I had stayed here last year. I was expecting the same kind of room. It was lacking a refrigerator, microwave, and hair dryer. I know that they were getting $300/room due to the solar eclipse, but maybe they could spread some of that around to the rooms?

We have stayed here before. The location was great for the wedding we were attending. Close to I-90. Access to I-90 from the hotel is a bit weird because of a concrete island at the end of the driveway. There is no breakfast but there is a Sheetz across the road that does made-to-order food.

Clean, no frills motel. Traveling with a small dog. The direct access to outside is a huge benefit. Grounds are very well kept including dog walk area. Recommend to others for a reasonably priced room and easy stop off 80.

The people that worked there were extremely kind. The rooms were clean, but very outdated. The air didn’t consistently work. It would shut off in the middle of the night for hours. The beds were actually decent and I slept good except for when the air shut off. We were gone most of the days so we weren’t in the room except to sleep. No fridges in the room. The only ice machine is near the lobby.

We stayed here last year for the wine festival and thought it was fine however this year our room was on the side near the highway, so much noisier. Also, upon moving covers on the bed a pair of underwear appeared that was not ours. It became evident that the room had not been properly cleaned.

The room was fine other than the overall cleanliness level. The rest room/bathroom was not well kept. The floor was dirty along with the toilet that wasn’t functioning properly. With a good cleaning everything would have been great.

A main complaint is that the floors in our room were extreme dirty. It was clear by the bottom of my feet that they had not been mopped in some time. I appreciate laminate floors over carpet in these types of hotel rooms because they are easier to keep clean — if only they were cleaned. I was with my toddler who had been stuck in a car all day and now wanted to run around the room and it made me cringe because I could tell how dirty the floor was. We also had neighboring guests who were loud at all hours of the night and waking my child up more than once. Just not an ideal experience.overall.

The smell was putrid. 100% cigarette smell even tho it’s no smoking. The toilet was definitely not cleaned. Paid for 2 days unfortunately can’t get a refund and we didn’t even stay 1 night. Learned our lesson

Pretty average property in need of some TLC but served the purpose of a room to sleep in. The bed mattress felt like it was about twenty years old. The room was on the dark side even with the lights on. The tub/shower combination was in need of renovation. Funny smell when entering the room but not overpowering. Next door neighbor’s door was really squeaky especially when they were leaving early in the morning and going into and out of their room. Upside was it was very inexpensive and close to the places we wanted to go. We felt pretty safe there especially with other guests in the area. Checking in was really quick and easy.

It's beaten down worn-out. The vanity light above the sink doesn't work, the mattress is completely worn-out and lumpy with springs coming through, there isn't any chairs to sit on other than a uncomfortable computer chair. The A/C barely works. I would have left after the 1st night but I already prepaid for 4 nights through "Expedia" and didn't want to fight to get my money refunded to me. Never again will I spend money or nights at "Red Roof Inns". Motel 6 is 3 steps ahead of this place.

We had trouble when we arrived because the staff member couldn't find the reservation we made through Expedia. She was not very helpful and basically just told my husband "well, it's not here" leaving him to figure it out. Another more helpful staff member finally found the reservation. We reserved one room for two nights and a second room for one night only when the rest of our party arrived. The first room was not great, but it was OK according to those who stayed there. The second room was unpleasant. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the floor seemed unclean. I wouldn't walk barefoot on it because I didn't want to walk on that floor and then put dirty feet in the bed. The tub faucet was rusted and in need of replacement. The bathroom door had a dent in it as if someone had punched it or banged their head on it while sitting on the toilet. The room smelled like wet dog, but it seemed to improve overnight so the smell was mostly limited to the bathroom area. The smoke alarm went off several times in the early morning. When my husband mentioned it to the staff they said they usually just tell people to take the smoke detector off the wall when that happens. That seems like a pretty unsafe and unhelpful response. It was only one night in that room, and we survived. If I had no other option, I could stay there again. However, I would definitely look elsewhere first. It was the closest hotel to our destination, but I would drive farther to stay somewhere nicer.

We rolled in late Sunday night and we were so grateful to find this place last minute. It is very clean and located in a lovely property surrounded by lush green trees. The staff was friendly and helpful. The manager Ken was so nice and made us feel welcome. We will definitely recommend this place.

Im from Canada, visiting relatives in willoughby. I left my phone charger in the room. I called back the next day, it was turned in. Great! I drove back to the hotel to retrieve it. Put it in my back, continued on to Cleveland. Went to charge my phone in Cleveland, noticed my charging cord had been switched out out! My cord was 8' long & fabric. This was 2' long & rubber/plastic. Called hotel again, said i would have to call back the next day & speak to "Ken". The onous was assumed to me for phone calls & driving all over the city/state. No offer to look after it for me. Will also be filing complaint with Red Roof head office

We check in and are given our room keys, then 4 hours later another customer attempts to open our room as they were also given keys to our room. Then at 11pm at night the manager is banging on our door threatening us to answer the door or he'll call the police. We were fully paid and trying to sleep. If they were competent they would have known who was in what room and not scared my son who was afraid the banging on the door was a ploy to harm us late at night. Horrible horrible experience. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS!!

We had such a great time at the Red Roof Inn! The staff was so friendly. The rooms were so clean and updated very nicely. Katie at the front desk made us feel welcome and she helped us with everything we needed. We would highly recommend.

Outside of property not well lit. Checked in late a night and she put me in a room very far from lobby. So close to highway that noise was so bad all night. Doors so thin, it was so loud outside my door. Not a good experience. Didn’t feel safe

There was a person who slept on property in his jeep during our stay. He was parked there when we arrived in the evening and when we departed in the morning. He watched us park and enter the room and watched us leave the room. Didn't feel comfortable or safe.

Mentor is a bigger city just 10 minutes away. Great options for restaurants and grocery stores. Too bad they didn't have a mini-fridge in the room. It would make our life easier, as we had medication that was temperature controlled. We were there for two nights visiting Kirtland's Historic Sites. It was boiling hot outside (July/2025), but the AC worked really well. Ice machine was helpful, but a mini-fridge in the room would make a huge difference. Thanks.

Our room was pretty quiet (surprising given that it was on the side facing I-90), clean and comfortable, if quite a bit worn around the edges. The hotel is minutes from downtown Willoughby and Mentor and close to restaurants and malls. Our stay was very comfortable. We had to pay extra for a room with a coffee maker, and then the hotel ran out of coffee…but only briefly…and that is our only real complaint.

Overall, a very nice stay! I miss not having a microwave & fridge/freezer in the room, but there is a Sheetz convenience store across the road that has good food. I'll definitely stay here again if I'm in this area!

This is a no frills motel. It was clean, very safe, friendly. The room was a tiny bit small but very clean, comfortable, well lit. Convenient to highway. No restaurants in walking distance but Sheetz just across the street, and lots of restaurants in 2 kilometres
