One Grooms Cottage Dunster

This cottage is very well equipped with lovely furniture and decor and within 2 minutes walk of all the shops and pubs in Dunster and the Castle is a short walk/drive away. The private parking is great and a necessity as Dunster is very difficult to park in. The Lutterell Arms serves very good food and the roaring fire in the bar was lovely as the weather was cold on our visit in January. Great shops in the town, especially number 29 where the owner went above and beyond for us evening letting us use her phone to book lunch at the Lutterell!

We need more stars! 5 is not enough for this beautiful cottage ideally located in the heart of Dunster, close to pubs, shopping, walking trails . The welcome basket provided by our hostess Melanie was more than generous as was her knowledge of the area. New restaurants , farmers markets, galleries , she has her ear to the ground when something she knows might interest us. The cottage was immaculate, the beds were extremely comfortable, showers delightful and cuddly warm. Parking was a real bonus in this lovely village. Outdoor seating allowed us to grab a bit of sun, read a book or just people watch. Melanie just made everything work for us, a tailor made holiday! The Letherens Bayfield , Ontario Canada

The house is positioned at the top of the main street, yards from pubs and restaurants - ideal. It benefits from, at least, two parking spaces. Be warned the house is upside down. Lounge / dining room on the upper level and the bathroom / bedrooms on the lower level. There is no toilet on the upper level and the stairs are slightly spiral.

Wow! This cottage was amazing! It is the first cottage we have stayed in that had thought of everything (and more) to make for a truly luxurious and comfortable holiday. All the furniture and equipment was good quality, top of the range stuff. There were footstools, blankets, flocked matching hangers in the wardrobes, Ghd hairdryers in the bedrooms, toiletries in the bathrooms, wine, cordial, tea, coffee, biscuits, milk, and butter to welcome us in the kitchen. Huge tv with Sky and Netflix in the lounge, tv in the bathroom, Google around the house, nespresso coffee machine, I could go on! They really had thought of everything down to the finest detail. We loved it and would definitely recommend it! There is also a large parking space, enough for 2 cars, right next to the property, which is an added bonus in Dunster.

Excellent central location with the added advantage of parking. We managed to get 3 large cars in though its a bit tight. Very well equipped and spotless throughout. Stunning decor. Can recommend, as always, Reeves restaurant. Also Luttrell Arms and especially drinks in the secret garden!

1 Grooms Cottage is in a good position in the village, with parking and is equiped to a very high and thoughtful standard. I would thoroughly recommend staying there. Value for money is good though I stayed for Dunster by Candlelight which carries an extra premium due to demand.

A really lovely well appointed cottage close to all the local amenities, very clean and comfortable, this has been our second visit and hopefully it won't be our last.

Everything was just top quality. Loved the decor. House was immaculately clean. Amazing area. Allowed dogs! Beds were amazing! Ticked all the boxes! Had a great stay!

The house was clean, beautifully furnished and well thought out. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and the welcome hamper a lovely added extra. It had a really homely feel and the location was perfect for exploring the area. We would definitely recommend One Grooms Cottage as a fantastic holiday property.

Beautiful cottage with parking. Everything you need for a break for a family. Property well laid out and modern. Very clean, good lighting, warm with comfy beds, Boxed games, welcome hamper, Internet and quality TV . We went for Dunster Candle weekend and downside was bedrooms a bit noisy early in the morning as deliveries going in.

The cottage was a delight to stay in, high quality furniture and decor, lovely relaxing spacious environment, fully equipped kitchen. Very comfortable beds. High standard of cleanliness. Clean and cosy, and fantastic location to explore the Somerset coast and Exmoor. Lots of nice little touches that made us feel very welcome!

Everything was easy from start to finish. We were thrilled with the generous welcome pack but the property was superb. A very high standard and everything spotless and a beautiful medieval village too. Highly recommend- you won’t be disappointed

Fantastic location , perfect for us and our family our 19 year old daughter and her boyfriend enjoyed time to themselves visiting nearb Minehead and enjoying the beautiful dunster village eating out and mooching in the lovely local shops. We all went to Tarr steps which is a lovely circular walk perfect for us all and the dog absolutely beautiful place. Dunster beach is just down the road great walk along the beach or path to blue anchor. The steam train is also worth going on you feel like you have stepped back in time. The rest of the week we ditched the car as the walks we went on you could do right from the cottage up to the tower just behind the cottage. We also walked to nutcombe bottom where it has the tallest tree in England. On the way back we stopped at view point for a picnic what a view. So many more places to visit and explore but we ran out of time. Would definitely like to return to explore more. The cottage was clean and comfortable and we loved the tv in the bathroom a real novity.

The cottage had all the mod cons , our little boy loved the tv in the bathroom and massive tv in the living room . The beds were really comfy. The availability of washing machine and tumble drier was great to wash out swimsuits and towels after a day at the beach. The location was excellent , 2 min walk to the high street and a lovely coffee shop on the other side of the road out side the tourist info shop. We ate in several of the pubs and restaurants all good but the highlight was reeves for hubbies birthday which was excellent.

Great location, with easy access to Dunster amenities and great walks (didn’t need to use the car at all whilst we were there which was a real bonus). Welcome goodies much appreciated and provided us with all the essentials and more. Will definitely look to stay here again.

This cottage was amazing, decor and comfort is outstanding.

This is a lovely quirky cottage with an upside down arrangement - bedrooms on the ground floor sitting room upstairs. Its located in the centre of Dunster village - a minutes walk from the historic yarn market . Our daughters loved all the gadgets - Okay Google, Nespresso machine and incredible quality TV and we all enjoyed the comfort and warmth. The kitchen was very well equipped and the cottage has a very fine formal dining area. Our hosts also provided a lovely welcome hamper which was unexpected and very generous.

Beautiful accomodation with period features and lots of fitter technology. Super comfy bed and basically everything you can wish for home away from home. Did enjoy watching tv while having a bath!

I thought the property had been renovated to a very high standard. It was very comfortable and the thoughtful items provided by the owners were much appreciated.

Really well furnished cottage in an excellent location. Internet connection was great. Kitchen was very well equipped. The cottage is very safe for kids. We all really enjoyed our stay!

The quality of furnishing, kitchen equipment. We reported that there was a terible smell from the drains this was seen to very promptly.

We were celebrating a family birthday and the space and ambience made it very special. The location was perfect for going into Dunster and we really enjoyed spending time in the town exploring. We did an Exmoor safari which collected us from the car park 2 minutes walk away. We would strongly recommend this lovely cottage and will be back.

The remote cenral heating control was difficult at first but OK in the end. Two blackout blinds did not work in two of the bedrooms despite the cleaner saying that somebody would call to fix the problem. One of the exteral lights to the front door needs to be repaired to stop it flashing on and off. Otherwise excellent.

I cant fault the whole experience at all. The cottage was beautiful the quality of the contents was top notch throughout and the hamper was a real bonus. Value for money is an understatement. You are given all the information you require from the start of the booking to when you leave. Would not hesitate to repeat the experience. Many thanks Chris Lee from Stoke on Trent.

Just had a brilliant weekend in Dunster, accomodation was first class, everything was thought of, even a welcome pack. Booking was very easy, with balance reminder email, can't fault anything about the booking system, so easy to use. Will be coming back.

Good location, easy access to village and local busses to Minehead and Taunton. Good walking area with plenty of good routes from the doorstep. Peaceful and relaxing, an enjoyable stay
