We stayed for two nights on the 8th floor. At the elevators it smelled like human vomit. The smell eventually made its way into our room. We put a towel down at the door to keep the smell out but it seemed to somehow be in the bathroom. My guess is through an air vent. All the front staff said was sorry. We will not stay there again.

The parking at the front of the hotel is minimal. If you go out at all you have to drive around one way streets to try and find a spot.

We stayed here for the fireworks competition at the Museum of Civilization. We were easily able to walk across the road to the park and watch from theee. Parking is HORRIBLE. Use the parking entrances at the front only, if turning in from the side street you will bottom out and scrape the underside of your car, even saw a truck have a hard time with it. Limited parking in front and tiny parking on side street, I'd suggest just paying for parking at the NCC lot across the road. Would not say it's wheelchair, walker, stroller or wagon friendly. Elevators are tiny and slllllowwww. Pool directions are so roundabout as well. You get off on pool floor, go up stairs, down an unfinished hallway, down stairs, and finally arrive when you can just go to the lobby and walk in the side door. Pool was warm and room was 28 degrees, area to change and shower was clean but VERY limited towels. Room was clean and madeup no complaints and beds were comfy. Large bathrooms and entire hotel smelled clean. Would stay again but park else where and rearrange how we traveled with wagon n stroller.

Nous avons réserver un hôtel avec piscine. Nous avons réalisé plus tard que leur piscine étais briser. FAUSSE PUBLICITÉS sur les sites de réservation qui indiquent que l'hôtel possèdent une piscine. Nous nous sommes fait lancer la balle par expedia et le best wester pendant plus de 14h nous disant que la chambre serais cancellé et qu'ils attendait simplement un couriel ou appele de expedia!! Expedia nous confirme que l'hôtel refuse de rembourser et l'hôtel nous disant l'inverse. Au final nous ne sommes toujours pas remboursé et nous n'avons jamais été à l'hôtel. LE GERANT 0 professionnel nous mentionne qu'il n'a pas besoin de nous dans son hôtel etc. Ils sont bon pour louer une chambre et récolter $$$, mais ne respectent pas leurs offres (piscine) et complique la vie lorsqu'il est temps de rembourser la chambre .

No pool. Closed for scheduled maintenance. Not advised prior to booking. I complained and Expedia tried to get partial refund for me as I could have picked a cheaper place but I wanted the pool. Hotel refused. I'm extremely disappointed at their greed. Two stars bc the ladies at the counter were lovely and lent me their own charger for the night. That was going above and beyond. Too bad they work for such a miserly company

Le personnel était très courtois, mais malheureusement, lorsque je suis arrivée (à 21h30), la chambre qu'on m'a donné n'avait pas été faite. Un des lits était défait, les oreillers sur l'autre lit. J'ai redemandé une nouvelle chambre (très gentil le commis au comptoir, mais il y avait plusieurs personnes et j'ai dû attendre) que j'ai pu avoir avec courtoisie. Il faisait froid dans la chambre et je n'ai pas trouvé une autre couverture mais trop fatiguée pour retourner au desk. Le matin, très surprise de voir qu'il n'y avait pas de cafetière dans la chambre. :-(

We found a bug in the bed, not sure if it’s was a bed bug. It was very hard to get a parking spot, so once we had one we felt we could not use our vehicle for fear of not having a parking spot when we returned. The floor of the swimming pool is extremely slippery, I fell and hurt my ankle.

Well, there was the dirt like spider net in the bedroom’s ceiling right above the heater. The bedroom was not properly and professionally decorated. Pillow’s covers were not properly and smoothly placed and arranged. The Blankets were very thin, felt cold at night even with the heat on. The floor carpet in the bedroom looked very dirty. The both bedroom and bathroom were not fresh at all. There was no any bottles of water to drink. We saw couple water glasses were kept in the bathroom’s sink that was very gross. Who use those water glasses in the bathroom ? There was not the bathroom slipper.

Over priced small rooms, No take away for the breakfast to take up to your room. Choppy wifi, limited to none channel’s on TV. Pool was the only upside but every safety rail was wobbly. This property is right across the river from the Parliament building in Ottawa. It's extremely easy and convenient to walk across the bridge right into an area that has so many things to do and see. We had a.river view and a balcony which was great. Our room was clean except for a missed used towel from the previous guests. The bathroom area is small but functionable. There was a slight issue checking in; the front desk employee was friendly enough but when an issue with the third-party booking site not releasing my credit card payment to the hotel (which is what the employee stated) happened, I found the employee to be slightly condescending and loud. It left me frustrated and a smidge embarrassed (there were others in line behind me) until my husband came in and took over. Parking is very limited onsite but we lucked out. I would stay there again because my room was pretty much clean and the close proximity to Ottawa.

What a find! One walkable mile to City Center (over bridge). Great view of the city. Most importantly, location and value were exceptional. Saved $200-$250 by staying here. It was clean and the staff were very welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

The poor parking caused us issues at night trying to find somewhere to park. We ended up being told to park as close to the building as we could. We had to be swapped to another room due to poor air conditioning. The second room had similar issues. Could not get the temperature to drop lower then 20.5. Definitely an issue for us.

The service is catastrophic. The check-in wasn't available at 4pm but only 2 hours later.... The Manager was supposed to call me back the day after... 8 days later, i'm still waiting for his call. T booked 2 rooms and they charged me 2 deposit... 8 days later, i'm still waiting for the reimbursement of the deposit.

The person at the desk was Aaron. He was very helpful and ask any time he saw us how was our stay going. He was making sure our stay was going well. Aaron was also able to answer questions about the area. We enjoyed our stay and will return next time we go back. Thank You.

My check in experience was terrible. I arrived at 230, was told my room was not ready and would be closer to 4. I came back at 345, room still wasn’t ready. Went back at 4, told it still wasn’t ready, that the room wasn’t inspected yet. Told it would be 10 minutes - the young man at reception asked if that was okay, I said no. He rolled his eyes and walked away. He was so incredibly rude - Only at 420 was the room ready. And within that 2 hours, many people came to check in and got their rooms right away. It’s completely unacceptable to wait 2 hours for a room.

Terrible experience. Hotel is short staffed and unable to provide bare minimum service on basic requests for bedding to put on pull away bed. Music in the front lobby upon arrival was loud, vulgar and explicit. During the night, beginning at 1230 am, the room beneath us began an extremely loud party with clearly a large number of people. Music blaring. Screaming. Carried on through the ENTIRE night until 630 am. I made multiple calls to the front desk. 5 in total. Each time was told it would be addressed and clearly wasn’t. On the last call, I asked that police be called. This was at 4:45 am. Staff said they would. I’m certain it never happened. The response to dealing with this situation was unacceptable. I was travelling with my two children. Felt unsafe and unsupported. Their response in the morning was that they couldn’t do anything because I had booked through Expedia. Absolutely nothing to help or support the situation. Expedia customer service has been exceptional. I will never stay at a Best Western again based on this situation. They can and should be doing better. Expecting better from their staff, and having clear guidelines for how to deal with these types of situations where one room is dictating the stay of so many paying patrons.

Hello, our stay was awful. I've never had such a terrible experience. The group of teenagers were running around all over the hotel till 11:40pm. We called to reception and asked to stop this mess as we couldn't sleep. The reception person didn't help. They even didn't come to our floor. Next time we went downstairs to complain to reception in person. But again they didn't help us, nobody came to our floor or to our room to solve this situation. Finally, we contacted the group guardian of these kids with a warning to call the police.

This property is right across the river from the Parliament building in Ottawa. It's extremely easy and convenient to walk across the bridge right into an area that has so many things to do and see. We had a.river view and a balcony which was great. Our room was clean except for a missed used towel from the previous guests. The bathroom area is small but functionable. There was a slight issue checking in; the front desk employee was friendly enough but when an issue with the third-party booking site not releasing my credit card payment to the hotel (which is what the employee stated) happened, I found the employee to be slightly condescending and loud. It left me frustrated and a smidge embarrassed (there were others in line behind me) until my husband came in and took over. Parking is very limited onsite but we lucked out. I would stay there again because my room was pretty much clean and the close proximity to Ottawa.

What a find! One walkable mile to City Center (over bridge). Great view of the city. Most importantly, location and value were exceptional. Saved $200-$250 by staying here. It was clean and the staff were very welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

Great hotel to see all the beauty of Ottawa. It is located on the opposite side of the river in Gatineau. But from the balcony you can see a gorgeous view of Ottawa, the parliament building and other famous places. We arrived even before check-in time and the room was already ready. It was a decent hotel. Everyone was friendly. There is NO continental breakfast anymore despite what is listed when you book, so be prepared to eat at the bistro in the lobby or go out for food.

I did not like the fact that they charge you for parking.But there's no security for the alternate parking lots that are in the back of the hotel. I also thought the cost for breakfast was a little high. Especially since there are limited fruit or healthier options in that cost. A few bananas would have been an easy fix.

We stayed in room with balcony the view was amazing over the river. Aaron at the front desk was very helpful friendly and even came to get me when the room was ready. Thank you so much Aaron The breakfast not included was very good value and good choices. Pool area was clean and temp warm. Absolutely no complaints and it was super busy for them .

We had a fantastic stay. We took advantage of the discount program the hotel offered with the Mont Cascade water park. We ate breakfast at the restaurant-buffet in the hotel. Our kids loved the pool and we enjoyed being so close to the river. Overall we had a great stay!

The bathroom was covered in cobwebs. Despite the "Do Not Disturb" sign, the housekeeping staff knocked on the door three times to try to clean it. I spoke to the front desk about checking out later, but they told me they would, despite this, call me twice to see why I was still in the room. We stayed for 4 nights at the Best Western Plus Gatineau. The room itself was ok. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Clean, lovely view. However, the amenities were less than satisfactory. Coffee is a must for us in the mornings, and I'm not sure I overlooked it, but there wasn't a coffee maker in the room? I just assumed, incorrectly, all hotel rooms have coffee makers nowadays? There was a coffee station in the lobby, however, the coffee was not very good...watery, very small cup size, no cream only powdered Coffeemate. Every morning I had to ask for either cups or lids, something was always not stocked. Day One, the breakfast was ok, nothing noteworthy.....cold eggs and empty warming trays, and a very cranky hostess. We had a bagel and a yogurt and paid $14 each. After that we went elsewhere for better breakfasts. What really bothered us was the massive lack of parking available. The lot only had maybe 15 spots and 2 Accessible spots. All guest cars were given yellow cards to place on the dash but we noticed over half of the cars in the lot didn't have yellow guest cards?? Were they staff vehicles?? There were 2 other parking "lots" nearby in the neighborhood but required driving through muddy construction, parking in VERY dark and sketchy looking lots and walking back to the hotel through all of the muddy construction. This should have been mentioned beforehand. The price was $988 for 4 nights, but we'll pay more to stay in Ottawa next time.

Nice park close by close to the river with options of boat cruise you can get to within walking distance. Cons: Breakfast was not included as changes were recently made to the hotel/restaurant.
