The hotel lobby had an immediate odor of overuse of deodorizer or perfume coming from the vents. The bathroom soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotions were strongly overscented. As a result, we did not use any of them. I had requested the full size bed be pulled out and made when we arrived. It was not. The mattress was very lumpy. We did not attend happy hour because of the odor and subsequently, we had an early, early checkout because the odor woke up my friend in the front room where the air conditioning unit was, and we did not have breakfast. Upon coming home, I went to urgent care because I had a severe headache and received a steroid shot in my hip muscle (not pleasant). I do not blame the staff for any of this. I think this is something that high level management and corporate is responsible for. Policy, procedure and instruction comes from the top and rolls down to the bottom. I chose your hotel for the convenience of Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and closeness to Wolf Trap for a national symphony concert. Maybe location, location, location is not always the best way to go.

The room we were given #203 was supposed to be a studio suite. The bathroom toilet had very bad plumbing and a sewage smell kept coming out of the toilet.
