We stayed here for one night after attending a wedding near by. We arrived at 10 pm in heavy rain and were warmly welcomed at the door by the owner who quickly checked us in and showed us to our room. Next morning we woke to sunshine and wonderful views to the surrounding hills. Breakfast was very good and service was excellent. Fellow EV drivers may be interested to know that free charging is offered to guests upon request - according to the hotel directory in our room. We didn’t register seeing this on the hotel web page. The building has many historic features and has the normal quirks of an old building such as slightly sloping floors in places. We would certainly be happy to return here and stay longer as there is plenty to see and do in the wider region.

Stayed in Room 1 The Mellington suite which is a lovely room, fabulous views, feature four poster bed and a huge jacuzzi bath. Had both lunch and dinner and the Food and drink were very good. I can recommend the Porterhouse steak, absolutely delicious. All local produce and excellent wines from tanners of Shrewsbury. Cask ales and flagon cider were also very good. The staff and the locals are friendly and welcoming . Also met the owners who were also very welcoming and told us all about the history of the hall. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Absolutely fantastic stay. Staff are fantastic. Especially the lovely lady at breakfast. Perfect for out little puppy. Lots of lovely grounds for walks. A perfect beautiful stay. We will be back.

Amazing historic estate. Loved the sitting rooms up on check-in. Beds were very comfortable, we got a suite room for 4 of us. Beautiful view of the countryside from the room. Bar was cozy, good food for a reasonable price. Friendly staff.

We stayed for one night and had a lovey stay. We enjoyed a walk around the grounds after we checked in which was very peaceful. The food was absolutely amazing, both dinner and breakfast were 10/10. We would consider coming back just for dinner! The hotel was quiet and comfortable, just what we were looking for.

A really lovely hotel in a stunning area. A lovely room in keeping with the country house feel. The bar gets very busy and there is a delay for food but the food was tasty and good value. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend.

A stunning property in a gorgeous location. We we're in roon 9 overlooking the rear lawn & towards the caravan site, which sound incongruous but the site is stunning. The room was recently renovated in a French style, which was beautiful. The towels & dressing gowns fluffy, the bed firm & cozy and tea, coffee & biscuits in the room. The Welsh breakfast was extremely tasty & the staff helpful. Amazing 👏 ❤️

My wife and I stayed here for two nights over a weekend. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the lasy looking after breakfast. The room was lovely and clean and well furnished. The grounds around the hotel are amazing and so well maintained.

Beautiful old building with warm, friendly staff, especially the Manager. Bedroom lovely, just recently decorated with lovely new carpet, everything lovely and clean. Food was excellent, best ribeye steak I've ever had, cooked to perfection. Loved sat by roaring log fire having a glass or two. Can't wait to stay again.

The hotel location was excellent and it’s a beautiful period building . We stayed in room - the only room without a picture (other than the headboard) which should’ve been a sign . Room was small and very tired , stained carpets and bathroom was horrendous . The other rooms recently refurbished did look a lot better . The food was reasonably priced and good , the staff helpful and friendly , but the room was not worth £160 per night Would not recommend and will not be going back .

The room was comfortable albeit a little small. Kept stubbing my toe on the bed frame. The fan was a small desk fan, suggest these be upgraded to tower fans that are a little quieter. Breakfast was tasty and there was a good selection. Great views, great scenery. Suggest you highlight the woodland walks more.

The property was majestic as you drive in, the room was spacious and had all the amenities you may require. The grounds were beautiful Great atmosphere in the bar, found dining in the small second dining room a bit bar, some of the cutlery was not clean. Bit of a hassle checking out had booked through a company and took a while to sort out. Staff were great.

Loved the grounds and setting. A grand house experience. Friendly staff but.......short on staff meant a very limited choice for dining for a Wednesday evening.

Staff very kind and accommodating. Large wedding in progress blocked the entire front of hotel and front entrance(where signs indicated check-in). I was walking and very ready to reach my room, but wandered around back, sides of building, before finally entered through some back door...By this time, wedding guests had seriously clogged the entire lobby and pub. Fought my way to the bar, finally, and found staff immediately very sympathetic and as obliging, as possible under circumstances. An email warning of scheduled event would have been appreciated, and/or appropriate temporary signage directing diversion for check-in. Staff was super, but wedding party too large for venue. Grounds and room lovely and very comfortable, except seriously, and quickly overflowing, shower stall. Old building and unlevel plumbing, I was explained, but again, a head's up needed and some kind of fix really needed, as there were, literally inches of water outside shower before I realized. Breakfast was excellent, and, to repeat staff, as well.

I arrived later in the evening to check out, firstly the sat nav took me down lots of one car lanes and kept taking me to a gate at the rear of the property that couldnt be acessed. Then when i arrived around 10pm ther hotel was pitch black and locked up. I was banging on the door and windows in the dark and cold for 15 mins, then I went round the back of the property in darkness and found a number to ring a guy called Paul who managed the caravan park, he was very kind and managed to get in the hotel and sort a room for me, i was cold and distressed at this point. I did try to call the hotel numerous times to let them know about the late check in but no answer on the phone.
I arrived later in the evening to check out, firstly the sat nav took me down lots of one car lanes and kept taking me to a gate at the rear of the property that couldnt be acessed. Then when i arrived around 10pm ther hotel was pitch black and locked up. Lovely stay at the Mellington Hall Country House Hotel. The food was excellent, the breakfast was lovely. Staff all brilliant too and rooms comfortable and spacious. Everything you cna expect from a good country house hotel. The manager went out of his way to make sure we had a pleasant stay and was extremely warm and welcoming. The whole experience was a credit to the beautiful surroundings.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights over a weekend. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the lasy looking after breakfast. The room was lovely and clean and well furnished. The grounds around the hotel are amazing and so well maintained.

Had a fantastic stay. Staff were really attentive and made us feel incredibly welcome. The room was spacious, quiet and comfortable which meant we had an excellent sleep. We ate in the evening and the food was excellent, staff helpful and even got us the full ingredient list when we asked about allergies. The menu had more specials than I was expecting as well, which was a lovely bonus. Would thoroughly recommend staying here

We stayed here for one night after attending a wedding near by. We arrived at 10 pm in heavy rain and were warmly welcomed at the door by the owner who quickly checked us in and showed us to our room. Next morning we woke to sunshine and wonderful views to the surrounding hills. Breakfast was very good and service was excellent. Fellow EV drivers may be interested to know that free charging is offered to guests upon request - according to the hotel directory in our room. We didn’t register seeing this on the hotel web page. The building has many historic features and has the normal quirks of an old building such as slightly sloping floors in places. We would certainly be happy to return here and stay longer as there is plenty to see and do in the wider region.

Wow, what a fantastic hotel. Exceptional in every way. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and informal in that they made you feel like you were at home. Food and drinks were very good and reasonably priced. Location great with plenty of walks around the local woods and fields. One of the best hotel stays that we have had.

The room was comfortable albeit a little small. Kept stubbing my toe on the bed frame. The fan was a small desk fan, suggest these be upgraded to tower fans that are a little quieter. Breakfast was tasty and there was a good selection. Great views, great scenery. Suggest you highlight the woodland walks more.

Stayed in Room 1 The Mellington suite which is a lovely room, fabulous views, feature four poster bed and a huge jacuzzi bath. Had both lunch and dinner and the Food and drink were very good. I can recommend the Porterhouse steak, absolutely delicious. All local produce and excellent wines from tanners of Shrewsbury. Cask ales and flagon cider were also very good. The staff and the locals are friendly and welcoming . Also met the owners who were also very welcoming and told us all about the history of the hall. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

We stayed for one night and had a lovey stay. We enjoyed a walk around the grounds after we checked in which was very peaceful. The food was absolutely amazing, both dinner and breakfast were 10/10. We would consider coming back just for dinner! The hotel was quiet and comfortable, just what we were looking for.

A really lovely hotel in a stunning area. A lovely room in keeping with the country house feel. The bar gets very busy and there is a delay for food but the food was tasty and good value. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend.

This is the most stunning hotel I've ever stayed at.the building itself is breathtaking. The grounds well keep with the most beautiful views imaginable. Rooms are comfortable clean and like the rest of the place beautiful. Staff are all lovely, friendly and welcoming. Food well priced, good portions and beautifully cooked. Although I will say the fish and chips should be called whale and chips. It was wider than my mom. My fourth visit here and it definitely won't be my last. Thank you to all the staff for making our visit so memorable.

A delightful nights stay in Mellington Hall. Lovely grounds to walk around and very pleasant staff. We enjoyed a tasty evening meal and delicious breakfast overlooking the deer grazing in the fields in front of the house. We were certainly fueled for the Batch Burner event which was the reason for us staying in the area. Thank you Tim and team !
