Courtyard by Marriott Cleveland Willoughby

When I reserved the room, the description included "bar". When we arrived, there was no bar. The room was ok, the room lock needs work. After the amount I paid, I was expecting better.

Room was clean and staff was professional. The pool needs some TLC and very disappointed that hot tub was not open and functional.

The room itself was nice. Beds were very comfortable. However, we were traveling with teenagers. The hot tub was not operating and the pool was not heated. It was absolutely too cold to swim in. There is no free breakfast which we were aware of. The breakfast they offered was EXPENSIVE! $12 for a warmed up frozen croissant sandwich! Thank goodness there was a Cracker Barrel, Bob Evan’s and Sheetz near by. The elevator smelled terrible and it was slow. It made a lot of clicking and grinding noise as well.

We chose this location specifically for the Ammenties. My adult son and I were disappointed the hot tub was not in service. It was clearly stated on the website and with pictures that there was one. When we booked, no one advised us that it was not open. Yes, the pool was open but it was cloudy and not very warm. There were no towels. The floor was very wet and slippery. There were things floating in the water that appeared to look like pieces of toilet paper or napkins. Another family had their two young children with them. One was wearing a regular diaper and not a swimmer. It was very water logged while she was being held in the water. Then, the father removed the wet diaper and allowed her to "swim" naked. I can only assume that she urinated in the water since she was a baby; under 2 for sure. I then wondered if the floating things we saw were parts of her diaper that was possibly falling apart from being so water logged. Anyway, it was kind of gross and would have been nice if someone would have monitored the pool area since it is located right in the front of the lobby area. I am sure everyone could clearly see the naked child and what the family was doing. It just kind of took away from our pool experience, which again, was why we booked in the first place, along with the hot tub. On a good note, the room was clean, as well as the bathroom. The temperature was able to be self-controlled. There was free wifi and plenty of towels in the room for showering.

They had several large wedding parties and were fully booked that evening still had room to park close to hotel and it was quiet in the hallways and inside the room. Bed was comfy

Advertised hot tub but apparently not available because no permits..don't advertise what don't have. Make this trip monthly at least not sure if will trust this as my go to hotel, that I'm working to replace the hotel been using past 2 yrs.

I couldn’t sleep because of temperature fluctuations due to HVAC issues. The third floor hallway was 83 Fahrenheit and the AC unit in the room would not cool unless on the maximum setting, then it was too cold. So I had to constantly adjust it throughout the night. The pool was filthy, very cloudy water, hair and band aids everywhere and it smelled bad. No chlorine odor at all. Hot tub was decommissioned. There was black mold growing on the tiles in one corner of the room, peeling paint, rust and deteriorating ceiling all around the pool area, it was very sketchy. Most importantly a drain cover in the pool was missing which presents an injury or drowning risk. Staff was sympathetic but could not refund any money because I booked through Expedia. The quality of my experience was not up to the Marriott standard and I felt like I was ripped off. Whoever owns this building is clearly not paying to maintain it. Never again.

The hotel was great the only problem is my bed had odd spots all over it like it hadn't been cleaned

The room was not that clean. Hair in the sink, hair in the shower, and dirt marks on the floor. I’ve stayed in much cleaner Marriott properties, so I was slightly disappointed. I think this whole hotel suffers from a case of lacking maintenance. We had problems with the door lock to our room as well.

We had ants around the phone and the bathroom floor was gritty.

The first room we checked in looked like it wasn’t cleaned very well. The tile floors were very dirty and there was what looked like food on the curtains. We asked for a new room and the second room wasn’t much better. Same scenario as far as floors looked like they needed mopped and it looked like it had been awhile since the floor around the toilet had been cleaned.

When I checked in my room was not clean. Prior guests personal hygiene - gross - left visible in trash and shower. When I called the front desk to please service my room, I was told that if I didn't like it to change hotels! Every hotel in the city was booked, so I had no choice but to stay.

Seems like place is up for sale. Furniture slightly worked, investment in all but lobby ? Have you ever had ants in your room crawling over the counters?

We booked for a 2 night stay. Our room was not serviced. Since we had an accessible room, meaning bathroom floor got wet, towels need to be put down to soak up the water on the floor. Upon returning to the room at night, wet towels on the bathroom floor, no new towels, bed unmade… this is not why I paid top dollar for. When we checked in wasn’t told about the wi-Fi, called from desk… no response. Had to walk down to the front desk to find the clerk sitting in the lounge. We have mobility issues, hence not the service I paid for.

The hotel and rooms are beautiful. The tv also had Netflix which was very convenient. It’s a very upscale hotel.

We had an amazing stay over the weekend. My fiance and I do a "sweetheart getaway' every weekend. We choose a different local hotel and enjoy a weekend staycation that includes food, fun, and a comfortable room. This property by far has been the best hotel that we've stayed at. Front desk staff were courteous, efficient and knowledgeable of the area for dining and entertainment. The room was gorgeous with an incredibly cozy bed and a nice room set up. We didn't swim but the pool and gym were clean and had modern equipment. They have a 24/7 bistro set up in the lobby which was all stocked. Complimentary hot chocolate upon arrival was just what we needed after coming in from a snow storm. This is definitely at the top of our list to add to our frequently visited spots às I'm 100% certain that we'll be coming back. The price was outstanding for the amenities. I fell in love with the balcolny and our sophisticated sofa bed. Well done!!!

They should address the Bathroom Door and it is overdue for a new mattress, springs are very uncomfortable.

Our mattress felt like it needed to be replaced. They need foam pillows. The feather pillows had your head sinking to bed level, no support at all. Our shower head needs to be scrubbed. The shower stall was narrow and the soap dispensers are too close to where you have to stand to use the water. Kept hitting my arm on them. It was a quiet room and the air conditioner worked.

This is our 3rd time visiting the property and always..... they show up and prove why they're the best. We visited the hotel bar this time and it was awesome. Sharon made us feel like we were home and we definitely visit her again on our next stay.

I needed to bring my dog in the hotel to check in and the front desk wouldn’t give me my key cards because of him. I didn’t even get a chance to tell him that my dog was going to stay with a friend. I already knew the hotel wasn’t pet friendly! He was very rude!

Staff was super nice, very accommodating. Breakfast was great!

Front desk staff was amazing, day shift and night. I apologize for forgetting the gentlemen's name that worked nights but he was very helpful in getting a small issue resolved and was super cool. Rich the manager, took care of the concern promptly and was very friendly and knowledgeable. Amber at the front desk was absolutely amazing. She answered all my questions and took care of a second reservation for me, super welcoming to have such a great front desk staff. Rooms were very clean and tv was awesome

We enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard in Willoughby. The staff was friendly helpful and courteous. The woman at checkin was delightful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely book here again when we need to travel this way again.

I had a VERY difficult time with your phone menu trying to get someone to answer the phone and to ask them for an earlier check-in than 3 p.m. I made try after try and when I finally did reach a human in the hotel, there was nothing they could do for me. When we arrived at 2:45 anxious to be there exactly at check-in, nothing was ready and we were delayed until about 3:15. I felt it was not a good response from the Courtyard. No extra effort whatsoever. You need to check your phone responses/menu and try to be more user-friendly.

We have stayed here many times over the years . Property is nice , rooms clean and staff very nice . Also less than 30 min drive to Cleveland Clinic main campus and it is more reasonably priced than hotels there

Easy to find, easy to park. Quiet. Very clean. Restaurants right near by as well as a gas station. Great for a quick stop during a road trip.

We felt safe and comfortable. The room was well maintained and spotless when we arrived. Although close to the freeway, we were not bothered by noise. There were several dining options nearby. The on-site restaurant needs work, as it was understaffed with a single worker manning the counter and (apparently) doing the cooking.

Overall the stay was good. Check-in staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The breakfast at the “bistro” was sub-par. For the prices, the food did not match up, the options were very limited. Asked for fruit on French toast, was told they were out of fruit. Asked for inlet, was told they only had eggs, nothing else to go with it. Coffee was like motor oil, then was told it would take a while to brew a new pot. Very disappointed, ended up driving down the road to McDonalds to get breakfast.

Everything was clean. We enjoyed the food and drink at the Bistro. It was nice not to have to go out in the cold weather for something to eat.

Everything was okay, but coffee bar had no half & half, milk, creamer during our stay. How do you run a Starbucks coffee bar without creamer?

Room and staff were very nice. Having to pay $5 for a coffee and $20 for a simple something to eat for breakfast was a real disappointment, especially at $140 per night. Will not stay there again.

Disappointed there wasn’t a free breakfast because I had booked only (I thought) hotels with indoor pools And free breakfast at all our stops. But I might have misread.

POSITIVE: room size, comfort, cleanliness, all top notch. NEGATIVE: the hotel description said restaurant. I was expecting a real restaurant, but instead found a one-person counter with quite expensive ala carte menu items. I think a decent breakfast for the two of us would have cost about $40. We went elsewhere to eat.

The staff was so friendly! Everything was clean! Breakfast was great!
