Barceló Karmina - All Inclusive

This was a fantastic vacation location. The food was great, so many pools to choose from, the rooms were clean and well taken care of. Felt very safe on the resort. Loved the bed! Wish I knew what mattress it was because I need a new one.

We visited at the end of October 2024. We visit the area often either in February or October / November because otherwise it gets super hot and humid. The property is very nice, clean, and well kept. Our room was nice and clean. There are people cleaning 24/7. One morning we woke up to have coffee during the sunrise and they were out there raking the beach. I was very impressed. Pools galore. Pretty much the outer perimeter is all pool or beach. However, none has a waterside bar. It would have been nice to have one or two to have better access to drinks. They do have waiters walking around bringing drinks but you find yourself waiting long periods of time. The breakfast buffet is very good. Dinner however was a bit lacking. The dinner buffet had odd non-Mexican food and nothing appetized me. Curry chicken? No thanks. One night the only fruit that was offered was papaya which I like, but was hard and not ripe at all. The snack bar was also lack luster. Hot dogs and hamburgers. We had stayed at other resorts where they had chicken wings, nachos, tacos, burritos, sandwiches, and many more choices. Need to pick up the pace here. My last gripe was dealing with towels. There is only 1 towel station at the end of the resort. So, needless to say if you went to the opposite side or even the middle, it was a trek to turn in or exchange towels. At least 2 more stations are needed. My gripes are small and would not detour me from visiting again. We did enjoy our stay.

No cuentan con valet parking por lo que el huésped tiene que llevar su auto a estacionar después de dejar las maletas en la entrada. Nos entregaron la habitación que yo había reservado y hasta ese momento nos avisaron que por hospedarte 3 noches ya tienes derecho a una cena en uno de sus 3 restaurantes de especialidades (Japonés, Italiano o Mexicano) sin embargo dicha reservación no la puedes hacer con anticipación y solo es a través del concierge que se establece en el lobby de 10am a 1pm todos los días. Al día siguiente de nuestra llegada lo intentamos reservar con dicho concierge que no llegó y nos acabaron atendiendo en recepción y nos dijeron que el Japonés estaba cerrado 3 días de la semana por lo que solo checaron disponibilidad en Italiano (no hubo) y Mexicano (solo este pudimos probar). Cabe mencionar que la cocina a pesar de ser Mexicana carece de auténtico sabor (sin grasa o sin picante). El servicio de los meseros fue muy bueno en todo momento, las albercas, baños, gym y habitaciones limpias. Tuvimos un problema con el frigobar de nuestra habitación pero lo cambiaron inmediatamente tras reportarlo. Hay albercas familiares y hay albercas exclusivas para adultos, lo cual también se agradece 😃

No servia el elevador, pero aparte de eso, es un lugar con perfecta relacion calidad - precio, ideal para toda la familia, albercas para todos, y el tobogan... lo mas!!!

Awsome pools, great walk areas delicious food fantastic nightly shows and extremley poolite staff.

Grounds were beautiful & lush, filled with tropical birds & iguanas. Meticulously maintained with grounds keepers & pool boys on site every day. Resort is located within a secure country club golf course & right next door to a walkable malecon with scenic views & photo-ops. You can go out of the resort doors & walk these areas in the day time, while still being behind the secure country club gate. This portion of coastline is very tourist friendly, with several living retired in condos. Resort was luxury built, with wonderful onsite amenities. Some of the building is starting to show its age, but staff is everywhere keeping things clean & polished, making for a wonderful & comfortable experience. Beds were the most comfortable vacation beds we’ve ever slept on. Pool area: you have a couple different bars, plus waiters walking around taking drink orders, so you never have to leave your chair if you don’t want to! Private beach area has a combo of swimmable sand area & rock marine gardens you could snorkel while tide is high. Staff is friendly & always ready to take care of you. Onsite restaurants are delicious, but the buffet also has wonderful flavor & options. Downside: pools were very cold & not fun to get in; ocean was warmer. Multiple pool levels, but felt small & hard to find a quiet spot. Premier room did not come with the advertised welcome wine tray tequila bottle. Tried to upgrade room a month out but told we couldn’t until arrival, when prices were much higher.

Everything was very good and very nice installationsfood,shows the drinks ext , The only problem was the Internet was not working in my room or the hotel I hade to leave the hotel and find a place that had Internet because I hade video my conference call from work. That’s the only thing that got me mad and was very disappointing A lot of people are still working, even though there on vacation. I’m thinking of going again but this time with all my family. Hope that they got this problem fixed. So I don’t have to go out and spend more money again just for Internet

We enjoyed the variety of pools on the property. The easy access to the hotel's beach and the calm and relaxing ocean waves. It was great to snorkel and view the variety of fish in the ocean. The hotel's friendly staff was attentive to one's request throughout our stay.

Everything is very nice and clean. Can't beat the all inclusive deal. You have everything you need within the resort. Clean pools clean garden areas. Everything was very nice.

La cama hay chinches y les picaron a mis hijas y les comentamos En la recepción y que eran sancudos y a las 4 de la mañana siguieron con más comezón hasta q las grabamos con el celular fueron que nos cambiaron la habitación en este año ya con este periodo vacacional son 4 veces que reservamos con ustedes la falta de empatía por parte del personal del día las personas de la noche más conscientes y obvio al no dormir Ya solo se disfrutó de medio día espero poner solución a esta situación ya que la categoría premier deja mucho que decir muy molesta ya que por eso se paga un costo

Había chinches en la cama, en una lluvia se cayeron unos muros del elevador y quedó inhabilitado. Albercas en buen estado, lo malo son las habitaciones y la comida no es en específico buena.

La amabilidad de los trabajadores es destacable. Me encantó la limpieza de la habitación y la comodidad de la cama. Sin duda servicio de calidad.

Entregan Muy sucia la habitación los baños sucios mal olor el personal que te recibe muy grosera en el lobby en check in la playa muy descuidada lleno de basura y falta seguridad en salvavidas solo se miraba una para todas las áreas el hotel está muy bonito pero los empleados te tratan como si te estuvieran haciendo un favor de mala gana desde que llegas ay mala atención y echan a perder las vacaciones

Limpieza y muy buen servicio.

CUIDADO con este hotel, el día 20 de Mayo mi hijo de 8 años de edad sufrió lesiones provocadas por chinches. Cabe destacar que nos acercamos a recepción a hablar con la supervisora y en ningún momento nos ofreció atención médica por parte de su médico del hotel, como se supone que debería ser para cuidar por el bienestar de su huésped y más aún tratándose de un menor de edad. La supervisora vió las marcas de mi hijo y el estado en el que él se encontraba y aún así comentó que no creía que fuera esa la razón. En ese momento decidimos llevarlo a consulta médica por nuestra cuenta ya que su inflamación y comezón eran insoportable y más aún que eran muchas picaduras en todo su cuerpo. Después de una exhaustiva revisión por parte del médico determinó que efectivamente eran lesiones por chinches con una evolución menor a 24 horas para ese momento y mi hijo tuvo que recibir medicamento inmediatamente por el alto grado de alergia. Al volver al hotel la supervisora del hotel Barceló Karmina Manzanillo nos comentó que sus “expertos” habían revisado la habitación y habían determinado que eran mosquitos y que eran muy común en esa zona y que la sangre en las sábanas donde únicamente mi hijo había dormido había sido porque el niño había aplastado un mosquito y había esparcido la sangre por toda la cama él mismo. Imagínense esa respuesta tan absurda por parte de la supervisora y también fue la misma versión del Director y es evidente que fue una total mentira. Anexo fotografías.

Clean room, ocean view

El hotel es muy bonito, tiene vistas increíbles al mar así como jardines muy bien cuidados y bonitos. Sus albercas están muy bonitas aunque para mi gusto les falta que el agua esté más templada. La playa aunque es pequeña es bonita y prácticamente es una alberca de agua salda; puedes nada muy a gusto. La comida es buena. El personal muy amable. Los únicos inconvenientes que tuve fueron dos: el aire acondicionado de mi habitación falló en dos acusaciones pero en cuanto lo reporte fueron a arreglarlo. Y que la puerta de mi habitación hacía mucho ruido al cerrarla. Me gustaría aclarar que mi viaje fue en temporada baja así que me la pasé muy bien, pero considero que en temporada alta los camastros son insuficientes, es la percepción que me dio, que no hay suficientes camastros cuando el hotel está lleno.

La habitación estaba algo vieja y con fallas, no prendía una luz principal y unas puertas corredizas no funcionaban. Tenía un olor extraño todo el tiempo a viejo jaja

Nicely maintained, large rooms

We didn't get the room with the sea view, I complain to the manager and they told me the pictures to choose the rooms, that that was only for advertisement. I think i did pay for a good room, so I didn't get what I spect it. And in the room the air-conditioner, water was leaking to the floor.

Rooms need an upgrade. The air conditioning unit was really loud and the door to the room was difficult to lock. Staff and service were very good. Especially the activity team. They do a great job keeping everyone entertained during the day with different activities.

Me gusta mucho este hotel, pero algunas habitaciones ya está muy descuidado los cuartos, el aire tiraba agua, las puertas no cerraban bien, había un olor desagradable, la tele no funcionaba bien.

Room view was excellent

We stayed here for our anniversary. We had the best time. The second day we did many of the activities and the event staff were wonderful. The shows in the evening were very well done and the extremely talented dancers and singers went to the disco afterwards and were very interactive with the guests which made the evening so enjoyable. Our main critique would be our actual room had a musty smell and the AC made a clicking sound. I would stay here again though as we honestly had a frantic time and didn’t spend much time in our room.

I reserved 2 rooms for 4 nights for me and my family. This is our second time coming to this resort and love it! The atmosphere is great and exterior is kept up with (pools, cabanas, restaurants, etc) but the interior is a bit outdated and had some issues that we needed to address. 1. Bathroom door was broken and would not lock properly 2. AC was not working 3.small refrigerator did not power on 4. Mattress smelled of urine We were switched to a different room and all of those issues were resolved it’s just the small things I feel especially being on the “VIP floor” that these problems shouldn’t happen as we pay extra for top tier service. Restaurants were all great just a small issue with buffet they didn’t attend to us with drinks we had to keep walking around to ask for some or they would come super late

Staff and service was amazing

The staff is very disrespectful and will up charge you any any chance they get. I had booked through Expedia and I added four people and when I got there, they charged me again for the other people they said I never added Called Expedia they said they would have them wave it but the resort Barcelo still rejected and said they were still gonna charge extra. $800 extra that I wasn’t expecting there staff is rude and unprofessional

The hotel and pool areas were beautiful, and the staff from the beach bar were very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the front desk stuff was not the most helpful and had a bad, rude attitude. Starting with being in the line (for both check-in and check-out) and openly being skipped by the front desk staff and letting other customers go in front of me. Then, charging almost $6,000 mx pesos to add a person to my room for only 1 night! Finally, I still had hope for the front desk staff and the day before checking-out I asked if I could do a late checkout… their answer, almost $500 mx pesos PER HOUR!!! The hotel barely had customers (more than half of the rooms seemed to be available), so they had availability with no problem to let a customer checkout a little late. The staff said that members have more privileges, like late checkout, so if you’re not a member (like me) they treat you like they’re doing you a favor by staying with them. At that point I gave up, and I was more than happy to checkout early and get out of the asap before they emptied my wallet!! This hotel wants to charge you for everything and anything (even though it is an “all inclusive” hotel. Total ripoff :( There won’t be a next time in this hotel. P.S. the food was OK, not impressed.

Todo mal desde recepción. Falta de atención y empatía. Poco criterio para ayudar parece que te hacen el favor. Según es todo incluido y 3 restaurantes de especialidades mismos que no puedes usar ni reservar hasta después de la tercer noche. El restaurante del bufete está escaso no sabe a nada la comida. Ni desayuno, no comida, no cena nada sabe bueno. El bar solo abre hasta las 5 pm Literal no vuelvo!!!!!! ❌❌❌🤢🤢🤢 Fue la peor opción que pudimos tomar.

Mi experiencia en Barceló Karmina el 30 de mayo de 2025 fue profundamente decepcionante. Para ser un hotel que presume tener 4 diamantes, la falta de empatía, organización y atención al huésped fue simplemente inaceptable. Desde nuestra llegada, intentaron ofrecernos una "mejora" a Premier Level, prometiendo beneficios como reservaciones garantizadas en restaurantes de especialidad. Afortunadamente no aceptamos, ya que solo había un restaurante abierto por noche debido a que era temporada baja, lo cual anula completamente el valor de ese supuesto beneficio. Imagínense si hubiéramos pagado aproximadamente $10,000 pesos más por algo que en la práctica no estaba disponible. Totalmente deshonesto. Después vino el apagón nocturno: de 1:30 a.m. a 7:20 a.m. sin electricidad ni agua, en habitaciones sin ventilación y con calor sofocante. Sí, lo avisaron… pero con una nota fría, impersonal y sin el más mínimo gesto de atención humana. No hubo seguimiento, apoyo, ni comunicación durante horas. Una experiencia incómoda, estresante y nada digna de un hotel de esta categoría. En el área de alberca y playa, los platos sucios se quedan por horas, atrayendo hormigas, aves y generando un ambiente poco higiénico. Decepcionante y nada cuidado. Y para rematar: al hacer el check-out a las 12:00 p.m., nadie del personal o gerencia ofreció una disculpa por lo ocurrido. Ni una palabra. Un silencio que habla mucho del tipo de atención que reciben los huéspedes aquí. Me voy molesta, decepcionada

Room was fabulous, staff was friendly and helpful, food was great, A superb vacation as always, our families 6 or 7th time at the resort!!

I came to check in at 3:00 and received my room key and info roughly an hour later, it should not have taken an hour to get checked in... The food lacked spices and flavor. Staff is polite but when checking in staff did not inform us entirely of what's included and forgot to give us the info page and inform us on the restaurant reservation requirements

I don't drink much myself , but I could see there was plenty to drink and the waiters would come around the pool and beach areas to ask people if they were okay. The hotel has a beautiful landscape architecture and a private little beach. Small paradise. I'm planning to go back next year with the whole family.

The little beach real good, unfortunately has not connection at all with the regular beach

It is a quiet and pleasant place

This beach was illegally privatized, since in Mexico anyone is free to access any beach without having to be a hotel guest. As a guest, it wasn't good for me either, because the property boundary didn't allow me to walk the along the beach (as I usually do on vacation). I really Likes the food

Barcelo has easy access to rooms, with elevators and many options for food. Location is also easy to get to, and close to shops.

La instalaciones son buenas aun con los años que ya tienen, pero el servicio de Alimentos y bebidas es de baja calidad, aun siendo un hotel todo incluido los alimentos en sus bufete dejan mucho que mejorar, gracias.

Clean room and installations , great staff and all the departments Poor food quality it’s more quantity over quality . For been a barcelo resort disappointed.

There are only 3 restaurants and were closed or booked during my stay. The food was ok and the variety very limited.

Las opciones de bebidas limitadas en horarios y opciones. Personal, muy amable y atento Vista al mar muy linda. Las comidas, la verdad muy malas sin sabor y pocas opciones de restaurantes. El restaurante italiano, !! MALÍSIMO !!

Pros: Staff was very courteous. Room was spacious. Spa services were fantastic. Beautiful resort with great pools and pool service. Specialty restaurant staff was amazing. Cons: buffet food was just okay, snack bar was meh. Only one specialty restaurant was open per night so no choices, the Japanese restaurant was closed every night we were there.
