A beautiful historic building that’s kept its authenticity. Many hotels like this usually undergo a renovation and paint everything 50 shades. This building creaks, has squeaky floorboards which adds to its character. The walls are paper thin however and you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on next door. The shower was unpredictable but it’s what I would expect for a room with such a good rate. Don’t expect luxurious rooms and the grounds are manicured. A typical wedding venue. I’d be happy to return. Also big easy car park.

Always a warm welcome at Astley Bank. Large, clean Executive Rooms. Great bar & restaurant. Beautiful grounds. Excellent WiFi. TV is a little annoying as it's web based & a little tricky to navigate but apart from that its amazing.

Stayed for two nights. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. I had an Executive Double which was spacious with a comfortable bed. En suite was nice although took ages to get hot water and even then it wasn’t that hot. But overall we had a good stay and would definitely book again. Be aware the road up to the hotel has many large pot holes but this road isn’t owned by the hotel so nothing they can do about it. The road they own is well maintained

Unfortunately this lovely hotel is very tired looking and in need of modernisation. The evening meal we had was excellent. The breakfast was luke warm. As for cleanliness our room especially the bathroom hasn't been clean properly with dust in and around the radiators and floor. The staff are lovely and will do anything for you.

Stayed 4 nights bed very comfy, staff really friendly, could have been a touch cleaner ( attention to detail) dust on kettle unit, old radiator in bathroom dust in-between vanes. Old property with no lift but would stay again no problem, grounds amazing.

A comfortable room on the top floor, remained quiet even though a wedding party was taking place on the ground floor. Only mugs were provided in the room and no glasses in the bathroom. Also some dust on the doors and window ledge. Very nice gardens and surroundings.

Stunning hotel, guests kept me awake all night being loud and drinking till late but this was due to an event (wedding). Beautiful surroundings and room, cleanliness could be better but overall comfortable, nice stay.

Called to see if they could accommodate me a couple of hours earlier so I could leave my bags in the room. They informed me that would cost £20, so I declined. Bad first impression. I booked an ‘executive room’ as it listed that it had a king size bed in it. Room 34 that I was allocated did not. They moved me to Room 35 that does. Room 34 stinks of mould too and the bed had a ripped sheet on it! There is evidence of a leak in the ceiling and I don’t think they’ve dealt with the consequences of the leak or tried to improve things. In room 35 there was black mould on the shower head spouts, black and brown mould around the taps and there is a very unhygienic carpet around the shower and bath. It needs a deep clean! The shower is poor, the pressure is weak and took 5 minutes to get to temperature. Not unusual for an old property but still not a great user experience. Great big towels are a plus. Nice high ceilings. Windows that open. No breakfast menu in the room, which meant we decided to go elsewhere as I can’t eat dairy or eggs. I went down to take a look at the breakfast offering and the food wasn’t too appealing. I won’t return.

Lovely character property. Had a good tv, all amenities you’d want and need. The room was quite small and so was the bed, and the bed was quite hard. We didn’t sleep that well due to the bed, but it was all clean everywhere.

Overnight stay as we were visiting family nearby. Room was quite small but clean. Small bottles of shower gell etc rather than larger bottles in dipensers, simlar for the jam at breakfast. Would help with plastic waste. Staff were lovely and very helpful especially those serving at beakfast.

This hotel is a real gem positioned in lovely grounds and gardens. Every member of staff we met were very engaging and friendly and they all contributed to ensuring we had a brilliant stay, a special mention to Lisa on reception very knowledgeable, efficient and welcoming.

Have stayed here before and as usual it was a really enjoyable stay. Room was fine with excellent shower. Breakfast was very nice as well. Staff were great from really lovely receptionists to housekeeping. The man on night shift was brilliant even though we kept him busy in the lounge area. All in all I highly recommend this Hotel.

Sadly i was informed that there was a wedding which wouldnt have been a problem but for the fact we couldn't eat or drink at the bar. There was a promise of a dessert which i needed to call down to reception to prompt after waiting an hour and a half for it. The shower fixture didn't hold the shower head either
