Lovely hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff. The restaurant and options on the menu are great. The spa looked excellent - highly recommend booking in advance as I forgot to and it was fully booked on a bank holiday weekend.

Delightful few days away, beautiful hotel with everything we needed. Breakfast was great, a wide range of choices. Great location to go out on walks and find nearby pubs. Only downside is there’s nothing to say the spa isn’t included in the price, and the spa doesn’t have a swimming pool. Otherwise it’s very nice!

This is not a hotel spa! Its a hotel with a separate spa which you have to pay extra for, which was not advertised on this site anywhere!! When I questioned this was told we had to pay £15 per hour per person to use a sauna and hot tub!! The bathroom ceiling was peeling off in huge areas, the bed was so noisy everytime you moved at all it squeaked like mad! At 7.15am we were woken to the glass bins being emptied and laundry cages being collected from outside our bedroom, people shouting and zero consideration for guests. No air conditioning and windows restricted so very hot noisy night's sleep. This hotel was over priced, tired and a huge disappointment. Dont book if youre looking for a spa and relaxing stay. Plenty of other better options available. My concerns and complaints about the charges for spa were completely ignored by spa and hotel staff, simply were not interested.

The place is nice, but needed a few repairs in our room. The staff are happy and friendly, We did book the hotel as it had bit of a spa attached to it. Its the first one i have been to that charges an hourly rate to use even when staying in the hotel, i was even more surprised after spending over £200 on treatments we couldnt use the facilities without paying extra, Its these small things that people remember. Wouldnt use again. Back to the Hotel, the food was very good the breakfast tasted very fresh and you could adapted the options to suit. We also had food one evening in the bar which again was very good, Unfortunately we stayed when the place had xmas parties on so our neighbours both nights came back in late and very loud. But you cant hear the party downstairs. Overall its an alright place, but alot better out there for the simular price.

Over all the hotel was lovely and staff were really friendly. It was very warm and stuffy inside, despite it being breezy outside. The tv in my room didn’t work and they don’t turn the espresso machine on until 10am, so couldn’t get an espresso coffee at breakfast before leaving for the day. Would have loved to use the spa but it closed up early on a Sunday unfortunately.

We had a fantastic time at Stratton House. The location was perfect for exploring the Cotswolds and there are lots of things to see and do around Cirencester. Our room was very spacious and had a lovely traditional English feel. There was plenty of parking and the hotel bar was terrific. Jack, one of the barmen, was very attentive and friendly and really couldn’t have done a better job. The bar menu was great and we particularly enjoyed the local gin and beer options. We ate some beautiful meals there also - the leek and potato soup was the best I’ve ever eaten!

Room was excellent with a very comfortable bed! Bathroom was nice and clean. View of the garden was really nice. Parking plentiful. Only pain point were the two flights of stairs with luggage.

Lovely hotel but our room was tired, carpets stained walls covered with tea and coffee stains and although bedding was clean the pillows were stained. The garden view was nice. The staff were very friendly.

Very comfortable stay. Cleanliness of room was excellent and lovely big bed with wonderfully white sheets, pillows and duvet cover. Only a stone's throw from Cirencester centre with a nice pub next door for alternative dining options.

Room 39 nice, view of trees and carpark, very comfortable and quiet. Enjoy free parking. Windows in the Restaurant were filthy, shows up when very sunny. Otherwise hotel very clean. Breakfast was ok, plenty of choice - had an Agency Chef (info via Reception) not good at taking our/other Patrons breakfast requests. Reception very helpful. Would recommend local Indian Restaurant Rasoi for dinner.

I booked 3 nights to stay with a friend, looking forward to a spa day and enjoying restaurants in Cirencester. The hotel has character and lovely garden. It has the potential to offer a top service but cleanliness let it down. The beds did not have a bed skirt so although the bedding was clean the first think you see are the stains and marks on the base. The room was huge and the bathroom appeared modern and recently upgraded however the back of the bathroom door was filthy as was the edge of the shower screen. When eating lunch in the restaurant we were unsure if the water jug was clean!

It was a really nice place to stay. Also has a Spa attached to it if you wanted to have a pamper. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The only thing i wish it had was air conditioning in the rooms as it can get quite hot at night. Would definately go again and recomment it. Food was also fantastic although i only had breakfast there.

The room was clean and comfortable enough but very basic, not sure if there was a faulty fire alarm but it went off at 10pm and 5am which ruined any chance of a relaxing sleep, so would not stay here again. When asked at checkout if the stay was okay I mentioned about the fire alarms and they brushed it off. Additionally we struggled to get a parking space at the hotel.

The hotel went out of their way to place us in a superb room with king sized bed and walk in shower as per our request. The room itself was lovely, very spacious and well equipped, except we had no towels! They soon appeared once we noted that at reception. Our only downside was the noise from the floorboards of the room above us. Every time the people in the room moved there was a lot of creaking of the floorboards. It was okay for a one night stay but we woukd have asked to move if it had been another night. Such a shame as all the staff were lovely.

Excellent stay in a very nice hotel. Lovely old building, great staff and very convenient for Cirencester and visiting other spots in the cotswolds. Lovely breakfast, great bar staff, great parking and the spa facilities were very nice considering its size. Rooms are a little small but overall a charming and beautiful spot. I would definitely visit again.

Floorboards noisy in rooms and corridors. Noise from other rooms affected sleep. Did not see any lifts so hand carried heavy cases to our room up two flights of steep narrow stairs

Didn't like that we couldn't control temperature in our room. We also couldn't open the window all the way to cool down the room at least at night. It was too warm with not enough air circulation. Property is lovely and breakfast rooms are well appointed. Breakfast was good and beds were comfortable.

It was an incredible stay from start to finish. I had arranged an overnight trip as a gift for my mum for Mother’s Day. When we arrived we were greeted with friendly staff at reception who advised that we had a complimentary upgrade. The room was more than we expected and we are so grateful. Staff in reception and the bar were very helpful throughout. I would highly recommend staying here, such a perfect location and not far from the centre of Cirencester.

The staff at Stratton House could not be faulted, they were friendly, accommodating and the service was excellent. We had a dinner for 18 on one night in the Stratton suite to celebrate our charity day of wingwalking at a nearby airfield, (Charla was very pleasant in the arrangements for this) and bar snacks outside on the terrace for 8 on another night. The breakfast were extremely filling, although an omelette option for eggs was not available. Our room was lovely and we enjoyed it thoroughly. One pair of friends, however, had a difficult night as the bed was not at all comfortable for them. We would definitely stay again.

This is a really wonderful hotel. From the moment we stepped through the front door, there was such a lovely warm welcoming friendly feel to the place. The staff were all wonderful, too many to mention by name, but every one of them being extremely professional, helpful and friendly. Emma, on reception, really made this place as she was friendly, bubbly, always happy and smiling and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in room 11, which was a feature room overlooking the garden and this was an extremely spacious room, beautifully decorated. We will definitely be returning to Stratton house Hotel & Spa.

Room and hotel lovely. Staff all helpful except: we were in room 34 for 2 days, from Sunday 9th Nov 3pm to Tuesday 11th Nov 11am. At 2pm on Monday 10th November, we were relaxing on our beds when a maintenance man entered with his key (he did not knock the door) and shocked us by saying he was checking some painting that needed touching up. We were very shocked and when he realised we were 8n the room he apologised and left. We took this up with the blonde lady on reception who apologised and said maybe it was an error on their side, but she didnt know for definite and said they do need to carry out repairs sometimes. Surely thus shoukd be dobe within the 4 hour tirnaround from check out to new guesr check in? Also, she said we should have put the 'do not disturb ' sign on the outside, but again that is putting the blame on us. We felt it was a violation of our privacy and no real explanation or compensation offered.

Staff were really lovely and helpful. Partner has a dairy allergy, dining staff and chef catered and adapted the menu to suit. Spa was excellent again staff were lovely. Our room was a little tired round the window, and bed could do with new mattress abit lumpy. but over all beautiful place and with well maintained gardens. Would definitely go back

Stay at hotel great. Brilliant with dogs! Reception and staff generally extremely helpful. Sadly cannot say same for Hotels.com. Booked room with note I had two dogs. Contacted some time later bye Hotels.com to say I couldn't have dogs in that room and they apparently couldn't get Stratton House to agree to move me to a dog friendly room. ie I had to lose my deposit. Called Stratton House directly myself and they moved me with no issue at all and didn't charge me to move rooms. Would visit Stratton House again but never use Hotels. com again!

Lovely spot just outside Cirencester. Comfortable. Nice restaurant. My only complaint was the £15pp continental breakfast. A little cheese, hard boiled eggs and / or cold meat would go a long way to improve the meal. Some protein. Hot meals are extra.

Beautiful hotel, but my only complaint was tho food. I ordered the vegan burger and it was terrible. The burger itself was dry and didn’t have a nice taste to it. There was a soggy green leaf of some kind underneath it and a few sliced of gherkin on top. There should have been a tomato, but I asked them not to put that on. It was just a bland dry vegetable burger and a few chips. There wasn’t any salad or relish on the side and It cost £16 which I found very expensive for the cheap ingredients that were used. Charging £16 they could have put more thought into what a vegan burger should be like. There are so many lovely ingredients out there. But they chose cheap and not very nice, then charged a fortune.I couldn’t eat it. I mentioned it to the lady who collected my plate and was told that there was nothing that could be done as I’d already paid for it. Appears they don’t refund. Very very disappointing as everyone else’s food looked ok. Wish I’d taken a photo to show you how bad it was. I won’t be visiting again.

Lovely comfortable room with bath en suite. Evening meal was delicious and service was very good. Staff were very helpful when we were joined by our daughter's family for breakfast. Have been several times and will be staying there again.
