Reserve, by Warner Hotels - The Runnymede on Thames

Really enjoyed our stay. We went to the spa when we arrived. It was busy mid afternoon, but facilities were good. Bedroom was comfortable and clean, and we had a good night's sleep. Didn't notice any noise despite the motorway and airport being very close. Breakfast was excellent with options for everyone.

Despite a lot of building work, as it is transitioning and expanding, staff kept us up to date with all that was happening. Disturbance was minimal. We enjoyed tennis courts, outside pool area, spa and the lounge experience. The restirant is best not commented on as is changing in a week to full table service and this was a buffet sercvice. Note that the hotel is under Heathrow flight path on some days and some might find that disturbing but we did not. Thank you for looking after us.

Easy check in, no problems, from 2pm which is very reasonable. I asked if late check out would be available, but was informed I would need to ask in the morning, that is a bit of an inconvenience if you are planning a long lay in. It would be helpful to know the day before. The lock on my door was not working, a member of staff had this fixed straight away. Room modern in decoration Good selection of different lighting in room and bathroom. Air conditioning which can be adjusted. Blackout curtains, fridge. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Good quality of towels, and robes in room,very thick. Monsoon and standard shower in one. Overall a very nice room, VERY clean Spa, also very clean. Key code lockers. Small Sauna and plunge pool within changing room. Main swimming pool and jacuzzi. Infared room and steam room. A fair amount of loungers and chairs around the pool, it was fairly busy on my visit at 4pm on a Saturday, but I managed to find a lounger Overall a really good first experience of this hotel. Would be even better if they offered room service, and if you were able to pay to use the spa facilities after check out

Great hotel, stayed on 19 July and was the hottest day of the year. The outdoor pool was great and felt like we were in another country. Room was good, hotel clean. Parking was a bit of a squeeze and the renovations around hotel did dampen things but we knew about this prior to staying - I would def stay here again

Efficient check in, we stayed overnight. Breakfast buffet -everything you could possibly want , hot food , continental, fresh fruit were all good. We used the spa which was lovely and the hotel is perfect location for walking along the Thames.

We stayed during the renovations, which didn't impact our stay at all, it was more just cosmetic which didn't affect us. The outdoor pool was lovely as was the indoor spa area. Our room was really nice, and we had a great dinner. The only reason why I wouldnt give this 5* is there was a lot of 'rules' about when you could use the facilities which kind of limited our stay and forced us to have a schedule rather than be a bit more chilled. For example everything HAS to be booked, and you can only use the facilities after you check in on your first day only. Which means you have from 2pm -8pm to experience the outdoor pool, spa etc...so if you have a boat trip booked on your first day or dinner booked for 6.30 you really limit your time to be able to experience the facilities, which is ultimately why you visit this hotel

Very smart and efficient. Food was a buffet but was really excellent in both its range and quality. Wine was reasonably priced. The Champaign ( A Robrt, Brut) at £9.00 a glass was really good. Spa facilities were excellent. Brilliant steam room, two saunas and a plunge pool ( in the changing rooms) Good sized pool

Stayed for 5 nights for rest and relaxation after spending a week in Central London. This hotel is exactly what I wanted and exceeded my expectations. The restaurants, lounge, breakfast service were fantastic. The spa and facilities were top notch.

Very enjoyable stay. Spa decent. All staff very nice. Very diverse workforce which was really good to see. Outside pool lovely. I only say average on property conditions as some of it looked a bit dated and the ceiling in our room was a bit rough. Overall good value for money and we will definitely return.

Wonderful stay at the Runnymede on the Thames. Check in was smooth and easy, with clear instructions on how to find our room. The lounge area as you entered had a sophistication about it and it felt like everyone staying there were here to enjoy themselves and this created a bustling laughter filled atmosphere. The bedroom was large and nicely decorated. Everything was spotless and the coffee maker made a decent change to the instant sachets. Bed was large and very comfortable and crisp white linen always looks good. The reservations team had made the effort to wish us a happy anniversary and that was a lovely touch. The garden area by the river is stunning, the surroundings are beautiful and I wished we could have gone for a riverside walk, if only we had more time. Deciding to have drinks in the lounge, the staff were extremely welcoming and very attentive. It felt like nothing would be too much trouble. Food in the bar was delicious, as were the drinks, although was surprised to find that they don’t do cocktails. After reading reviews already, I thought there was a free shuttle into Windsor, but when we asked we were told the best way to get there, would be by taxi, so I’m still unsure. Unfortunately we didn’t get to sample food in the restaurant, but we had such a great stay that we will be back in the not too distant future. Would highly recommend and thanks to the staff for such a fantastic stay.

Poor hotel. Staff uninterested and scruffy. Food and drinks left outside rooms and not cleared. Room average and in need of modernisation. Check in staff uninterested.

Even though they was renovating the hotel there was no interruption for us staying there. Hotel was cleanest I’ve stayed at staff was great and helpful any time we needed them room was great nice and roomy and well done in the renovation and was a very nice room. Would definitely stay there again without a doubt

For our 4 day trip, we got a very good rate of under 100 Pounds/night for bed & breakfirst (maybe because of some reconstruction in the hotel). The room was small, but nice and clean. We enjoyed being able to open the window for fresh air. Some hooks on the wall and more shelf space would be practical. Breakfast and the restaurant are very good. The people working in the hotel are very professional and friendly. We can absolutely recommend this hotel, even if you want to visit London City as trains go very often (walk to the train station 20 min). Beautiful hotel and a lovely stay despite ongoing construction works. We stayed on a Friday night and were mostly unaffected - some areas of the hotel were clearly ready to be updated but the facilities we used were brilliant. Our room was a river view and the balcony was not yet ready to be used. The room itself was a standard size but the cleanliness is what made it a great stay. We really appreciated the robes and slippers for using the onsite pool and spa. We absolutely loved the outdoor pool, it’s a shame we couldn’t use it past checkout time on our departure day as it had closed when we checked in on the Fri early evening. The breakfast is a higher price but we felt it was good value for money with what was available. We hope to visit again and make the most of the grounds and local area. Breakfast staff were the friendliest staff members we met during our stay.

Caveat this review with the fact that the hotel is currently undergoing substantial renovations. Arrived to find extremely busy reception and lounge area - I asked if they had an event which they said they didn't. There was no where to sit whilst awaiting check in to open in an hours time. Room looked a little worn with aging decoration (see photos). Powerful shower. Good air conditioning in the hot weather but a little noisy. Lovely position on the river - it's beautiful to sit outside in the sun and watch the boats sail past and use the nearby lock. Good quality and volume of breakfast. Outdoor pool also lovely.

Standard room is far too small

Decent hotel that of course is going through some transformation at the moment. The room is on the small side. I stayed here for work and there isn’t even a desk and chair to do work from so I had to work from the bed which was not great.

The building is being renovated. Scaffolding and machinery. The first room shown - the superior room - looked out onto a grey wall, therefore dark. Requested another room - a standard so smaller - but balcony looking over the river. The receptionist was very understanding and polite. Breakfast amazing.

Our room was a bit small and only a double rather than king bed but it well appointed and they made good use of the space. It had been freshly refurbished including a new balcony was perfect for relaxing with views of the river. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We were lucky with the weather so enjoyed the outdoor pool.

I was given a room near the renovation that is ongoing, which was a bit annoying given the noise. Other than that, the rooms were very nice and large with ample space.

Amazing place, went for my partners 21st birthday and the staff were amazing at helping me set everything up in the room, offered me an early check in.

The bedroom was large and nicely decorated. Everything was spotless and the coffee maker made a decent change to the instant sachets. Bed was large and very comfortable and crisp white linen always looks good. The reservations team had made the effort to wish us a happy anniversary and that was a lovely touch. The garden area by the river is stunning, the surroundings are beautiful and I wished we could have gone for a riverside walk, if only we had more time. Deciding to have drinks in the lounge, the staff were extremely welcoming and very attentive. It felt like nothing would be too much trouble. Food in the bar was delicious, as were the drinks, although was surprised to find that they don’t do cocktails. After reading reviews already, I thought there was a free shuttle into Windsor, but when we asked we were told the best way to get there, would be by taxi, so I’m still unsure. Unfortunately we didn’t get to sample food in the restaurant, but we had such a great stay that we will be back in the not too distant future. Would highly recommend and thanks to the staff for such a fantastic stay.

Excellent swift check-in. They had arranged a surprise complimentary room upgrade as it was my husband’s birthday and the room was just lovely. Happy birthday card & fresh cookie for him in our room. Delicious breakfasts. Staff were excellent - polite, efficient, went above and beyond. Had such a wonderful stay. The setting on the river and the outdoor pool were the icing on the (birthday) cake!

Very poor customer service in the restaurant. I was pointed at by a waitress when I asked for some help and she walked off. The checkin was a very embarrassing situation as my travelling guests arrived before me and weren’t allowed to checkin until they had paid for the rooms even though it was on a group booking in my name. I then had to spend 20 minutes to get the hotel to refund their cards and use the card that was used for the initial booking. On our second day, it took another 20 mins to locate the rooms we had booked. Checkin staff were rude and dismissive as if it was my fault. I won’t be returning.

I was given an unexpected upgrade to a fantastic room. Food was tasty and staff, friendly and helpful

I would rather comment about the lounge staff … they are not observant … I say trying to attract attention for over 5 minutes… need a fresh drink and food … so I pay an over priced solution for a sub standard service … it’s indicative as to why the world thinks we are rubbish

The hotel is being refurbished but this was well managed and communicated, had no issues with noise etc but the change to a Warner hotel is evident in standards of service. I had to complain at breakfast because after arriving to find no clean tables, I was treated very rudely by a staff member who shouted across the room at me, bringing attention to the fact I was travelling alone and was very grumpy at being asked to clear a table by the window for me (since the hotel’s USP is the amazing view of the river, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that guests want that view!) Two other couples arrived and had the same battle. It took three asks to get tea + cup + milk so I was very disappointed - the manager I spoke to did apologise and spoke to the staff member but a refund of breakfast would have been appreciated as the service was very disappointing. Spa was lovely and the members of staff in the lounge area were brilliant and even though they were training new people it was evident that they were being taught a high level of customer service. Reception was hit and miss - there was an issue where the hotels.com discount wasn’t communicated to the hotel but they handled this by refunding me the difference when I checked out. The lady I dealt with was not friendly or well trained to deal with issues and other staff members had to step in to help. Overall disappointing for somewhere with a reputation for high standards, the hotel itself is lovely and clean but the service lacking.

This place isn’t in central London but the surrounding area is beautiful. It’s right along the water and is great to go for a stroll and see the beautiful riverside properties. Also super close to Windsor. It’s only a $14 pound ride there with an Uber. I’d for sure stay here again. It’s also close to Heathrow which is nice if you have a a flight the next day! I’ll stay here again

Located by the river...whow!

Just love this hotel. Yes there was building work going on but it was managed well. Great food, good service and lovely new room. Enjoy the view of the river and walks either side. Excellent location for Heathrow too

Overall good,room temperature is difficult to manage as the controls are knobs rather than digital. I was disappointed by the quality of food in the dinner buffet the food was sub par so would probably avoid dinner there in future

This is lovely hotel in a beautiful location. However it is currently being renovated so please be aware of that. The location on the river is excellent and you can walk a long way on the footpath - very scenic. The hotel has a lovely bar area but unfortunately the restaurant is buffet style which does not appeal to me. The bar however does have a small food menu. The hotel has great leisure facilities I would definitely stay there again and am hoping once it is a Warner hotel it still remains as good

Food lovely. Great location. Just a few things could have been better. Lack of cocktails was surprising, as was the poor choice of just one very average lager on draught, and our room was very small and quite old fashioned. Also, the shower overflowed and flooded our bathroom (they sorted this quickly though). 8/10 all in all

Have stayed there many times. It is convenient. Can not believe that the latte coffee is now chargeable and not included in the price of the breakfast. Also we did not no this until we were asked to sign for it about 10 minutes after being served it!

Great spa and pool facilities with a clean room. I opted for dinner which includes a buffet. I felt the options could of been better as there was only one chicken dish and barely any hot vegetarian mains. The desserts were very good though.
