I think the best way to evaluate this motel is to do it via pros and cons. Pros: good location – right across the street from Walmart, a gas station, Burger King, Dollar General, and Dunkin’ Donuts. Within the same parking lot was a Mexican restaurant, liquor store, and smoke shop. This motel has a laundry room with vending and ice machines. The continental breakfast offered oatmeal, waffles, toast, pastries, coffee and juice. The room was clean, and the bed very comfortable. There was also a small microwave and a very large sized mini refrigerator. The cons: the motel only had two small bars of soap, and a little tube of shampoo, there were no other toiletries. Although there was a TV, you really couldn’t access anything unless you have apps which you can sign into. There was a night where we could hear people being loud outside our door which was disruptive of our sleep. The motel did not have an elevator so if you are in for a long stay, hope that you get a bottom floor so that you don’t have to climb the stairs. Our room was in the front which didn’t offer much of a view except the side of a restaurant while the back view at least had some greenery. The price of what we paid was much higher than what the motel is worth. However, we went during the time when the masters were playing in Augusta, which was only 30 minutes away. There was also no coffee maker and if you want to walk, forget about it because there are no sidewalks around.

Had to leave in the middle of the night because of bed bugs. Got bit up. Told the front desk, they told me that there was nothing that they could do and that I had to wait for management. Waited on management, emailed them pictures and videos of bites and live bugs. I asked numerous times to receive a formal, written incident report but have yet to receive one. Management keeps saying they’ll call back but I’m the one who has to keep calling them. I’ve alerted DHEC, BBB and code enforcement to try to help ensure nobody else goes through this. I’m allergic and will eventually have to go to a doctor for antibiotics/steroids but am waiting for the incident report. I expect full compensation for my room, my deposit and any further medical bills associated to this or I will be seeking legal action. Happy 18 year anniversary to me and my wife, very disappointed in Econolodge.
