No bar on site. Restaurant and bar were next door. The train noise was manageable as long as you kept the balcony door closed. The hotel room was okay, a little tired looking but the view was awesome of the Fraser River. It is advertised as a 3 star hotel and I think that rating fits. The ladies on the day shift at the front desk were very nice but the gentleman on the night shift was not so helpful. The facility was close to family so very convenient. I did not like the underground parking situation much. At times it was hard to find parking, nothing was reserved for hotel guests only. Travelling by myself I didn't like coming back at night and being in the underground parking by myself as it was open and not gated. The ammenities lacked such as the hotel store to pick up snacks etc. Some floors had an ice and pop machine. I would think about staying here again if there wasn't something else closer and a bit newer. The nightly rate was $303 canadian (expedia rate) and I feel like the amenities and room could have been better.

They didnt have a lot of the normal conveniences that hotels should have. No vending machines other than drinks. No toothbrush at reception. No tums / rolaids, many hotels have that little store inside, none. Lights were burned out, other than lamps. Clean, nice room otherwise

No microwave was available to in the lobby, and the stairmaster in the fitness center did not work properly (selecting a program did not work; had to manually increase the level), but what was really disappointing was going to the restaurant next door, The Boathouse, after the hotel clerk handed me a card that stated a 20% discount if we eat at there. My companion and I relied on the card and ordered food that totaled over $200. We were handed the bill, however, that showed a $20 deduction, not 20%. When I questioned the bill, the manager was called who explained that the card is good for up to $20. I asked why it was not mentioned on the card and she said to talk to the hotel clerk, so I did. The hotel clerk said that she never heard of the $20 limit. I went back to the manager and she stormed to the front desk to tell the clerk about the limit. Not getting the discount was ok with me; it was the restaurant manager's rude behavior that bothered me. She made no apology whatsoever and just gave me this 'too bad' attitude. We had favorite restaurants to go to in New Westminster. We tried The Boathouse only because of the offer that turned out to be misleading.

The hotel was quite unassuming at first glance, but pleasantly surprising. While the rooms looked small in the photos, they’re actually spacious and well laid out. Everything was clean and well maintained. That said, a few updates wouldn’t hurt to bring the space a bit more up to date, like adding a safe in every room, for example, would be a practical improvement. The location is excellent, conveniently within walking distance to several amenities. The Craft Café, just a few steps away, was such a great find (the food and coffee are fantastic), and the Sabai Thai Spa nearby was an absolute treat. All in all, a very comfortable and well-situated stay.

Have stayed previously. Nice location and amenities. Nice rooms. This visit housekeeping was lacking. Entered our room to find it hadn't been changed over yet. New room we were moved to had previous guest's pants and underwear under vanity. Was pushed quite far under and was likely missed, but these details are important. Let front desk know on checkout. Otherwise really like this hotel and location. Front end friendly.

The bathrooms havent been updated since i stayed in 2009. Really dated, dirty grout, tiny bathtub. The beds are comfy and the linens are good quality. Staff are very nice. Love being right on the river.

Our room had a stunning panoramic view across the Fraser River, with a corner balcony. Nice touch was the robes, useful as a fog rolled in so we kept warm while watching the tug boats pull the timber up the river.

The view and location where amazing. We enjoyed watching the boats and barges going up and down the river day and night from our room. We also enjoyed walking the board walk and the easy access to the SkyTrain. The only thing that we didn't like was the peeling wallpaper in the bathroom and the tub that was missing parts. Probably needs a remodel.

Location isn't as accessible from the metro station as it looks. There are many stairs and a roundabout path must be taken to get to the hotel from the train. Room wasn't available when I arrived, which is fine, but I had to go back and check with the front desk to figure out when one was ready, I never got a text or email. Room had a nice view but was otherwise unremarkable. My partner described the mattress as "carboard-like". The shower head in the shower was so low I had to squat to wash my hair and I'm not even that tall of a girl. But things were generally pretty clean.

No parking in front. Went to parkade but no key to get up and had to walk through and up. Front desk person was mediocre and just handed keys with no info on pool, wifi etc. got up after 5 hours of travel and couldn’t find a room service menu. Called down to front desk and they told us to come down for it - wow awesome service we are paying for. Received room service and room was decent but no seasoning brought up, no water. Just a plate on a tray with silverware. First and last stay for us.

Middle of the night, couldn’t sleep so stepped out onto the little patio for some air. Wear shorts and a t-shirt, after a minute turned to go inside and the sliding door wouldn’t. I WAS ALONE….called the desk from my cell which I thankfully had, and called the desk. They said they were sending someone up. 10 minutes pass, freezing at this point, I call back. Any second now I was told. 20 minutes, and 2 more phone calls later, some guy came into the room and opened the door. I immediately packed my stuff, handed over the keys, and left for another hotel….in the middle of the night!! No explanation, no apology. Waiting for a refund.

I was exhausted from my very early flight and reached the hotel at 2:30 pm. To my surprise my room was ready and they allowed me to check in early and gave me a little welcome bag with water and snacks. Room was spacious with a beautiful water view. The hotel is located closed to the train and a lot of restaurants. Loved my stay.

Check in staff at the reception was this older lady that looked extremly stressed and irritable when I was in the process of signing in and had to take a important phone call. My other party of 2 volunteered to check in while she waited, but was rudely told that she cannot do that and has to wait to till she checks me in. Found that to be extremely unfriendly for some in the hospitality business Other staff members were friendly though

This property is not what it used to be. I stay here at least once a year, sometimes twice. Unfortunately, the staff has been the biggest disappointment—they're neither polite nor welcoming. Whenever you ask for something, it feels like you're bothering them. For example, I requested a box of Kleenex, and the receptionist pulled out her own OPENED box from under her desk rather than going to the back room to get a new one! The location is excellent, but like many hotels in good locations, it seems they're no longer putting in the effort. It feels as if we're supposed to be satisfied with the location alone, and that’s disappointing. I think I'll choose a hotel closer to Metrotown next time - it's only about 10 min drive from this hotel.

Clean and welcoming hotel near the Expo Sky Train which can get you downtown in 30 minutes and the airport in 60. All rooms have a view of the Fraser and their is the ability to walk on the Broadwalk along the river.

Staff were friendly and room was comfortable. There is a sign in the hotel lobby that says "be nice to your housekeeper, she's alone with your toothbrush" if I was the manager I would take this sign down. The Boathouse restaurant did not offer any vegetarian entrees.

I travel to B.C. a couple of times a year and i wouldn't stay anywhere else. The accommodations are wonderful and the sevice is always, friendly and professional. The rooms are always kept to the highest standards and there is ample on-site parking for a nominal fee. There is shopping on the boardwalk, as well as good dining options. The Boathouse restaurant has a gret choice of delicious seafood and friendly bartenders if you do the adult beverage thing. The view of the Quay is beautiful with backed by the cityscape which is stunning at night. You should go for a peaceful, enjoyable stay.

Beautiful hotel room. Great check in and welcome. Lovely robes. Restaurant downstairs was terrible. Expensive and the food was cooked poorly. Fish very dry and overdone. Potatoes were half raw. Way over priced for the quality. Went for our 25th anniversary dinner and the meal was very disappointed.

Beautiful view, Nice property The Boathouse, beyond management's control (I assume) had no heat. There was no signage stating they didn't have heat (and it was snowing). No one said anything until you've already ordered and asked if they could turn the heat up...did they say sorry, our heating system is broken.

Room was nice, clean & appealing. Great location close to restaurants, transportation, shopping. No safe in room was dissapointing and there was no fresh brewed coffed on site and the restaurant does not open until 9am. *there a coffee machine in the suite but it is located in the bathroom which is unappealing.
