Disappointed that there was only 1 elevator working causing long wait times and full to capacity elevator rides. For the price i feel like the property should have been cleaner. We found a plastic knife on the floor by the AC unit and dark marks on the white duvet.

Overall the hotel, frontdesk and the room is nice except the tub draining slow in our bathroom. The breakfast area is in the resturant with bar, the setting very nice, you can see the falling leaves from the resturant in Autumn. The gym and indoor pool spectacular designed when you walk into the hotel. Enjoyed the staying in Double Tree very much so..

I have stayed at this hotel Many times. It is very nice. Every time I am there they have the same problem-- the elevators don't work! This is a real issue and needs to be addressed. They also need a significantly better work out facility. The one they have is totally inadequate. What I like are the people. Always nice, always friendly. The front desk is great, especially Alicia, who is amazingly friendly.

Very nice hotel, apparently was recently renovated. The only but i have is the pool, which is beautiful but for an inside pool, because obviously there is a/c, the water is freezing, so the pool should have warmer temperature. We were there during very hot days and not even then was warm. So yeah, warm that water people.

Beautiful and super reasonably priced! We brought our dog and had plenty of outdoor spaces for him to explore including a huge "backyard" behind the hotel where we could throw his frisbee. The restaurant was very good, and the pool and gym were lovely.

They really need to get their housekeeping drpartment in order. Our shhets had nloodcstainsbon them and so, instead of changing ourvroom, someone brought up new shhets for us to remake our bed . UNACCEPTABLE. There was a gum wrapper on the rug, dust on the lamps and no soap tray in the bathroom. Thevremotecwas filthy. I intend to inform their corporate office .

My husband and I stayed at the double tree due to needing to be close to UVA hospital. When traveling, we always stay at a Mariott. This trip we booked the Hilton. We booked two nights -- the second night, I had to use the pull out sofa--to my disgust, there was a dirty fitted sheet on the mattress with bed bugs crawling on it--I immediately contacted the front desk and spoke with a manager TJ. I was told that since I booked through a 3rd party it wasn't much he could do and the hotel was sold out. We travel alot and have NEVER experienced anything like this at all. I would have never booked at the HIlton, knowing I would have encountered bugs. The king size bed was clear of bugs but I never expected to share the bed with 2 other people.

One of the dirtiest hotels we have ever stayed in. Mold growing in the shower and the room smelled like dirty laundry. Very disappointed and the front desk only said, ‘we will clean it’. Disappointing Double Tree, very disappointing.

Shower knob was broken so it took us about 20 minutes to get hot water to work. The bathroom light cover was broken and clearly should be replaced. The sink had a loose handle so water dripped all night long which was disturbing. The room itself was very humid so the carpet and bedding felt damp and smelled. There were TONS of spider webs by the hvac unit which showed no cleaning is ever done around it. Housekeeping also never came by the room. For $20 a person I expected a better breakfast option than what we had. Overall experience was subpar.

Bathrooms are nasty, tile needs to be clean there is a lot of mold or bacteria. staff can\'t answer simple questions. Like Do you have discounts for companies that have more than 3 employees staying at the hotel. " YOU HAVE TO CALL SO AND SO. They should be able to answer this question.

Decent hotel located next to Sam’s Club. The property was updated recently and has a couple other updates coming soon. Beds were comfy but bathrooms were a little dated. Hot water was an issue and took a while to warm up in the shower, a couple minutes.

I stayed here as an independent traveler and unfortunately didn’t feel as safe as I would have liked. My room’s deadbolt didn’t work, which was unsettling, especially when traveling alone. While the exterior of the hotel is charming and picturesque, the room itself was disappointing. It clearly needed updating—there was peeling paint, an outdated popcorn ceiling, and a general sense of wear that didn’t match the rest of the property. The hotel was nice, quiet, safe. However, the A/C unit was louder than anything I have ever experienced. It sounded like a jet plane that also had a loose engine rattling around. The decibel level was 63. Even with earplugs in, I could still hear it. It was too muggy to sleep without it on and too loud to sleep with it on. It may have only been my room, but be forewarned.

The front desk personnel was awesome. No complaints. The bar food AND service was just ridiculous. When there was 5 people or 15, extremely slow service and the food was just horrible. I've eaten better at a nursing home. Wait staff unenthused, I felt and others I observed were ignored for long periods of time. Several people left the bar because no one was really serving them. It was a shame. Hire more, competent people in that area and improve the quality of food served.

I love the upgrades. I was here a few years ago and it wasnt like this. Beautiful facility. The receptionist was able to provide me with a king bed. When I booked, therewere no kings available, so it was nice that I was able to get on upon arrival. The staff was very accomdating.

Staff was friendly and the lobby was clean. The breakfast was actually great. The rooms unfortunately did not match the rest of the experience. Bedding was clean and very comfortable. Older carpet, popcorn ceiling, small dated bathroom with very dated plumbing fixtures/finishes. Shower in particular was something that you don't feel comfortable touching. Curtain rod was partially broken from the wall which caused it to remain open 8-10 inches on both ends. It let the cool air in and the scalding hot water out onto the floor. The state park I was camping at actually had a comparable bathroom if not better. I would likely opt for a different hotel if I was in the area even though the rate was solid for a late night booking.
