About the only hotel I have fixed on my list. As a regular traveller I am in towns and areas repeatedly. The pilgrim is where I always stay in Hereford. Excellent food, comfortable rooms, friendly staff good bar. What else is there?

The hotel was out from the city centre but was on a bus route to get into Hereford so we left the car in their free carpark and went shopping and watched the rugby. Lovely area and the views were fantastic from the hotel dining rooms. There was new menu starting yesterday and the choice of meals were very good. We had dinner - pork loin and a braised beef cheek, which were both excellent and a choice of a hot cooked breakfast or a cold buffet , both were really good. The room was a little dated but the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The drinks were reasonably priced and there was a good choice. Would definitely stay at the hotel again.

OK. Tries to be a good quality hotel but needs just a little more work to become excellent. Staff good and ample parking. No fridge in room, or other niceties like safe. Needs a refurb in a lot of areas, looks very dated, and room locks are old style US ones. Breakfast is expensive for what you get, very limited choice and hot food is served to you, not buffet style which I much perfer. Staff excellent, friendly and professional, food and drink extremely good, wonderful view out the back. Only slight problem was the carpet in the room, very thin and worn, but overall would thoroughly recommend this hotel 👍

I stayed for business not pleasure. I would book here again, the hotel is centrally located to where I regularly need to be. Room was basic but spotless. I’m pretty sure it was a brand divan bed and I slept decently. Food in the restaurant was tasty and I left full.

Friendly staff and great views. We had a meal in the restaurant which was really nice and good quality. A little tired in places but felt cosy and welcoming throughout Our room was the upgrade and had great views over the valley Only downside was the room wasn't that clean and hadn't been dusted for quite some time, just needs a good clean and keeping up with, maybe management need to check on standards

The hotel reviews certainly didn’t match our experience, the bathroom was mouldy and filthy dirty and smelt of stale urine, towels with holes in and broken sticky to touch dated furniture.

When we arrived the evening staff were great, friendly and efficient. Our evening meal was good British menu well cooked and presented. Our room was clean, not the most comfortable beds, but the real problem was lack of sleep. We were on the ground floor and there was no sound proofing, the person/people in room above were walking or moving stuff around until midnight and started again just after 4am. Their floorboards were creaking so loudly that after not being able to sleep until late, we were woken again in the early hours!! It seems t e hotel is used by travelling workers? In the morning I was going to have a polite word at check out but the elderly man and two women were in conversation and just handed us a copy of our receipt without asking if we’d had a good stay so we left. I really don’t know how this hotel gets 10/10 reviews???

We were greeted with a very friendly welcome - I normally travel a lot for work and haven't been greeted with such friendliness at any hotel on a long time - its normally very formal and regimented so this was refreshing. The entire hotel was really clean and had so much character. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. Breakfast was lovely too.

Lovely room but if you’re planning on staying, choose an upstairs room. We were in the Garden Suite on the ground floor and we were kept awake by the couple in the room above who kept walking back and forth constantly. This woke us up at 7am every morning. The breakfast certainly isn’t worth the £12.50 charged. Food tasted like it had all been microwaved or kept warm. Coffee was really bitter. The hotel reception and restaurant really needs a facelift to keep up with some of the refurbished rooms.

Really lovely hotel in beautiful scenery. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the restaurant is great, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It was just a stop on the way somewhere else for us but we both wished we had another night. I would definitely stay here again.

We booked the Garden Suite which was a lovely room with stunning views. Unfortunately on the first night there was a young family in the room above us and they were pretty noisy jumping up and down. I asked reception to have a polite word which they did. My only other negative was the bed; the mattress was so hard it was a killer. The hotel did put a duvet directly onto the mattress but I think having the option to have a topper would have been better, especially given the luxury sell of the suite. With all that said, staff were responsive, the room itself was lovely and the evening meal was delicious

The room was big, light and airy. Very clean. Maybe the bathroom could do with a little makeover. However, the staff were utterly lovely. They were friendly and happy and made me feel most welcome in the most relaxed way. I would happily return here.

The room was lovely and big, bathroom very clean and staff all friendly. About a half an hour bus from Hereford town. There was an issue with the wifi in the room though, so had to use my data to work remotely.

Overnight stay for work. Hotel contacted me to ask whether i wanted to book an evening meal which was very thoughtful. Check in was quick and easy. TV did not work in the room and room was changed quickly. Very polite and helpful staff.

The staff were really friendly and accommodating - I needed a quiet room and the manager assured that - I love the old style feel of the hotel, with real keys rather than digital ones - also the cook was excellent and I dined in the evenings in ‘splendid isolation’. I was doing some academic work in the evenings there and I needed some photocopies done, which the receptionist did for no charge. The overall feeling of the hotel was very relaxed, and I loved coming back to my room after my days walking on Garway Hill

The hotel was out from the city centre but was on a bus route to get into Hereford so we left the car in their free carpark and went shopping and watched the rugby. Lovely area and the views were fantastic from the hotel dining rooms. There was new menu starting yesterday and the choice of meals were very good. We had dinner - pork loin and a braised beef cheek, which were both excellent and a choice of a hot cooked breakfast or a cold buffet , both were really good. The room was a little dated but the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The drinks were reasonably priced and there was a good choice. Would definitely stay at the hotel again.

Set in beautiful countryside this lovely old english building is perfect for a relaxing night away or even just somewhere to stay whilst visiting Hereford like i did. Good food and good amenities. Staff are helpful and polite. Rooms are clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Business overnight stay, nicely decorated main areas however the room I had is dated. The restaurant food and breakfast were excellent. Nice area out of town and quite with lovely views. Would stay again when visiting the area.

Lovely room but if you’re planning on staying, choose an upstairs room. We were in the Garden Suite on the ground floor and we were kept awake by the couple in the room above who kept walking back and forth constantly. This woke us up at 7am every morning. The breakfast certainly isn’t worth the £12.50 charged. Food tasted like it had all been microwaved or kept warm. Coffee was really bitter. The hotel reception and restaurant really needs a facelift to keep up with some of the refurbished rooms.

Really lovely hotel in beautiful scenery. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the restaurant is great, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It was just a stop on the way somewhere else for us but we both wished we had another night. I would definitely stay here again.

When we arrived the evening staff were great, friendly and efficient. Our evening meal was good British menu well cooked and presented. Our room was clean, not the most comfortable beds, but the real problem was lack of sleep. We were on the ground floor and there was no sound proofing, the person/people in room above were walking or moving stuff around until midnight and started again just after 4am. Their floorboards were creaking so loudly that after not being able to sleep until late, we were woken again in the early hours!! It seems t e hotel is used by travelling workers? In the morning I was going to have a polite word at check out but the elderly man and two women were in conversation and just handed us a copy of our receipt without asking if we’d had a good stay so we left. I really don’t know how this hotel gets 10/10 reviews???

OK. Tries to be a good quality hotel but needs just a little more work to become excellent. Staff good and ample parking. No fridge in room, or other niceties like safe. Needs a refurb in a lot of areas, looks very dated, and room locks are old style US ones. Breakfast is expensive for what you get, very limited choice and hot food is served to you, not buffet style which I much perfer. No fruit and little choice of cereals, also coffee not nice from machine. Evening meal food is good, tasty and well cooked.

Had a lovely two night stay recently. The rooms are comfortable, but did notice a bit of noise coming through from the rooms next to us; luckily not enough to keep us awake. The restaurant was really good, and both nights we could not fault the food. I definitely recommend the Herefordshire Sirloin steak with port and stilton sauce! Will probably book again in the future.
