Staff is very courteous and helpful. Clean rooms and nice sheets. Stayed for several nights. Only one criticism, I stayed on the first floor, people smoke right outside the doors on the benches and when the door is opened during and after their smoking, the smoke gets sucked into the hotel and smells the hallways up with toxic smoke fumes instead of healthy nice smelling air. It’s a beautiful property with wooded trails in the back. Pet-friendly! Front-desk staff, manager, and valet staff are all polite and respectful and genuinely friendly. I recommend this hotel and I stay only at Kimptons whenever I travel.

Very nice hotel! I was surprised that it’s actually as nice as the pictures depict! Great wine/beer/snack reception in the lobby each evening and really great coffee bar in the mornings with adorable hot chocolate for the kiddos. I can’t wait to come back!

If I could live here I would! Skcokingly huge and beuifutful on the campus of UV! We had to add a stay toniur day to to a storm and the front desk handled it perfectly! Keeping our original rate and insuring we were safe! The gym is amazing the grounds are stunning and the area around is historic! So happy we verred off our beaten path and found this incredible dog friendly elegant home away from home

It is a new and beautiful hotel with great architectural design and terraced landscaping. I think other than UVA, this hotel is the best thing in Charlottesville. We also enjoyed the 5 pm wine and social in the lobby.

The hotel is really nice, my main concern is they spray a scent in the hotel and in the rooms that is so overpowering you can taste it. Also, the mandatory valet is also a bit much and it takes a long time to get your vehicle.

Wonderful property. The front desk is very nice. The hotel is pricey as it is and then you add $30 valet plus tip. The whole property is very classy, and generally clean. Its the rooms that need attention. I walked into a room with bulbs not working, there was an old soap on the soap holder, the body wash was on top of the toilet bowl. Just little things but not so little if you think why was there an old bar soap?

Room in poor condition. Sliding bathroom door fell off the track so occupant couldn't get out of the bathroom. Custodian fixed it, and it immediately fell out of track again and door remained broken for our entire 2 day visit. Main light in the room also broken and never fixed. Breakfast in the room overcharged by $20. No concierge or help available to get oriented. Very very disappointed in the hotel

Shower was dirty but got nicely cleaned when I complained and we also asked for our sheets to be changed and were not changed. We complained and they said it would be done that afternoon and that never happened.

This hotel is beautiful, clean, modern and so comfortable. The beds and bedding are plush and the rooms are immaculately maintained and cleaned. Everything from the front desk staff (shoutout to the awesome woman who is there at 12am!) to the amenities was top notch. We left a disgusting hotel in Staunton in the middle of the night to come back to this place after staying here a couple nights beforehand on our way to TN and man, taking a hot shower after that horrible experience and crawling into a clean warm bed was amazing. The staff even gave us a very late check out since we got there at midnight, which we appreciated immensely! There is a fee for valet parking, but it’s convenient and the parking staff are wonderful to chat with. Plus on this app you pay $1 for breakfast per person, and it’s not buffet, it’s a restaurant! If you are a picky traveler when it comes to hotel stays, have higher expectations for your accommodations or are a germaphobe this place is for you!

I bumped my rating up from one to two stars because most of the staff was helpful. The reason I’m not gushing is that all I wanted for my $225 was a bed and a cup of coffee upon awakening, but no one in the process of checking me in told mentioned that I would have to ask for an espresso machine to be brought up to my room. So after searching for a coffee machine for five minutes after dragging myself out of bed, I had to shower, dress and go downstairs to get my cuppa Joe. Also, the hotel tries so hard to be so modern and cool that some of the lighting fixtures were impossible to turn on, like over the table in the corner. I just gave up after a while. Also, like most American hotels, the pillows were too fluffy for me, so I didn’t sleep well. And finally, I was disappointed in the restaurant offering so little in the way of vegetarian choices and the manager who was more than a bit snarky about it.

We were supposed to have 2 queens and walked into the room and had one king bed. We called and they said they couldn’t give us the queens but could bring a rollaway. We went back in the room an hour later and no rollaway. We went to the front desk and asked again. They finally brought it up and we went out for our function returning late. My daughter was about to get into her uncomfortable rollaway, and there was no blankets or sheets. Just one sheet at the bottom of the bed. Very poor customer service for a nice hotel!

We arrived to the Kimpton/Charlottesville after a long, 8 hour grueling drive from hurricane Helene stricken Asheville. We had slept in our car, were evacuated from our hotel in Asheville, and lived through a harrowing experience there. The woman at the front desk could not have been more unfriendly, inhospitable. She was only concerned that we had mistakenly made our reservation for Monday, instead of Sunday (we didn't have WIFI, power, water for 3 days). She let us know how lucky we were that they had a room available. The hotel was seemingly EMPTY, only saw a few people at the bar, and restaurant in the morning. The woman who served our breakfast was also extremely unfriendly, almost rude when I asked if I could get fruit with my oatmeal. I would never stay in this hotel ever again. I almost asked the woman at the front desk why would she ever consider a job in the hospitality business.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! We were welcomed in by Brittney who immediately gave us a wonderful seasonal cocktail while she explained all the amenities. Then when we came down and asked for dessert recommendations she asked if we had any food allergies then sent us back to our room. Ten minutes later she arrived with a apple and ice cream dessert and a bottle of wine to boot! It was all absolutely delicious. This was supposed to be a quick over night stop for mt wife and I and the team at the hotel turned it into a truely special night. We cant wait to go back!

Great physical property but very mixed service. Room not made up until 5 pm after two requests. Trash left on the hallway overnight. They don’t answer the phone until you have hung up and called back numerous times. Unhappy with the concierge service. Friday evening the Lobby bar overwhelmed by a party of about 40 people ( in the lobby bar at 6 pm?), served by two bartenders being run off their feet! The hotel could be so much better!

You cancelled our reservation at check in time. I booked 2 months in advance. It was my wife’s retirement celebration and we were going to the Chris Stapleton concert. I booked it because of the quality of the hotel and we could walk to the concert. Totally ruined that.

We had an awesome stay here! The location was perfect and it was a super easy to walk to the stadium. The rooms were super clean, and the hotel had everything we needed. The sports bar downstairs was such a nice bonus and had great food. The Hatch Smash burger was so good! Definitely recommend staying here if you’re in town.

This is a lovely place to stay in Charlottesville. The rooms and lobby are fantastic. We enjoyed the arboretum behind the hotel. The staff is helpful and I love the ability to text requests. The food was a bit disappointing this time compared to previous stays. Nobody staffing the espresso machine and no other options close by. Breakfast was pricey and mediocre.

We had an awesome stay here! The location was perfect and it was a super easy to walk to the stadium. The rooms were super clean, and the hotel had everything we needed.
