Best Western Plus Angel Hotel

Overall it was very good. The only disappointment was having to pay £7.50 extra to park for the night!

Great hotel in the centre of the town. Lots of parking Very clean, big bed and room. Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. Lovely bar and good choice of food for Breakfast Swimming pool and gym looked lovely, but we didn't use them Would definitely stay here again and try other Best Western hotels now, such good value and lovely staff

Lovely hotel in itself, right in the centre of town, the only real downside was that a wedding function was on at the hotel and so as general hotel guests we couldn't get to the bar, would have been nice to have been pre warned about this as we probably would have changed the date of our booking

We liked the pool and gym and the location in the centre of town. The lounge was nice but food and drink was expensive.

Stayed for 2 nights room not cleaned no fresh towels tea/coffee satchels not replaced. Hotel had no atmosphere. It was hard to tell who were staff as they had no unique uniform. We didn’t eat or drink in the hotel as there are some excellent pubs and restaurants around the town. I found this hotel to be expensive for what they offer and watch out for the nightly car parking charge.

Lovely hotel, staff, room, bar, pool. Would certainly stay again. If i had to find something to improve it would be to have more recycling facilities and conditioner in bathroom.

Good hotel, very clean, nice staff, good breakfast. Gym could be improved as there are no free weights, kettlebells etc.

Great location. Shops and restaurants on the doorstep. The hotel has a very relaxed feel with a cosy lounge area to kick back with a wine or coffee. Great staff, friendly and helpful. The pool and the gym are great extras. The rooms do not have AC, but we had a room fan which helped. My only criticism would be there was nowhere to put our clothes, as no chest of drawers, only a small wardrobe.

Most rooms are in the relatively new extension which doesn't have an elevator! Included breakfast is excellent.

As a 3 star hotel the roomswere not clean towel were changed after 3 days the food menu was very sparse meals over priced Noise frlm the lift. I would think twice before staying again. Nice litte town but lots of coffee shops and and second hand shops

I was disappointed that the hotel charged for parking your car in their car park. For me no hotel should charge their guests a fee for parking. Also when I got a drink of coke from the bar it was served from a plastic coke bottle. The drink was flat. Although the rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean I found the hotel to be soulless and very matter of fact.

The woman at check in was absolutely wonderful! The room was not. The mattress was horrible. The sheets were stained. The bathroom door lock had been changed but not finished. The shower curtain was moldy. The shower was moldy. Just not good.

I thought the room size, bed and showers were excellent. However, buffet breakfast of a poor standard and with room not being cleaned, change of bath towels and had to remake my bed every morning unless requested I was very disappointed and wouldn't recommend anyone to stay.

The hotel is OK as long as you get the right room. There are a few rooms that have a plumbing issue with sewer smells and room 108 is next to some sort of generator that intermittently comes on and off next to the headboard. Not very noisy but noticeable and not constant so does interrupt your quality of sleep. Staff are lovely and friendly, the breakfast is ok, nothing special but is ok. Hotel itself is clean but a little frayed around the edges. 3rd time I’ve stayed. 2 rooms good, 1 room not good. Colleagues had the sewer smells in their rooms.

Very clean. Room was quite hot but had small partially open windows and a fan. Ordered room service. Fish and chips was freshly cooked and delicious. Roasted vegetable side dish was bland - aubergines and peppers mainly. Generous portion sizes. Breakfast buffet was great. Particularly liked the coffee machine with lots of options.

The upstairs was so dark that it was difficult to open the bedroom door. The bed was very hard. At 6am the bin men and other workmen ensured you were awake. the parking charge each day was £7.50 I wouldn't stay there again

Very good size room comfy bed and clean. Room was next to the door into the main corridor so lots of door bangs at night and morning. Otherwise good.

Very expensive - stay for a very basic room - 2 divan beds pushed togeather not fastened so middle opened up, no water in the room! No fridge. One out of date biscuit, toilet that didn’t flush properly and was constantly leaking. Empty hand soap. Given the price I’d expect the basics.

Perfect location. Lovely modern room on top floor in the new building. Half the property seems to be the original coaching inn and half a new build with the pool. No negative points but easy wins would be no shower gel in room, only shampoo/conditioner, robes and slippers to go down to the pool in would be a treat.

We came to Chippenham for a long weekend as we love Wiltshire. I have to begin by saying the staff we lovely and helpful. The down side was the first room we had smelt of dog. We were moved to another room but were told that dogs are welcome in all rooms downstairs. We didn’t know that before booking We also found that there was no hot water in our room in the evening, we were advised at the reception to run the hot water for 10 to 15 minutes to make sure hot water came through. That worked but a little later we had to run it again for another 10 or 15 minutes. The outside of the building is not well lit and my wife went out to car and on her way back in tripped up on the first step, which as i said was not well lit. When i got outside the where my wife was sitting she had a nurse, who was using the swimming pool and was just leaving the hotel when she found my wife. My wife was in a state of shock and had a swelling on her nose where she hit the other step with her nose. We had to go to the minor injuries unit and was advised to go to our local hospital to check to see if her nose is broken or not. I would love to thank the nurse for her care and attention to my wife. The duty manager was also considerate in many ways. Would we visit there again? No i don’t think so!

Our stay was lovely even though it was only one evening, my granddaughter loved her swim before bed. you very kindly opened breakfast early for guests to leave for Badminton, it was very much appreciated by us. I would use yourself again. Thank you Lyn

Ordered bubbles in my room as us surprise but had to collect and carry it with my luggage and I am disabledwhich made it very difficult, no offer of help from staff. The bar didn't even have lemonade to offer.

Very noisy from other residents, very noisy for people leaving the car park. Blind on the only window was torn and jammed meaning the light came in at 0530hrs. No shower gel in the bathroom and reception couldn't care using the excuse "we were very busy last night" even after charging me £131.

Good location for visiting the area including Bath where parking is extremely limited and driving is not fun! Get there from Chippenham by train in just 10 minutes! Perfect!

Staff were polite. The toilet was very difficult to flush. There was a constant noise of a boiler or something behind the wall coming on throughout the night. Breakfast Friday was good. On Saturday there seemed to be a shortage of items for the breakfast. The pool was nice. Location was good.

We had a lovely weekend stay at the Angel Inn in Chippenham. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, making us feel welcomed. The room we booked was large and airy with a large king-size bed, a settee and a large bathroom. However, everything in the room was tired. One of the trims on the old wardrobe was coming off leaving sharp pins exposed. The settee was hard and uncomfortable as was the bed which was very firm. When it rained water came in through one of the three sash windows, we reported this to reception on leaving. It had not rained until our last night. The bathroom walls were showing water runs on every painted surface, which were easy to spot when using the bath! We were staying in the oldest part of the hotel so perhaps we were unlucky with the choice of room? The food we had was delicious, well presented and there was plenty of choice. We would stay in the hotel again as we really enjoyed the atmosphere, the facilities are well used by local people.

Beds were comfortable. A wake was taking place in the dining area so we were offered a soulless function room to eat dinner, which we refused and went out to eat. Breakfast was good.
