Pool and hot tub are not well maintained.

The photos of the hotel were really deceiving. It was not nearly as nicely renovated as photos made it look. The hot tub was filthy as well and bathtub was dirty

The swimming pool area needs to be more clean, as well as the carpet throughout the hotel and in the bedroom. The washroom cleanliness needs improvement.

It was good. The exterior needs to be ploughed when it snows.

The room was out of date. The bathroom walls had holes, the tub was painted and the parking lot never got plowed. It snowed so much and yet no one took care of the parking lot or walk way. To have a room with parking lot access defeats the purpose when your snowed in from using that entrance.

Room was clean and nice. Pool was cold, but the hot tub was great. Good breakfast too.

I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. The staff went over and above for us. We had 2 babies and a tonne of bags and a big heavy cooler to bring to the 2nd floor (no elevator) the lady at the desk immediately said she would help bring our bags up. A young house cleaner helped as well. At breakfast, the sausage and eggs were cooked to perfection and they even served fresh baked blueberry muffins….FRESH….STILL HOT. The gentleman working the breakfast area even offered straws for out 2- 2 year olds. When I declined because they were too long, he went and cut them to size for them. HOW FANTASTIC is that. Such awesome service. The place was clean and smelt nice. Wasn’t loaded with air fresheners to mask a musty smell. It was actually nice smelling. Pool area was great as well. Thank you for a great stay, keep up the good work

terrible stay. do not recommend if you’re looking to feel safe and comfortable. Hallways were dirty (garbage), smelt musty. Room gave me the ick as soon as I walked in. Holes in the wall, stains everywhere, dirty towels, stained sheets, found hair, not all lights worked, tv barely worked. The only thing convenient about this place was the location…and maybe the microwave (if it even works) lol. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Room was disgusting- stained sheets, shower curtain moldy and hair in the bathtub. No parking. The toilet came out of the wall when you sat on it. Staff was unfriendly and unaccomodating but likely because they’re extremely understaffed and having to deal with endless complaints

Very outdated property - doesn’t look anything like the photos online. You can tell the floors are rotting under the carpets in the hallways, the hallways smell like smoke, chemicals, and B.O. I was shocked that they require a $500 deposit, while somewhere wayyyy nicer would only require $200 tops. Rooms themselves were relatively clean, but lots of chipped paint, stains, and broken fixtures. I would recommend looking at other properties unless this is your only option.

I guess for the price, its what should be expected. The room was dirty, the bathroom fixtures where far from sanitized. Build up of old soap / conditioner/ body wash on the dispensers. The sheets and pillow cases on the bed were stained, the outside walks are covered in thick ice from the roof, and is a law suit waiting happen. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We found cockroaches in our bathroom in the middle of the night. Had a hard time falling asleep after that.

Lamps by the bed did not work. Coffee machine did not work. Pillow cases were yellowish. Tub was not clean.

Nice staff and clean rooms

Room itself was okay, bathroom had mold and was quite gross, old faucet, sink had rust stains, bathtub felt like it was melting into the floor, two towels for four adults and very noisy in the hallway

Our room was not clean when we checked in.

Bathtub was filthy, mold in the corners of the caulking. Carpet was dirty. Both the main entrance door and patio door were almost falling off. No shampoo or conditioner in the room.

Room was fairly clean, staff friendly, but sheets were a bit light for the time of year and there was no sound insulation, could hear ppl talking in the lobby from the hotel room

On main floor the room above us was incredibly loud and it transferred through. Very very outdated and water in the room had an odor. Door had to be forced shut and barely locked

Overall this hotel is average. The floor on the second floor is made out of wood therefore you can here people walking in the hallway. Parts of the room seemed to have been renovated but forgot to replace the doors. Breakfast was sufficient.

Our first room had a big stain on the bedspread black hairs. Our second room had a whole in the wall the bathroom door has the paint all scratched off, the light switch in the bathroom is not safe. The breakfast is right at the front door in the winter it is so cold you can't sit there.There was a hockey team in the hotel the children were running up and down the halls all evening yelling screaming pushing the luggage cart with kids riding on it, the front desk could not control the situation,we couldn't even get near the pool. I will not ever stay here again.

Heater in room sounded like an airplane taking off .. very very very loud sounded broken.

Service was good, hotel was clean and beds were comfortable. Room was updated, bathroom poorly updated. Floors seemed noisy and our curtains didn’t close all the way and there was a security light that came directly into our room. Breakfast was decent and staff was very polite. We would stay here again as the price was great.

Overall not a bad stay. It appears they had tried to complete some updates and renovations but didn’t quite get it all done. Our room in particular was not well finished and had lots to be desired.

Terrible. It took 45 minutes. Only one lady at reception. She turned down multiple people at 2:30 telling them to come back at 3:00 pm causing a huge lineup as multiples families were checking in due to a hockey tournament for their kids. Like, all rooms are only available at 3:00?! A second one arrived at 3:30 and finally got the line moving.

This trip was the second time our room was given away by the time we arrived. We were given a lesser room with no part refund. In the summer we booked a ground floor with patio door so we could bring in gear without disturbing all the other guests. When we arrived at 9pm the room was no longer available and the front desk said they did not see it. This time we phoned ahead to remind them and to let them know we were arriving around 9pm. AGAIN the front desk took a key card and walked to check on a room then came back and said the room was not available. When I objected he too said he did not see it. Verbatim of the summer visit. I had the booking receipt to prove I booked a ground floor room with patio door , and they did see it and we called ahead this time. leading me to believe it is a small scam where you book on Expedia but when arrive are down sized with no refund.

There's a path that leads to the back door entrance and street kids come in each night to hang out in the halls, charge their phones, and vape. The room was in disrepair and when I tried to phone the front desk, they didn't answer.

When we arrived there was one girl working. She was very unorganized and it took forever to get checked in. Also it was very noisy.

Checked into our room o find that it hadn't been cleaned. Beds were unmade and floor needed vacuuming. Front desk upgraded us to king room with pullout couch. Everything in the room was worn out, poorly maintained and dirty. Sink clogged, bathtub shower walls stained, multiple drywal patches on walls (extremely poorly repaired), door to get in and out of room bent enough to the point that you had to force it shut. Bathroom door had overspray and stains on it. 3 light bulbs burnt out. Paint runs/streaks around window frame. Don't think the painters used tape, extremely poor workmanship. Whoever Days Inn are using to maintain this property should be replaced. If you like the bright white harsh hospital lighting look then this hotel is for you. Extremely sterile feel to this bright white l.e.d.lighting. The only saving grace was that the staff were beyond friendly and accommodating. Days Inn corporate should have more supervision of their franchisee's properties. We expect a higher level of standards from a chain such as Days Inn. The cost of this room was certainly not justified.

The staff was excellent in helping us cancel our reservation due to a family issue. Very pleased with the staff willingness to take charge and help us. Will definitely be back when we come back to Barrie

It was what I expected for the price I paid. This place is older and well used, but well kept and clean. The access to the hotel was difficult due to construction, but that will end. Good friendly service from all the staff I met.

The pool was cloudy and dirty. The hot tub was very cold. I had to call the front desk because the conditioner and bodywash bottles were empty - when she did decide to answer the phone, she told me to go down and get more myself (which normally is fine but these should have been in my room and I had my 3 young children with me so leaving isn't as easy). She would answer the phone then put it right on hold but never come back. There was nobody in the lobby. Then I had to call at midnight because people were yelling and running in the halls (non stop since 7pm). I didn't mind...until midnight. Of course, the front desk person still wouldn't answer the phone.

Proximity to highway and restaurants.

A good deal for a basic room with wi-fi, pool and hot tub. Good amenities in walking distance...convenience stores, Indian and Middle Eastern restaurants and various fast food like Pizza, etc.

Located on the low income side of Barrie. The walk to downtown is about 30 min, but not the safest area to walk though. Hotel was mediocre. Rooms were clean, hotel hallways smell awful.

It’s a great place to stay and so close to the highway and many great places

Near highway

Very nice room. Problems: phone broken and cannot fix same day, internet password was not given at check in, no soap in shower, no change room in pool area, noisy neighbors, The breakfast: not enough room or food. Hours were to early. No credit offered for these problems.

It was a very comfortable stay at Days Inn Barrie. I don’t know why there were many negative reviews about this hotel. I got a room on the second floor. The bed was super comfy and I loved the sofa with side table where I can eat dinner and watch TV. Room was clean and had a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. The TV unfortunately didn’t have many good channels, I was disappointed, and there were no streaming apps, I had to use my own iPad to stream movies/TV shows. A free breakfast was offered, and I was pleasantly surprised that there were sausages and scrambled eggs. Bread and waffles were also offered, along with coffee, tea and juice. They didn’t offer fruit, muffins or yogurt though. Oh, the breakfast guy actually does stare at you as you take the sausages and eggs lol. It was kind of weird, but I guess they have to keep an eye to make sure you don’t grab all of the sausages or something. But he did walk back into the kitchen but then he comes back out. My stay was nice and quiet, I only heard people walking by and banging doors, there were no screaming people and nobody knocked on my door. I guess there are less homeless people around now. I would stay here again, I just wish they’d upgrade their TVs lol.

Great value and we had a nice stay. I was very impressed with the continental breakfast bar and Matt our host there. The kitchen and dining area was very clean, well stocked and organized and Matt was attentive the needs of the guests.

Staff was good, room could have been much better. One bulb burned out in bathroom. Body wash container empty ? Toilet paper holder keeps pulling out upon usage. Breakfast was good.

Excellent breakfast

I was not impressed. I stay at another brand of hotels that are in the lower price range like this and find them to be way better. Staff was okay. Breakfast was not good, very few options, scrambled eggs were cold. Bathtub was old with low water pressure. The bathroom door was marked up quite a bit with paint missing. Hall door didn’t always close automatically. I looked up some restaurants on the information kiosk upfront, luckily I googled the restaurant I thought about going to because it was permanently closed. That needs updating. I did not see any accessible parking spaces. The bed was comfortable. The pool and hot tub were nice.
