The hotel is beautiful. There were obvious carpet stains in the hallways and the room. The staff was accommodating in letting our kids swim in the pool before checking in. *The pool hadn’t started to be heated yet, this is important for later.* Our reservation was for a king suite with our children. We specifically requested extra pillows, blankets and towels for the pullout couch. When we got to the room there was no bedding for them. We called the front desk to request them and those extra towels so the kids could shower since they were shivering. 20 minutes later, no one came. Called down again, the woman said “the request hasn’t been entered, I’ll do it now.” Like, what? Staff finally came up and brought the bedding, no towels. At this point, we just had them use pool towels, I wasn’t calling again. We went to the welcome reception and got some snacks and drinks. My kids got to feed the Koi, which they enjoyed. They weren’t tired yet and wanted to take the stairs back to our room on the 5th floor. Big mistake. The stairwell smelled like piss. We encountered a few steps of what looked like dry vomit. These were emergency exits BUT when I called to let the desk know, no one answered the phone. Multiple calls spaced over 15 minutes and no one answered. Overall the hotel has the potential to be beautiful but they seem short staffed. It definitely needs a deep cleaning.
