Whittlebury Hall and Spa

Overall I had a lovely stay, there were a few things that I feel need to be improved on, The pool was cold across all 3 days meaning I was unable to use it which was disappointing as I had been looking forward to it. I had expected housekeeping to come into the room during the stay which they didn’t therefore I ran out of tea and coffee ans wasn’t sure the best way to obtain more I also feel the rooms could benefit from information regarding the facilities and where to find things like the spa The bed was incredibly firm which is certainly a matter of personal preference There was also an event on this weekend which I was not aware when I booked, meaning my room was incredibly loud with music which hampered the relaxation Some of the showers in the changing rooms for the pool have a large amount of mould on the back of the doors too. Overall there were some lovely moments but some elements of the stay certainly dampened things

Wasn’t clear on arrival where reception was as it is not signposted on drive up or car park. Checked in ok but long distance from reception to room only to find no robes or slippers in the room, had to make request to room service to correct.Spa was over subscribed couldn’t get anywhere to put towels or robes as all chairs taken. Couldn’t access sauna or jacuzzi as crowded with second jacuzzi out of order.WiFi wouldn’t work consistently. Noise from staff area downstairs and outside prevented good sleep. Room was too warm so had to open windows and then had noisy pigeons trying to get in. So far with breakfast an unknown the stay is not worth £140.

Stayed a few nights as we had a wedding nearby. I only paid for bed and breakfast but that gave us access to their leisure facilities. They have a huge well stocked gym, swimming pool, steam room and sauna. The spa guests have their own facilities so there was plenty of space. Food was fantastic. Would recommend this to all.

The room in the annex was great, the bed comfortable and had everything we needed. The facilities were amazing, we really enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room and gym. Buffet breakfast was included with the room and was delicious too!

This feel very far below what I had expected from the listing and to stress any one other things wouldn’t have upset me but it was the list. 1. The jacuzzi was out of service 2. The bed was terrible 3. the smart TV wasn’t smart and only the regular tv part worked 4. There was no attention to detail (a blown bulb in the room) 5. The safe was locked shut 6. The view from the room was all messy 7. One of the bulbs had gone 8. The shower was a weak dribble and unusable. But here is why I was really annoyed in the bathroom was a sign all printed and on a folded card as if effort was taken and it wasn’t a recent thing tha said “ we occasionally experience water pressure problems. Should you experience this please contact reception immediately.” If you can go to all that trouble to make a nice sign why in a four star hotel can’t you get the problem fixed. Totally embarrassing if you ask me. I told reception and they knew nothing about it. The main building is nice, the food was nice but a bit over priced if you ask me for what it was. Had I paid a lot less and this was marketed as a 3 star hotel I would probably not have been disappointed but I expected better and it fell short. We booked a double room in the Annex Building.

A hotel of endless hallways. Dated, tired. Feels like a run of the mill highway hotel. Clean rooms but nothing spectacular. The large pool is notably cold, and a tiny hot tub.

Whittlebury Hall is a great hotel for leisure and spa facilities, with an excellent steam room and sauna. The pool is large but shallow, the jacuzzi unfortunately contained too much chlorine and the interior design around the pool dated. Everywhere was immaculately clean, room was light and comfortable, although a long walk from reception! Breakfast was excellent and staff very helpful and friendly.

We stayed here for one night, the hotel was lovely and clean, a big size bathroom with a powerful shower! The spa facilities were great, swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna, only downside is paying £4 per person for robe and towel use.

Clean room. Room service for breakfast forgot my croissants and hot chocolate was cold ! Bed was SO uncomfortable and lumpy, hardly slept. 1 x jacuzzi was closed. Massage by Chloe was fab.

Very disappointed. Bathroom rubbish bin was full of used of dirty sanitary products from previous occupants

Bed sheets had blood on them including the internal quilt, which says to me that the bedding hadn’t been changed from previous occupants. Shower hard did not angle down so we had to use it hand held, obviously not ideal if you’re trying wash long hair. Batteries flat in the tv remote. Other than the room and its faults the rest of the hotel was very nice.

My room was very clean, large and I had a comfortable stay.

The changing room in the spa area was not very clean. Hair on floor and shower cubicles. Food was average , breakfast food was cold. Charged extra for an omlette if required. would not recommend to friends

Our experience at Whittlebury Hall did not reflect the four-star rating. Our room was not in the main hall but in the paddocks, about 500m away. It was located above what appeared to be a campsite toilet block, and every time it was used the sound of the hand dryer fan carried into our room. The facilities were poor. The in-room hairdryer did not work and was falling apart. The bathroom had mould, and the drawers in the wardrobe were chipped with exposed chipboard in the corners. Breakfast was another disappointment. We had an early departure and mentioned this in advance, but a takeaway breakfast bag was not offered until we specifically asked. Overall, the stay felt below standard and not in line with the hotel’s advertised four-star quality.

We had a room in the annexe and it was extremly disappointing. The room was very old and worn. There were lots of dirty marks on the walls, the glass table top was cracked, 'leather' headboard was all cracked and peeling, the hook on the bathroom door was broken, the towel rail didn't work as the control knob was broken. Gap under the door let in lots of light and noise from other guests so we had to put the frayed cushions off the bed on the floor to block it. The room was dark and dingy due to bulbs not working. Fridge in the room was noisy but couldn't be turned off as it was wired straight in. No chair at the dressing table. Breakfast was ok. Evening meals in the Silverstone bar were not great. This hotel looks great from the outside, but didn't deliver.

Lovely place. On checking in my room had none of the amenities listed and a huge clump of hair was present in the bathroom so I asked on front desk and they kindly moved me to another room which had been properly made ready for guests. The next morning the shower wasn't draining properly so i had to keep stopping and starting it but it had good pressure and it was a nice, clean bathroom. Breakfast was a bit disappointing but dinner was nice (went for room service). I didn't manage to try the spa etc as i was there for work. Overall nice place, not sure it's worth the cost with other spa hotels around nearby though.

Super friendly and helpful staff at check in and throughout the stay. Very clean room and areas. Maybe less packaging in room by using refillables.

Stayed in the Paddocks. People were great, food was good especially the breakfast, gym is very modern if a little smaller than I thought for the size of venue. No WiFi available in room and movement sensor in bathroom made showering interesting.

Overall good value, helpful staff, The breakfast was just ok. Wifi in the Paddock rooms was really poor

Room 322 was fine overall, but the noise was disruptive. Trolleys were being moved between 10 pm and midnight, then again from 7 am. It sounded like rubbish being taken out, and it was very loud.

Mentioned to reception wjo moved us straight away with no fuss at all

Stayed in paddock , rooms so hot , fans not fit for purpose. As a lady in my own room did not feel safe as front door didn’t close so anyone can enter building . No visible security so felt uneasy leaving window open .

Have stayed regularly and normally really good but was pretty poor last couple of nights. Waited about 20 minutes to check in, had food at the bar and tables were dirty and had to get my own cutlery. To top it off the fire alarm went off during the night on 2 separate occasions and no acknowledgment or apology during the check out process.

Our room had been double booked. Why?? I need an explanation as to what happened. It completely ruined our stay. My spa treatment was a waste of time as I was unhappy and stressed.l by that point. Another waste of money I can’t get back. You go to a spa hotel for relaxation. It was anything but.

I am sorry to say that our stay at Whittlebury Park was a bit disappointing. We arrived on Sunday 22nd Sept to drop our car off as we were having a day at Silverstone but staying that night. As I waited in the reception area for my husband to park the car, I could clearly hear 3 members of reception staff gossiping behind the front desk. I have no issue with people having a chat, but very unprofessional to do this with guests around. Check in - there was a large party of golfers checking in, but only 1 member of staff!. Room - really nice room (standard double), but incredibly hot, a stand up fan was provided but this gave little recourse from the extreme heat. Window only opened 4 inches. Did not have a good nights sleep. Only 1 small tube of bathing gel for 2 people which only lasted 1 night and nothing for the morning. Breakfast - poor for a 4 star hotel. limited choice of fresh fruit, little choice of yoghurt. Lovely looking bread on display, and it was just for display purposes and only bread on offer was wholemeal or white sliced bread. I saw a waitress bringing back a plate of food from a table and the piece of wholemeal bread had mold the size of a 2p piece. My husbands mug clearly had a large chip! Cooked breakfast stand, bacon very overcooked and hard. Checkout - when I mentioned that room could do with air conditioning, I was met with 2 stony faced receptionists who made no comment, and did not even ask me if we had a nice stay.

Reception staff was incredibly rude when I tried to make a reservation for tea in the restaurant I was told there was nothing available until very late. I pointed out maybe if reception told me when I checked in over an hour earlier I’d need to make a reservation it would have helped but they couldn’t care less.

The hotel was very nice and the staff friendly and professional however i had booked a club room and when we checked in they tried to give us a regular double room.it was only because i queried then complained that they did anything about it once a manager got involved.Not really the behaviour you'd expect from this level of establishment. Really very disappointing and upsetting.

Everything was good except for the service. The reception staff does not speak well to the customer, they answer questions sharply and with expressions on their faces as if they are not happy to have customers there. The staff talk to customers as if they are of too high status and we are there for free. I travel a lot for work and I try to stay in hotels that relax me but the customer service at this hotel forever scared me away from returning.

Rooms were fine but I paid extra for this hotel as it included breakfast but when we arrived we were told that breakfast was from 8-10am which was not good for us as we needed to leave at 7.30am, when I asked if there was anything they could do it was a firm no, I asked if there would be some financial compensation for not being able to have breakfast again it was a firm no. I then enquired about dinner in the restaurant and was told that I had to book in advance. Not flexible in anyway.

Poor service at dinner excessive supplement cost of meal. Very uncomfortable pillows on bed. Again poor service at breakfast being told someone would take order for tea no one appeared but plenty of staff milling around plates and breakfast only warm very mediocre and eventually had to ask for a pot of tea. I could excuse if staff were run ragged but it was quiet. Not a hotel i would recommend to friends or family

Amazing hotel experience. Meg and Megan from the bar are a real asset to the hotel, willing to go the extra mile for every single request.

Ordered rooms on Expedia charged me top rate when we got the rooms they were 2 single beds and we’d paid for club twins manager was helpful but they were that fully booked couldn’t really do much just a bit of disappointment

Booked last minute to break up a journey to Luton airport. It's a gorgeous building and huge!!! Room was nice a double bed a little dated but felt really clean ( apart from the remote- bit I'm funny about those and always use a plastic bag) bathroom was clean. Had a fantastic breakfast, one of the best hotel we've had for ages!!! Wish we could have used the spa but got there late and had to leave early. Would definitely return.

Great hotel. Great location for Silverstone Nice food and good bar

Grounds and breakfast are fabulous. Bed was very comfortable, shower was good and room was very warm. I was booked into the Paddocks annex. When I checked in the staff member said it was a minute's walk. It was over 5 minutes of brisk walking in severe gales and rain, with inadequate signage. The room was not soundproofed and one could hear every word of neighbours' conversations. Only 2 hangers were in the wardrobe. The room lighting was bizarre. One ceiling light that could only be operated with the switch by the door. 5 side and standard lamps each of which was plugged into a different socket and had to be individually turned on or off at the socket or on the light itself. There was no means to control the room lighting from the bed. Goodies like crisps, chocs and water were left in the room with no indication whether they were free or if they incur a charge if you use them. No USB socket for charging your phone and the wi-fi didn't work - presumably too far from the main hotel. Maybe staying in the main building would be ok, but the annex experience was poor.

This is a big, luxurious complex with spa and golf course. I was staying in an annex which was a short walk from reception. The room was small but very comfortable, and spotless. For £75 a night, including a first class breakfast, it was fantastic value - I stay at hotels that cost twice as much and are half as good. It only gets one less than five stars because there was no TV remote in the room (although I know that a call to reception would have procured one) and there was no welcome information in the room, which could have explained the layout and the services of the hotel.

Staff helpful, room clean & comfortable. Shuttle/buggy to Silverstone Circuit gate, would be a benefit to the older generation.

I stayed here recently and really enjoyed my stay. Food and service was very good and enjoyed sitting having a coffee in the courtyard

It was just ok. The rooms were a bit tired and the layout was very confusing. The receptionist who checked us in couldn’t have been less friendly however the receptionist who checked us out was lovely. Arrived at lunchtime and all restaurants were full leaving us with the bar or room service as our only eating option. Left feeling underwhelmed

All first class except breakfast. All ingredients good but cooking and preperation third rate for such a great place sorry but it’s true . It’s a real shame

Disappointed with dinner menu in Astons would like at least one plainer dish as many people were saying.the same.Breakfast excellent.

THE BUILDING AND FACILITIES ARE SUPER, HOWEVER THE RESTERAUNTS AND FOOD WERE DISAPPOINTING , WITH LIMITED CHOICE AND VERY LIMITED HEALTHY OPTIONS, I'D HOPE A SIDE SALARD WOULD BE ON MOST MENUS THE SERVING STAFF WERE VERY NICE BUT THE KITCHEN LET THEM DOWN - COLD BURGER FIRST NIGHT PALE SOGGY (MICROWAVED?) PIE THE SECOND - PROBERLY WILL STOP ME STAYING AGAIN

Nice stay, enjoyed the leisure facilities and the bar for restaurant food when staying away.

The Hotel its self and grounds are very nice, the room was adequate if a little dated however that is the style of this hotel the pool and amenities are great, but the food was expensive for what you got. Overall a good hotel and very clean.
