We were disappointed to find that we had to pay for parking in the underground carpark and also for the safe considering it was a 4* hotel. Breakfast time was a bit of a shambles with stuff running out and wobbly tables.The quality of the towels in the bathroom were very thin and not particularly large, not the quality I’ve experienced in other 4* hotels. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed 5 wonderful days here, making use of the hotel facilities and exploring the local area. The outdoor pool and bar area are fantastic. The indoor pool and spa needs some improvement - while the pool itself is large with comfortable loungers around it, the jacuzzi barely functions and the steam room didn't work at all. The bedrooms are very comfortable and generously sized with balconies and a mini bar fridge. A kettle service is advertised to make tea and coffee in your room, but although we asked for it on the first day it only arrived on dsy 4 of a 5 night stay. Breakfast is average, and the evening meal is OK but lacking in atmosphere, whereas there a multiple fantastic restaurants in walking distance which I would recommend using instead.

Very large hotel, but we had a nice room. Friendly staff. We got a small breakfast bag to bring, since we left the room early in the morning going to the airport. We used the parking garage at the bottom, but there are also free parking lots in the area.

The hotel was 70s style Spain,bar prices extremely high,g n t and small beer 21.40 euros,bottle of water in buffet 4.40,the hotel is soulless entertainment was abysmal car park 10 euros day,food in buffet was very limited,and not good,would not stay again. We arrived quite early having had an early morning flight from the UK. We managed to leave our luggage behind the front desk, and the staff promised to call once our room was ready, which he duly did. The hotel lobby is quite large and has a number of soft seats, and door opening out to a central courtyard where the outdoor pool is. The room was fairly large with a small balcony overlooking the front of the hotel which caught the sun in the evening. The Bathroom was also a good size. Everything was clean, though I did find the beds a little too hard. There are spa facilities at the hotel, but we didn't know you have to book, presumably this is to limit numbers at any one time. Not a problem once we knew. You will also need a swimcap for the pool, which we also didn't know, so had to buy one from the spa. There is an outdoor pool too, but this was too cold for me in March. The breakfasts we found could vary dependent upon which time you arrived. There were a number of largish groups (golf etc.) who tended to eat between 07:30 and 08:30, during this time it was a bit chaotic, as staff couldn't replenish the buffet items or clear tables quickly enough. However, later in the morning things were a bit quieter and more comfortable. There is the usual hot and cold items, plus eggs to order. I was impressed with the egg lady who was doing a great job, multitasking eggs, omlettes and pancakes. The hot food too was plentiful, but I thought the selection of cold cuts was poor

Very clean and well maintained hotel. Staff very professional and helpful. Created by everyone during interactions, check in, maintenance, housekeeping, and cook at breakfast. I literally checked in walking downtown, and the room was ready by the time I walked to the hotel.

The hotel was family friendly. The breakfast was wonderful. We found free street parking. Tavira is extremely walkable and we were super close to the ferry to Tavira Island. The only thing I didn't care fore was the smell of cigarettes in the common areas.

Wir waren zum 3. Mal hier, aber sind diesmal enttäuscht. Die Sauberkeit beim Frühstück ließ zu wünschen übrig. Ich habe mehrmals mitbekommen das wenn der Frühstückstisch abgeräumt wurde das Geschirr was nicht benutzt wurde wieder an einen anderen Tisch gestellt wurde. Also die Tasse oder Glas das vor meiner Nase gestanden hat ca. 60bis 90 Minuten, da man sich beim Essen unterhält kann es passieren das man auch mal etwas spuckt. Und ältere Menschen auch was völlig normal ist. Und die Mehrheit war älter. Ferner wird die Tasse oben angefasst statt am Henkel. Ich dachte immer bei Corona hätten wir alle etwas gelernt. Wir ziehen unsere Konsequenzen. Für so eine Einstellung ist der Laden zu teuer.

The hotel was pretty much empty and they decided give me a noisy room with a view for a gas station. Entering in the cold room (winter time) there was 2 nails on the floor, just in the entrance. I was the only customer at that time doing check-out. Even so, I had to wait for the receptionist hang out the telephone, what did not happened. Moreover, they refuse to emit a fiscal invoice because I payed by Hoteis.com.

The room was lovely, clean and welcoming. The shower pressure was quite low and we found the walls were quite thin. We went at the end of November so much less occupants and we could clearly hear conversations in the next room. The overall feel of the hotel was nice and staff were friendly. We however hated the buffet at the restaurant. It was 29 euros per person and I’ve never left a portuguese restaurant feeling so disappointed. It wasn’t even because of the price, the “main courses” we’re all bland, americanized food, it was so bad we decided not to go to the breakfast buffet. If you’re there just for the stay, go for it. Don’t bother with the food.

I had contact with reception, cleaners, chefs, they all nice. parking in the basement free if you are a good negotiator otherwise 10 Euro a day, plenty food all the time. The only downside is the wall need to be soundproofed some neighbours are loud if you encounter this call the reception and complain.

Vila gale Tavira is a very clean hotel, with wonderful staff who are very attentive in their role. The food was nice and I recommend this hotel. The only negative we had was the WiFi that was non existent and didn’t work at all!

Staff were fantastic. BUT. Very run down, needs a big refurb. I had a junior suite and The beds were horribly uncomfortable. I don’t know why but there was some kind of plastic sheeting under my bottom sheet on the bed, and the pillows were either hard as bricks or lumpy. Worse 4 nights sleep at a hotel, so would not go back.

Rooms very dated. No USB charging. Reception explained the charges were all out and explained that I would have to purchase from a shop, that was closed. Pool table was super expensive for a guest. Towel process felt like I was treated like a criminal. Given I was told this was one of the best places in Tavira, i was not pleasantly surprised.

Close to a number of nice restaurants. Hotel restaurant staff not terribly accommodating so we didn’t eat there. Check in was slow. Front desk staff couldn’t seem to provide the simplest tunings like extra toilet paper or Kleenex. Spa area need some fixing up.

Tavira is a very quiet area of the Algarve. This hotel is very convenient to the riverside and catching the quick ferry to the pretty island beaches. The hotel is between a 3.5 - 4 star, I’d say. They don’t have any staff to help w/your luggage. The ample buffet breakfast was nice!

Excellent hotel great location in a great town, portuguese food is fantastic, we did b b and it was very good lots of options and great service. Park at the car park next to the garage its free! Plenty of really good cafes and restaurants. Close to the ferry for the beach

Excellent hotel and location. High quality food buffet for breakfast and evening meal. Bar food and drink reasonably priced Central to everything. Excellent holiday very relaxing! If staying again would ask for room not over bar area - not a huge problem though just our preference
