The location is perfect and the hotel offers free onsite parking (we found out after we arrived and parked elsewhere so moving the car was a bit of a headache but lesson learned - check with the hotel directly before arriving). Staff was very helpful and friendly and we had a great stay.

Our recent stay at the Pembroke was our first but won't be the last. We stayed for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Nothing was too much for the staff who were EXTREMELY helpful. We arrived late (around 8 pm) and wanted to use the car park unfortunately it was full but they do have an overflow car park which is just a short walk from the hotel. The breakfast options (hot and cold) were great. The hotel is in the centre of town and very close to shops, restaurants, etc which is enormously helpful - I didn't need to use my car for 3 days because we were able to walk everywhere. On our final day there, we needed to leave the hotel very early on the Monday morning, and when we told the reception staff, they told us that they would ensure a breakfast would be available for us to take with us, and they did, including a coffee to go. This was very much appreciated. There was only one small downside and that was the Sunday lunch. There was roast on the menu that we were given but when we asked for it, we were told that it wasn't available. We very much enjoyed our few days there and would highly recommend the Pembroke Hotel.

The Pembroke is a great hotel in the heart of Kilkenny. Free parking that is moderate walking distance away. Very large bathroom and shower. Nice bar/restaurant and the breakfast was delicious.

100% for The Pembroke!! The staff was fabulous, welcoming and accommodating for our needs. A two minute walk to the castle. Beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms. Parking on site. We can’t say enough. Hoping to return some day. Rachel was particularly helpful.

The restaurant was amazing. We enjoyed cocktails and small plates in the courtyard in the evening and a delicious breakfast the next morning…both were outstanding! Parking was easy. Views of castle from our rooms. Definitely recommend!

Our room was quiet. The beds were comfortable. Everything was clean. It's in a good location. Parking was off-site but is available. Breakfast was very good. It may be dependent on time - my husband had a luke warm shower but mine was hot. I also dont like the spout in the basin as it spurts everwhere but that is being nit picky.

The place was wonderful overall, but our room itself smelled very musty. We all got stuffed up noses. I realize with the weather, that’s kind of hard to control, but I was a little surprised nonetheless.

Great location, friendly staff. Room had a beautiful view of the castle. We ran out of toilet paper our 3rd night and we were surprised no one had cleaned our room when we came back after a long day. The gentleman at the front desk asked someone to clean our room (no one was available at the time). He ended up delivering the toilet paper himself (God bless him). The cleaners came after he left cleaned the bathroom but did not vacuum the floor after I had asked (we got crumbs on the carpet after eating a scone). It was the weekend and they were busy.

We stayed for one night at the Pembroke. We would not have stayed longer, nor would we return. We were placed in a handicapped accessible room with a basically unusable bathroom. The shower had no walls, and was instead surrounded by very moldy tiles. The walls in the room are paper thin and we could hear the neighbors all night. The bed was hard with scratchy sheets. The location was great and the staff was helpful and kind, however the room was shabby and not worth the money at all.

A great find in middle of Kilkenny City that was only 1 min walk to Castle, which my bedroom looked out on. Exceptíonally friendly ataff throughtout hotel. Room and bathroom were spotless

All the staff we met were excellent. Efficient, helpful and friendly. The room was big, clean and with everything you need. The breakfast was unbeatable. Great choice and premium produce. Brilliant location, you can walk to everything.

Have been a few times and have always enjoyed the location and staff and the rooms are grand. I was a bit disappointed this time as there was works going on in one of the rooms beside me and they started before 9am… when I rang to ask them to stop so early, they advised that they would wait till after 9am… how is someone meant to enjoy a relaxing morning in a hotel when there is that type of noise going on? A heads up would have been nice and maybe drilling sound be after checkout!

I think your room type can really decide how your stay was here- we upgraded to the castle view suite and were obsessed with our room. Other parties staying on lower floors enjoyed the hotel but the experience was very different. For the castle view suite, you have a stunning view of the castle and a lot of modern touches, like a heated towel rack, rain shower and tub with bath salts, lights that can automatically turn to night mode or open your blinds, and some free alcohol in your fridge. The beds were super comfy and the air con worked well. Front desk staff was friendly and check in and check out was simple. They have a small parking lot out back which was free but tight. Breakfast onsite was spectacular- from the free items you get in the beginning, to the coffee, everything was great. We did have one cocktail at the lounge and they had a great selection, including drinks with fresh mint. Did not use the spa but prices seemed fair. Would definitely recommend staying here, especially in the castle view suite.

The hotel is conveniently located close to downtown and near the national park, the lobby and public spaces in the hotel were beautiful, and the pub conveniently located in the hotel was great. However it is very clear they put the majority of their money into renovating the public spaces of the hotel and not so much in the guest rooms. While the room was clean, the beds were very uncomfortable and the room was stuffy with no air conditioning. We expected more for the price.

Hotel was in the middle of town, lots of Pubs with music, some were quiet for conversation over a pint or glass of good whiskey. Most restraunts stop serving food around 8:45/9. Parking was around the block, free and safe. Our room was very noisey due to cobstruction the 1st morning, no issues moving us to another though.

Lobby and common area is nice. Room was dated and AC did not work nor did the window open. People were courteous. Parking as a few blacks away and loading area difficult to get into. Probably would choose somewhere else next time.

2nd time staying here, rebooked as handy city centre location with parking. We booked the superior king over classic room this time & it was very spacious & larger super king bed. Room looks worn though furniture dated very minimalist & needs a update blank walls without any personal touch. Window lock faulty & bed large but very hard but no pillow top. We also paid extra for breakfast which is good value but limited veggie/health conscious options & could do with more planning out eg a choose what you want hot egg option. Staff overall very polite & helpful. Will definitely consider staying again but just not quite 4 stars in experience.

The staff here were all above and beyond amazing and so helpful. The person that checked me in Vanessa , I hope I remembered her name correctly, had some great recommendations and was so welcoming. I walked from the train station which was a little bit of a walk but it was so nice out that I didn’t mind it. Great location.

This was our second time staying here because we loved it so much the first time. But we were a little disappointed this time. Staff lost a part of our luggage and had a rude staff member for a late greeting (11pm) at door and wouldn’t let us order room service. All in all would stay again as location and parking are great!

We arrived late (around 8 pm) and wanted to use the car park unfortunately it was full but they do have an overflow car park which is just a short walk from the hotel. The breakfast options (hot and cold) were great. The hotel is in the centre of town and very close to shops, restaurants, etc which is enormously helpful - I didn't need to use my car for 3 days because we were able to walk everywhere. On our final day there, we needed to leave the hotel very early on the Monday morning, and when we told the reception staff, they told us that they would ensure a breakfast would be available for us to take with us, and they did, including a coffee to go. This was very much appreciated. There was only one small downside and that was the Sunday lunch. There was roast on the menu that we were given but when we asked for it, we were told that it wasn't available. We very much enjoyed our few days there and would highly recommend the Pembroke Hotel.

100% for The Pembroke!! The staff was fabulous, welcoming and accommodating for our needs. A two minute walk to the castle. Beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms. Parking on site. We can’t say enough. Hoping to return some day. Rachel was particularly helpful.

This hotel has been fantastic( my wife and I stayed here). Sadly we were here as my wife's dad had just died and we could not stay at the home place. On the first night we were here, the hotel staff ensured we had a parking spot on site as I was arriving late from Sweden. That same night, Rosalie, one of the wonderful front desk staff, also gave us a voucher for two free drinks after we arrived. All of the staff, without exception, have been kind, compassionate and gracious without intruding, but we have experienced their kindness in so many ways during our time here, too many times to mention each one. We had chosen a suite to stay in this time; it was clean and perfect for all we had to do, including the to-ing and fro-ing of all the funeral arrangements and calls. The room was quiet and comfortable, and my wife LOVED the bath, which she enjoyed in the evenings after the difficulties of running around arranging the funeral. One evening, our last night, we ordered food and drinks. The food and drinks were 'lost' in the system and delayed. When we mentioned it, we were given our food for free and multiple apologies from the staff. Can I say whoever trains these staff does a fantastic job? I like that they have the autonomy to fix things or make decisions that keep the customer happy. We will visit Kilkenny regularly and in favour of more trendy or even expensive places we will come back to the Pembroke again because of our fantastic and memorable experience here

The Medieval Mile Museum is less than a 5-minute walk from the hotel. St. Canice’s Cathedral is also within walking distance. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Like my previous visit I was impressed by the hotel and its location and amenities. The staff in the bar were excellent and the food and service was fully up to expectation. The only slight disappointment was the service at breakfast, when I was provided with a pot of cold coffee and it took 10 minutes for a team member to appear to replace it. I can survive the morning without food but not without coffee.

Well-run hotel in the centre of Kilkenny. Extremely convenient for touring this historic town. Hotel was comfortable and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. However, the restaurant was very disappointing. We were looking forward to dinner there, but the male waiter treated us with indifference, although we were among a very small number of people dining. Some sort of air-conditioning unit was malfunctioning (we assume) and the background noise was pretty awful in the outside dining area. This was not what one would expect from a good restaurant. The restaurant was amazing. We enjoyed cocktails and small plates in the courtyard in the evening and a delicious breakfast the next morning…both were outstanding! Parking was easy. Views of castle from our rooms. Definitely recommend!
