The property itself was great. Most of the staff were wonderful, except the gift shop employee that was rude and less than helpful. My only real complaint is that non of the amenities opened at the advertised times. Pool opened hours late, pool bar opend hours late, and the shop by the pool never opened.

My check in was smooth and the lady was very nice! The hotel was very nice as well with SEVERAL things to do without leaving the property! My 3 year old enjoyed it as well. There was a bounce house, giant chess/checkers, movie screen and other games out on the terrace for the children!

We went for my birthday to have pleasant time at Moody Garden Resort our stayed was on 06/06/25 weekend but ended up being terrible idea . Our biggest issue was that of elevators broke down over the weekend, 2 stop working only left 1 for everyone to use! This caused a big delays in getting people up to their rooms and down to lobby. It was nightmare; people were getting squeezed in to one elevator it was awful.. We were out in the pool where you’re not allowed to take food or drinks or ice chest, and their cash register went down, we couldn’t order anything or close out our tickets. Let just say!! I was very disappointed did not expect this in 5 stars resort. Won’t be staying here again.

Great for families with kids. Water park and pool was fun! Clean facilities, however, most elevators were broken at the time of our stay. Other than that, definitely recommend this hotel for your stay at Galveston!

The hotel was amazing. We had a great stay for the most part. I would def suggest not valet parking your vehicle as we waited over 30 mins at times dropping and picking it up. We ended up asking them to remove the valet and ended up parking our own car. It’s a short walk if you don’t mind self parking. Another issue we had was having to ask for fresh towels. We asked 3x before we finally received them the next day. Also, we did room service. I tipped the guy an extra $20 on an already $25 added gratuity to bring us up some extra ketchup. Gentleman said sure, kept the money and never brought us up the extra ketchup. Other then those few issues we had an amazing stay.

Our room did not have a mini fridge. The plastic shower curtain liner had mold/ mildew on it so I removed it and placed it on the bathroom floor. One of the big towels had a stain on it.

This hotel has seen better days. No trash bags in the cans, holes and what looked like mold on our sheets and stains on comforters. Beds are super uncomfortable and a phone that didn’t work but an alarm clock set for 4:39 that woke us all up. Will definitely seek other accommodation while visiting the island.

Woke up to use the restroom in the middle of the night to find a cockroach in the bathroom. Thought it was gross and weird because I was on the 8th floor…but then realized their steakhouse is on the 9th floor. So glad I didn’t eat on site. Left as soon as I could in the morning 😭

We stayed at this hotel two years ago and loved it. However, on our second stay this past weekend we didn’t love it so much. Our king size bed was comfortable, but the sofa bed our children slept in was not and it made a lot of noise every time they moved. They should also include a thick comforter for the sofa bed as those thin sheets are not enough for staying warm at night. Another thing we noticed is that the area of the pool closest to the bar is infested with cockroaches and we even saw one in the water. Gross. They really need to take care of that problem. Lastly, there were little children diving in the bar area splashing pee water into our drinks while their drunk parents did or said nothing. Not cool.

Pros: the staff, the location, the food in the restaurant, and the free parking. Cons: the phone in my room didn't work even to call the front desk or room service, the room smelled like strong chemicals and made me and my family members who visited gag (one was a child with asthma who had significant problems breathing), I ordered the same breakfast both days but the price and items received were different, there were no pens or paper in the room which is odd for a conference center where people are commonly working, water pressure in the shower was weak, attractions are not actually discounted as advertised unless you purchase a ticket for all at the same time (including the 2/4 that were closed), the gardens and grounds were run down, and the outdoor children amenities were broken (ping pong balls, Jenga) The worst thing was that a high school convention was occurring simultaneously, and I had to try to sleep while students were screaming in the hallways. Staff did come and warn the students to be quiet, but it was annoying and happened more than once.

There was a incredible outdoor pool and a heated indoor pool. There were pool towels available too and all you had to do was return them. The room was nice but it wasn't 4 star quality I don't think. Even decent hotels have microwaves available for families but there was not one so it was inconvenient. The front desk staff wasn't easy to communicate too. He just seemed like a robot set to say the same things over and over again instead of understanding what the customer is saying and assisting them properly. But it is a beautiful hotel, everything is awesome about it, the spa, the gym, the pool, theres a sauna too! The rooms just didn't live up to expectations, as so the bathrooms in the room.

The staff are very nice. The rooms need some updating. We stayed here about 10 years ago and everything is the exact same. The bottom of the bathtub was peeling, the carpet has stains, but the room was clean. Check your bill before you leave, they charged us for valet when we parked ourselves. The issue was quickly fixed.

Check in time took about ten minutes. The wait was long and only two people to check in a long line of people. They would not honor passes for Palm beach because we did not book directly with them. Refrigerator would not cool, not all the lights would come on, the adjoining room door made it where we could hear everything going on in the next room.

So we arrived and check in was fine. The room was nice and clean. The issue was with the food service and restaurant. They also had not one but 2 cheerleading camps going on at the same time. Staff was overwhelmed. Dinner one night was just a mess. They brought out some food while others were forgotten. We were there for 3 hours. We waited 30 minutes just to get the check. It would seem with approximately 500 12- to 16 year old at the hotel they would staff accordingly. Also at 10:30 pm we kept getting calls asking for room service. It was not pleasant at all, I never saw any kind of noticeable management. It looked like just employees trying to help. They have you check out at 11 am. With minimal staff and a very long and slow line. One person at the desk was not trained and the other person had to help with everything they did. I could not recommend this place at least during camps or a convention.

We spent a weekend there and valeted our car. Unfortunately, every time we tried to get our car to go out, no one was there to help us. We called for the car and they still had to locate someone to get the car. Frequently there were 2 or 3 families backed up to wait for cars. The front desk was never staffed appropriately, nor was the lobby bar. There were no bell hops to help with luggage, and no one was ever at the concierge's desk. Overall, service was terrible due to severe lack of appropriate staffing levels.

Went down for ice cream at the shop in the foyer , no spoons. Valet never around. All activities way over priced and the advertised beach is nothing but a small concrete pool Shuttle ‘s and golf carts never available to take small kids or sr’s to any activities. If all you want to do is stay in the room …it’s fine!

Upgraded to a balcony room for an extra $50. I was able to do this by phone in my room. The lady that answered my call brought my new room keys to me personally. Great service, I didn’t even have to go back to the front desk.

Moody Gardens Hotel is a great place to stay in Galeston- location is perfect . The hotel offers free bikes with the trolley stopping at the hotel. The restaurant- we went in off season- was very accommodating. The food was fresh and delicious. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Lots of things to do -the pyramids have an aquarium, a rainforest, and science museum. Also a large swimming pool and game areas. We had a great stay at Moody Gardens Hotel.

I love all the areas of the property. The rooms are good. Hotel is showing a little wear and probably needs updating. But overall, clean and staff are great. Good at the main restaurant is horrendous. After the first day, I drove to McDonald’s. Do not eat buffet option unless you are desperate.

Love this hotel. Rooms are large and comfortable. Beds are comfortable. Plenty of counterspace and under counter on the bathroom vanity. Parking garage very accessible.
