Very unique atmosphere & very historic elements. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The parking area has a small entryway with limited parking spaces & not very easy to navigate with a large vehicle but, I guess that's all of Taos.

Beautiful historic building in a great location with free parking. Our room in the main building was clean and spacious. Free coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the lobby in the morning and live entertainment in the evenings. A bar and restaurant right in the hotel a lovely bonus.

While understanding that the Inn is historic, this shouldn’t mean not well maintained. Unfortunately, our room had a carpet that was very old and stained and had not been thoroughly vacuumed. The room had very small windows and was quite dark with poor lighting. This was due to the location of the room itself and I’m sure that other rooms were not so hobbit hole-like. Also, for such a historic location, I would have expected the exterior to be better maintained. It needs a lot of TLC and the grounds could certainly be better kept. The staff was excellent - very friendly and helpful. The location is also perfect except for the street construction that was going on (would have been nice to be informed of this beforehand). The restaurant is wonderful and the nightly entertainment is the highlight of staying at this property. Unfortunately, the bar staff was very overworked and it takes forever to get waited on, but when you’re listening to the music, you don’t really care. I would perhaps stay at the Inn again, but not in a corner courtyard room that is much like a cave. Lastly, the property definitely needs some “sprucing up” to make it a more desirable place to stay.

The carpet in the hallways and the stairway looks like it hadn't been vacuumed for weeks. The upholstered chairs in the bedroom were disgusting, time to reupholster. The room slanted so badly that our heads were much lower than our feet while sleeping. I understand it is a "historic" inn, but seriously, updates can be made! Bed was extremely uncomfortable. The only good thing about our stay was the person who checked us in, she was very nice and accommodating. Oh, and the plants outside were beautiful.

Clean rooms and amenities in the room were awesome. Courteous, friendly staff. Front desk staff were exceptional. Live music was great. We enjoyed sitting outside our room listening to the live music. We will definitely return. Thank you!!!

We loved having a room with a kiva fireplace! Room was clean and comfortable but we could easily hear the neighbors as they came and went. The bartender makes great cocktails and we enjoyed have a drink and lounging at the bar. Perfect location to walk around the square!

The hotel rooms need to be refurbished. Some bugs in bathroom. Loud AC unit which was falling off the wall, parking not so easy with a large vehicle. Friendly staff, great location, old time vibe.

I’m staying in a room with two single beds on the second floor of the main building. The room is old, small, and worn out. The floor creaks loudly with every step, and the lobby downstairs gets very noisy at night, making it hard to sleep. The location is convenient since it’s in the city center, but I wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

The cooling system was so loud you could not sleep through it. We stayed in room 111, we were traveling for a few days and wanted a resting day in between flying home. Got no sleep at all.

The location is great for being in central Taos, but the room I stayed in was a very old building with serious issues. The floor in my room in front of the sink was giving away under the carpet, and was very squeaky in the room. The mattress sagged badly in the middle and needs to be replaced.

It was great EXCEPT the A/C in Sandoval House was shut down for the season and it was too warm to sleep comfortably sleep until the cool front came through on Thursday 10/16. i did not get a good night's sleep until then. I know you want to keep things as authentic as possible, but I strongly suggest that you install those white, horizontal cooling units inn rooms without independent A/C.Too warm to sleep well

Nice old inn, just as advertised. Don't expect modern or fancy, expect cozy and local New Mexican style. The lobby and the little common alcoves & balcony around it are lovely. There are outdoor areas to sit and enjoy. Plenty of parking. Short walk (5 min) to Taos Plaza. No breakfast included, but there are coffee tea, etc. in the lobby in the morning. The staff were VERY helpful when we encountered a logistics problem with our trip.

I love staying at Taos Inn!! I love the uniqueness!! Our room was okay but the trying to take a shower this morning we had warm water - the handle had to be just right to even get that. This time checking in we had to wait about 30 min to check in because the person behind the desk had to leave (no explanation). We were standing there with 2 other people wanting to check in and luckily a person sitting at a table close to the desk told us she was gone and would he back.

This is a super cool retro hotel right of the square! You can't beat the ambience and having a great restaurant there and seeing live music! Everyone in Taos goes THERE for entertainment! The bar is severely understaffed and the bartender as a result gets snippy. Bartender Holly at restaurant is super cool but that doesn't open until 4pm. Try anyway. Tip her well- she deserves it. Friend deal is great. Get the king suite- worth the two baths and extra room. Ask for quiet building in courtyard!! Drinks are expensive so bring some booze too but their drinks are AMAZING and so is food!! Great parking in back. You can stay at a 4-5 star place but the ambience here makes this place a Taos experience! I travel everywhere and I know. So chill and be the best you here!

There was a problem with the original room they put me in. The front desk responded quickly and when the hotel rep determined they couldn’t fix it right away, they gave me another room that was a nice upgrade. I really appreciated their response.

The personnel was not very friendly at best. There were charges on my credit card which they didn't know how to explain, then waived. Asked for an invoice at check out and told it would have come to my email. emailed the Inn a few days back asking for the invoice and I got no answer. needless to say I never got the invoice by email. The plus of this place is the location, other than that just average.

While this historic old hotel is a fantastic location, the street construction in front of the hotel made it harder to enjoy the outdoor seating on the street side bar due to noise, traffic congestion, and dust at times. When street repair ends, this should improve somewhat.

This is a very comfortable place. Old enough to be interesting, but very well kept. It would have been nice to have had a coffee maker in the room because we're early risers, but there is coffee in the lobby starting at 6 am. Of particular note, Vincent went out of his way to help us when we first arrived, because the road work mentioned below complicated our arrival a bit. As referenced above, the temporary downside is that there is a major road resurfacing project underway on the street right in front of the hotel, and the traffic during the day is hideous. The good news is that the old town center is right across the street, with many, many shops and restaurants. The work was supposed to be done in June but here we are in October and I see no end in sight, so that should be kept in mind.

Such a beautiful place, and in the middle of everything Taos has to offer! Cafes, restaurants, and shopping are very walkable, and it's a short drive to Taos Pueblo.

Lovely historic property in ideal Taos location. We would definitely go back. Only two nitpicks: No breakfast offered on weekdays, so we had to go elsewhere to start our day. And room TV was ridiculously tiny!

Love staying here. The rooms are clean and quiet. The live music every night in the lounge is a great way to end the day. Happy hour and an appetizer are dinner. Chili Relleno was fantastic. Walkable to lots of galleries.

We had a great time. Loved the live music in the lobby in the evening. Having drinks and music before turning in was great. Loved the old charm of the hotel. Only had one meal in the restaurant. Staff were great but food was barely OK. Not to worry. Many other restaurants up and down the street. We would stay again.

Had a wonderful time at the Taos Inn. It's very convenient to walk to the Plaza. Our room was on the courtyard. We enjoyed sitting out in the fresh air. Their restaurant, Doc Martin's, was excellent. Recommend the salmon and the trout. The Prickly Pear Margarita was very tasty.

The water pressure in the shower was very weak and took way too long to get wet, and to rinse our hair of shampoo and conditioner. The food from the bar was slow and only luke warm. My wife's chile relleno was stuck to her plate like glue. After sending back my elk chile to be heated up, it came back only slightly warmer. Our margaritas had way too much ice and not enough tequila. Very disappointing.

Amazing hotel!!! Great rooms, very clean and very specious. Bed was very comfortable. The check in was very easy and very pleasant. The stuff is very nice through the hotel. The hotel provides coffee and some pastries in the morning, in the main room adjacent to the bar and restaurant which provides dinner and live music each evening. It was great after a long drive to stay have dinner and listen to some amazing music. Did I mention the food was great also. Definitely will stay at the Inn again when we visit Taos. The location is close to all of the sites within Taos
