Nice clean place to stay, but is a little dated. Two stores with no elevator. Make sure to ask for bottom floor if stairs are an issue. Has heated outdoor pool which is a nice feature. Breakfast is provided, but don’t expect much. Evening staff was great and personable, morning crew not so much.

We enjoyed the stay very much. It is close to the major highway and various restaurants. The room is clean and the staff are very nice and friendly. We also enjoyed the outdoor pool very much. It is very well maintained. Highly recommend!

The good: Great location close to stores and restaurants and right off the interstate. Nice pool. Good price for tourist area. Decent continental breakfast. Staff was friendly. Area and property felt safe. The negatives: Room carpet was dirty plus carpet in the bathroom is a big NO especially in a hotel. No blankets on the bed except the bedspread which doesn’t appear to be washed after each guest. Pillows were small and hard as rocks. We just needed it for one night traveling through the area, and prices of hotels on the weekend in this area were ridiculous. So the Foothills Inn was adequate for our needs.

The room didn’t seem to have been cleaned. There was tissue paper on the floor and there were hairs on the bathroom floor. The sheets had blood on them and the towels were visibly dirty. The carpets were stained and dirty. The room smelled like smoke and was just very unpleasant. The only thing this place had going for it was the fact that we didn’t have bed bug bites when waking up.

Generally pretty good stay. I noticed several pubic hairs in and around the bathtub and housekeeping missed some spots around the sink. There was also a dirty sheet in the dresser drawer.

On arrival, we noticed toenail clippings and other debris on the floor. Having worked I hospitality before, we just politely asked the front desk to have it vacuumed while we were out to dinner. When getting into the terribly uncomfortable bed, I noticed USED cotton balls (for removing nail polish) sitting in plain view on the nightstand. It gave the impression they really rushed through cleaning, and REALLY had me questioning the cleanliness of everything in that place. Bring an older hotel, you can hear everything from the other guests.

This was showing as a 8 out of 10. I would definitely rate this closer to a 3 maybe 4. It was very out date. The beds were extremely hard. The carpet was dirty and stained. We checked in and immediately checked back out. I have never noticed stayed some place. This was definitely miss leading on the previous reviews.

bathroom had hair all over. in the bathtub, pubes on the toilet, and hair in the sink. stains on the carpet. staff is completely rude. i didn’t get my deposit back, with no explanations. got hung up on multiple times and when i went in person to ask, i got threaten with the police. DONT RECOMMEND!

Overall not a bad stay. Been on the road for a month and this is not the worst we have stayed at. The condition of the carpet in room 131 does need some attention and to be cleaned. Carpets are old. There was an area on wall behind head board of bed that needs to be painted as something either broke or was removed and the wall never fixed after. All appliances did work. It’s just the appearance is of a well worn older hotel. Having to ask for the breakfast sandwich at the check in desk was odd, but then theft may be an issue. If you use a third party to book you are charged a 10$ processing fee upon check out.

Staff was pleasant, the lobby was very welcoming and homey, and the grounds were nice. The rooms however were dated, the mattresses not the most comfortable, and the carpet was a bit soiled in spots and stretched out. Breakfast was very basic. It's an affordable low-frills convenient hotel near some of the most gorgeous scenery in the Black Hills.

This place may not look that impressive from the outside, but my room was excellent! Bed was huge and cozy, it had a fridge, coffee pot & a microwave, and it was quiet at night. I felt like it was a great deal for such a cute room. Bathroom was dated, but it was clean, and that’s what really matters. Will stay there again! Only 4-5 minutes from good shopping and food.

It was overall good but when we checked out the front desk lady pam was rude to me and didnt so what she said she was. But it was solved by another employee. I was told I'd get my room refund pam said she would and didn't. Other front desk lady looked into it and got it fix. I was there for a funeral for a dear friend and my check out made my start to my friends burial stressful and I was late.

The front desk clerk was extremely rude and unresponsive. She asked for an ID and when I showed it she didn't speak but just pointed at a scrap of paper stuck to the counter that stated they wouldn't rent to anyone with a local address. I tried to explain that I had a different address but hadn't changed my driver's license but she just stood there pointing at the note

It's a clean place, air conditioners are set to 72, not good when it's 87 Outside. Hot in rooms! One room had good water pressure in shower, room they moved us to didn't have any. When I bring something up to manager, she gets real sarcastic, not just with me! Other customers. Room not cleaned every day. Never seen a staff so rude.

The rooms were fine, pretty standard for the price. The friendliness of the service left something to be desired. It felt like there was a morale issue at the hotel. May not have really felt it was that much of an issue, but our fridge was cleaned out of our food in the middle of the stay. $ wise it wasn't that much, but it was the principle. If you are value conscious and nothing else is available at the price point, probably going to be ok.

Very basic accommodations. Rooms were clean and property was an average condition. While we did not stay for breakfast, my observation was that it was very basic continental breakfast and very limited dining space. Very convenient to dining options and very convenient to the airport, which was why we booked this room.

Great location for visiting Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park and The Badlands. All within one hour from inn. Good diner for breakfast across the street - Millstone. Inn is old but clean, quiet and with comfortable beds.

The staff were not welcoming and the property is very dated. We were in a pet room, but it was very stained and run down. Booking the correct room with the property was challenging. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets very rough. Everything was marked as if you were going to steal it. Breakfast options were not bad and Walmart is close and convenient. The restaurant next door has closed. Parking was easy.

Wonderful check-in staff. Easy access to/from the interstate. Great parking. Brain-dead morning state who is completely in the wrong job. Tired property in need of basic maintenance an upgrades ... carpeting, towels, bedding, doors, tv, etc.

Beware of extra charges by the hotel. When checking in, I was told there is an additional fee per day when booking through a third party. This is not explained anywhere on Expedia’s site - it should be. The continental breakfast consists of prepackaged sausage sandwich or cereal. The hotel room and staff were good - no complaints, but I wouldn’t come back because of the lack of an elevator and the breakfast wasn’t what we expected.

Ok hotel. Clean, close to airport, felt safe and it was quiet. It did not have on site laundry as advertised on the website however and the continental breakfast was cold cereal, English muffin or bagel, or a microwaveable egg sandwich. Better than nothing I guess.

This place needs a refresh. The potential is there. Can’t say I loved my bed. It was clean but holes in the towels and fraying. We were downstairs two min before 6 and breakfast started at 6 but nothing was out. We had to leave so it didn’t look like it was worth the wait. I asked the guy at the desk if he was going to put anything else other than cereal and oatmeal out and he said I could make a peanut butter sandwich. Very disappointed because our last two stays the breakfasts were great!
