The hotel exterior was well lit, front desk was friendly. The room at first glance is nice, but needs better maintenance. There are a significant amount of cobwebs above the window curtain. Cosmetics like patches of popcorn ceiling and no popcorn ceiling. Sharpe markings on the wall left to the bed as if it was a a spot that had work done. The wall next to the sink has an unpatched hole in the wall (best guess is a punch to the wall) followed by dry blook smeared on the door (small amount). Toilet flush chain is rusted and broken...had to fish for it. The shower head is rusty. Still not terrible for one night, the price and location.

THERE IS NOT A POOL! I had to stay here for budget reasons. In town for a wedding. PROS: The staff were friendly, easy to find, pillows and beds were comphy and seemed clean (I just wish they were queens), There has been attemps at upgrades in the room like paint, head boards, desks and vanity. Cons: These upgrades are like putting lipstick on a pig. They are painting walls with little prep, most walls wern't painted and it shows. The walls were dirty with lots of scuffs. The carpet is gross, the baseboards and corners are dirty, and in need of deep clean. Shower amenities are basic and they didn't even give us enough towels. Also most mettal isvrusted like clothing rack, shower rod and toilet paper holder. Online in several spaces it says there is a pool but it has been filled in with dirt and if there was a hot tub I didn't see one. The breakfast is super basic. Fruit, coffee, paasties, juice cups, and breakfast sandwiches you heat up. It was fine just known it's basic.

The pool was not open, it is in need of repair. That’s the reason I stayed there. This should have been noted. Also, the rooms are in slight need of repair. I have been in worse rooms, I expected a little better from HoJos. (I know this isn’t a real Howard Johnson but still). It is located in a great area, so much nearby.

The parking lot had a huge broken section and we had to drive over it to get to and from our room. No breakfast available as advertised. Past stay was great and that is why we chose the location besides being close to everyone we came to see. Would love to travel again and stay with Howard Johnson.

The room smelled like Granny had just smoked 3 packs of Marlboro reds. Room was dirty, actual visible crumbs on the floor. At least the roach on the floor was dead. here was flies on the ceiling. Boogers stuck to the wall in the bathroom. Looks like a 3rd grader did the caulk job around the faucet in the shower. I dont think the sheets were clean, there was eyeliner on the pillows. Balls of hair all over the floor and bathroom. It was late so we slept in our clothes on top the sheets. At least we didn't see any bed bugs!

There was toenail clipping on the floor in the room when we arrived. It was obvious the floors had not been vacuumed. When we checked the sheets, the mattress protector was disgusting and clean sheets were just put on top of it.

Upon checkin the front desk had no internet to check in, the staff on duty was amazing he was very kind and trying his best. Once we got in, we had room 304, it was in the way back, the bathroom had a roach dead in the tub, the walls had stuff on them, the sheets on the one bed were nasty. It smelled like stale alcohol in the room, beer bottle tops were on the ground. We did not sleep there.

Checking in was great, the female behind the counter was great. My friend and I were in town to go hunting the next morning very early. So we asked about breakfast sandwiches or coffee being made early so that we could get something. The female behind the counter answered everything and told use she would leave a note for the night guy. Well the night guy didn't make the coffee, or set out the sandwiches, or muffins. He stated he never got the message or note. It didn't start the day off on the right foot. Good thing the metro diner is right next to the motel, because we got breakfast sandwiches there, after eating dinner, to cover our butts. The room was a typical double bed room, it did it's job. Gave us a place to sleep until 3am.

Shady individuals staying there. Rooms are not being cleaned the best (stains on furniture and walls). The room’s structural conditions aren’t the best peeling and holes in the walls. And I was over charged. Received part of my refund but not all of it and now have to deal with that. The hotel claimed Expedia did not pay them and took the money back and that’s why I had to pay. They claimed I would receive my full refund of what I paid back in a couple of days but have received part of my refund.

Staff was friendly. I arrived very early in the morning (2am) that staff at the desk was still very pleasent and polite. During my stay my key to the room wouldnt work. The clerk was very helpful and quick with resolving the issue and made sure i made it in the room okay. The hotel was reasonably price for the stay i needed it for. I literally just needed a place to crash as night. The besd was comfortbalr enough and the shower worked well. The room has a good amount of space as well. There was also breakfast provided in the morning.

The price was what attracted us until we got there. Now we feel we over paid. Aiken is a nice town and if it had a ghetto this hotel is in it. People living there drinking and making noise with there doors open. When we got there the front door was locked and she wouldn't let us in for her safety she said. Every morning and evening we went to the office for a towel and they refused. Go anywhere but there. Pay the extra money somewhere else.

This hotel is convenient for me when u am visiting family. It is close to shopping & affordable for me. It is clean & comfortable, but not renovated, which keeps the cost down for me. Staff is great! Breakfast not good. I have stayed many times & will continue when in the area.

The breakfast was horrible. They had almost nothing no juice, no cereal, no fruit etc. They had no Kleenex in the room, no extra toilet paper. would not go back to this facility again.
