Homewood Suites by Hilton Syracuse/Liverpool

I want to start off by saying I loved this hotel for the beautiful property and employees. The grounds are well maintained, the pool was clean and the service was great!! Our rooms AC didn’t work when we first arrived so we assumed it just needed to be turned down more. After turning it down and leaving for a few hours, we arrived with no change to the temperature in the room. I went to the office and asked for assistance and they were very accommodating and came right away! (It was also 8-830 at night mind you) On the flip side, we noticed the carpet needed to be shampooed. The carpet was sticky to walk on and made our feet black. This wasn’t a HUGE deal for us but definitely something that should to be brought up. Maybe it was just our room, I’m not sure. This was just our experience here.

This place is great! We’ve stayed her many times and it’s always good! All the staff is very pleasant and if you need anything for your room like towels etc, just ask and you’ll receive. I like the size of the rooms, having a kitchen area with a full refrigerator and a king size comfortable bed. Love the pool too! The only thing they should have though are umbrellas at the tables in the pool area. It was very hot and muggy( which I don’t mind) when we were just there, but it would’ve been nice to have an umbrella for some shade! Otherwise everything was great!

What a great Hotel! We’ve stayed here twice! Great experience both times! Not only do they have a great free breakfast every morning, on Wednesdays they have a free dinner including Beer & Wine!! We 100% recommend this hotel!!

Didn't like being in building number 2 since breakfast is in building number 1. If it's really cold out you don't want to be going across the parking lot for breakfast.

Overall this is a decent hotel at a good price and the typical conveniences of Homewood Suites (primarily the expanded kitchen amenities and a good hot breakfast). The star of the show is the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff. Definitely one of the best I've encountered in my travels, including some expensive hotels that pride themselves on their service. The decor in the rooms is definitely outdated (maybe early 2000s) and the fitness center is pretty bare bones, but the hotel is overall good value. A couple relatively easy areas of improvement should someone from Homewood Suites read this: adding smart TV capabilities (if you want to recruit a younger crowd this seems like an easy change which would also be great for families with small children), and adding at least 1 more pet station since only having one is difficult depending on which room you're in.

The hotel shares transfer services with multiple other hotels! That being said we waited over an hour to get a ride back to the hotel after midnight! Our plane arrived at 11:45 pm and after several phone calls got back to the hotel at 1:20 in the morning!

I appreciated the airport shuttle service as we got in late.

Wonderful staff, we had an issue with our room and they immediately took care of the problem. The facility is clean, the rooms are spacious are comfortable. It has an outside pool great for families with small kids. Highly recommended

The main building is beautiful. The staff was very friendly, upbeat, and helpful. The room was comfortable but could use updated carpets. However, I booked this specific hotel it said on expedia that it has a pool. Being NYS i automatically thought an indoor pool. My children were very disappointed to find out it was an outdoor pool. The advertising should be made clear that it is not an indoor pool.

Perfect for a family of four adults who need a little more space. Very clean. The only thing not super convenient was the buildings were all separate; you have to walk to the main building for breakfast and to check-in and check out.

Beautiful rooms but both our beds had obviously not been changed as there was black hair in both beds, they brought us new sheets when we called but it was gross.

Stayed at this property with my daughter. Check in was fast and staff was wonderful. Lobby looked clean and was very inviting. Unfortunately our room was in terrible condition. Major stains on the carpets outside our room. Room was dark, dirty, outdated and falling apart. The closet in the room was completely off the tracks, storage shelves in closet were falling apart. Dishwasher was literally falling out of the cabinets. Curtains from probably the 90’s were very hard to open close. Room was dirty. Bottle cap and hair on floor in bathroom and also hair in shower. Sink fixtures were extremely old and covered in a hard water rust. Bed in bedroom had a glob of something orange and I honestly don’t think it was washed. Carpets were old and dirty. Furniture was all dinged up and looked like it’s been there 20 years. Our fan was so loud in the bathroom and there was so much dust in our bathroom vent. We were in room 200. Location itself was off a main road and kinda secluded. Not much parking for guests and spots were small. We did get 2 texts from the hotel asking us if we were satisfied. Instead of causing a fuss we cleaned the room ourselves. Luckily the sheets were clean and we brought pillows from home. Beds were comfortable. I was extremely surprised by the condition of our room after reading so many reviews. Maybe we just weren’t lucky with our room. Cannot recommend this place and will not stay again.

when I first entered the room for the first time, I discovered that the conditioner bottle mount was broken, and the bottle was sitting in the tub. Additionally, the room hadn’t been cleaned.

I didn’t like them at the carpeting in the hotel room turned my grandchildren’s feet black….jet black…the carpets need to be replaced

For context, I have stayed in Hilton properties around the world and have been generally pleased which is one reason I booked this place. It is an exception. First of all the space was very small. Not much to do about that so I won’t dwell on it. The kitchen area has a weird floor. I don’t know what it was but it felt like vinyl, I imagine for cleaning purposes, but it was sticky. :-( The table had a flat base and it was also sticky. :-( The burners on the two burner stove did not sit flat so I didn’t use it. The dishwasher had all of the dishes in it and it was warm when I came in. This is where it gets a little weird. I travel with a very good UV flashlight. Now before you get excited and think this is unfair, know that I use this same light when I clean my own bathroom. You only need to see what it reveals once to know how much you miss with an average cleaning. The kitchen all appeared clean - even the sticky surfaces I mentioned. The bedroom appeared clean. The bathroom sink and tub were immaculate. The toilet and surrounding area however left much to be desired. I have a photo that I don’t know if I’ll be able to include here but visible is an unacceptable history of splashing on the outside of the bowl, the floor and the walls. I use this same light in every Air BnB house I stay in and none of them fail this test. I take a shower and the first thing I notice are my footprints in the tub! Black footprints from being barefoot in the rooms! Not impressed.

Sheets had hair on them, found a fake nail on bed. Bathroom floor not clean. Pull out bed very uncomfortable. Room was a little shabby, not as advertised. Fairly expensive for what we got, disappointed overall. Staff were nice.

This hotel was really great. Loved having a kitchen, although we didn’t cook anything it was great to have real dishes when we ordered food. Room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint would be that the walls are super thin. If anyone was in the hallway talking we could hear them as if they were right next to us. Also walking down the hallways we could hear people in their rooms. Other than that everything else was great.

TV’s didn’t work in either room

Some of the decor seems dated as do the bathrooms. The complimentary happy hour and breakfast were great.

The property is old and furniture needs to be updated all furniture was old and ac in the room was noisy . Suite needs a facelift

Room needs updating, there was a hole in the carpet, piece of the wall fell off in the bathroom. Service was amazing, everyone so friendly and helpful!!! Continental breakfast was really good with eggs and bacon!

It may be time to do a touch up in the rooms. Current in bedroom #100 would not close. The sliding. Closet doors were difficult to move then came off the track easily. Outlets throughout the suite did not work. The furniture was very comfortable along with the ammenities.

One night stay as part of our travel plan. We liked the fact that we could bring a take-out dinner back to the room and have plenty of space with all the utensils and plates provided. Also, the large refrigerator helped to store some food we were travelling with.

There is no soundproofing. My room on the 2nd floor felt like I was in someone's basement. I heard every footstep and the ceiling creaked and cracked. It woke me up numerous times over the night, when the upstairs guest got out of bed. I slept poorly and it was not good value, in my view.

Staff at desk were amazing they checked on us every day to make sure everything was fine! Just a great clean hotel to stay out!

Multiple staff members gave us a hard time about our service animal even though we provided certification evidence. One staff member tried to charge us a pet fee and another asked invasive personal questions.

Only 1 towel in room. On check in, we were charged double the price of what we booked the rooms for. The staff adjusted it to the original price.

Check in took a little while but we did get there way later in the night than expected. Breakfast was great and the dining area was very clean and homey. The dining attendants where very nice and attentive. They gave our girls coloring sheets. I wish the parking lot was bigger. It was a little difficult finding parking near the closest entrance to our room. Our toilet kept clogging so they ended up leaving the plunger in our room to use.

We were having heat issues and had excellent help to correct the problem

Staff were fantastic, breakfast buffet checked all the boxes and it was great value for money. Definitely exceeded our expectations and I'd for sure recommend to others I know.

Loved this place! Will definitely go again. Stayed in a suite with a nice little living room/kitchen area--clean and comfy. Great breakfast buffet. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Just a short drive from Desitiny Mall and downtown Syracuse. Thumbs up all the way around!

Quiet area, easily accessible from the highway. Suites are comfortable and the staff (the breakfast staff in particular), were helpful and very friendly. Various breakfast options, typical in taste, very acceptable. If I could have changed anything it would be the showerhead, water everywhere there shouldn't be.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Staff was excellent, rooms were exceptional. The breakfast was unbelievable. We had a service dog. The accommodations were five star all the way.
