Terrific hotel, comfortable, well-appointed, loved the fitness and pool facilities.

Great central location, parking right across the road, very friendly and helpful staff. Was pleasantly surprised by the range of equipment in the gym. Pool, sauna/steam facilities all very good too.

Hotel room was spacious and very clean. The Leisure centre was really lovely, lovely pool. Sauna and steam room.

Lovely property and walkability with shops, pub and the castle. Added bonus of using the workout facility across the street that included classes, a 25 meter pool, and hot tubs

The hotel is situated in a fantastic location, and we thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea there. However, I was informed that my teenagers, aged 14 and 16, couldn't use the pool without supervision. Additionally, the garage across the street had a non-functional elevator, which made handling our luggage quite challenging.

This is a very nice hotel in the heart of Kilkenny - easy walking to attractions, shopping and dining. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Easy parking across the street. Good breakfast buffet.

Parking across the street was 8 Euros with the voucher. Hotels is within a short walking distance to the main sights. Ground floor was a lot fancier than the floor with our room.

Great location, lovely hotel and rooms. The parking is across the street and so is the gym/pool. Bring a swimming cap, they cost €3.5 to buy at the pool.

Big breakfast buffet, but they allowed food to sit too long. Sunny-side up eggs not runny; bacon over-done and tough. Pool was terrific, large and with a strong jet. Sauna was great, too ... hot tub, however, was tepid. "Parking available" means at a charge ... €7 a day, so nominal. Good location.

Rooms are clean. Easy walking distance to most sites. We have stayed here twice in the past ten years. You pay 8euro per night for parking lot across the street. Buffet breakfast in am is good $16 euro per person.

Great stay! Very walkable around the city and nice conditions. Would have appreciated a fridge in the room and the bathrooms could use a deep clean/caulking but overall very nice stay!

Great location and nice staff but hotel is very tired. Room has not been hovered, there were cobwebs hanging from all the light shades and the bathroom has discolored grouting and hair on the floor. Also found the seats in the dining room to be covered in food so was very unimpressed with the general cleanliness. I would say that for the cost of the room for the two nights, it represents very poor value for money.

Kilkenny was probably our favorite stop in Ireland. This hotel was centrally located and definitely within walking distance of much we wanted to do. Very clean and comfortable.

The room cleanliness was appalling. There was black mold in the showers, the carpets were thick with dirt and everything was worn and tired looking. The ventilation grill in the bathroom was thick with years worth of dirt. Only redeeming quality was the location but will try other hotels in the area for our next visit. I have photos and am happy to share them with the hotel. We stayed in room 203. We did not address this with the hotel when we were there but hopefully this review will bring it to their attention.

The staff at the hotel were great, really kind & helpful. The room very big, had everything we needed in it. However the bathroom was very rundown, felt dirty. Lots of old shower products on the tiles, hair in the bath. I asked for it to be cleaned again, however it still felt old and dirty after the second clean. Location of the hotel was great, right in the centre of town but not noisy. Parking across the road was handy, it’s cheaper to pay the carpark directly than pay via the hotel. Overall it was a nice stay apart from the bathroom.

Very nice hotel with a great pool which kids love. Staff were very friendly and helpful. One drawback for us was the room was situated beside the delivery gate and we were woken early (before 7am) by delivery trucks beeping. Otherwise a nice stay.

This property does not feel like a four-star hotel. It needs a complete renovation. There is no mini fridge in the rooms. The fixtures are old and need a deep cleaning. The gym is nice, but because it is next to the pool, all of the equipment is rusted. The staff was extremely helpful and nice, but the hotel needs a refresh.

We book King deluxe so very happy with size of room. No A/C which seems to be the norm ! Was able to open balcony awnd window fr a nice cross breeze. Some of the staff were not suitable for the job (too young and inexperienced) the rest were very experienced / odd combo.

Everything was nice but the rooms did not have air-conditioning. There was a fan in the room and I was able to open the window and that helped.

Nice place. Heating is radiant (water) and off in September so a bit cool at night. No individual room thermostat.

Our room was very warm and we could not find the feature to cool our room down otherwise it was fine.

This hotel was pretty much booked up when we got there to check in. The room they gave us was not what I had reserved and when we went back down to the front desk they very happily fixed the issue by up grading us to a bigger better room. It was quiet and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel nicely located to make the city very walkable.

Nice, clean room and staff were friendly. View out window was wall and roof scattered with cigarette butts. Wifi was terrible. We’d consider staying again as besides the bad view and bad wifi the room and interior of hotel were nice and good value.

Very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Lobby is spacious and welcoming. Staff are friendly and helped with all our queries. Parking was ideal and well worth the price. The room had everything we could ever have needed and with a well appreciated balcony. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was spacious, with a shower to look forward to. Very impressed, and will return next time I say in Kilkenny.

Staff is amazing. Common theme here in Ireland but these folks were great. Check in staff were helpful. Helping me negotiate the buses while parking was helpful. And breakfast buffet staff gave us great attention and to-go coffee cups without having to ask on morning two. We'd stay there again. Rooms were comfy and clean. Very walkable to this great town.

This hotel staff is kinda shady. I had accidentally booked the one room we needed here twice due the Expedia app grouping the booking into ANOTHER trip. After I explained the situation to the front desk gal she told me that she couldn’t do anything since Expedia has the money so we need to talk to them, but she would cancel the other booking. So I send a message to ECS and they told me they saw the cancellation, but that it was marked as a NO SHOW, so they have to talk to the property manager to refund me. I called down to the front and was told that it is hotel policy with all third party apps to mark it as a no-show when cancelling. At that point I was ok so what do we do here? The Exp rep I was talking to called the hotel for me and they told her she needed to email the property manager since he was off-site. I said ok that’s fine, because I get it, I worked in hotels. (KIM no one has said no to me at this point, I just got the run around) Expedia made multiple attempts to talk to the guy. He never even replied to say no!! Look I get it, I booked the non refundable room twice, but this was so clearly an accident AND I stayed there AND they didn’t even have the room I booked available!! THAT’S the thing that bothered me the most about the whole issue! Like it was clearly a mistake and you got your money for the dingy “upgraded” room with no king bed that you stuck me in; You couldn’t just be kind and refund me for an accident? Or, you couldn’t just say no to my face??

Great location and easy to explore the town on foot. The restaurant had limited dinner options due to a group booking. There was a billing issue at the bar caused by the hotel, but staff were argumentative and offered no reassurance. In the morning, there was no hot water in either of our rooms. Although the manager apologized and promised a refund, nothing was done. Disappointing service overall.

Check in and check out was quick and easy. Overall the hotel is in great condition and modern. The bathroom could do with a little upgrade in comparison - and very annoyingly the toilet roll holder is extremely close to the toilet meaning you have to sit sideways to avoid having your leg against it. The breakfast was a little disappointing and a strange set up. It was very expensive for a 'buffet' experience. You could get your own cereal and toast etc but the hot food was behind a railing that you had to have served to you by a member of staff. For the amount being paid this felt a little mean. We also had to go back downstairs and have our room keys reset twice in the two days we were staying there as they stopped working. Overall it's a lovely hotel in a fantastic location. The room was a great size and comfortable. The staff are lovely and I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely fantastic hotel but the staff were absolutely fantastic. Their attention to details was spot on. The breakfast staff & Mags I think that was her name, short lady with blonde hair in a suit was so efficient at her job. Overall I would love to stay here again

Arrived during St Patrick’s Day parade. Town was crowded but we were still able to park right across street from hotel. Very friendly staff from the front desk to the cafe to the pub. Recommend.

This modern property is right in the heart of town. Just an easy walk to the shop, bars and the castle. The town is full of charm and I only wish was that I spent more time. The car park isn't part of the property but is only across the road with the hotel giving a discounted rate. Breakfast was good with a good selection of both hot and cold

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for two nights. The location is excellent, only a short walk from Kilkenny Castle. The rest of the city was also easily explored on foot. We did not dine in the hotel. We found several cafes nearby that provided ideal breakfast options. There was a convenient parking garage across the street from the hotel. We would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Well located for exploring the town

This is an old hotel so the lack of A/C was understandable but uncomfortable in 30 degree heat. Cracked floor/tiles in the bathroom. Doing the final check before leaving, I open a drawer I hadn’t used, which fell out narrowly missing my foot. Breakfast? Stopped serving at 10am which ensures a backup. I have never had to wait so long to be seated. Nominally self service but you wait to be issued with a mug, then queue whilst chap individually, item after item ,solemnly places. 2 rashers of bacon on your plate, one egg, etc. presumably to stop folk sneaking an extra sausage. This parsimonious approach explains why the fried eggs were rubbery and had obviously been standing for some time. No doubt the reply will be that I could have asked for more than one egg, but I wasn’t asked if I wanted two. As the process was so slow, the queue continued to build out in the lobby. Orange juice? It was labelled as such but it was more like orange squash! The location is great, the staff were great but management need to sort out the breakfast offering and refurbish the fabric of what could be a fabulous hotel.

We spent our first two nights in Ireland at Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel after our arrival in Dublin. It was an easy drive from the airport. There is free/validated parking across the street. The hotel was centrally located to everything Kilkenny, and the surrounding area, has to offer. The hotel itself was very clean, updated, and comfortable. The breakfast offering offered everything you could want and was delicious. We ate dinner in the restaurant and found the menu selection to be varied and the food to be very good. The entire staff were welcoming, helpful, cheerful, and very willing to offer help which made our stay wonderful.

I have stayed here in the past and found it to be a warm and welcoming hotel and great for the city centre and nice to have a cut price parking deal with the multistorey over the road. The room was comfy and wifi decent. Bar food was good albeit a little pricey compared to less tourist cities. But you're spoilt for choice for food.
