This is lovely property in a very special location surrounded by trees and wildlife with a gorgeous garden. In the evening there is a bar in the garden which is delightful. Dogs seemed most welcome and we will be back to take our dog there for sure.....

If your wanting Wi-Fi, goto another Hotel as this one doesnt have Wi-Fi coverage across the hotel unless your directly above reception. The Smart TV's aren't smart as theres no connection, the bathroom was dirty and had cobwebs in the shower, The window ledge had a layer of black dust across it. This is the 2nd time staying in this hotel with a FULL years gap between an sadly nothing has changed there at all.

The Hotel is very comfortable, and in a great location. Walks just outside, short walk to Brockenhurst village. Bikes available, good facilities for Dogs ( very Dog friendly) good Bar to relax in ( top Barman) The best thing about the Hotel is the Staff, all helpful and caring, nothing too much trouble.

Overall, an excellent experience. Have downgraded the Facilities rating as the lift was out of order during our stay - not an issue for us but could have been for other guests.

This is our second stay here - from the minute you walk in there is a warm welcome. The staff are very friendly and can’t do enough for you, even spoiling your four legged friends if you have one. Food is great for both breakfast and dinner. Rooms are comfortable and have everything you need, even a radio and Dyson hairdryer. Outside they can provide wellies and bicycles. Easy to walk into the forest and Brockenhurst. Can’t recommend this hotel enough, we will be back and it’s especially lovely in December when decorated for Christmas.

The Hotel has a great location in Brockenhurst with easy access to the New Forest. Ideal for dog walking. Good facilities and very comfortable room. Good food. The staff were outstanding - really helpful, knowledgable and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay. This is an older style property which has been refurbished and has very thick walls. As a result WiFi was erratic upstairs and could do with boosters. Heating throughout a bit over-efficient 9i.e. too hot!) for a warm October spell, but easily fixed.

This is a beautiful old historic building. Staff are very courteous and prompt. The grounds around the inn are spectacular. I was a bit surprised there was no AC but fortunately it was not a warm night so we were very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay

Booked for a birthday celebration getaway based on website and reviews. Booked restaurant it was closed and we were not told, we had to eat in the cramped bar, of the hotel, standard pub grub for my birthday meal which was not great and certainly not food created by chefs from fresh ingredients on the day. Bathroom was not cleaned day 2 (floor dirty, slip mats in bath not taken up and bath cleaned, mirror behind washbasin and washbasin itself dirty,) had to complain to manager who after I insisted he came to our room agreed to get something done about it after he had told me that they only do a "deep clean" for arriving guests. You have to book a breakfast slot, to help the kitchen to freshly prepare food. both days the food was overcooked and had obviously been pre cooked and left under heat lamps and some of it was inedible, the promised local free range eggs had very light yellow yolks draw your own conclusion. The room and bathroom were spacious with good views over the garden to the forest. Overall, the website overstated what was available and the standard of food and room servicing left a lot to be desired. Water was supplied in the room, but not after the first day (confirmed by manager). When we stayed the day time temperature was 10 degrees, the hotel controls the heating which was not turned on until 6pm. A poor experience overall.

Upon arriving learned that most of the better rooms were given away to a wedding party, so while overall the room was okay, it was boiling hot because of overheating. I had to eventually request for a fan in the room. The cleaning was average at best. I could see black muck in the toilet, upon wiping it with a disinfectant wipe it actually came off. The next day the glasses were kept the same way with the cover on only to find out they hadn’t been replaced as my medicine could still be seen in the bottom of the glass. We had booked the double occupancy large king room with breakfast. Upon checking out was told that we had to pay for the breakfast. Here I think Hotels.com has failed. Overall, the location is great surrounded by a lot of nature. The property has character but is in need of serious upkeep and renovation, even though the rates were not cheap.

We had a lovely three night stay at Forest Park. The hotel is beautiful with lovely log fires. Our room (202) was immaculate. Would suggest though that a hook on the back of the bathroom door for a dressing gown would help. Also a fold up luggage rack maybe so that you dont't have to put your suitcase on the bed? And lastly a larger table by the lounge chairs that you could actually get a cup on! One night had a sandwich from room service but had to eat it sitting on the bed as there is nowhere to put a tray or plate. Overall the stay was five star with a lovely breakfast, super attentive staff and a very good dinner menu. Would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.

We stayed in room 109. It’s was a lovely big room and much nicer than expected, however, you could hear the music from the restaurant. It wasn’t loud, but quiet, constant bass. Funny thing is the music in the restaurant wasnt at all loud, it was just unfortunate the sounds travelled upwards. This wouldn’t put me off staying again.

Hotel was nice and location great but not sure value for the price. Room lacked amenities: fridge, curtains, usb sockets and air con. Staff were nice. Family and dog friendly hotel. Not sure I’d stay again though.

We stayed in a family room which was spacious with separate bedrooms and a big bathroom. Perfect so the adults could relax on their own. Delicious food, friendly staff. Very clean.Would definitely return and recommend.

Superb room for us as a family of four. Our toddler girls loved having their own little room, which was joined to ours via a small lounge area. Comfy beds, and a really tasty breakie. I'm recommending the hotel (and room, specifically), to all our friends visiting the New Forest or Peppa Pig world.

Great location in theory but there is a road that is noisy that runs along the front of the hotel. The windows are old sash windows. So not much sleep to be had. All the classic rooms are at the front, so I was informed when I checked in. The room I had was quite dowdy and in need of attention, so I was a little dissapointed given the charge of the room. The staff however were amazing. I did not like that we had to give a time slot for breakfast on arrival. I have not been to any hotel of that price and ever been asked to do that. I was informed that it was so the kitchen could cope. I would suggest more staff are needed if this is the case. This hotel certainly wasn't for me.

We booked the deluxe suite for one night. The room was lovely and larger than it looked in the photos. The bathroom was particulary great - luxurious bright and open. The bed was incredible and we both had the best nights sleep we have had in a while. However there were a few issues with our balcony door as it was a bit broken so hard to shut also during the day time the room got way too hot and we had to put two fans on to cool down. But by night fall this wasnt an issue. Overall the hotel was so beautiful, tranquil and clean. It is located right by the moors so that was perfect for our pre dinner walk. The roast dinner we had at the restaurant was nice but we were particulary impressed with the cheeseboard and wine selection. Would definetly reccomend and come again.

Amazing hotel with super friendly staff. We had one dinner at the hotel and the included breakfast which was delicious. The bar area is really comfortable and the bar staff were outstanding. The room was very comfortable with added details like luxury toiletries, board games, nespresso machine, Dyson hairdryer and Roberts radio. We will return.

We planned on staying for 1 night which turned into 3 nights as the hotel is absolutely fabulous. Amazing location, wonderfully appointed rooms (we had the best sleep - it is super quiet) and the kindest, friendliest welcoming staff you can imagine. Mandie gave us great tips for the area and everyone else was fantastic as well. Just the perfect ambiance. Amazing food too (the mussels were to die for). Now we just hope we can return to the hotel soon.

Mini break this is the second time staying at this hotel this year, we returned as our first stay was so good. Staff are helpful friendly and extremely polite in every area. The restaurant staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are happy. The only thing I would change would be more options on the menu as it is the same every night apart from Sunday which is Sunday Roast which I was disappointed in chose of gaming or chicken only beef was offered at a higher price which should have been the same price no lamb or pork offered. Vegetables every evening plus Sunday is Carrots plus broccoli spears on Sundays only which I found in edible as they were hard and undercooked. They do offer one fish dish or a vegetarian option but could definitely improve on menu choices and add some green vegetables.

On the whole we enjoyed our stay in this lovely old hotel in a beautifully appointed room The staff were extremely pleasant and eager to please.(especially the Venezualan barman, receptionist,and spanish waitress) however the meal on our last night in the restaurant was spoiled by a 25 minute wait for our pudding. Obviously not enough staff either in the dining room or kitchen - not their fault ,.

Jamie is excellent in front of house Sergio works hard in the bar & his banter makes for a jovial relaxed atmosphere. Special thanks to him for recommending a tasty wine. I loved the fabrics & furnishings in my bedroom & I valued the choice of books to read. A much appreciated nice addition. Staff are brilliant & the environment is warm & friendly.

Great location in theory but there is a road that is noisy that runs along the front of the hotel. The windows are old sash windows. So not much sleep to be had. All the classic rooms are at the front, so I was informed when I checked in. The room I had was quite dowdy and in need of attention, so I was a little dissapointed given the charge of the room. The staff however were amazing. I did not like that we had to give a time slot for breakfast on arrival. I have not been to any hotel of that price and ever been asked to do that. I was informed that it was so the kitchen could cope. I would suggest more staff are needed if this is the case. This hotel certainly wasn't for me.

Staff were very friendly and always helpful. The service was excellent and the menu was great. We had a room problem which was quickly remedied by apologetic staff whose only concern was that we enjoyed our stay. We love this hotel and look forward to staying here again in the near future.

Our stay was fantastic. The room was lovely and spacious and spotlessly clean. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, but the best part of our whole experience was the staff, who were all absolutely brilliant. They really made us feel so welcome. Faultless

Beautiful property. Very well maintained and looked after. It’s right on the doorstep on The New Forest too, which is great if you’re looking to explore. Loved the horses, donkeys and cows roaming around the local area too. Would absolutely recommend this hotel & will definitely return in future.

Lovely hotel. Room was nice and clean. Took a good 20 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. Restaurant food was ok, nothing special. Not ideal to walk around in the evening as street lights were limited. Apparently it’s bang right in the middle of the national park. My friend found a member of staff bit patronising as not everyone is aware of this. If we knew we wouldn’t be enquiring. So it’s the ideal location for exploring. Would be nice if there was seating areas by reception, just so we could plant ourselves down for 5 mins rest. I had to take a business call and sat at a table just by reception and was told l couldn’t sit there, even though the restaurant was empty! Lovely chef we chatted to. At least someone was friendly.

The suite was lovely, homely and spacious. The staff were very welcoming and can’t do enough for you. Food at the hotel is a 10 out of 10. Location wise the hotel is ideally situated, you cross the road and are in the forest, Brockenhurst shops and pubs are also only 10 minutes walk away.

Great hotel in a lovely location, well maintained with beautiful grounds. The room was nicely appointed, quiet with a comfortable bed for an uninterrupted nights sleep. Breakfast was good with a choice of options. The staff were all friendly and attentive. We will be back in the Autumn for another stay!

The staff really go out of the way to make you feel welcome at this hotel. We’ve had several short stays here and have introduced it to other family members. The restaurant is good and the location is perfect for exploring the area. Parking at the hotel is super easy which is the so unusual these days. We will definitely be back again.

The room was nice and comfy with a lovely view of the garden. The location was great too. There were nice extra touches like chocolate left in our room too. The bar man was really friendly and let my husband try a few beers first which was nice. Unfortunately there were a few negatives. The coffee cups in our room were dirty but what really let it down was the breakfast. Very small selection of pastries. Precooked hot breakfast items were "help yourself" buffet style so the hash browns were soggy. I've had better breakfasts at a Travelodge. For the price I'd really expect it to be cooked to order and for there to be a bit more choice. Muffins, pancakes, poached eggs on toast, porridge and similar were all sadly absent. We wouldn't stay again unless the breakfast was improved significantly!

Booked for a birthday celebration getaway based on website and reviews. Booked restaurant it was closed and we were not told, we had to eat in the cramped bar, of the hotel, standard pub grub for my birthday meal which was not great and certainly not food created by chefs from fresh ingredients on the day. Bathroom was not cleaned day 2 (floor dirty, slip mats in bath not taken up and bath cleaned, mirror behind washbasin and washbasin itself dirty,) had to complain to manager who after I insisted he came to our room agreed to get something done about it after he had told me that they only do a "deep clean" for arriving guests. You have to book a breakfast slot, to help the kitchen to freshly prepare food. both days the food was overcooked and had obviously been pre cooked and left under heat lamps and some of it was inedible, the promised local free range eggs had very light yellow yolks draw your own conclusion. The room and bathroom were spacious with good views over the garden to the forest. Overall, the website overstated what was available and the standard of food and room servicing left a lot to be desired. Water was supplied in the room, but not after the first day (confirmed by manager). When we stayed the day time temperature was 10 degrees, the hotel controls the heating which was not turned on until 6pm. A poor experience overall.

The setting, the service and the food are simply world class. The decor is decent but the building is very old which adds to the quaintness but takes away from the functionality at times. But not to spoil an overall brilliant experience as the staff couldn’t be better and you won’t find a better roast dinner in the UK it is outstanding quality of the highest order. The setting which IMO should be a world heritage site is other worldly with beautiful horses donkey and deer roaming wild and at peace with man. Everyone should visit the new forest and why not the forest park hotel for an authentic experience.

We really enjoyed our stay. The bar staff were excellent, really know their cocktails and gins. Had a delicious afternoon tea with gin tasting. All absolutely beautiful. Hotel is very comfortable and location great. Room was spacious although just a classic.

Stunning room. View of garden was great. There was a wedding event the following night so the hotel was closed to the public the following day. The restaurant was quiet that night but good food was served. We were very happy with the site and surroundings. We didn't have breakfast but were genuinely happy with the stay. Staff were very busy given the impending event but we felt we were looked after.

There are old reviews on YouTube that show the hotel before the new owners took over, and the refurbishment that has clearly improved the quality of the hotel.
