The room itself was good.the onsite however needs work. Area behind sink had brown residue/ staining. Corner above bath had a small patch of black mould and drill holes in tiles that hadn’t been filled. This however was only minor and didn’t spoil my enjoyment or require any immediate action. The staff were excellent, professional and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. I was disappointed that the pool was permanently closed. I chose this hotel for closeness to the person I visit, and because it has a pool. I’d probably still use it next time because it is convenient and good value for money, but I really did miss the pool… Over all a very enjoyable place that I have now stayed in 4 times. I

The room was much more spacious than anticipated. We were a little disappointed that the swimming pool is no longer available as those amenities drew us into the hotel. The hotel is beautiful inside and out and the stay itself was fantastic only the spa and pool amenities that prevented the stay from being a perfect stay.

The staff and catering ranked well. But there were a few downsides: (a) we booked this hotel in particular to use the pool and sauna, but both were shut for the duration of our visit (b) the location was far out of town, by a garden centre. Not ideal for a day's sightseeing in town. (c) whilst the evening meals were high quality - our compliments to the chef - the breakfast was rather ordinary.

The staff were brilliant. The only lift was out of order. My room was large but very tired. Apart from reception the whole place needs a revamp. The spa was closed. The room was air conditioned which was vital as there was only one small opening window. I didn’t eat in the hotel but other customers seemed happy with the quality of the food.

Location was perfect, food was reasonably priced and tasted delicious. Room was a nice size and a big benefit of having a bath too, Shane the pool and sauna were out of action, gym was a good size however, two water dispensers both empty. Key cards didn’t work for the room, but staff quickly rectified this and moved my room and also a drinks voucher for my troubles. Breakfast had a lot of choice and was piping hot. Will stay again x

There is no pool which is super unfortunate as that's originally at the last booking why we chose this place as not many around that have a pool now which really made them stand out for us. However that being said we did enjoy our stay the first time and have definitely enjoyed our stay again this time, even with some unfortunate events this time. Our kettle appeared to have quite a bit of timescale and what looked like mould however I cannot fault the service as the ladies on reception dealt with the issue quickly and politely. Our electric also went off in the room but this was again sorted promptly and professionally. The service and communication is fantastic and the hotel itself feels like it has a really posh feel about the place. It was beautifully decorated ready for Christmas which was a nice touch. I have to say the room we were in this time was smaller than last time and the bathroom looked a little worn and tired but that being said it didn't affect our stay and we would definitely return again just wear and tear of a busy hotel. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal and fantastic value for money and again the service throughout breakfast was fantastic the attention to detail from the lady behind us and something looking a little under cooked and taking it straight back was fantastic because the lady didn't complain she was just so acutely aware it didn't look quite right. The choices of food was great and we will definitely order again!! Loved it!!

Night 16/9 - left most of my lasagne in the restaurant as it was so dry it was inedible. Staff very apologetic, not charged for meal. Night 16/9 - 23.00 roadworks immediately outside made it impossible to sleep, asked for a different room. Night porter eventually found us another room at 01.00. Night 16/9 - 04.00, 06.00, 07.00 & 08.00 faulty fire alarm went off several times. Maybe got a total of 4 hours sleep. Day 17/9 - Buffet breakfast very good, staff friendly and helpful. Reception staff very helpful in dealing with our complaints of the previous night. Was given free breakfasts for the duration of the stay. Staff great. Day 17/9 - Noticed numerous stains (the type that seem to be almost like tar) on the pink carpet, several areas around bath with bad black mould, badly cracked handle on bath with ingrained dirt, several rusty spots on the oil-filled towel rail which was also leaking oil, build-up of dirt at the back of the sink where the silicone hadn't been kept clean. Night 17/9 - Had a drink in the bar then left the hotel for something to eat. Bar staff friendly. No other problems that night. Day 18/9 - Great breakfast again, staff very good. Night 18/9 - Had a drink in the bar then went to Hickory's Smokehouse next door (nothing to do with the hotel) for a truly awful meal that had fat and gristle with all of their meat. Cleaning staff had not left any toilet paper so we used the facial tissues. Day 19/9 - Good breakfast, reception friendly checking out.

This particular room had a lot of dust on surfaces. Bathroom heated towel rail was quite rusty and the chrome surfaces didn’t look like they had ever had a good clean. Toilet seat was at an unusual side angel and moved when you sat on it. Bed base had a large visible stain. For the price I paid it really was unsatisfactory.

The hotel is quite run down. The room we had hadn't been cleaned thick dust ontop of the woodwork and carpet edges the shower area was run down and dirty. The breakfast was nice and the staff was helpful

The bed was comfortable is the only good thing I can say. There was hair on the shampoo bottles, hair on the carpet. Plastic clothing tags with hair also on the carpet. The furniture obviously hadn’t been pulled out and cleaned in a while as it was quite dirty. The room wasn’t made up on one of the days of our stay. The night receptionist was asleep when we tried to check out! Despite our attempts to rouse him we were unable! The free WiFi is pretty useless/non existent depending on where you are in the hotel. The bathroom did have lovely big towels. The bath produced lovely hot water the shower however only delivered Luke warm water at best even after a long wait.

We had a room right at the end of a corridor so it was very quiet considering there was a wedding there. The room was spacious and clean and the air con was great for such a hot weekend. The bed was comfy, the only thing we were missing was an iron and ironing board which would of come in handy. We will definitely stay here again.

Visiting family in the area so a very handy place to stay. Our one negative would be the taps in the bathroom. The shower tap was far too stiff and we really struggled to turn the shower off. The hot tap in the wash basin was also very stiff, but not as bad as the shower.

Receptionist was disinterested when I was told i did not have breakfast included which meant we paid almost £300 for 2 nights in a hotel which we couldn't use the pool the lift was out of order so people who couldn't walk very well struggled enormously. Our room was ok but the toilet was disgusting black mold everywhere the shower was difficult to use and they have a cheap plastic toilet seat that fell apart as soon as you sat on it absolutely terrible never will we book there again.

Our room was ok but the toilet was disgusting black mold everywhere the shower was difficult to use and they have a cheap plastic toilet seat that fell apart as soon as you sat on it absolutely terrible never will we book there again.

I have to say Olivia and Sophie are 2 of the best receptionists i have encountered anywhere in the world, and we travel a lot. So kind and attentive they were excellent.

There is no pool which is super unfortunate as that's originally at the last booking why we chose this place as not many around that have a pool now which really made them stand out for us. However that being said we did enjoy our stay the first time and have definitely enjoyed our stay again this time, even with some unfortunate events this time. Our kettle appeared to have quite a bit of timescale and what looked like mould however I cannot fault the service as the ladies on reception dealt with the issue quickly and politely. Our electric also went off in the room but this was again sorted promptly and professionally. The service and communication is fantastic and the hotel itself feels like it has a really posh feel about the place. It was beautifully decorated ready for Christmas which was a nice touch. I have to say the room we were in this time was smaller than last time and the bathroom looked a little worn and tired but that being said it didn't affect our stay and we would definitely return again just wear and tear of a busy hotel. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal and fantastic value for money and again the service throughout breakfast was fantastic the attention to detail from the lady behind us and something looking a little under cooked and taking it straight back was fantastic because the lady didn't complain she was just so acutely aware it didn't look quite right. The choices of food was great and we will definitely order again!! Loved it!!

After booking and paying for our room we were notified of the spa and pool being closed… poor show on your behalf as it should have been mentioned beforehand. Breakfast was chaos as lots of missing items on the self service and huge queues due to this and extremely long waits. Staff seemed to struggle to top food and drinks up along with cleaning tables so lots of guests couldn’t be seated.

Reasonably priced hotel with buffet breakfast included! Friendly staff, large rooms and great location if you're visiting Lincoln castle/city. Would definitely recommend and use again! Wish they had EV chargers but I'm sure they'll come in time.

Stayed one night hotel clean and enjoyed using the pool. Reception very helpful with advice about going into Lincoln I think a larger sign to the hotel would be helpful as we missed the turning as it look like it was only access to the Garden Centre.

Good location to break a journey on outskirts of Lincoln. Big well maintained car park! All statff we came across were friendly and helpful. Room a good size and well fitted out - overall excellent for our purposes.

Night 16/9 - left most of my lasagne in the restaurant as it was so dry it was inedible. Staff very apologetic, not charged for meal. Night 16/9 - 23.00 roadworks immediately outside made it impossible to sleep, asked for a different room. Night porter eventually found us another room at 01.00. Night 16/9 - 04.00, 06.00, 07.00 & 08.00 faulty fire alarm went off several times. Maybe got a total of 4 hours sleep. Day 17/9 - Buffet breakfast very good, staff friendly and helpful. Reception staff very helpful in dealing with our complaints of the previous night. Was given free breakfasts for the duration of the stay. Staff great. Day 17/9 - Noticed numerous stains (the type that seem to be almost like tar) on the pink carpet, several areas around bath with bad black mould, badly cracked handle on bath with ingrained dirt, several rusty spots on the oil-filled towel rail which was also leaking oil, build-up of dirt at the back of the sink where the silicone hadn't been kept clean. Night 17/9 - Had a drink in the bar then left the hotel for something to eat. Bar staff friendly. No other problems that night. Day 18/9 - Great breakfast again, staff very good. Night 18/9 - Had a drink in the bar then went to Hickory's Smokehouse next door (nothing to do with the hotel) for a truly awful meal that had fat and gristle with all of their meat. Cleaning staff had not left any toilet paper so we used the facial tissues. Day 19/9 - Good breakfast, reception friendly checking out.

The staff and catering ranked well. But there were a few downsides: (a) we booked this hotel in particular to use the pool and sauna, but both were shut for the duration of our visit (b) the location was far out of town, by a garden centre. Not ideal for a day's sightseeing in town. (c) whilst the evening meals were high quality - our compliments to the chef - the breakfast was rather ordinary.

I had a really great stay. It was a tad confusing locating my room as it was through a door labelled ‘platinum suite’ which to me suggested a conference room. The room was nice and spacious, the bed and pillows were really comfortable. The TV had issues, nearly all channels besides BBC1 had poor signal. The shower was also extremely powerful and only had a setting to change the temperature rather than the pressure. The food was exceptional! I had the tempura king prawns and cod loin risotto - highlight recommend. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The gym was okay.

As an overnight stay, it was fine, a shame the pool was closed for refurbishment, and I was there with my 11 year old grandson, so that was a bit disappointing, as there is very little to do round and about, but the room was good, staff lovely, and food fine

The staff here are great and are the redeeming feature of this hotel. I travel a lot, and the room here was in the top 3 of worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Super old, and not maintained well at all. Feels like the room they keep back for people who don’t book directly. The window was completely full of webs - reaching to open the window my hand went right through a web, and the sides were covered. I have photos. The floors were dirty, thick layers of dust over every piece of furniture. Very impractical also - the wall where the bed is has no power - and therefore no lights. Bathroom is incredibly mouldy and dark.

We only dealt with the receptionist and she was very polite and helpful. The hotel however was very dated. The rooms need completely modernising. There were big cobwebs. Extremely rusty plug hole on the sink. The lampshades on the wall lights were all wonky. We even laughed because we thought we were being pranked and they'd been put like that on purpose. Beds were clean and comfortable though. All in all it just needs modernising and the cleaners need to be more conscientious.
