La Quinta by Wyndham New Braunfels

I will start with positives. The room was pretty clean, the area around the tub seemed to have an appearance of water damage behind the tile but it didnt affect the shower. The air was cold, breakfast-fair.Negatives- Area is right next to a very run down crack looking motel which was my view out the only window. Hot Tub Broken, Gym out of order, Musty smell in hallway- old carpet. Pool is very small.

Stayed one night in town for a wedding so it served its purpose. Hot tub wasnt hot. Lots of food nearby which was convenient

Stayed in room 332. Ac unit was coming off the wall and there was normal wear and tear throughout the room. Mold in corners and chipped paint and furniture - nothing terriblly crazy but the hot tub was broken (no signage) and our shower didn't have hot water. Also, there was a long hair in the shower. Oh and a couple channels on the TV didn't have sound (others did) and some were only in Spanish despite clearly being English shows. We stayed at the Courtyard a few months back just down the road and it was much better and that is where we will stay next time we are in New Braunfels.

Clean, staff friendly, … the pool has a weird place for the lock on the gate- it’s so high up, I almost had to get another guest to help me reach it. The pool area has a couple handicap accessible devices which seems nice, but DOESNT have a handrail leading into the pool. I thought that was strange. The first step is pretty deep and I have bad knees so that wasn’t pleasant. Anyway, that was my only issue with our stay! Everything else was great.

Property is under construction, bit it wasn't noted on their listing. Also, the elevator was out of order. But the staff is great.

Pool and hot tub very dirty hot tub isn’t even usable

The pool was closed, coffee was clear, bug bites on my legs , elevator was malfunctioning

The one thing I was disappointed about was the swimming pool. It was yellow and dirty. It was not clear and clean.

Exterior door, east side, is broken. Otherwise a nice hotel.

Hotel was not as Good as the one 30 miles up the road. Pool and hot tub were not in very good water quality. Green slim around skimmers, skipped using pool.

Really dirty and stinks ! Elevator squeaks alot sounds and feels like it’s gonna break down . Our room was right next to the elevate all night we could hear the squeaky of the elevator . Our view from our room was horrible and sketchy could see the hotel next to us and looks like people live there and really dirty . . Our room stunk and really dirty looks like they didn’t even clean it especially the restroom . Really dirty and loud

The bathroom tub wa dirty with a layer coming off the tub floor. The shower curtain was stained and smelled bad. The bed sheets also smelled bad. So glad it was just a quick stay.

The hotel was overall clean and the check-in process was quick and easy. The staff was responsive and quickly brought fresh towels when needed. The only issue was that the bedroom had a persistent moldy smell during the entire stay. Otherwise, everything else was fine.

Dated property. Room is ok, carpet is dirty. Bathroom smell mold.

There was a stack of wet towels in the windows seal in room 208. There were also roaches on the floor and walls when we woke up and the drain was so full of hair in the bath tub that the water barely drained. Stains on the wall by the bed and the ac only blows on fan

The dirtiest, most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. Even the elevator was dirty. And because the elevator was so slow, we had plenty of time to observe. We were also awakened at 7:30 in morning to the sound of drills and hammers. Yes, the room was cheap but I guess you get what you pay for. AVOID THIS HOTEL!

The property was infested with crickets. They were all over the floors (and in the sink of the main floor bathroom). Some were alive and others dead. I guess they may have sprayed for them, but in our 3 day stay I never saw anyone who worked there try and clean them up. I don’t know where they came from but my husband killed 39 of them just in our room. Their chirping could be heard all night from crickets under the bed or in the AC unit. We asked to switch to an upstairs room thinking maybe it was a main floor problem, but there were crickets on the 2nd floor too. La Quinta has lost my business from this point on.

Overall the hotel is older and needs a deep clean and remodel.

I stay here often. They are not doing anything to update this property that is in SERIOUS need of it. I had roaches in my shower, the wall paper is peeling back, no water pressure, there is mold in the caulk and grout. They always, and I mean always give me a room I did not ask for.

The curtain in my room was see through. There was nothing to cover it up with. Looked for heavier curtains. Nothing. 😟

The service was great. The room was very clean. Unfortunately, the air was not working-I set the thermostat for as low as it would go(60) and after running all night the temperature was 80. It was too late in the evening to do anything about it and I kept hoping it would get better. It didn’t. I did tell the young man at the desk when I left that they needed to check it out so I hope they will correct this.

Despite a bit of traffic noise at night due to the proximity to the highway, it was not a problem for us. Everything else made up for that minor detail. Staff was very attentive to keeping breakfast items stocked and everything was clean. The beds were comfy and housekeeping did great. We stayed 2 extra nights as it's a fun town and the hotel is close to everything.

Room was freshly redone however, there was no curtains to block out the two lights from across the alley from shining right in my window all night long

Room was clean and employees were courteous and professional. Bed was decent. Down side is all the street noise filters in through the window. I checked to be sure they were shut tight because of how loud it was. And they were. Wasn't there except to sleep but it was annoying.

Looks to have been recently renovated. Bed was comfortable pillows were not. AC was not connected to the thermostat on the wall. A lot of road noise from the highway

The room comfortably accommodated our family, close to lots of shopping and restaurants. A quick ride to Texas State.

Our room was a king suite>Comfort was ok. Extremely loud with passerby vehicles.

Not very well insulated. Could hear the elevator squeak and all noises. Bed too hard.

No curtains on windows. Building exterior lightening came right through the opaque window shade at night.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with a recent booking I made through your platform. The experience was beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. I booked a room while attending my daughter's ring ceremony at her college. Due to unforeseen delays, I was unable to check in on the first night. While I understood this meant I would lose that night's stay, I fully expected the room I paid for to still be available for the second night. However, upon attempting to check in the next day, I was informed by the front desk that my room had been rented out and the hotel was fully booked. Despite explaining the situation, the only response I received was, “That’s how it works in the hotel business.” The staff repeatedly walked away from me mid-conversation, refused to provide any solutions, and offered no clarity about whether I would receive a refund. This level of customer service is appalling. I was not rude, loud, or disrespectful, yet I was treated with complete disregard. Ultimately, I was forced to sleep on my daughter's couch due to the hotel's inability to honor the booking I paid for in advance. I kindly request a full refund for this stay and urge you to investigate the conduct of the staff at this hotel. I have been a loyal user of Hotels.com and have never encountered such a disheartening experience. I trust you will take this matter seriously and ensure that no other customers face similar treatment.

Was not aware the hotel was under construction (renovations). No mention of that on hotels.com. Very noisy, dirty. Construction workers yelling in the hallways and slamming doors. They started working at about 6:30am. Our first room did not lock so they moved us to another room. That was more inconvenience than anything else as we were in a hurry because our grandson had just been born and that's why we were in town. We have stayed at La Quintas in the past and they are usually fine. I will say the staff was very nice.

We were given the wrong room so someone tried to open our door at 10pm after we had just flown in from New York. No discount, no offer of anything. Happened twice - will never stay at a La Quinta again

A front desk worker named Carmen, went above and beyond to help us. She is EXCELLENT. Our car broke down and had to be towed away to another city and we had to get a rental car. She really helped us.

The hotel is located right off IH 35 which is conveniently located and 10 minutes from downtown. It's modern and very well-maintained with a pool, gym, washer/dryer access and a meeting room. The rooms were spacious and clean. The front desk staff, were accommodating, hospitable, and very friendly. I'd stay there again and highly recommend.

Front desk did not know the room assigned to me was ALREADY occupied. Key was given to me then when I got to room OPEN the door realized there was a suitcase shoes and carrying bag in restroom. THANK goodness now one was IN THE ROOM at the time. I left went to front desk where the individual was NOT aware room was occupied already!!! NO Explanation how this dangerous and serious mistake could have happen!! Will not stay at this hotel every again.

Property was great only thing was refrigerator wasn’t cooling correctly and we reserved for 5 people and only had 4 set of towels in the room. Internet was not good.

We had a great stay here. The staff was wonderful, kind and helpful. Our room was clean and we had good space for 5 of us. The AC broke they fixed it right away. The breakfast and coffee was great. We will definitely stay again. Overall great experience here.

Very clean room and comfortable beds. Noise level from the busy highway was a little annoying though.

It's close to everything, only a few miles from Schlitterbahn.

Clean room, friendly staff. Overall pleasant experience. Facility street Entrance/Exit far from ideal. miss the turn and its a huge pain to get back to one of two street entrances was the only big negative for me.

poor location on entering property / bad traffic

The location is terrible, getting in and out of the property is a chore! we will not stay here again. Our room didn’t have towels, they immediately corrected. But the smell of cleaner was so overwhelming in the hallways and foyer. Not to mention we saw the front desk employee “mopping” the floor with her feet and a towel. And another time, several of the workers lounging in the foyer. We found it highly unprofessional.

Close to restaurants! Short drive to Schlitterbahn!

Not easy to get to

This was probably the WORST placement of hotel as it’s RIGHT at an intersection and the traffic backs up for at LEAST half a mile back.

This property is conveniently located to a lot of restaurants and shopping. It is a short drive to downtown New Braunfels and Schlitterbahn.

Very clean and great breakfast! The gentleman working at the front desk was very helpful and sweet! The elevator worked very slow but other than that over all great place to stay close to the river and surrounded by great places to eat.

Clean, friendly and close to attractions. We stayed here before heading to Schlitterbahn. I think the thing we enjoyed the most was a nice breakfast. It has been awhile since we stayed at a hotel with a good breakfast. So way to go on the breakfast.

Breakfast had no yogurt, butter for waffles, said they were waiting for shipment? Prepaid reservation and front desk had to be informed 3 times before they found it! Telephone had red light flashing in room - front desk did not know how to stop it ......very disappointed stay ...........still seeing flashing red light Have a photo of poorly made telephone access to wall but enough is enough ...............

The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast had a good selection of items. We would definitely stay here again.

The staff was very friendly. One tidbit of info is most of the water faucets are backwards hot is cold and vice versa. Thought the shower was terrible until we realized the situation. Also experienced an egg shortage so three days of the week stay we didn’t have eggs. Other than that, it was a decent stay for the price .
