Great location, walkable to downtown which is why I stayed here because I did not rent a car for my trip. I ate the breakfast buffet one morning and it was just okay but not bad for $14. I took a Lyft from the airport to the hotel but was able to get an early morning shuttle to the airport for only $10. While I was not traveling with a group tour, I noticed this hotel was a meeting spot for many motor coach tours where guests were in the lobby every morning, waiting on the departure of the buses. I must say the bed was very comfortable for me because I like soft mattresses, and I think this is the only hotel I've ever stayed at that did not have down pillows which are not preferable for me anyway! I slept very well despite the noises that I heard from outside, including the nearby train and the lightest rainfall sounded like hail against the windows. The windows were not soundproof at all. The room was average/ fine, but the bathrooms could use an upgrade. There is vinyl tile on the walls in the shower and yellowed shower curtains, along with a finicky hot water temperature adjustment. Rooms do not include mini fridge so I couldn't take my leftover pizza from dinner. Overall, my stay was pleasant.

The carpet was stained, the bed springs were very noticeable, and the sliding bathroom door was extremely difficult to open and close. But much worse than those was the fact that the elevators didn't run. I was booked on the 5th floor and had spent the day hiking in the Black hills. Did not feel like walking up and down stairs. Apparently, one couple got stuck in the elevator and an employee told me that they had been in the fritz since March. To make things even less tolerable, loud drunks began filling the hallways at 1:00 a.m. and one of them pulled the fire alarm at 3:00 a.m. . Worst night of sleep I can remember. If a reasonable management was in charge, vouchers would have been offered to compensate for the terrible inconveniences. Instead, the staff didn't even offer an apology. When one other guest suggested a free night stay, the manager just laughed and walked away. Horrible customer relations.

Great hotel with an AMAZING location DT Rapid City! Very friendly and professional service and rooms are comfy and decorated with a beautiful and very cool Western style with modern art work. Walking to everything DT, and lots of parking. Great restaurant and bar on property! I would highly recommend this hotel!

Check in was fine, but lobby didn't smell good. Room door didn't fully shut, and left a crack. The area of hotel was SO loud until early hours of the morning. Dried toothpaste in bathroom sink. Mascara smeared on comforter in bed. Hotel room felt dirty... yuck. Will not stay again.

The floor was dirty - it didn't appear to have been vacuumed and there was a dirty q-tip on the floor. The bathroom sink drained very slowly because the stopper was damaged.

This hotel desperately needs updating and a thorough cleaning. There was dust over everything and the air con vent was caked in it. The sheets on both beds were stained. The furniture was all battered and frayed. The fridge in the room had stuff in it from previous occupants. Reception staff were polite but were not aware of VIP benefits I was supposed to receive so I didn’t receive them. They moved us to a new room that was just as bad as the first room. The room was so dark that even with all the lamps on I needed to use my phone torch. All this would not be ok for even a cheap hotel which this was NOT.

Bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned. Hair (not from someone’s head) was in the shower and drain along with heavy soap residue. Called front desk and they sent 2 people up to clean it. Still had to wipe away a hair from the shower wall. Made me not want to use the shower

Upon arriving we quickly noticed the room was not there cleanest. There was a very disgusting smear of something (looked like dried vomit) on the back of the bathroom door. The shower had hair in it and there was globs of shampoo on the walls. The bedspread also had stains on it. Then a staff member knocked on the door and before we could even answer the door they proceeded to let themselves in with a key card! They apologized and said they didn’t realize someone was in there. How did the hotel not know, if they had literally just checked us in less than an hour ago. Finally, after we arrived back from our late night event the room key did not work. So we had to go all the way back downstairs to have it reset. Overall it was just not a stellar stay at this hotel.

Clean room. Could hear everything outside even though we were on the 7th floor. Very hard, uncomfortable bed. Bring your own pillows, the ones in the room were awful. We were there at the tail end of an unusually hot week and although it ran nonstop, the AC was able to maintain a comfortable temperature.

This was a very convenient hotel for an overnight in Rapid City. It was clean and the employees at check in were friendly. The rooms appear to have had recent remodeling with maps and murals of local attractions on the walls which is fun. Our room apparently missed out on tub hardware upgrades. The temperature knob was nearly impossible to turn and the shower head was the worst I’ve seen in any hotel, much less one seemingly as well appointed as this one.

The Rushmore is a grand old hotel badly in need of an update. Pet friendly hotel with no pet area. In a great area in Rapid City. Hotel is on the main road to Mount Rushmore so it’s very convenient for that. Rooms are clean but shabby.

We recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience overall. However, I want to highlight a couple of points for future travelers. Booking through Expedia proved to be a bit challenging, as I initially couldn't get in touch with the hotel directly to confirm my reservation. After some internet searching, I finally found a phone number and spoke to Ashley, who was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Despite some issues with Expedia showing only one of my two booked rooms, Ashley went above and beyond to assist in resolving the matter. She was a lifesaver! Once the reservation was sorted and we arrived, everything went smoothly. The check-in process was seamless, and the staff at the front desk were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They truly made us feel welcome. Overall, our stay was enjoyable, and the excellent customer service from Ashley and the front desk team made up for the initial booking challenges. I highly recommend contacting the hotel directly if you encounter any issues with third-party booking platforms.

We have stayed here before. It is walking distance to many restaurant, bars and breweries. Not happy with house cleaning. The totally didn't clean the room one day, and we had to flag them down to get it cleaned the next day. We were there for a week and not once did the replace the hot cups, coffee pods, take dirty glasses and replace with clean glasses. And we left 5 dollars a day for cleaning staff. Front desk staff were friendly.

A wonderful hotel full of that provided all I needed and more. The little building details, (Tile, elevator, etc.) was a perfect addition. The staff were fantastic. Parking was easy, which is not always true about downtown Rapid City. I would stay again anytime I travel there.

It was not a good experience. First we found an eyelash in the bed and a stain on the blanket. We kindly asked for the bed to be cleaned or simply just change the blankets. The manager was very rude about it. She told us we could check out. Just because they didn't want to change a blanket. Finally, they sent someone to clean it. Later that day we came back to nothing being changed. We went down once again and she asked us if she wanted to check out. Again, only over a blanket not being cleaned properly. The manager had more attitude and we simply asked for it to be cleaned, give us a new blanket, or refund us our money. Later someone finally changed our blankets. I didn't have the energy to fight over a simple blanket. I would not suggest staying here whatsoever!!

I enjoyed the place the restaurants were both nice. It was in a good neighborhood with plenty to do nearby. My only complaint was when I got there they said the did not have a clean room and asked me to go sit to the side. After watch 3 other people check in I went up and they had forgot me but I did finally get a room after an hour wait !!!

Asked for a room change bc the first was so dusty, had food crumbs on the desk. Front desk was accommodating but the second room was not much better. If I could attached pix, I would. The charging ports were sticky and hairy! Please retrain HK to at least dust. I did appreciate the F&B voucher for a free cocktail. Upon check out, staff didn't even look up to acknowledge, ask how my stay was or thank. Disappointing experience.

The hotel was great. Plentiful amenities and in a great location. Would absolutely stay here again. But I really wanted to give a big shout out to the staff. During my stay, there was an incident with my car in their parking lot (the hotel overall felt very safe, I think it was just some drunk guy at the Sturgis rally who just decided a brick and my back windshield deserved to be together). And the staff did everything in their power to make it right. Everyone at the front desk was incredibly helpful but I especially want to point out the red headed woman who was working that Sunday afternoon (sorry I didn't catch her name!). She turned what should have been a nightmare into a minor inconvenience. And, to be honest, I didn't mind staying for another couple of days. Thank you all so much for your help and am looking forward to staying again next time I'm in town.

Be prepared for the train to wake you up at 2 AM and then again at 3 AM. Ask for a room away from the train tracks. Saw some homeless people hanging around nearby but they leave you alone if you keep walking. Room is dated and the air conditioning is a little loud. You are right downtown and it’s easy to walk to all the restaurants. Spent one night and felt it was worth it to be so close to the restaurants. You don’t have to pay to park downtown or fight for a parking spot. Parking at the hotel and walking everywhere makes up for the minor hotel issues.

old building could hear a lot of noise from the street, poor lighting in the room, could hear people walking down the hall. had to pay for breakfast and it was $14.00 and all it was pre cooked sausage they put in deep frier to heat up, biscuits were not fresh. the gravy was water gravy. cold fried potatoes and over cooked eggs. rooms were over priced.

American hotels really need to look to European Hotels to bettee their breakfast buffet offering. Breakfast buffet here was $14 pp if not included and it had tasteless scrambled egs, sausage, ham, biscuits potatoes and premade pancakes. Also offered gloppy oatmeal. Coffee was subpar at best and orange juice was watered down. Made to order breakfast was crazy expensive. First day cleaning person haphazardly made bed and didnt fluff pillows, just left them in a jumbled mess. At 200 per night, we expect more.
