Hotel Sorrento

The place is nice and cozy but the room that we stayed in, it only has the portable aircon. I mean, its cold and serving its purpose but kinda weird. LoL. Hotel is okay, everything is just close by. You have to pay $65 for valet parking per day. Kinda exprensive. No breakfast as well. Just fyi for people like me traveling in budget. 🙂

Friendly staff and comfortable accommodations but the facilities could be better maintained. The hotel’s only elevator was out of commission for almost an entire day and the cleanliness of the business center left something to be desired.

The only issue here was that the only elevator was out of commission. We were given a room on the 5th floor, although the bellhop carried our suitcase, it was still a trek to get up there. Otherwise, the property was good. But then, I really like historic hotels. It's 115 years old.

Nice older hotel which is quaint but not modern. Tiny refrigerator, no microwave, no usb charger ports at bedside night stands but overall is was clean and nice. Gym was actually exceptional with some nautilus machines which is rare in small hotels.

Rate for my room was really good, but $65/day valet parking fee is a bit insane.. esp since valet service isn’t truly 24 hours a day. When I needed my car late at night the poor front desk girl (only one working) had to go get it. And I was feeling bad making her go do it… for $65 a day I shouldn’t have to feel bad about needing my car whenever I want. There should be a dedicated valet available. Otherwise everything was great. Room was nice enough and very spacious. Not noisy at all, very sound proof. Awesome that you allow pets. Food from Stella was yummy. I would stay here again for sure , but next time I might park in a lot nearby or just do street parking.

Good experience. Classy hotel with old-world charm. Breakfast was especially good. We also tried the bar and food was really good there, too.

Everything about our stay was great. The food and cocktails were amazing. The only issue with our stay was the elevator broke on our last 2 days.

Hotel Sorrento was elegant and we loved its history! Our room was spacious and comfortable, the outdoor patio dining excellent! Great staff!

We were pleasantly surprised when we pulled up to this classic hotel amidst the urban landscape of Seattle! Loved the old hotel charm - and Stella’s restaurant and bar offered great end to our day. The focaccia bread was yes! Enjoyed several appetizers including tasty (but small) crab cakes and oysters. Our room and bed was comfy cozy.

The room was lovely with great historical flair, but was a bit unclean down to certain details (corners of carpet, inside drawers, etc). Bed was extremely comfortable! The pictures over the bed were deeply disturbing, and bolted to the wall… we did not like those at all. One issue we had with our three-night stay is that housekeeping came after night one, but not after night two. So we had to call to ask for new towels since they were not replaced like they had been the day before. Couldn’t find any information on why housekeeping came one day but not the other, was strange and a little inconvenient. Bar was okay, not the best options but the fireside room is a cool atmosphere.

The hotel definitely has that.. like you’re traveling back in time feel. But it needs updating. No AC but a portable AC in the room. Bathrooms need to clean better especially the bathtub. There was soap scum in ours but didn’t noticed until drained.. that was our experience. Couple next door also complained they had no AC so they were moved to a different location. I give it a poor rating only due to the managers reaction after I mentioned I believed I had contracted conjunctivitis from the bathtub.. the hotel was the only place I was washing my face. Using towels and lines. The staff that originally mentioned to did seem concerned and said she would issue me a credit. I also mentioned to please sanitize the area because it is contagious. The manager was very unhelpful and condescending. We didn’t feel like we were treated well at all. This was my husband and mine’s experience. Very unfortunate because the building is unique and the other staff were nice.

Clean beautiful historic hotel. Enjoyed the restaurant, service and food!

This is an older hotel and still in pretty good condition, however, there are a few quirks. The shower in our room got very hot if someone flushed the toilet. There was quite a bit of dust on the nightstand next to the bed, as if it hadn't been dusted in quite a while. The caulking around the bathtub/shower was showing some mold growing in it.

This property is super old. The hotel shower was tiny, the toilet barely slushed and there was not fridge in the room. We could hear every car that drove by and there are a lot of cars, birds, planes, etc. best thing was the bed- it was super comfortable. There were also a lot of dining options on the property.

Upgrade to a suite was very nice and unexpected - Bedding was extremely comfortable

Friendly staff, walkable, spacious rooms. Unfortunately I stayed in a room where road noise was loud throughout the night. Good bar/restaurant.

Great location. Classy old hotel. Huge room

Good: Comfy beds, very clean, charming atmosphere, friendly staff. Bad: There’s a portable air conditioning unit in the bedroom. Had to sleep with noise cancelling ear buds which also helped cancel out with the siren noises since the hotel is right down the street from a hospital. Overall: Would stay here again as long as I have my noise canceling earbuds.

Room is super clean and its super comfy beds and pillow

I was upgraded to a huge room but it was very odd. It felt more like a meeting room. The bed was a murphy bed and the room just felt very outdated. The traffic was loud. The air conditioning kept turning off in the middle of the night. The staff was very nice.

smashing suite - spacious and quiet room

The only thing that kept this stay from being 5 stars was that the room we were given had several broken window latches that kept the windows from staying fully closed. This let in noise from the street and cold air. This is an older building and we did let the front desk know so hopefully they are now repaired.

My stay at the Hotel Sorrento was so wonderful. I had surgery the next day and let the Hotel know that I needed a quiet room so I could get a good nights sleep before my ODark Hundred check in time. The Hotel Team went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. They upgraded me to a Suite on a high floor and with no street noise. Thank You Miles. And Joshua was so kind and attentive at the lovely Stella Restaurant. A great menu selection. Chloe helped me get a taxi to the Hospital the next morning. Such a Comfort. Thank You.

Our room was great, beds super comfy, even the pull out sofa bed. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and very helpful and welcoming. Always checking to see if we needed anything.Gave us directions when needed and met every need for our stay. Will stay there again!

The Hotel Sorrento has a lot of potential. The localtion is cool, in that you can easily (for the most part) walk to Capitol Hill or Downtown. I walked to the Mariners game from the hotel and it was a breeze. Unfortuantely, during my stay the elevator was broken and I was on the 6th floor. The communication from the staff regarding this was limited at best. So after long days of walking around Seattle, gettig to the hotel to walk up 6 flights of stairs was a bit of a drag. There are no robes or much else in terms of little soft touches. What the hotel is in desperate need of is some staff training and some sort of managerial oversight to address issues as they come up. There is a restuarant attached to the hotel, but in-room dining didn't seem realistic, and the hours especially on the weekend did not fit my schedule, but that being said, there are plenty of places in Seattle for all meals of the day, so I didn't sweat it. It did have the feeling that I was simply renting a bed for a couple of days. I received an earful from one of the bartenders at Stella, for reasons I can't fully explain, but involved another guest, for which she took it out on me in front of other guests, after I had just walked in to order a beer to take back to the lounge as no one working seemed interested in waiting on the table. I didn't make a big deal about any of the problems, as the elevator was a freak thing. But the staff could all use additional training and a new bartender.

Property was wonderful. Restaurant was fabulous. Miles helped get us checked in to our room as soon as one was available. We will be back!

Outstanding performance of staff

Whoever was working the front desk Saturday April 12th around 6pm was wonderful, lovely and kind! They made check in so smooth and easy which I needed after a long flight and train ride over. Thank you!

A highly recommend Hotel Sorrento! From check in to meals to bed comfort and check out this hotel is such a gem. The outdoor dining feels like a little oasis with great food and friendly service. The staff, across the board went above and beyond and the beds are beyond comfortable.

Great historic place to stay. Panoramic views in corner suite Chloe at the front desk was incredible, we had a small hiccup and it was handled with such grace. I'd come back again not because of the room but because of the hospitality from Chloe!

While the hotel is old and charming, the power in our room went out several times. This was likely due to the AC being broken and a swamp cooler used as a replacement - and too much power for such an old building. The food was great, but the restaurant was severally understaffed in the AM for breakfast. The front desk was understaffed as well. The staff who were there were extremely nice and helpful with our issues. Would not stay here again

Charming boutique hotel. Easy access to Interstate 5 for day trips and to/from airport. Also easy walking distance to downtown and area shopping and dining. Hotel has good restaurant and cozy sitting area and bar with fireplace for relaxing. Our suite was comfortable with nice linens and delicious Nespreso coffee! Staff has done a great job maintaining the beautiful wood and decor. Outdoor noise is noticeable but white noise app really helped.

One block from Virginia Mason (best) downtown hospital, three blocks from Swedish hospital, incredibly friendly staff. Recently remodeled bathrooms and very comfortable beds. Our new go-to when going in to Seattle.

This hotel is beautiful inside and out. The staff was super accommodating, fun and kind. Our room was very pretty, and the beds super comfy. I will I would have had the opportunity to eat at the Italian restaurant because the menu looked amazing and it was very popular! Conveniently located to bus stop which will take you right downtown. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area, if that's what you are looking for this is it! bit of a trek if you are looking for walking distance to lumen field but totally doable. Would stay again!

Bit of a walk to anything interesting and the top of one of Seattle’s famous hills. But classic well preserved hotel with excellent friendly staff.

Next to hospital complex so be prepared of noisy from ambulance all night long. NOT good sound insulation for windows.

Wonderful experience. My husband had surgery at Virginia Mason Hospital which is one block away from the Sorrento. The staff was super, restaurant a delight and the valet parking made life easy. Highly recommend the hotel if you’re looking to minimize stress for medical visits. Also just a wonderful hotel for any occasion.

Fantastic stay, delightful staff, and an excellent place to enjoy. I adored this hotel and can't wait to stay again. Stella crafts a fabulous breakfast as well!

A very nice room with a lot character. The Stella restaurant was delicious. The location is perfect to explore the city.

We loved this hotel! It felt very classic, like we were transported into another time. The staff were all very friendly, our room was quite large, the restaurant was wonderful (best bacon ever)! Valet parking was a little pricey but as to be expected for Seattle and the valet team were great! For our short one night stay, this hotel was perfect. We will be back!

The sink was clogged and wouldn’t drain and conversely the tub wouldn’t stay plugged!! Go figure. The staff was lack luster. Hotel was low capacity, and even so they didn’t offer an upgrade to be kind. Food was bad. Used to stay here when they cared. Was a fixture in Seattle. Sad now.

A very charming hotel with a fantastic lounge! There was no regular option for breakfast at any of the outlets, only a $55 pre-set Easter morning menu so that was a bit disappointing as I had to go elsewhere to get a coffee and a little snack. Other than that everything was great, I would come back there again.
