Best Western Lamphey Court Hotel and Spa

Very clean, spaciousand comfortable rooms. Food was excellent and staff couldn't do enough for you except on guy working lunches and bar on Sun 30th May. He was hard to find and after waiting ages in the bar, was looking in conservatory, he came up behind me asked me to move so I did and add he passed I said oh it's you I'm looking for and he completely ignored me. Spa was lovely and relaxing, shame pool was really cold and hot tub was more like a warm tub. Even still overall value for money was excellent and would stay again

Excellent hotel. Very grand exterior. Studio room was clean and spacious. Pool and spa perfect with well equipped gym. Great location too for Tenby and some outstanding beaches!

We went for a quiet and relaxing break before our baby is due and unfortunately the pool area was cold and loud with kids running around and dive bombing into the pool so it wasn’t ever relaxing. Evening meal and breakfast were lovey though.

No tennis balls available for the tennis court. Steam room was not working. Aside from this our stay was good and the staff are friendly.

Hi, I would like to know where I can email regarding my stay at the hotel? It is advertised as a spa hotel however the sauna is only on on two days per week which is not clear at all, the steam room was barely warm. The young lady on reception couldn’t answer basic questions like when is the spa open tomorrow. The room we stayed in was lovely but we had gone there expecting to have spa facilities and not just be able to swim in a very chilly pool. I chatted with the gentleman at the bar and he seemed to know more about the spa than we were told. It’s only even running the sauna on a Tuesday and Thursday and they alternate that with the steam room. For a cost of £170 with no food and practically no spa I feel it is terribly over priced and considering it’s part of best western I do feel there should be a standard of service or at least honesty about what is offered. They also do not take any cash on site which again isn’t an issue but I do feel that must be advertised.

Only disappointment being the temperature of the pool so cold as many people had also complained. Otherwise nice enough stay

A dirty, unhygienic hotel. Do not stay here. I arrived for a 3 night stay to a damp, musty and dirty coach house room and requested a room change immediately. The damp was so strong it was hard to breathe. The staff were great and moved me to a room in the main hotel. The new room was filthy- marks on the sheets, and someone's dirty toenails in the bathroom! The staff said the dirty sheets were an issue with their contracted laundry servicers and housekeeping. But the room was not clean. I was then moved again to a different coach house room for my final night; this room has a dirty TV remote, spiders in the corners and coffee stains on the carpet, walls and bed valance. Plus an overwhelming smell of damp (again!). The swimming pool ladies changing room was also filthy with clumps of hair on the floors, and soil from shoes. I requested a refund from the hotel after taking photographs of all issues and after discussing with the manager- I sent the photos to their email, and was given a refund for one nights stay. I had an abysmal time and did not sleep well at the hotel which ruined my break in Pembrokeshire. I felt like crying. It is surprising that the hotel offering is 4* rated; the place is old, unhygienic and dirty. The staff are lovely however, and were very understanding, claiming issues with their housekeeping service. They did not address the poor upkeep/damp/dirt. The hotel needs to be reclassified as a 2* and needs a deep clean. Stay at your own risk!

I was quiet disappointed with this booking. The state of the hotel and room is way below average. I was excited to use the pool & spa area - the pool, jacuzzi, steam room all were cold. It was also being used as a public space so it was loud and definitely not relaxing! The room it self upon entrance instantly smelt damp, it has patched up jobs all around, on the roof, walls bathroom. The bathroom has mould and just generally feels unclean. There seems to be a major staffing & culture problem, beside the receptionists (who were lovely) all of the other staff seem over run and completely miserable. The breakfast was not good and definitely not worth the £16 I paid for it. I sincerely hope this place improves because it is situated in a beautiful spot in the world just a shame that the facilities are so under whelming.

Highlight: Really friendly receptionist. She’s a gem. Lows: we had the family suite on the ground floor. The walls and ceilings are paper thin. Woke up by the coughing and wheezing of the guests upstairs. Every footstep sounded like it was coming through the ceiling. Shower. 1975 called, they want it back. No water pressure. Almost impossible to set it to hot. The rooms are filthy in the places where you can easily see. Under the beds. Under the wardrobes, etc. These are easily moveable as we found out to retrieve an item that rolled under the wardrobe. It came out caked in dust and filth. Do the guests a favour and clean under there once a week.

Really enjoyable stay, the pet friendly room was spotless and had all the in-room amenities we needed.

Don’t eat at the restaurant it’s sub standard at best. Complained a few times to no avail. Waited to speak with the manager Claire. She refused to speak to me and told the receptionist I should email her. I was stood at reception and could see Claire but she would not talk to me. Avoid at all cost.

Lacklustre. Dusty.

Everything is run down, old and dirty. Very uncomfortable beds, dirty bathrooms. Shower very old and leaking everywhere, food a complete joke. Pool was ok but just ok.

Very dated and dirty room, tiny double bed and dungeon like second bedroom with single beds against wall. Checked and and checked straight back out. Manager eating her dish fingers and chips on reception.

Great hotel. The room was huge with comfy bed. I only stayed one night with a very early start the next day so didn't get to sample any extras. Would happily stay here again

Great location. Very peaceful and scenic. Car parking good. A great room with small kitchenette (studio room). Shower was ok (in the bath) Sadly TV signal kept dropping out. Wifi was good. Room very clean but furnishings looking 'tired' and in need of modernisation.

Pro's - staff were friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the breakfast was also lovely. The Spa facilities were clean and very nice. When we asked to change rooms, we were given a new room without any problems. Con's - the rooms are extremely tired and are in desperate need of upgrading. The hot water took ages to warm up in the shower and the bathroom is very tatty. The kids bedroom in the first room were were given had a very damp and musty smell to it so I asked to be moved. The second room was better, but again, is very tired and a bit scruffy. This hotel has so much potential. It's in a stunning location and the food, spa and staff are great. The rooms really let this place down. Definitely not a 4 star hotel and overly priced for the quality of the rooms.

Nice stay and spacious room. Lovely location for exploring Pembrokeshire. Very good spa and treatment area. Breakfast was a bit expensive and we couldn’t turn off the captioning on our television. Staff said they would fix but didn’t. But overall a good hotel and I would still recommend it.

Beautiful surroundings and lovely old building with a modern spa. Friendly staff but sadly the hotel is quite tired and really needs a refresh. I would not recommend the room (15) especially in the evenings with the kitchen fan running (sounding like a hammer drill!). We called reception to complain and they told us this was normal. Not quite the relaxed spa break we were planning! Overall a few tweaks and it could be a great stay - but sadly not this time.

Stayed on a business trip in a small double room. The room was dated but ok. They could do with swapping the quilts in the winter to winter quilts as the room was cold even with 2 radiators that seemed to work when they wanted to. Also, to get hot water in the shower you have to run the hot tap in the sink for a couple of minutes, not ideal. Staff though are extremely frendly and wlecoming. I wont be staying again.

Couldn’t sleep when the people checked in above us. The following night there was a wedding there that played music until 2am. Sleepless nights before driving 4.5 hours to London was not what we hoped for. Also, no air con.

If you want to stay in a room surrounded by scaffolding up a set of stairs then this is the place to stay. My 80 year old mother struggled to use the stairs or locate her room in the dark. This was particularly upsetting after attending a wake and we were given no warning about either the room location or the scaffolding. Definitely not what you might expect from a 5 star hotel or the prices charged. When booking I deliberately opted for breakfast to be included but on arrival was told it was not included. Please be very careful to check of you are expecting breakfast to be included.

We were in the older building with a nice room but could have benefited from a lift due to the open and narrow stone staircase. It was raining and the stairs were quite slippery. They did not have TV service and the wifi was questionible. The Bishops palace was at the end of the drive and was spectacular. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the dinners were very good.

The evening meal was delicious, good choice for vegitarians. A walk to the ruined Bishops Palace next door was a great. Amazing riuns lota of the old building to explore. The Hotel is set waway from main roads etc and was very peacfull and quiet.

A very dated hotel that would take me forever to write an honest review. Dust, dirt everywhere. Service was abysmal. Requested on both nights for dinner at 7.00pm,,was told not available, excepted 6.45 booking to be served at 7.25 with 1 other table taken on 1 occasion. Gratuity added to my bill automatically, without my consent as at check-in a notice clearly stipulate gratuities as discretionary... Shocking. So bad that I forfitted a 3rd paid night to stay elsewhere. This summarises our experience.

This property is on a beautiful piece of land. The tree lined entrance give it a picturesque majestic feel. The main hotel is simply stunning from the entrance. Once apon a time it was a 4 star as stated as the entrance but it definitely is not. This hotel however needs a great deal of renovation EVERYWHERE. The hotel entrance steps up are loose, the reception outdated, the staff need training oarticualirly the front of the house and bar area( def not 4 star) but service in breakfast area was great though. I would rate it 2 stars but it could easily be a 5 star 5 with renovation and staff training. We stayed in the courtyard room and they had scaffolding up that we weren’t told about and also had no electricity for 4 hours after check in. Absolutely no apologies or even a ticket for a drink in the restaurant. Up your game Lamphey Hotel and Spa and you could be a profitable hotel.

Lovely staff and atmosphere, this was our 4th time visiting and it is our go to place to just switch off and relax.

Quiet couple of days in beautiful Pembs. Central location was a great convenience for exploring the area.

It was a business stay: The hotel was very nice and would definitely recommend it. It was very handy for getting to the bridge too, only 15 minutes.

Overall it was a pleasant stay. We stayed on route to the ferry and it’s conveniently placed to access that easily. We used the the Pod Point charger for our electric car over night which was easy to use and worked well. The hotel itself is pretty dated with lots of temporary fixes covering holes/breaks. The part we stayed in was old so the floor above was very noisy when they were walking about as they settled for bed. We also used the pool with the kids on arrival which was nice and they enjoyed it. Unfortunately the dinner was fully booked so we had to get a takeaway. Same with the breakfast as there was no hot breakfast and no kids breakfast price so we gave that a miss and went to Martha’s kitchen which was great for brunch. We also visited Cheeky Chimps soft play to get some energy out of the kids before the ferry which worked well. Overall a good stay and kids enjoyed it.

Lovely looking place in a beautiful location. We like to walk and found the walk to Pembroke castle very nice, even though it was a very windy day. The pool and sauna are very nice, unable to get a massage ( fully booked) maybe next time. The lane in and out is not lit and very dark, so walking to the pub was an adventure.maybe some kind of solar lighting would make it a more pedestrian friendly. We enjoyed our stay and would visit again. Lovely place with lovely staff.

This hotel is nice and clean but seems a little dated. The room was on the small side, but this is Europe, so expected. It is across the street from the ruins of the Bishops Palace, which is interesting to see. The staff were all very nice, the dining room pretty good, and a nice pool on site.

Definitely not 4 star. Every 3 star I’ve stayed at was better by far! I suspect the “4 star” is purely because of the pool. More like a Britannia level hotel so if you want a modicum of sophistication, avoid at all costs. Breakfast was a horrific experience - a poor B&B would have done a better job. On the second morning I elected to go hungry before my coastal hike. I was also woken up at 7am by non-stop footsteps on the creaky floorboards and furniture being moved. Obviously some kind of communal area above my room but no soundproofing or any attempts to minimise noise.
