The room was spacious, and we had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Norge. We were able to check in a little earlier than the official time, just as I had requested when I booked the room. We also received an extra mattress without any issues. We used the swimming facilities, although there was an additional charge of NOK 250. Overall, the hotel is highly recommended. Just 5minutes walk around the city of Bergen.

The staff is overall not that helpful and not that friendly. The parking is extremely limited on site so you’ll have to park in a garage 10min away from the hotel. The location is great, at the heart of the square and nearby a bus stop. Walkable to the wharf. The swimming pool closes early (6pm?) and you need to pay and make a reservation ahead of time to use it (they need to specify this on the website). The fire alarm went off at 4:30AM and everybody had to evacuate in the cold. The staff provided no explanation of what happened and did not offer any compensation for the trouble.

The Expedia site lists one of the hotel’s amenities as: parking provided. We arrived at 1720 on a Saturday night and were informed that the parking garage was full. Instructed to go to a different hotel and see if they had any parking available. 4 hours later my husband found a parking garage offsite to park the car in, after returning to the hotel and having the desk staff tell a person ahead of him checking in to check the parking garage for availability. When the staff was questioned re: why there may be openings in the garage now when 2 hours prior the garage was full. The staff’s response was” that that guest was staying 2 nights”. My husband stated he was staying 3 nights. No comment from the staff. The parking garage my husband discovered had a total of 15 parking spots, 1 for handicapped, 1 marked Reserved for management, 3 with charging stations leaving 10 parking spots for hybrids or gas powered vehicles. The Reserved for Management spot was open at 1920 on a Saturday night so my husband returned to the front desk and asked to speak to the Manager to inquire if he there was a manager on duty or if he could park in that spot. There was no one with the title of Manager on Duty and whomever was above the desk clerk that she went to talk to did not want to come to the front desk and talk with my husband. Along with this we had no housekeeping service one day and a fire alarm on Saturday and had to vacate the hotel

Thanks for the opportunity to review your property. Positive: 1. Location was good - one of the many reasons I picked the hotel. 2. Restaurant and breakfast was good, although there were no non-dairy options. ie: Oat milk for coffee. 3. Housekeeping was responsive and good. Area to Improve: 1. check in was pure madness, plus no instructions on breakfast, the fact that the pool and spa cost extra (which by the way, is really bad practice, given it's a lot of the reason why I picked the property), 2. Not very handicap accessible. I had to go all through the bowels of the basement to finally find a way to get to the pool. There was no regular guest elevator (only stairs, which I could not use). Also, the room was as far away as possible from the elevator, not smart for someone who is mobility impaired. Nor was there any grab bars or shower chair. No instructions on how to use the phone to get anything taken care of in the room. 3. I had asked to already have the roll-away in the room when I arrived. I had to call two times the following day to make this happen.

Well located hotel, in the heart of Bergen. Staff were very helpful, cleanliness was perfect and the breakfast was very impressive. Wouldn't hesitate to return. Only thing to be aware of is that the pool is by appointment / booking and subject to a separate charge.

Not worst hotel I've stayed at but just an awful experience. Wasn't all the hotel's fault but it was way too noisy outside, I guess it's next door to a club so the base and people yelling went all night. Called lobby three times, no one picked up. so I had to go down and find someone then switch rooms at 1:30 in the morning. I had to go up and down five times to check new room, go back and get my bag, then go back again because key card didn't work. It was a hot mess. I was told by a rep they do laundry and I packed assuming I could give them my dirty clothes, then I get there and they say not on Saturday and Sunday so I wasted 4 hours at a local self serve laundry joint. The rooms are way too small, you take one step out of bed and in you're in the bathroom (and I've been on some small Euro hotels, but this was comical). There was confusion w my bag coming from a porter- guy at desk didn't care. Then there was a fire alarm at 4 am. It's a decent looking hotel and spa and restaurant are fine, good breakfast too. But why is there a loud ass DJ in the lobby all day? So dumb. Your $ is better spent elsewhere around Bergen- this place felt like a lipstick on a pig situation. If I wasn't "upgraded" to the room I got I would've either moved hotels or challenged the purchase.

Beautiful hotel with a fantastic interior. The food is good and there is a nice vibe in the hotel. If you are there for business and need a good night sleep , don’t accept a room on the side street with the bars as there is very loud music until 2 am and you hear this very clear in your room. Spa is unfortunately only available after and extra fee which surprised me a bit for a hotel for 240€ a night. Not really guest friendly when you advertise with spa amenities

We stayed for three night and they never cleaned our room. Our room was advertised as “large king”, it was the size of a “shoe box”. The staff could give no reason for the room not being cleaned and did not seem to care.

Vi ankom fredag em, først søndag ble rommet rengjort og ryddet. Dette kom etter at vi hadde gitt beskjed om dette flere ganger både lørdag og søndag. Oppholdet forøvrig var helt fint. Vi fikk et gavekort som plaster på såret for manglende renhold. Men dat var ikke hyggelig når det stod på.

Séjour touristique de 5 jours à Bergen. L’hôtel est très bien placé et la chambre était petite mais confortable. Il n’y a pas de placard pour ranger les affaires, il faut demander le passage pour le ménage qui n’était pas fait correctement à notre arrivée. Des cheveux trainaient sur le sol, il manquait des serviettes … La piscine, le spa et autres services ne semblent pas dépendre de l’hôtel. Il faut donc systématiquement réserver et payer… Pour le petit déjeuner si vous aller directement le matin cela coûte 500 KNO alors que si vous passez par la réception pour réserver c’est 800 KNO au lieu de 500 KNO… c’est surprenant, improbable et surréaliste !!! Bref adresse bien située, hôtel confortable mais traquenard assuré !!! C’est très surprenant pour la Norvège !!!

Har bodde på dette hotellet samme år i flere Prix alltid vært fornøyd. Men i år var det skittent rom, flekker på sengetøy og dessverre en dårlig opplevelse. Vi var flere familier og hadde todelt fire roms. Alle opplevde dårlig renhold. Frokosten var som vanlig fantastisk.

Nice and stylish hotel. Amazing breakfast. Beware there is a nightclub in the building with thumping music until 2.30 am on weekends. Rooms on third and fourth floors may be affected. Be sure to mention this at check in if you are alight sleeper like me (I was in 425)

The location and breakfast merit a 5, the rooms are a 3 or below. I expected a small room, but there was very little space for clothes or luggage. (We came off of the Hurtigruten, where they made excellent use of a smaller space.) Also, the room was very hot and couldn't easily be cooled down . . . at one point we had the door to the hall open to try to get some cool air.

Pros: Excellent location, comfortable, plenty of space in the room, clean. All the things you look for in a nice hotel. Would stay here again and recommend it to friends. Only con: Like most other hotels we stayed at in Scandinavia, you can't control the A/C yourself. We generally solved this issue by opening the windows at night, but if you are a warm sleeper this is something to consider. It was not abnormally warm in the room so it was fine (especially with windows open in Sept), but if it's very important to you to sleep with the room very cold you may need to compromise a bit.

The hotel is big with lots of rooms but the rooms are arranged in a way that there are lots of corridors and it may be difficult to locate a room. Rooms are clean and stylish, with reasonable space in this expensive city. Room facilities are also good. However, staff if the reception is not helpful. We asked for their help to call taxi to go to airport on our date of departure but he seemed not willing to do so. Although he agreed to call taxi for us, we eventually waited for half an hour with no taxi coming. The staff was not willing to help us follow up with the taxi company even on our repeated requests. We eventually need to find taxi on the street on our own. Service is a big issue.

The receptionist was awful. We waited in line for about 10 minutes before a trainee was able to help. He just gave us the key without providing any information. They could not find our luggage for about 10 minutes. It took about 25 minutes to check in. I realized that real full time employees were busy chatting with each other in the back room and left the reception much unattended. Same issue when we checked out. No one was there to help for five minutes.

Great hotel with perfect, central location for walking the city. The reception, in particular Elida was extremely helpful, efficient and professional. The cleaning staff was at another level too. I was impressed with every interaction from the start to finish of our stay at this hotel. Highly recommend it!!

Hotel Norge is an acceptable hotel. Not amazing as its star rating might suggest but neither was it terrible. The good stuff first: the room decor was nice as it was throughout the rest of hotel. The lobby had an air of quality and we loved the dramatic mood lighting, no doubt from some serious investment put into the establishment by Scandic. Norge’s location was also very good - all the key locations you’d want to visit in Bergen were easily walkable and the light rail that you can catch from the airport terminates just outside. Then there was the no so good stuff: check-in was long, despite there being three receptionists being on the welcome desk. The receptionist we got directed us to the elevators only to find our room was on the same floor and thus were not needed - confusing! The pool amenity wasn’t free for hotel guests and you had to pay extra to use it which left a sour taste after what we paid. Speaking of the room, to get to it we had to walk through a series of long corridors - past commodes, luggage trolleys and cleaning carts that were being stored. This felt rather unwelcoming and like we ourselves were being stored in the broom cupboard! The cleaning carts had printouts of the day’s events and cleaning schedule on it, complete with the Scandic logo - not sure that was supposed to be seen by us guests! If given the chance again, I would probably only consider booking Hotel Norge if no other five or four star hotels were available.

The hotel was very clean. We had just left The Grand in Olso where the service, staff and hotel were amazing. Our luggage was being delivered by courier because we didn’t want to take it on the train. We arrived at this place and I requested to have my luggage at checkin so I could take it up stairs with us. They insisted they’d bring up the luggage…20 minutes goes by and we called the front desk and they told us it was “on its way”…it took over an hour for our luggage to get from the 3rd Floor to the 8th Floor when we were the only ones checking in at the time (8p-ish). We had to go downstairs and get it from the same guy that checked us in…. And he still insisted he’d bring it up right away. When we did finally get the bags one of them was damaged but who know who did that. It seems kind of petty, but after traveling for 15 hours all we wanted to do was shower and go to sleep.

This hotel is very close to a tram station that can take you to the airport. Excellent breakfast with lots of great choices. Location is fantastic. Walkable to the fish market and Bergen shopping district.

This is a beautiful hotel and very clean. But holy guacamole was it loud at night. There is a night club downstairs and our room was bumping, literally pulsing, at night. Also free breakfast set up is a pretty cramped one. We have stayed in a lot of nordic hotels with their amazing free breakfasts but this is one of the more tight squeezes for the amount of people. I would still stay here again but knowing I need earplugs to sleep and a prayer to get the side with the lake.

Vi er veldig glad i Hotel Norge, det eneste vi har å utsette på dette oppholdet er hvor mange de slipper til på samme tidspunkt under frokosten. I desember måned-spesielt i helgene-da burde man ha et bedre system. Det er verdens beste frokost, men denne opplevelsen ble overskygget av altfor mange tilstede.
