthy, and the beds were very creaky and loud. we then went to get ready the next morning and check out and upon packing clothes, items of clothing and undergarments that did not belong to us stuffed under the beds, along with lots of trash under the beds, as if they had not been moved in months upon inspection in the hotel room and just really not expect from a four star hotel we did eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant which was absolutely amazing but the waitress seemed very uninterested in assisting us. Val around and was very respectful. Management was advised of the issues and while they did listen seem to not believe This. Definitely wouldn’t stay here again.

Beautiful facility but there was no attention to detail. Vents were dirty in the room, carpet was dirty. Things were left in the hallways, dirty dishes and a shower chair for multiple nights. After mowing the sidewalks were covered with grass that could have been blown off. Like I said just details that would take it up a notch.

Loved the location and the grounds of Monte Sagrado. We stayed in the hotel section (building 4). My general impression is that this place “has seen better days.” In our guest room, the sliding glass door was very difficult to open, a picture was missing over the fireplace, and the coffee cups were not replaced after use, and the carpet was not vacuumed the last cleaning. We visited the pool are, but didn’t get in because the water was so murky. On a more positive note, the valets and the reception staff were all very friendly.

Lovely property, but room was not clean.

We only stayed one night and wish we could have stayed longer. Staff was very friendly, facilities were clean and well maintained. We did not eat in the dining room. Food in the lounge was just ok but the bartenders were very friendly and service was great.

Quiet and serene property near Taos plaza. Enjoyed the large room with a gas fireplace, sunk in tub, and outdoor seating area. Good conversations at the hotel bar in evening with other guests and bar tenders. Would stay again.

Rooms was too dark and old. I was expecting a bathtub with a Jacuzzis as seen on pictures, but there wasn't one.

A front desk staff member was loudly speaking to a non-front desk staff member to get off the computer so we could be checked in. He refused and they had words. It was very unprofessional all the way around. Once the person got off the computer a front desk staff sat down and checked us in. Not one staff member said a word to us, like we apologize for the exchange we heard. It was very uncomfortable and not a great start to our stay. The room was missing a picture above the fireplace. The beds were not made with fitted sheets. We dined in the bar and the food and service was good, but felt wonky because people felt hurried and sadly no real connection was made between us and the staff. We do want to give props to the shuttle services to and from town. These staff members were excellent and we made a connection on the ride into town.

Room was clean and comfortable. However, there was NO water pressure in the bathroom. Water from faucet just drizzled. Water in shower was barely adequate to rinse.

One of the most beautiful resorts we’ve stayed in. The room was very spacious, clean and well decorated. The mattress was the best I’ve slept on and the grounds were beautiful. Every staff person we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Some things, like the whirlpool in the room and in the pool were not working… beautiful grounds… big old trees…nice.

As always the room was clean and the view from the patio was unbelievable. We loved sitting on the patio and watching the goldfish and listening to the stream. This is the 4 time we have stayed here and have always enjoyed it very much. To us Taos is a special place and El Monte has made it even more special.

This place embodies the very enchantment that every license plate calls out. Incredible grounds, interior design, and room amenities (fireplace, stone jacuzzi tub, waterfall shower). The restaurant is exceptional (get the chile relleno) The pool area felt a tad bit outdated. But still felt clean and very refreshing. The hotel shuttle service is also great because it’s hard to find an Uber past 9pm. But just be aware that the wait could be upwards of 30min. Make sure you try on the luxurious robes

Everyone at the resort was helpful and pleasant. The rooms are very dark and need to be updated. The grounds were shabby. I would not recommend a friend to stay here. Rooms definitely need more outlets. Hard time having any privacy in the bathroom because the doors from the bedroom overlooking the tub in the bathroom would open anytime one would shut the door to the bathroom.

For what i paid, i expected a lot more. We stayed in the global suite #20. The fire place timer didn't work and it was handing out of the wall with wires and all. Three real reason this was really bad, the thermostat didn't work. It was either 90 degrees or 40 degrees. There was no in the middle. We slept so hot and uncomfortable even with a window open. The coffee maker was dirty and didn't work. The room itself was very cute, the beds were great, the best part of this hotel is their spa! Omg the spa is amazing and all of their staff are wonderful. 5 out of 5 stars for the spa! You can't stay there and not get treatment. It's a must. The real kicker for the hotel for me was their staff in the hotel. On our 3rd day they called to asked of i wanted room service. I said yes, if they could at least make the bed and get me more towels, would be great. Then i started telling her about the thermostat. How it didn't work. Mid way thrub telling her she stopped me and said.... just then down the thermostat. I told her we has tried. Instead of working that out she told me to open my door for the house keeping. I told her i couldn't we weren't there. What in the world? She then proceeded to argue with me about someone being on the room. After telling her everyone in the room was woth me, she just hung up. We get back to the room and the robes that were on the bed was on the floor, the foot cover blanket was on the floor, and the towels were on the bed.

Came back to the hotel after getting soaked by rain and hailstorm to discover there was no hot water. We obviously had to forego showers prior to going out for the evening. We were offered free breakfast vouchers for the inconvenience. The following morning while getting ready (using the restroom) housekeeping knocked, walked into the room even though the DO NOT DISTURB sign was on the outside door handle. After that debacle we went to the front desk. While receiving the voucher we were vehemently told by the front desk it was not for the lobster benedict. After approaching the restaurant staff to be seated it was again reiterated it was not for the lobster benedict. Right after our server came over and saw the voucher on the table we were then told AGAIN it was not good for the lobster benedict. I said to Landon the waiter that I was aware I saw the fine print at the bottom of the voucher as well as being TOLD 2 times previously. At which it was pointed out that he had to be extra firm and hit it home that the lobster benedict was not included. Of the numerous places I've patronized I've never been made to feel as a though I was a simpleton. To wrap up the stay breakfast was the absolute worst we have ever tasted. It was so vile tasting we assumed the kitchen had a discussion with Landon. As we both had different menu items and both we equally distasteful.

Beautiful property, clean, and attention to details. The service is magnificent! Valet, shuttle, receptionist, all are kind and receptive.

Your only choice is to leave the Hotel if you want a nightcap. That is both ridiculous and dangerous!!!! And the room cleaning staff is inept, leaving our room with dirty mirror, no coffee and no cups

The property is gorgeous, serene, and inviting. However, the best aspect may be the staff. Every single staff member from reception to maintenance was friendly, helpful, and engaging. You don’t often experience this level of hospitality. We will definitely return!

I stayed here for a solo trip for my first trip to Taos on my birthday. My stay here has got to be one of the best experiences I’ve had! I’ve stayed at boujie hotels in several cities before but the level of customer service here outdoes them all!! They made me feel so VIP and even welcomed me with a birthday card and goodies, such a great personal touch! From the moment I arrived I was always greeted by my name and that goes a VERY long way on its own! One of the best experiences and customer service I have encountered! I was very sad to leave but I am excited to visit again in the future!

Property is beautiful, peaceful and convenient to everything in Taos. Staff extemely friendly and helpful. Food at the resort was delicious. Free transportation to and from locations within three mile radius of property was a real plus, and the drivers were very nice and reponsive (we especially enjoyed conversation with Paxton).

The staff is fabulous. They go above and beyond to ensure a great stay.

This property is really within walking distance to the Taos Plaza, yet the resort offers a shuttle to wherever you want to go! Walked around the large property to view the various ponds some with goldfish, gardens, flowers and landscaping - all so relaxing and beautiful. Tooks plenty of photos!

We had a wonderful time. Ate dinner and breakfast at restaurant and both meals were excellent. Also, used the shuttle service to Taos Pueblo and the Plaza and the service was pleasant and convenient. The location is a very easy walk to The Plaza for shopping and dining.

Wonderful location and beautiful property. Looking forward to coming back.

The dinner was one of the bet meals I have ever eaten.

Food at the restaurant was horrible. Our burger was overcooked, French fries were burned, and ribs were tough and poorly seasoned. Everything else was lovely.

This resort was exactly what we needed. Everything about it brought a sense of relaxation and calm. The yoga classes were wonderful, the pool is beautiful, and all the food we tried was delicious.

The accommodations, grounds, service and the restaurant were all very nice. We would happily stay there again.

Amazing hotel property, but the furniture and style of the rooms is outdated. The suite we stayed in had gas leak in the fireplace and a clogged sink. Staff was quick to respond to the issues, but it was still inconvenient and uncomfortable for us. We had a very poor experience in the bar with Zachary, he was dismissive with an attitude and took care of others before us. We had to wait 30 minutes for drinks and received a mixed up order. The overall experience should have been 5 stars, but it was 3 at best.

The hotel was gorgeous, lovely property and peaceful feeling. The valet & front desk was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was good, but not great. Food was mediocre and expensive, and we waited a long time for food and drinks more than once.

The hotel, marketed as a luxury destination, was aesthetically unkempt and in urgent need of cosmetic renovations and repairs. The interiors were dirty, with patched walls and a noticeable mold smell. The staff seemed stressed and unhappy. Additionally, amenities such as the bar and restaurant were unavailable due to a wedding reception.
