Clarion Inn & Suites DFW North

Booked this hotel because it advertised the airport shuttle. Upon check in we registered for the 4:55 AM shuttle to the airport. Me and 6 other guest were in the lobby and the van was parked in the front. Another guest ask the receptionist and she told him they didn’t have a driver. We each had to get our own transportation. I reached out to Expedia to ask for reimbursement for having to pay for transportation to the airport and someone from the hotel lied and said I wasn’t in the lobby. They also told Expedia that they didn’t have any other complaints about the situation and I said of course they haven’t because everyone else is still flying. All I want is to be reimbursed for the trip to the airport, do the right thing!

I was visited by a cockroach inside five minutes of arrival going after my leftovers from dinner. I signed up for a 0450 AM shuttle to the airport upon checkin. I was early. Ten patrons waited for a shuttle driver for a half hour before receptionist informed us they had no driver. Everyone has to Uber out.

Everything went fine. Loved the hot tub.

Horrible airport shuttle. Over an hour from time calling on the curb until arriving at hotel. Bed ok. Shower good. Fairly quiet.

Very clean great location for the airport. They provide free shuttle for the airport as well that is very easy to sign up for. There is virtually nothing around the hotel expect for the airport and nothing within walking distance. Property very clean . Pool and hot tub clean. The restaurant had good food but service was pretty slow and took a while to get our food. Great location and price for what we needed.

Clerk happily changed rooms for us since first smelled very musty. Second room was nice and clean, but bathroom had pocket door that wouldn't shut all the way and no air vent fan. Other than that, it was affordable and conveniently located close to music venue (Toyota Music Factory). The indoor pool and hot tub were nice.

Hotel supposedly had a shuttle from airport, but nobody answered the phone to schedule a pickup, so I took an Uber. Obviously, it was busy because tons of flights were cancelled at DFW, but that process could be easily automated.

I called on the morning of may 23rd and asked about shuttle service since our flight was scheduled for midnight. The woman who answered was polite and assured me shuttle service would be there. I called after we landed and was told the shuttle would be in route to pick us up. After a few minutes I received a call from the hotel informing me that he would NOT pick us up where he told us to go. Our car was there from the week before and we paid for to leave it at the hotel because we would be back. It was 1 in the morning and we’re not familiar with DFW. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. I want my account refunded. The way he talked to me was very concerning.

The staff was nice they did move us one time due to the refrigerator not working and it smelled so bad. Then the next room shower had sewer smell coming up through it - we had no hot water in the sink then the next morning we only had like warm water to shower with. I mentioned it to the staff when leaving and they noted it. Definitely a place unfortunately I would not recommend.

Room a bit smelly (damp) and old, found two cockroaches in the room. No cold water. Comfy beds though!

There were roaches in the room not one but many!! The room had a stench of mold and wetness. When they moved my room that room had similar peculiar smell of mold coming from AC machine. The tv also didn’t work

Room was modern and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I have stayed in many hotels and this was one of the most welcoming I have experienced.

Property staff was amazing. My room was dirty upon arrival and outlets barely worked.

I usually do not write bad reviews, but I do not want anyone to experience what I experienced. My flight got canceled due to a snowstorm and I had to stay in DFW for an extra night. This hotel wasn't cheap. It was the only available place I could find in the area and the photos were deceiving. As soon as I walked into the lobby, I could tell it wasn’t going to be a pleasant experience from the musty smell to the outdated look. Upon entering my room, I went to use the sink, and the handle of the faucet almost fell off. Further, the cleanliness of the room was questionable at best. I left to have dinner and when I came back, I found a roach on my pillow. The front desk person then gave me the option to move to another room although she had denied me this option upon checking in when at that time, I told her I preferred not to be on the first floor. The new room was even worse than the first. It smelled like someone had been smoking in it for days, the toilet looked as if it had not been cleaned, pillows were stained, and carpets were dirty. Every single piece of furniture was either dirty or antiquated. I was so tired, I just slept in my clothes and was hesitant to take a shower. I slept with my hoodie on and the smell of smoke on the sheets and pillows was so strong, I was bothered by it all night. I was too tired to ask for another room at this point but having this experience, I do not think other rooms would have been any better.

There was no hot water in the shower!

Room smelled like a moldy jock strap. Horrible a/c. Staff were helpful but hotel was full. 1 night was enough.

Room had a damp odor and the floor felt damp

There were live bugs in the first room we killed them but got a new room but the room smelled like mildew there was no breakfast not on the menu of the little restaurant either the bed was hard the pillows were small and lumpy the carpets were dirty there was no tub just a standing shower the furniture looked old and dated for the price I paid I expected better. It wasn’t the absolute worst but definitely not at the top of my list

I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent stay. Check-in was smooth and easy, and I appreciated having a first-floor room. However, there were a few issues I noticed that may be helpful for future guests: The room door was difficult to open because the carpet was too thick and didn’t fit well under the door. The shower appeared to be designed for accessibility needs, but it was complicated to use. The shower head would not stay secured on the pole and looked very outdated—almost from the 70s—and it nearly fell on my foot. Since the room faced the front parking lot, it was noisy late at night with people coming and going. Next time, I would choose a room toward the back or on a higher floor. The refrigerator made a loud buzzing sound throughout the night. Overall, the stay was okay, but these adjustments could make the experience more comfortable—especially for guests who are particular about their accommodations. Thank you for your time.

It was convenient to the airport. However, the shuttle took a long time- I could have gotten a taxi in arrived in 5-10 minutes instead of the shuttle taking 30-40 minutes to arrive at the airport. Air conditioner was very noisy.

This hotel was an okay stay for the price. Very affordable and a clean quiet place to sleep. A little outdated, but an okay stay if that doesn’t matter much to you

The beds were comfortable and the desk folks were nice. The pool and hot tub were both perfect temperatures. Problem was the a/c was extremely loud, and the shower door didn't shut well. But the front desk offered to move us; we just didn't want to.

AC was blowing hot air in the First room offered 114. 2nd room needs repair touch on the door. Not closing smoothly. Clean, basic fine for getting stuck at the airport. Shuttle service was great. Onsite basic resturant a plus. Just seems like an aged property. Wifi blocked YouTube.

While the property is in a great location, the hotel itself is not the greatest. We booked this for 8 days and regretted it the first night. The photos of the rims were definitely taken in the “nicer” rooms I presume are up on the 3rd and 4th floor that is only accessible by a different elevator than the main one. The room was outdated, the beds were hard as a rock (all of our backs are sore after our stay) and I think they found the worst / lumpiest pillows and threw them on the beds. The bathroom was extremely small with black mould in the drain of the shower. The door was a sliding door that didn’t lock in either room we had. The first three mornings we woke up to our toilet randomly was broken forcing us to have to go down to the bathrooms on the main floor lobby. We had to switch rooms and the beds / pillows didn’t get any better. Half of the outlets in either room didn’t work and we were finding random beatles almost every day in the room. While the staff were friendly and the location convenient I do not recommend staying here longer than a night. This is not a hotel for a long stay or vacation.

Our room was in the two hundred hall and the door opened to a closet that was partially blocking the entrance. We barely got our suitcase in. Very cramped room. Bathroom not tub and the shower toilet area looked painted this dark blue with old brown tile...shabby looking. We opened the curtains and our view was another building's windows that was about 20 feet away. So we were glad it was only for one night, as we stayed in a cramped room with the shades drawn.

The electrical outlets did not all work.

I recently stayed at the Clarion Hotel in Irving, TX, and was extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism and customer service from the front desk staff, particularly “Anu.” From the moment I called about the shuttle service, I was met with frustration and unhelpfulness. Despite providing the necessary details (Terminal D), she insisted I find out what gate my flight landed at—even though this information was irrelevant to directing me to the shuttle station. After struggling to locate this detail, all she offered was vague directions, making the process more stressful than necessary. Upon arriving at the hotel, I was frustrated to see a TV screen in the lobby displaying the exact flight and gate information I had been asked to find myself. This demonstrates a clear lack of effort to assist guests. Check-in was equally disappointing. Anu barely acknowledged us, asked for an ID and credit card, and handed over the room keys with no additional information. I later overheard her coworker providing another guest with crucial details, including the morning shuttle service—information we would have missed if we hadn’t happened to hear it. When we asked for directions to our room, she also failed to provide clear instructions, forcing us to seek help from another staff member. I addressed my concerns with the manager, who simply explained that they were “very busy.” While I understand high-volume periods, that is never an excuse for dismissive and unprofessional service

Staff didn’t want to provide transport, kept hanging up overall horrible service and room

The evening reception staff were friendly, cordial and exceptionally helpful. One in particular went beyond what she was expected to do, to make my stay memorable. I wish I could stop there because I wanted to have rated my stay and service as excellent. However, unfortunately, that is not the case. The night receptionist appeared in bad mood, and the look I received when asking a question made me feel that I was being a bother, suffice it yo say I avoided going to the front desk for the rest of my stay there. Notwithstanding this encounter, I would still recomnend the Clarion Inn & Suites, Dallas- DFW.

Everyone was super friendly and nice.

The front desk receptionist was probably the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life. I was stranded in Dallas from a cancelled flight at midnight. I booked a room, needed a shuttle service and was left for 90 minutes at the airport, and she proceeded to argue with me about directions she gave me on where pick up was. Worst customer service I’ve ever encountered in my life.

My favorite thing was the staff at Clarion. Absolutely excellent.

Terrible check out. The property charged the stay directly to my card (as requested in the booking), but the receptionist refused flatly to print/provide an invoice for the charge. His excuse was that "this should be provided by Expedia, not by us", and left me without receipt of the charges, nor providing any other solution. The worst check out I have had in 25 years

Great place to stay if you need to be close to DFW airport.

It was a nice place close to some nice restaurants and shopping!

The location is ideal for the area north of DFW airport. Access to 114 / 121 is quick.

The area, although very close to the airport lacks most traveler conveniences for those without a car. There is an on site bar/restaurant which we did visit. Food choices were somewhat limited, but the staff was very friendly. If all you need is a place to sleep for the night it is a pretty decent choice...

It's a good hotel, and pretty well maintained. It is close to the DFW and it's location makes it easy to access northeast of the airport, like the Dallas area. The one downside is it's proximity to air traffic might make it a little loud sometimes for some guests.

A breakfast would’ve been great all they had was Cheerios unlike the advertisement.

Fine for a place to sleep before an early flight, but no breakfast offered and far from any real dinner choices. The on-site dinner options were fine but limited.

They had a wonderful restaurant that served breakfast and dinner at a respectable price.

I really liked the pool and spa, but the cafe was awful. They actually ran out of eggs and so I had no breakfast. They should have a free breakfast anyway

We didn’t plan on staying in Dallas, but flight delays left me scrambling. Cost and shuttle service were a priority for me. The beds were comfortable and the indoor pool were a plus. Nothing within walking distance to eat. Overall, I was pleased with our stay and would stay again. No continental breakfast.

Overall good quality for the price. A bit disappointing that breakfast that is usually included in the price at other hotels was only available for sale at this location. For example, cereal and milk was $5.

Check in was excellent. Room was pretty good. The bistro food was mediocre, it was freezing in there and the atmosphere was like a school cafeteria. Decorating one wall does not create a welcoming environment.

Worked perfect for a night we had a layover since our flight was canceled. Shuttle service was another plus. Did not have to worry about getting an Uber for 10 people. The restaurant at the hotel was the wonderful. They even stayed open a little longer so we could eat after a long frustrating day.

I had a nice stay for a night. I didn't really care for the bathroom though. The bistro's food was good and the bartender was very friendly.

The hotel staff were amazing! Had a cancelled flight and didn’t eat for two days because of the stress. I found this place and boy am I glad I did! This place has a cute little hole in the wall restaurant bar. Let me tell you the food is killer and all homemade that burger healed something in me along with the fries and nacho cheese. Least to say, my stay was excellent.
