Excellent location and great ocean view. The room was large & comfortable. Property was in need of general upkeep & repairs. The pool was not open. The access to the parking garage under the motel was difficult to maneuver & scraped the undercarriage of our car.

Great ocean front view. Restaurant & cafe are permanently closed. Pool area is permanently closed due to disrepair. Room has stale odor, but the sheets were clean. We were told the local fish factory has rented most of the rooms at this hotel for their migrant workers from Ecuador and Guatemala. Not worth the price we paid.

Loved the ocean view and the price. The elevator was super slow.

Had a ocean view room and it was beautiful, beds were comfy and room was fresh. Only recommendations, bring back breakfast and have a ramp to the ocean or somthing easier for beach access, the stairs are a doozy for those with health issues .

The rooms are very dated and multiple rooms had dangerous conditions. None working electrical outlets. Too many items plugged into limited outlets. No screens on 3rd floor windows. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind but the building is unsafe and in desperate need of repairs. The pool was closed and no mention of that was made when booking. This caused a very big disappoint for our trip. The view is incredible but for the cost there is much that needs improved

We usually just get a place to crash when we need to book a room. No frills. But this stay was not good, from start to finish, and I hope some wealthy investor will buy the property and restore it to what I'm assuming is its former glory. The positives: The view of the ocean from our room window was breathtaking, and the lady at the front desk was sweet and professional. The bathroom appeared to be immaculate. The entrance and exit to the parking garage slope so severely that if you have a lower sitting car, you scrape the underside each time. We had to walk in the rain back and forth between our room and the dirty, overly chlorinated pool to change and use the bathroom, because there were no guest bathrooms in the main building. The room was filthy. The lampshade had been turned toward the wall to hide old food spatter and dust. The art on the wall looked like moisture had gotten in the frame. Everything but the entertainment center and tabletops were covered in black dust. I know, because I wiped the room down. Not good for asthma sufferers. One functional outlet was found near floor, going to the door. One other working outlet was next to the smaller sink, and it was unsafe to use, as not to code. We bought a power strip so we couls charged our devices. There is no HVAC. I tried to get the fan out of the closet but it was covered in old food and a fuzzy, thick layer of dust. We slept with the small slider windows open. Not the best stay for us.

Water pressure is great, noise level not so great. Property clearly hasn't been updated in a long time, pool was not in use (water wasn't filled in pool), and internet was spotty. Otherwise, staff seemed friendly, place was clean, and felt safe.

There were bugs by all trash cans, bathroom was dirty, pool not in service, cant park in parking garage, it will ruin your car

False advertisement! Beware! Hotels.com has wrong pictures of this hotel. The restaurant has been closed for 5 years. The pool is also closed for repairs. The staff were very friendly. The owner of this property needs to attend to this property!

The view was very nice. Room was hot, not enough airflow. Pool was not working. Mechanical sound woke us up at 5 am. Bed was very comfortable

No breakfast at all, and there were actual bed bugs. I paid $300 for bed bug bites and no breakfast

Room was kinda dirty. The lampshades had stains. No turndown service. Pool was closed. Dirty handprints on the wall. Pet fee of $25 a night is ridiculous in a hole in the wall spot like this. No fan in the room for some air movement. Front desk staff was great. Im guessing this one will be torn down and rebuilt before too long.

I will not recommend for anyone to stay there. 2 of the pillow cases had a blood stain and rust on them. The pillows were dirty. Rust on the towel. Both lobby doors and parking doors won’t locked and can be accessible by anybody - non guest. No air conditioner! Had to ask front desk for a fan. Was told the restaurant and pool will be open (when I booked it through Expedia) but when got there the restaurant is closed and the pool is also closed due to lack of maintenance. Pictures on the website were very deceiving and/ or misleading.

Below average hotel. Photos make it look a lot better. Staff was kind. Room had an interesting smell and was a bit dirty. Hotel charged us nearly $200, this place is worth around $80.

I have stayed at numerous Shilo Hotels, and this was by far the worst. We paid over $180 for one night. This is not a $180 per night room or stay! There was mold/scum on the shower ceiling, rust stains on the floor around the toilet, the porcelain on the toilet tank lid was broken, the toilet seat needed to be replaced, the chairs in the room were covered in stains, the TV resolution was grainy/poor, the walls of the room were dirty and disgusting, and I would have to say that the worst part of it all… which we didn’t notice until we woke up the next morning… was the huge stain on the sheets that were on the bed our kids slept in!! They can’t even invest in new sheets or an upholstery cleaner?! That’s just the room. And what makes it even more frustrating is the fact that the hotel left a card in the room with the name of the individual who cleaned it, asking us to consider leaving a tip! Elevator buttons were broken. The pool is small and is supposed to be 3 feet to 8 feet however, the 3 foot area of the pool is only where the steps are to get in. But as soon as you step off the bottom step, the bottom of the pool immediately drops. There really is no 3 feet. That pool is a drowning hazard for kids. Their other pool is closed. The towels for the pool are big enough to wrap around a small child however, they are too small for older kids and adults. Their website photos show photos of a restaurant. However, their restaurant has been closed since last year. Disappointing.

The room was not clean and we we're informed they don't have housekeeping on the weekends.from the looks of things I don't believe they ever have housekeeping staff .there was hair in the tub and the room smelled .we brought our own blankets luckily.the price was not much lower than the neighboring up scale hotels

Great location and view. Very rundown and dirty. No hot water but I really didn’t want to shower anyway- just yucky.

We specifically wanted a view of the ocean. The window was so dirty we couldnt see through it. The resturaunt was closed which wasnt that big of a deal but we were excited about eating there. The coffee maker had not been cleaned in quite a while because the dust was pretty thick on top.

Nice ocean views. Be aware this hotel is not airconditioned. The window openings are small. They did provide a box fan that helped, but on a really hot day over an extended hot period might make this uncomfortable. There was a lock of available electrical outlets.

Adequate for one night is how I’d describe this Hotel. On the run-down side but clean and maintained. Room was spacious with a great view. No AC or way to get the air moving which made the room very warm considering the curtains were open and the afternoon sun was shining straight into the room when we checked in.

Very dated property. Stayed 4 nights, 2 of the days we had no hot water. Only stocked 2 towels in the room. No ac/ or fan for airflow when it was hot, so the room did not cool off until well after midnight with the window open. Awesome view of the ocean, but the window was very dirty.

It's an old property which lost its restaurant during COVID, and the pool was closed partly while I was there. BUT, all the rooms open directly on the ocean, and my room had huge windows that opened fully, so wonderful sound and smell of the sea and easy access to the wonderful beach. I strongly prefer having breakfast on site at a hotel, but you can walk to a couple decent places.

The Shilo was a good hotel. It was clean and the staff were great. It's older so it's in need of a few touchups-but we did not hear anyone in the rooms around us and the view was great! We would definitely stay here again. We stayed two nights-Friday-Sunday. No complaints. The shower was great-it had good water pressure. The room was a nice size.

It's sad to see a multi-million dollar property go from five star to two star. The only thing it has going for it is the view and the staff. Very outdated, needs painted outside, all the tables nightstands are scuffed up, there is no AC, there's absolutely no decor or pictures, The mattress was uncomfortable very firm.. It was a nice place back in 1988.

The ocean view was breathe taking. Immediate ocean access was amazing. The cons: no lounge; NO AC; security was lacking (anyone could gain access to the floors from the parking garage); not enough outlets; had to unplug the lamp to turn it off (switch didn’t work).

So we enjoyed our stay but it was a little strange - the first floor restaurant is completely shuttered and the building is pretty dated. Front desk staff were not super friendly and it wasn’t clear if there was daily maid service (a sign said there wasn’t but there was a tip envelope in the room). We hung up the do not disturb sign and didn’t worry about it. The big windows with ocean views wete amazing and the beach access (a 90 step staircase!) was awesome.

The best front desk clerks ever, especially Shelly, the room was super clean. We love this place and stuff. We felt like home.

The staff were nice, and one couldn't beat the beautiful ocean view. The rooms and facility need updating, as it looks a little seedy. I think the rooms were clean enough, but they need painting and sprucing up. I understand that they probably took a huge hit during the pandemic and they haven't recovered. The elevator was very slow.

The staff was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond. The rooms are more spacious with an amazing view. Very clean, and the beds were comfortable. Set of long steps to get to the beach right behind the building. But if you need a ramp there is one a few blocks North. Close to Nye beach, with shops and restaurants. I will be going back!

What ruined the whole experience was a horrible blonde manager lady who cussed my husband out when our dog peed on a bush outside. She is a manager there and was saying she was going to come to our house and beat us up and calling us every swear insult in the book! absolutely terrible and will never ever return she is rude and crazy!!!!!! they advertise as a pet friendly hotel yet very clearly aren’t if a dog using the bathroom outside causes that foul terrible reaction! BEWARE EVIL BLONDE MANAGER LADY WHO THREATENS CUSTOMERS Rooms outdated, shower not clean, smells funky, windows foggy. restaurant and pool gone.

We have always stayed here and majority of the time, we had a good experience. The property is a little dated and could use some remodeling. But it’s right on the beach, very easy access with lots of stores and restaurants nearby. This time, we had the longest check-in due to pipe being broken with no hot shower. The receptionist seemed to be new at his job and was constantly on the phone calling the supervisor and the hotel’s owner. He had to downgrade our room (still beachfront) but on the first floor with different building. The room was old and not as nice. I didn’t get any discount as promised. No big deal. We only stayed one night, and it was fine. We will consider staying here again due to the location, price, and beach access. And it’s pet friendly!

When I got to the hotel my keys didn't work and I didn't want to have to lug everything back down to my car or to the front desk so I called and they sent someone up with a fresh set of key cards within 2-3 minites. Your car will scrap going in and out of the parking garage if you're in D building. I ended up parking on the street, which was fine, it's a safe area. I love the close proximity to Nye beach for shopping and eating, you could walk there. If you want an extra long walk, you could walk to the bay front for more shops and dining and pass by Yaquina Bay Lighthouse. My friend and I enjoyed our girls weekend with ocean view. We watched the sunset out the large window in our room from the top level. The beds were comfortable. The room is a little dated but clean. They have the old baseboard heating but the room had fans in the closet. You could also open the window (safe if you have kids, the window itself was huge but the actual parts that opened, no human could fit through it).

Staff could have cared less if we were there. Sort of inconvenienced them to check us in or out The facility was in awful condition with no maintenance for quite awhile. I would strongly recommend to anyone not to stay there

When we arrived. The door was a jar and the window was left cracked open and it was raining out when we tried to take a shower. There was no hot water called front desk and they said to let it run for 15 minutes and call him back after 15 minutes I called back, they said they sent somebody up to adjust the thermostat. Still no hot water after 15 minutes. Try again in the morning still no hot water in the shower no continental breakfast restaurant and Café were both closed ,short on staff so no daily housekeeping in room. We won’t return $25 per pet fee

Excellent location, walkable to all the shops and restaurants at Nye Beach. Property was clean and quiet. Great view! Property itself could use some updating.

It’s just a hotel. Nothing special. Everything’s fine. Great location within walking distance of restaurants and bars. Great views and access to beach. If the price is right, grab it. Otherwise, I’m sure there are other places with more charm.

Great spot right on the beach. Access to beach was super easy, think it was like 90 steps down. There was a resting beach in the middle for those who need a break. It really was no problem though. Room was clean and quiet

Don’t let them fool you like they did me! They DO NOT have an open pool and have no idea when it’s going to be open again. They DO NOT have a cafe or offer breakfast of any kind. The hotel itself is in poor condition and could use a good remodeling. However, the staff was kind, apologetic, and helpful. The rooms and linens were clean but one of my windows had a broken lock and the curtains wouldn’t shut all the way. I am grateful we were on the third floor so I didn’t have to worry about someone breaking or peeping in.
