We enjoyed our time at the Olde Barn Hotel. It was a trip to visit family who lived local. In general the stay was good, the food was ok except for one morning when we down for breakfast there was no staff available, not much in the way of cooked breakfast. I went to reception to comment on no staff and within 5 minutes staff appeared. By then I was put off by the food that was available. I just had toast and cereal. I would stay again as both my wife and I liked the spa and swimming pool. If you go take a robe with you as there is a cost to hire robes of about £7.

We had room 605, it was very big with a big bathroom and jacuzzi style bath. Radiator wasnt working but there was a heater on the wall which we needed to turn up as it was cold, once it kicked in the room was toasty. Bed was very comfortable and huge, super king I'd guess. Pool was lovely, as was jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were not hot enough, that was my only negative comment about my stay.

This property is looking tired and is in need of modernisation, the bed was saggy and uncomfortable, you have to pay a pound to use towels in the spa, the food was limited for an evening meal but breakfast was good. Staff were friendly but lacked training to resolve issues like lack of gas for the bar drinks, and check out was slow.

Lovely location and reasonably friendly staff. Our room was at the top with a fantastic view. One of the slopping room windows was broken. It had been ‘fixed’ with lots of sellotape which didn’t work and lead to a loud noise like a trapped queen bee due to it being a very windy night. The facilities for leisure were great but we had to pay for use of towels and this had not been advertised in the noticed left in the room. The pool also closed at 6:50 on Saturday evening so after an arrival at 5:40 we had little time to use.

Two nights staying during the week for a work meeting. It was okay, a little tired in places but the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean. It is a bit dated and tired looking but served its purpose. The bed was okay. Pool area was nice and well maintained.

Bedroom big, clean and comfortable. Large bed. Small but powerful shower. Breakfast was ok. Good bacon and eggs but the rest was not as good. Options for people though. I wouldn't really call it a spa but the sauna and steam room were fine along with the pool if not busy. The gym was a little dated but had plenty to have a good workout. All was included at no extra cost unlike some places which was good. Didnt have an evening meal or attend the bar area but it seemed busy enough.

They upgraded our room i dread to think what double was like. The room was dirty dust on top of lamps wardrobes they must hoover around furniture as when you moved table it was filthy. The fittings was all odd some old some new. Then the pool and spa facilities was dirty. Womens changing room smelt of drains. The pool filers was dirty. Sauna was not warm first day second day was to hot. The jacuzzi was out of use got told it be fixed by tomorrow then got told a week then by 4pm lies. Went to get clean towels and got told we wasnt allowed to take to pool side but got told to bring them by other staff. Felt like we couldnt ask for tea milk etc as felt it was to much trouble. The breakfast was stone cold and coffee machine only give u half of cup. We stay in oir room all day on second day only came out for 30 mins. As we had bad stomach and i got bite under my eye so eye was sore and hard to open. Spent most of our stay on toilet. Very disappointed as supposed to be a relaxing break as both work long hours me being a frontline worker for NHS. But came home feel worst actually in bed writing this. Very upset about the whole stay.

I phoned and emailed unsuccessfully several times the week before our stay to request reservation of a table for dinner on our arrival day. At check in was told restaurant was closed, but food was available in the bar. Several options on the very restricted bar menu were not available. Bedroom walls and skirting very dirty, black mould in one corner and on window frame, dirty net curtains, holes in blackout curtains, rubbish on floor behind cupboard moved away from the wall in order to plug kettle into power point. Thin, lumpy duvets. Bathroom was clean and looked recently refurbished and equipped for a disabled guest. Adjacent to the room, the intruder alarm and fire door escape bolt had been disconnected/interfered with. Breakfast in the restaurant was good. Very efficiently staffed.

Check in went ok, informative but nothing personal. Room was a dissapointment - old tissues left by the bed, hair bobbles on desk & cobwebs and spiders in cornere of bathroom. Right hand side lamps by bed didnt work & switch seemed melted somehow - not great when you have a 3yr old. Food in bar nice but was full & only one member of staff on duty. Pool nice. Breakfast could have been better with items being topped up before they ran out (15min wait for any fried eggs). Check out incredibly impersonal - no ask of how stay was or any sort of small talk (i was only one checking out so wasnt as if she was rushed off her feet) just took room number, said bill was settled & a swift goodbye before she headed back in back office.

Average hotel with a great access to a pool, steam room & sauna. Good bar with a good selection of drinks. Room was nice enough with a jacuzzi bath but the bed was too soft for me. Cobwebs in room, corridors & restaurant. Breakfast was ok but basic. It wasn’t expensive so fine for what we paid. It could do with a good clean and a lick of paint.

We booked and paid in advance apart from the dog which was an additional only payable on arrival. On arrival we were asked to pay in full although we already had and they tried the same on checkout. The room key was continuously faulty and could not get it out room. The room was not clean or wholesome. Plaster falling from the walls, cracks, doors that don’t shut properly. Unclean surfaces and carpet. The spa was poor condition as well, a lot of black mould

Pretty disappointed, the beds in room 814 are terrible. Mattress is like sleeping on a camp bed and duvet like a piece of cardboard. This second time stay at hotel and bed & duvet the same. Food is average and over priced and so decided to eat at local village pub much better. Bar staff not that happy but reception staff were. Communal toilet never cleaned disgusting condition. WiFi awful. Hotel generally feels very tired and needs refurbishing or at a very minimum replace the beds.

The hotel is dated. Looks nice from the outside and the reception area and front are fine. Our room was located to the rear and it’s this part which is dated and not well kept. The room was basic (which is fine) however there was a large scrape / chunk taken out of the wall. The carpets were dirty and threadbare. The thermostat didn’t seem to work so it was very warm all night and the walls between the rooms were so thin that you could hear conversations from the other guests. The staff were friendly enough and the drink prices at the bar were reasonable. For the one night I stayed it was fine but if your thinking of staying longer then I’d think about staying somewhere else.

Room including the bathroom was huge but only had one electric small heater to serve both huge rooms so bathroom was freezing and warm not very warm. Room was in need of decorating and small window overlooking a wall and corridor of hotel so very dark. We paid for superior room but I don't think that was what we got but we requested a ground floor room as we had heavy cases so maybe they didn't have a superior one on the ground floor. Good bar meal and prices. We have stayed several times at this hotel but we were disappointed this time

Checked in and requested a high floor but not available. The bedroom was ok but the mattress was shocking and really uncomfortable. It was probably new about 20 years but horrible. Bar/Restaurant area was ok with a reasonable menu. Great location but dodgy mattress.

A pretty bland hotel. We stayed there because we thought it would be suitable for a business stay, however the wifi is so poor that other than basic (slow) web browsing the internet was too slow for any form of work usage. We would not stay there again as a result.

I do not normally leave negative reviews as you get what you pay for most of the time, however, The person on reception when we checked in seemed completely disinterested to even be checking us in. This hotel was convenient for where we wanted to be but needs a re fresh and felt like a truck stop.

Arrived on time to check in hut told our room wasn't ready and were pointed in the direction where to wait. 40 minutes later I went back to reception and was again pointed the direction of our room. No one knew where the bag trolley was so we had to manoeuvre our 2 large suitcases & hand luggage through hallways, swing doors past a room that looked like an old asylum to finally get to our room. What a horrible shock that was! Old, cold and damp. The curtains were too small for the window, the bathroom was a disgrace. It was a disability bathroom that was freezing cold, very low toilet and basin. Large stains on the floor and looked like a torture chamber. Spoke to reception and they couldn't care less by their reaction. The kitchen staff and waitresses were all lovely and very helpful as were the bar staff.

Receptionists a bit indifferent to our needs to change for a wedding before our room was available. Breakfast was like a 70 s Little Chef greasy spoons. Scrambled egg on our table before we sat down.. it was functional for the night.

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere but it was not far from Isaac Newtons home. The hotel had a great pub and restaurant, all meals were great, which was handy because not much around. My room was huge and well appointed. A gem in the middle of farm land.

Good staff and customer service. Good breakfast both continental and full English included. Nice large lounge / library inside seating area. Good attached bar with reasonable price bar food. Only criticism is some parts could do with some attention to decor and maintenance. The floor boards in the corridor outside the bedrooms were very noisy. Fortunately it is a relatively small hotel so not too much movement of customers in the corridor. The location is outside of Grantham so a car is required. It is located on a fairly quiet “B” road and the hotel itself is set back from the road. This makes it generally quiet and pleasant. There is an outside seating area which is pleasant in good weather. Unfortunately I did not have time to try the Spa and health facilities, so can’t comment. Overall for the price it is a good location with good facilities at a reasonable price.

Great location with it being so close to the A1. Free parking, great value and bed very comfy means I’ll definitely be returning. Showing its age in some of the decor but it would only put off the fussiest of guests.

Booked last minute for elderly parents. They only had twin rooms left but it was great for my parents. It was ground floor. They tell me the breakfast was very well stocked and very reasonably priced at £10pp when checking in. Great that breakfast time was until 10:30 on Sunday so they could get organised and have a lie in. They enjoyed the bar in the evening, chatting to people and watching the football. Very Happy

Slightly dated but all clean and comfortable- easily accessible from A1 plenty parking Rooms good sized and bathroom shower only but hot and powerful Restaurant a little pricey -£28 for sirloin and chips but was quick and tasted great! Excellent breakfast

Staff friendly & helpful. Food very good. Staff seem to struggle at breakfast time because number of guest. Had a table booked for my wife’s birthday, food very good but my wife’s choice for dessert was not available. Very disappointed.

Couldn't have our evening meal in the restaurant because OAP party took priority,should of been told at booking ,took a while for food to arrive in bar, not too pleased to say the least
