Sadly pool was out of action . Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. We had difficulty getting the shower to run hot but this was solved by running the bat hot tap for a while.

Bar only open 6-9 pm. Dinner only 6.30-8.30!! Slimming world staff parking in one of only 2 blue badge spots. Staff great especially afternoon/ late reception and breakfast servers

Excellent faciliities. We enjoyed having the swimming pool. The bedroom and bathroom was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff were very helpful, both on Reception and in the breakfast area. The breakfast menu was great . Car parking was sufficient. There was no traffic noise and the grounds were attractive and well kept.

The bar and restaurant let this place down. The bar is spartan, like a school 1950s canteen, and had a filthy main glass table with ripped 2 year old "Good housekeeping" magazines laying on top....there's a misnomer. My room was spotlessly clean and bed very comfortable. Ate in the restaurant on my first night as it was bitterly cold and freezing outside, so didn't fancy going out. There was no heating on in the restaurant, when i asked why I was told it was on a timer. Ridiculous!

Super friendly staff, accommodating, great food for both dinner and breakfast. Large room, plenty of towels, lots of choice for teas/coffee. The pool was lovely and warm, great for all ages. A few tiles were a little run down around the pool and windows were cloudy but this was minor. I would also advise descaler/filter for the kettle.

Hotel was quite tired and we were very disappointed by the fact that the bar wasnt open when we arrived, indeed it didnt open until around 18,30! It would have been nice to enjoy a glass of wine after driving for 5 hours, we also found that the towels were quite rough and didnt smell very pleasant

Everything in the hotel took me back to my younger days and set us off a reminiscing about the 1990's. There are some nods to the 21st century but luckily they don't get in the way. The only downside is that the bathroom could have used some black mould remover in places. If you're looking for a class of 1997 reunion venue I would highly recommend this hotel.

Food was awful room was dirty someone’s stinky pants under the bed and out of date cheese left in dresser drawers!! Radiator broken and was boiling hot all night,dust everywhere and big public hair in shower basin!!!!

Parking was easy and safe, we had a van so we needed plenty space. Breakfast was really good, the room was very large and so was the bathroom, all super clean. we had no time to try the pool sadly

Returning at 10.30 pm there was no available parking due to an outside booking. Excellent reception staff ,- especially the one who moved her car to provide a space for me. Floors not hoovered, faux leather chair split, paint peeling from ceiling, hairs in bath and on tiles.

Toilet not flushed, dirty towels hanging everywhere and lots of dead wasps on the window-sill. Spoke to reception - no apology or anything. Just told us to collect some towels when we next went past. Tired place but over-priced at £140. Really big room and v comfy bed though.

Overall a clean & comfortable bedroom & friendly staff. The room was extremely warm with no aircon or fans sadly. I was at the back of the property I think & the main window opened out over a flat roof with air vents so it was a bit noisy & warm air coming out of them. The cooked breakfast is a little expensive in my opinion for the cafe quality. The pool looks like it could do with some attention too, some green moss building up in a few places around the edges.

This is a nice hotel located close to the centre of Shaftesbury and easy access from the main road. Even though we booked a room with multiple beds (we assumed this was a twin room); it turned out to be a room with a double bed and a cot (I guess 2 beds) but not ideal when sharing with your mother! The room was very hot as well as we could turn off the radiator in the bathroom. Nice breakfast and pool though.

Room was like a hot house, ghastly attached bath/shower gel which one could not reach from a bathing position. No pressure from shower head for an actual shower, iron burns on the carpet. Had a terrible night. Nice night manager and good sized towels

WiFi useless very poor signal whoever you tried it. and unsecured network so unable to use for business. Shower not working properly scalding or freezing. No inbetween. Tv hit and miss works sometimes not others. Looks a bit run down from outside. But inside was clean. Evening meal was very good. But full English breakfast was sub standard. I sausage without taste 1 rasher of overcooked bacon 1 mushroom with no taste whatsoever half a small tomato and 2 poached eggs (as requested.)One cooked to solid the other undercooked and slimy. The black pudding was the size of a 50ppeice and tasted like it had been cooked in engine oil. The toast and has browns were great. The coffee was from a multi use machine and was foul. It was so bitter I couldn’t drink it. Saying that the staff I encountered were excellent. Would I stay again? No not at that price.

Overall we were somewhat disappointed with our hotel room in Shaftesbury. While the room and bed were large it wasn’t particularly comfortable. The bathroom floor was dirty in places and our bed was really only just pulled up rather than made properly. There was a very strong smell of chlorine from the indoor pool as you walked down the corridor. Thank goodness there were mobile fans in our hallway which we turned on every day that we stayed. On the positive side parking was just outside and the hotel was very convenient to the sights of Shaftesbury. It was also quiet.

The location of the Hotel is great for Shaftesbury town, a 12 minute walk takes you to the centre. We really liked it. We didn’t use the pool but it looks nice, although it seemed to be constantly used by locals mainly. Overall very happy

The reception staff were lovely. The man who welcomed us on arrival was particularly helpful and cheerful. The lady on reception was very helpful too…especially dealing with a slightly awkward situation with a man who thought he had left belongings in our room! The hotel itself is a bit ‘tired’ and could do with a bit of an upgrade. But, saying that, our room was clean and tidy and the king size bed was very comfortable in the ‘double room’ we booked. We used the swimming pool and sauna which was an added bonus. Again, the area was a bit ‘tired’ but we enjoyed it. We decided to use the shower in our room as the ones in the changing rooms smelt a bit. The food from the restaurant we had was particularly nice and so was the cooked breakfast. There was a really good choice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
